The Campsite Index: Listed By State Go Down go back
The Campsite Index by State
In the menu to below, you will see a list of first, the Canadian Provinces and Territories, the Fifty US states, the 31 Mexican states and when access becomes available, to the countries in the Carribean and Central America. Scrolling down, will show campsites in the listed jurisdictional district and clicking on one of the blue links will direct you to that campsite information page, many of which have photos. As campsites in more states are visited and reviewed, the menu list on the left will grow to include those states.
In the following campsite index lists, all campsites are listed first by the jurisdictional district where the campsite is located. Next, within each of the district listings, the campsite will be listed alphabetically.
Returning to this "Index by State" Page:
Upon arriving at a specific campsite page, there will be a return Up-arrow located at the top right. If you click on that arrow, you will be redirected, not to the location on the Index by State page where you came from, but to the Index By Rating Page. If you wish instead to return to this Index by State page, then click on the page back arrow (usually located in the upper left corner of your browser).

I am not sure when this began, but for some time now, Montana is charging all non-residents a surcharge of over 40% to camp in their state parks. Like I have done with Oregon, Montana will receive the same debit in the rating system: A: Camping Cost: an EF: Entrance, Out of State Fee, -1 to all Oregon SP campgrounds. So, until this has been implemented, please recognize that Oregon SP campgrounds will have a rating of one point lower.
2
Since January 2022, All Oregon state park campgrounds have been charging a 25% surcharge for non-residents to camp. Therefore, adding this charge will lower the rating on all Oregon state parks by one point because of the addition of the A Section Camping Cost: EF Entrance Fees: Out of state fee, -1. All of the Oregon state parks (on this page only) reflects that -1 point reduction. However, changing the individual campground pages is still forthcoming.
3
All Texas campgrounds on this index will list the Region number (a number from 1 through 7) indicating which Texas region where the campground are located. These regions are used by the state of Texas to divide their State Park campgrounds into the seven regions, which include:
Region 1: West (also known as the Big Bend Country); Region 2: Gulf Coast; Region 3: Hill Country; Region 4: Panhandle (Plains); Region 5: Piney Woods; Region 6: Prairies (and Lakes); Region 7: South (Texas) Plains.
4
Regarding the Limited Free Camping locations (LFC): If I include the DNR acronym, then, I will not return to this location because of the campground′s listed negative amenities.
