QUIRE ELEVEN: CHAPTER THIRTEEN
The Quest for The Solace, Part Five

On Loving God Wholeheartedly Go Down Go Up
The Journey Continues, 26 September 2019 through 03 January 2020
Searching for a location to avoid the continental heat, I drive to the west cost and spend two long month enjoying cooler temperatures but also having to put up with several weeks of constant rain. I then leave the North Wet to travel to the southern desert to help a brother with a project.

The Inland Journey South Continues Go Down Go Up
Thursday, 26 September 2019, Klamath Falls, OR.
(Day 401 TG) 48°F. 7:00 am, sunny and clear

Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, drive to the w-mart, go in for coffee, com and computer and stay here all morning working on cropping photos, updating my journal, and uploading files to my web site. I am finally glad to have full access to my control panel and have use of the file manager again. Then, in the afternoon, I create another post on social media so my friends can see where I have been.
After posting, I resume the Inland Journey South, beginning Part Four. I drive west on SR 140 to Lakeview, Oregon where I plan on camping at Goose Lake state park tonight. I do not stop in Lakeview, but turn south on US 395 to continue my travel of this highway, which I have given the name Inland Desert Route.
Soon after leaving town, I begin to see Goose Lake which has very low water.
The Sojourn on the
West Coast
(m6fi-inlanddesert-or.20190926.1756) The Inland Desert Route
When I drive into the state park, my GPS routes me into California but as I approach the park campsite, I find out that I could have turned onto State Line road and driven to the campground without going out of the state. Nevertheless, it did not matter because I did not encounter the border fruit and vegetable guards.
Upon entering the park, I find it to be very green, much like Clyde Holiday state park on the John Day river, but instead, this park is near Goose Lake. However, I was told by the camp host that the lake is not accessible due to extreme evaporation which sets the actual shore line too far away to walk too, especially since most of the walk would be through wetlands or mud areas.
I set up in space # 16 which has electric and water, plug in and then begin cook my Repast. When it is done, I carry everything into the jammer and then close the windows and doors because there are some insects here. I still would like to buy some insect netting and adhesive magnets to use to attach to screen on the outside of the jammer window so as to allow the cool air in but not the insects. However, there are several other projects that I have need to do before that one.
It is eight-thirty now, and I will put away the devices and get into the horizontal.

Goose Lake Lake State Park #16, CRS: 9.0
Awake, dress, walk to the shower house for a nice hot shower. Then, I return to the jammer, unplug, start the engine and pull forward twenty feet. While the engine is warming up, I get out and police the area.
Finally, I pull out of the campground, drive to the park′s day use are to see the lake but it is what looks like half a mile from the picnic area. Next, I drive south on US 395, stopping at a bluff overlooking Goose Lake to take photos and from this elevated location, I can see that Goose Lake is really low from evaporation.
Upon checking my GPS, it indicates that my next gas stop, Gardnervile, Nevada, is 258 miles from the campground, and I definitely have enough fuel to get there, so I begin the drive trough northern California.
After driving through Alturus, California, I continue south to Susanville on the Susan river and next follow US 395 east along Honey Lake, one that has always been even dryer than Goose Lake was. However, this trip, it is not because there must had a lot of recent rain because the lake is full right up to the bluffs at the very south end.
Later, I drive into Nevada and come upon White Lake, a lake that I have seen many times but never with any water in it. This trip, it is full right to the high banks. I drive through Reno and Carson City to Gardnerville, find a gas station with regular for $3.03 a gallon and fill up my gas tank. I will not find gas for this low for about another two to four weeks, that is until I leave California.
It is after one this afternoon when I leave the gas station and the drive to Lone Pine, California and drive of about 220 miles, which will take four to five hours depending on traffic. I hope to stay tonight in Tuttle Creek campground but if it is full, I will then stay in the BLM Alabama Hills nearby. Either way, I hope that it will be a spectacular sunglow like it was last time.
Not long after driving into California, I come upon the Mono Lake Vistapoint, stop, grab my camera and take a panoramic photo. I continue south on US 394 along the west bank of this lake and take a few more photos. Directly to my west is Yosemite National Park, which I will not go on this trip.
