The campground is located near State Highway 43 just north of Karnack, Texas.

From Marshall, Texas, take the Karnack Highway 22 miles east to SH FM 2198 and turn east (right) to the park entrance. From Atlanta, Texas, take state highway 43 south just past thirty miles to arrive at state highway FM 2198, turn east (left) to the park entrance.

Amazing natural diversity from towering bald cypress, walnut, oak trees and southern pines. Also, enjoy the historic Civilian Conservation Corps 1930s construction, nine cabins and other structures. Miles of hiking trails. Walks beside Saw Mill pond with bald cypress trees drapped in Spanish moss, frequented by great egrets and great blue herons looking for handouts at the fishing pier.

Again, I find here one of the best built of the state park restrooms, of the highest quality in materials and craftsmanship. (MS- Medium Hot Shower)

I have yet to explore the surrounds.
