The campground is located west on US 90 from the junction with US 377 a short ways north of Del Rio, Texas. Drive seven miles and turn left on SH 349 exit, drive for about one thousand feet to the first right and then drive one mile northeast on this road along US 90 until you cross under US 90 and enter the campground.

This location is included it the Great Plains Region of Texas, in the Edwards Plateau Ecoregion

Water, water and more water. Governors Landing has numerous picnic areas, an amphitheater and campsites with water near by all sites.

Seminole Canyon state park is about twenty miles west where is also located Fate Bell Rock Shelter with numerous pictograph, most of which have guided tours.

This campsite is fifteen spaces on a ridge overlooking the Amistad Reservoir with easy access is from US 90.

In all the times that I have stopped at this campsite, I have never found it full, there has always been open spaces.

Access is all paved up to each campsite. Several vault toilets are onsite.