Continuing south on US 395, I arrive in Lone Pine, turn right on Whitney Portal road which take me by Alabama Hills, Movie Flat road, across Lone Pine creek and then I turn left on Horseshoe Meadows road and I turn right at Tuttle Creek to the campground. I am able to find a space open, pay my four dollar fee, then set up camp and begin cooking. After cooking, I climb inside to eat and work on my journal entry until the computer battery is nearly exhausted.
I then get into the horizontal for the night.

Tuttle Creek Campground, #5. CRS: 6.0
The day has already begun but I sit waiting in the jammer waiting for the sun to climb above the mountains for the suntouch, which does not occur until seven. I drive out of Tuttle Creek campground and return to my inland drive south on US 395. I hope to make through the 225 miles first through the Mojave desert and then into the Sonoran desert in southern California early today. I will contact Richard and tell him that I am expecting to arrive today.
As the sun climbs higher into the sky, I make my passage south towards the Valley Plain, getting ever closer with each passing hour. At Hesperia, California, US 395 turns onto and continues as IH 15. The highway almost immediately goes over Cajon Summit at 3776 feet and then begins the long decent into the Valley Plain.
The drive is better than I could have hoped for, no traffic what so ever and I arrive in Hemet by noon, stop at the w-mart and pound keys for the rest of the day, well until Ricard calls and tells me that he will be home soon. So, I pack out and drive to his home. I have made it to the desert and the temperature is cool to me even thought it is still September.
Some time later, Richard texts me to tell me that he will be home tonight, probably after dark. I tell him that I will be in the w-mart just north of Hemet working online. Then, at eight, I get a call from Richard telling me that he is a half hour away and I tell I drive to his home and meet him there.
He then shows up takes me inside to say hello to Kim and Jenny after which we drive to the rental property which is on Palm street, open it up and get me situated before he leaves to go back to his home. I lock the door to the rental and retire to the jammer for the night.

Overnighting at rental property
Awake after light, rise, go inside for a shower and then dress in my ministry clothes. After I lock up the rental, I drive to the w-mart for coffee, check my com and to upload files to the internet. At eight-thirty, I pack out, drive to the hall and await the brothers to arrive to meet for the ministry. The Spanish congregation begins their meeting at nine this morning but no one shows up for the ministry until nine-thirty. I work with the several who arrive. Then, before noon, I am back at the w-mart working on files to be uploaded.
Shortly after two this afternoon, Richard calls me and tells me that I can have the key to his shed where all the work tools are stored, so I pack out, drive to his home to get the keys. Then, I head to the hall for the weekend meeting which is at three, while Richard and Kim leave for Richard to give a talk at another hall. While I am at the hall for the Central Congregation, I find out that all the meetings during the week for the ministry are at nine in the morning. I will make myself available for several while I am her.
Afterwards, I drive back to the w-mart to continue to update files and then upload them to the web site. Then at eight, I pack out and head for the rental for the evening.
Tomorrow, I begin work, well not until after my cup of hot. As much as I do not really want to work, I will do so to help my brother Richard get the last rental ready for sale. Methinks, this is the worse one, meaning, in the worse condition of all the four that I have done.
(Day 405 TG, 366 DR70) 59°F. 7:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, walk inside to use the stove top to boil water for coffee and daystart after which I begin work on the rental. My first task here at the Palm Avenue rental is to pull the carpet, cut and roll it in light enough rolls that can be carried and transported to the dump. Once all the carpet is rolled and stacked on the porch, I begin working on the pad doing the same thing, removing, cutting, rolling and stacking. I put a strip of tape around each roll to keep them from unrolling.
Once all the carpet and pad is out of the rental, I next begin removing the tack strips and pulling nails, first in the living room because it looks to be the hardest. I always do the hardest task first so that if I get overly tired, I can slow down and still do the lighter task. Not only did the living room need to have the tack strips and nails removed but the dirt in the carpet was so thick and there was so much of it that it hardened on the floor below the carpet. So this required me to scrape the dirt with scrapper tools while I continued pulling the tack and nails. Wow, was that a lot of work.
I had the living room almost complete, except for a six foot by six foot section by the front entrance and decided that I would hold off on finishing that and instead finish the bedroom. That I did and was able to finish pulling all the tack strips and nails in the bed room. Then, I got out the mop and bucket and mopped the floors which cleaned up the floor so much that it made then look like we could just use them as they are. Except, due to the carpet that I just removed, this floor is full of nail holes. However, now that they are clean, they will serve as a good adhesive base for the new linoleum that will be installed later.
At about seven, Richard calls and I tell him that I have competed the floor in both the bed room and living room, well, except for a small section by the door. He tells me that he is so glad to have that done. By this time, I am sitting in the jammer watching the colorful sunset and finally, I excuse my self to capture on photos the final moments of the sunglow before the sky goes completely dark.
It is for moments like this that I do so enjoy spending time in the desert, especially in the fall and winter.
The Quest for

It being eight pm, I am too tired to cook my evening meal, so I drive to the local Mexican for a salad, after which, I stop to fill my tank with fuel. This is the first time I have had to pay more than three dollars for a gallon of gas this year, in fact, it was more than four dollars per gallon at this station, and methinks this low for here in California as on the drive here most prices were above five dollars.
I then drive back to the rental, park, get into the back to write today′s journal entry after which, this tired body gets horizontal.
(Day 406 TG, 365 DR70) 50°F. 7:30 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
After sleeping in late, I dress, drive to the w-mart and go in for coffee, com and computer. There is not much that I can do now at the rental without getting input from Richard, so I will spend time today working on the computer.
At six, I pack out, dress for the meeting, drive to the hall and go inside. Afterwards, I drive back to the rental and retire for the evening.
(Day 407 TG, 364 DR70) 50°F. 7:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and compute. Then at eight, Richard calls me to tell me he will meet me at the rental to look at what needs to be done and make some plans for me to continue the work for the next few days. I wrap up what I am doing and then head to the rental arriving at about ten minutes before nine and Richard arrives at nine. We walk through the rental and make some decisions as to what to do with what.
Richard stays for some time helping with some of the tasks. We both work on removing the nuts on the old faucet but they seem to be permanently attached. Then Richard asks if I have a hammer and chisel to which I walk to my tool box, bring them back and begin pounding on the old faucet which makes short work of it′s removal. Then Richard goes to buy a new sink faucet for the bathroom.
While he is gone, I do a repair on the shower spray head which only take a few minutes and then I finish the work of the floor and begin working on the entrance sliding glass doors. When he arrives, I install the faucet in about twenty minutes and then tell him to turn on the water. I check for leaks with my hand and it comes back dry. On to the next task.
As the day progresses, Richard goes to get his truck and upon returning, we load it up with all the carpet, pad and other trash that I have been piling up. Then Richard leaves to take it to the dump to get rid of it. Also, he goes to buy the new kitchen countertop and faucet and when he returns, I am already done with my work today but help him carry the new materials into the rental. He also pays me for my first two days.
Then, at the end of the day, I watch the sunset, then the sunglow. After that, I take a hot shower, I get into the horizontal to sleep but my legs do not let me right away. Soon, exhaustion overcomes pains and I rest to repair my old body for more days of work here in the southern desert.
(Day 408 TG, 363 DR70) 53°F. 7:30 am, sunny and clear
Conjunction: Moon and Jupiter
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, go inside to get under the hot water before I drive to the w-mart for the day. I go inside for coffee, com and computer, staying all day pounding keys. In the early afternoon, I make a post on social media that tonight there is a cosmic event, a celestial paring of two solar system objects, the Moon and Jupiter. Noteworthy of this cosmic cuddle is that the moon and Jupiter come to within fifteen degrees of one another. I also learned that there are a couple of cosmic events this month. More Later.
At six this afternoon, I pack out and head for the rental to set up for the evening to watch the cosmic cuddle. I sit outside and have my supper, a can of salmon and a can of coconut cream with water. After the sun sets, I retire to the jammer and finish my journal entry for the day.
(Day 409 TG, 362 DR70) 50°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake and feeling so much better this morning and read to go tho work. I go in first and take a hot shower, dress in my work clothes and after turning off the water to the rental begin in the kitchen by taking apart the kitchen sink. Immediately, I find out that the parts that Richard bought yesterday have one hose that is different than that which is installed. So, I lock up the house and drive to the hw-mart to purchase the correct one and a couple of two by boards for the cabinet rebuild.. Also, I will look to add shut off valves in each of the two water lines under this sink because I just know that rebuilding the kitchen sink will take more that one day. This way, I will have hot water to shower with tonight.
I also stop at Richard and Kim′s home to get some tools to do wood work and find Kim there having her lunch. She helps me locate the right tools, even calls Richard to ask where one is. I pack up the tools and head to the rental and begin rebuilding the kitchen sink cabinet. I find some really good primer and use it to paint he wall boards and the inside of the cabinets. Then I begin cutting new boards and stop to design the cabinet on paper so that I will know how best to rebuild it.
I make good headway all day but there just does not seem to enough hours, so I pack up all the tools, take a shower, (glad that I bought the shut off valves) and then drive to the d-mart for a salad and some kombuchie for supper, returning to the rental to eat. I also eat an avocado and afterwards, catch up on my journal writing.
It is just before nine when I get into the horizontal.
(Day 410 TG, 361 DR70) 54°F. 7:00 am, sunny and clear
Conjunction: Moon and Saturn
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, walk inside for a hot shower, dress in my ministry clothes and drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. At eight-forty, I drive to the hall for the ministry meeting go inside and am assigned to work with Christopher this morning.
Afterwards, I go back to the rental to change, then to the w-mart to pound keys until noon after which I drive back to the rental and work for a few hours to clean up from all the wood cutting yesterday. Then, in the late afternoon, I leave to go to Arturo′s for some Mexican food.
After eating, I drive back to the rental for the show and I was not disappointed at all. For the last several days, it seems that each night, immediately after the desert sunglow begins to diminish there has been the occurrence of a blue glow and tonight it is very bright. I take photos of the sunglow, the blueglow (all new gallery), the conjunction and then just sit outside and enjoy the cool night air.
Finally, I retire to the rental to continue to recuperate from the ravages of the work yesterday.
(Day 411 TG, 360 DR70) 56°F. 7:00 am, sunny and clear
Begin Second Week in Hemet
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, hot shower, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I crop photos and upload many of those currently taken to the website and afterwards, create a social media post. At eleven this morning, I return to the rental and call Richard who says that he will be here in ten minutes. When he arrives, we talk about what work I am doing, how I need his help to reassemble the kitchen cabinet and other thinks about sealing out the remaining tenant animal smells.
Some time before one this afternoon, he leaves and I finish up what I was doing, then clean up and dress for the meeting, drive to the hall and enjoy a very interesting talk from a young visiting brother. Afterwards, I stay for a time and visit with some of the friend, then drive back to the rental and work on the cabinets in the jammer.
After pulling the bed side out, I realize that I do not have to cut the cabinet boxes down in width, I just need to cut the lids shorter to allow the boxes to fit side by side. This was such a time saver for me and I was able to cut just two lids and get the cabinets to fit in the jammer again.
After I got the cabinets back in place, I begin to reload them while endeavoring to dispose of more of my stuff. However, as I begin the reload portion of this task, the sun sets and even though I turn on the inside light, there is still not enough light to really sort through my things. I discard a little but pack most of the rest away in the cabinet boxes and make myself a promise to sort it again later. This makes methinks of when I was a young boy and my mother would tell me Just give it a lick and a promise. After I return everything back to it′s place, including my clothes, I am amazed at just much room there is inside the jammer now.
After completing the task at hand, I grab my shower bag and go inside for a hot shower, followed by a cold one which is the second time I have done this since being here. I take a cold shower because the temperature is upwards of 90 degrees during the mid daytime and tomorrow is suppose to be mid 90s. Still, it has been cooling down into the mid to upper 50s each night so I has no problem sleeping, well except for the persistent pain after working a long day.
(Day 412 TG, 359 DR70) 59°F. 6:40 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake before my alarm, rise, go inside for a hot shower, dress for the ministry, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, and a short time of key pounding. Then, at eight-thirty this morning, I pack out and drive to the hall for the ministry meeting. I work with Richard, after which we go to the rental.
I continue to work on the rental, stopping after several hours so that I can eat.
Finally, after the sunsets, I take a shower and retire for the evening.
(Day 413 TG), 358 DR70) 60°F. 6:30 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, grab my shower bag and walk inside for some hot water. Then, I drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, and computer. At ten this morning, I pack out and drive to the rental to work on the kitchen cabinet. Richard stops by and we chat for a time. Then, at six in the evening, I stop work, shower, dress for the meeting and drive to the hall. I barely make it through the entire meeting due to my legs throbbing but stick it out and visit for a short time after.
I drive back to the rental, climb into the back and get horizontal.
(Day 414 TG), 357 DR70) 55°F. 7:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake before the alarm goes off but go back to sleep because my legs did not stop throbbing until late. Then, I rise, grab my shower bag and walk inside for some hot water. Afterwards, I unplug and drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I see Dave here when I arrive and we talk briefly but then he goes to work. I then begin working on my journal entry and stay here until noon when I pack out and return to the rental to work on the kitchen cabinets.
At the rental, I get to a place in the work when I need more parts so I call Richard, he comes by and I give him my list. When he leaves to get the parts, I work for a time longer but then begin cleaning up and packing out.
(Day 415 TG), 356 DR70) 56°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake early, walk inside for some hot water and then drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I work all day on my web files and then at five this evening, I drive to the hg-mart to buy vegetable for my supper tonight.
After doing my shopping, I return to the rental to cook my supper of collard greens, rainbow chard, red bell pepper, yellow onion, ginger, turmeric, all fresh, chopped and boiled in spring water. Then, I add dried dulse, my spice mix and a quarter cup of couscous. It cooks on a very low heat for a long time, and when it is done, I let it cool while I walk outside and take photos of the sunglow, suntouch, blueglow and the gibbous moon, now ever so close to the full.
The Quest for
The Blessings
(m5he-ch-gibbbous-2019-1010.1938) Waxing Gibbous Moon in the Desert Sunglow
After the photo session, I gather my utensils and cook pot to the jammer, set up the computer to crop photos while I eat a very healthy meal. Once the photos are all cropped, I begin working on my journal entry for today. After I am done, I put away the technology and get into the horizontal for the evening.
The near full moon climbs higher as it sails across a clear sky.
(Day 416 TG), 355 DR70) 49°F. 6:20 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, see the daylight and so rise, walk inside for a hot shower and then drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, and computer. I have a day of work ahead of me so I want to first upload a few of the photos taken last evening at sunglow.
At eight this morning, I pack out and drive to the rental to work in the kitchen and continue there until six thirty when I pack out, shower, and drive first to the d-mart for some vegetables and water, then to the w-mart to work on my journal entry and upload more photos.
I do not stay long and by nine, pack out to drive back to the rental to get into the horizontal.
(Day 417 TG), 354 DR70) 51°F. 7:00 am
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, rise, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. At eight-thirty this morning, I pack out to the jammer, put on my ministry clothes and drive to the hall. I work with London, who is new in this hall, but he is not feeling good so we do not stay out long.
I end up going back to the w-mart but my legs are throbbing and can not sit for long so at four this afternoon, I drive to the rental, go inside to turn on the swamp cooler and get into the horizontal on a piece of clean carpet and try to rest.
I awake at six feeling much better so I decide to drive back to the w-mart to work on my website for a little while longer and as I am driving, I look in my rearview and see the moontouch coming up over the mountains to the east. This causes me to stop, get out my camera and take photos from the side of the road of both the Hunters Moon and the mountains in the blueglow. It is always amazing to me how fast the moon is moving and how being in moontouch makes it so evident. In seconds, it is well above the mountains. I continue driving to the w-mart and find out that it is only 99 percent of full, but that is close enough for me. I upload my moon photos and then work on a social media post.
Afterwards, I return to the rental and climb into the back of the jammer and get horizontal, this time for the night.
(Day 418 TG), 353 DR70) 51°F. 6:30 am, overcast
Full Hunters Moon, 21:08 UTC (16:08 CST)
Begin Third Week in Hemet
Overnighting at rental property
Awake just before the suntouch, walk inside with my shower bag to get some hot water on my body, then return to the jammer and drive to the w-mart where I see Dave and Samuel already here having coffee. I get my cup of hot, check my com and then begin pounding keys on the computer. In the late morning, I study for the meeting and then in then early afternoon, Richard calls and we meet at the rental to look at the progress.
At two-twenty this afternoon, I pack out, dress in my meeting clothes and drive to the hall and Sheila, a sister that I only met last week tells me that she has a gift for me, one that she thinks I need. She hands me a zipper cover for my large size Bible and I thank her because I too have been watching this Bible begin to loose the original binding. The new cover works very well in holding my study Bible. I go on to listen to a very well presented talk from a visiting brother.
Afterwards, I drive to the new w-mart, the one open until ten each night and work on my previous journal, one that I had updated the page format but have yet to transfer the words into the new pages. This is going to be a lengthy process of first, adding the words and then later, adding to the words, the new text formats.
While at the w-mart, I talk to a young man who tells me that he is a teacher in ninth grade. I ask which subject and he tells me biology, to which I tell him, That is one of my favorite studies and show him on my computer, the biology photo gallery page on my website.
(Day 419 TG), 352 DR70) 53°F. 7:00 am
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, walk into the rental, hot shower, drive to the w-mart, coffee, com, computer. At nine, I pack out and drive to the rental to resume work on the restoration. I install the white board on the kitchen sink wall, put on the electrical covers, install the cabinets and their trim boards and then clean up the rental by vacuuming inside the sink cabinet, sweeping the floors and taking out the garbage.
I give Richard a call and he tells me that he has been out in the ministry all day and is now on the way to the rental. After the call, I take a hot shower, wash my work clothes and hang them up to dry. Richard arrives with Jenny and she runs toward me as if I am going to give her some sardines. Richard tells me that I can give her a small piece because it is too oily, but I tell him that have something better and get out a can of pink salmon which has very little oil. He gets out her water bowl and I put some salmon in it and she eats it up while I finish off the rest of the fish. Then Richard goes to the h-mart for some material for us to work on tomorrow and I pack out and head to the w-mart.
I continue work on the previous journal, Quire Ten, and complete the first step on another page. At eight this evening, I pack out, drive to the rental, park and climb into the back to get horizontal to sleep. However, my legs are throbbing so I watch a video and read for a time before I can sleep.
(Day 420 TG), 351 DR70) 55°F. 7:00 am
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, dress, walk inside for some hot water, to turn off the night lights, return to the jammer and drive to the w-mart. Then, I get my coffee, check com, begin pounding keys and then notice two young brothers sitting at the table next to me. I get up, approach and greet them: Hello brother, what congregation are you in and learn that their names are Andrew and Raul. After a short conversation, I resume the key pounding. Then, at nine-thirty this morning, I pack out and go to the rental to work for a few hours before the meeting tonight. Richard comes by to bring the materials he purchased last night and then he leaves to go to his home to retrieve all of his stored materials so that we can use them up on this job. I help him haul them into the living room where we set them up on a table he brought.
I then clean up, pack up my tools and then take a shower, after which I drive to the w-mart to get immersed in some air conditioning because the day has become quite hot. I can only last for an hour or two before I must needs get into the horizontal to relieve the leg throbbing. Previously, I had seen some huge trees on Johnston street that provide a large area of shade so I drive there, park in the shade, set my alarm for an hour and get horizontal.
I awake about five minutes before the alarm goes off, get out and put on my meeting clothes and methinks with reference to my legs, now that is better, a short nap does wonders and then head to the hall and not hurting at all during the entire meeting. Afterwards, I return to the rental, park and get horizontal

Awake, dress in my blues, drive to the w-mart, coffee, com, computer until ten-thirty when I call Richard and he says, Are you ready to go to work? to which I say, Yes sir. He says, Meet you there in about a half hour. We begin working at eleven and he shows me the fix for the sliding glass door. I look at it and say, What a great idea. I then begin working with a hammer and chisel to remove the flattened areas on the existing track, where the track has been flattened and has become wider. The track needs to be as narrow as it was when it was new for then new stainless steel cover to fit. Richard works on going through his material that he has been storing in his shed, sorting and disposing.
By two, I have finished the chisel work and then begin cleaning up the debris. Once the old track is all clean, we take the new rail and silicon glue it to the old track and it immediately works like new. About this same time, Kim comes by and looks at our progress and likes what she sees. Then, Richard and Kim leave to take some of the friends to the museum for the afternoon. Richard tells me that he will be back by five or six, so I leave, drive to the hg-mart for some vegetables and then return to take a nap
Richard arrives back at the rental by six and we leave for the hw-mart. On the way, I see a good spot for photographing the sunset and ask Richard to stop for me to take a photo. I tell him that this is the first time since I have been here to see a sunset with clouds in the sky.

We continue to the hw-mart and purchase as kitchen window, tub surround and some treated wood to support the fence in the front yard. Then he drops me back at the rental, unloads the materials and then he goes home while I pound keys to record today′s journal entry.
It is not until after nine this evening when I get into the horizontal and then read for a time before closing my eyes.

Awake, dress, go inside for some hot water on my body, then drive to the w-mart but on the way, stop at the hg-mart to purchase some citrus-bioflavonoids and Co-Q10 to help relieve the throbbing in my legs, which I will later add to my MRP. When I arrive at the w-mart, I go in for coffee, com and computer and plan on taking this day off from work and relaxing.

Awake, dress, walk inside the rental and take a hot shower. Last night while trying to obtain sleep, I thought a lot about the work I will do today and finally decided to do the work outside which is to install the front fence and a side fence, remove the deck wall partitions and remove the green carpet. After making a cook pot of hot tea to drink today, I begin shortly after seven this morning, work until late in the afternoon getting a lot of the work done that Richard has asked me to do.
After I have had a hot shower, I drive to the hg-mart and purchase a package of cooked beets for my supper. When I arrive at the w-mart, I also have a spinach, tomato and cheese sandwich with a large glass of water. After uploading all my photos, journal entry and updated pages, I head back to the rental for the night.
(Day 424 TG) 63°F. 6:30 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, rise, dress, drive to the w-mart and have coffee in front of me by seven this morning. I attribute the fast timing to the fact that I only drink brewed coffee and do not have to wait long for the drink to be made like probably more than ninety percent of the drinks this coffee shop makes. All that sugar, all that milk and all that fat, it will kill a person. On the way here, the check engine light comes on in the jammer, which is something never expected but I know that I will have to have it decoded.
I work on the current project, which since I have already copied all of the text to all parts of Quire Ten, now I just have the formatting and then the addition of links. I am already on part three. After a time, I drive to the d-mart to buy some white primer for the new rear bumper, drive back to the rental, paint the wood bumper white and let it dry. While I am waiting, I dig into my auto storage bin to look to see what color paint I have. I have white, black and cobalt blue metallic. Well, looks like the bumper is going to be cobalt blue metallic. I shank the can up and then spray the bumper only to use up the can without completing the painting of the bumper. I then stop work, drive to the d-mart and buy two more cans of the same color.
Then, I drive back to the rental and finish the spraying of the wood bumper. Next, I take out the seven bolts that holds the front bumper on and begin preparing it for painting. I first have to clean the decades of dirt off of it, then sand the entire bumper but especially where the previous paint has pealed off. Once the front bumper is sanded enough, I then clean it again, dry it off and begin taping the license plate holder and bottom wind jam with blue paint tape so that they will remain black.
After that, I carry the front bumper around to the wood deck and set in on the saw horses and begin painting it cobalt blue metallic. I find this paint is hard to make shine and after using up the remaining paint, I still think that it could have been done better. However, I tell myself that this is not a classic show car, this is just the windjammer and it does not have to be extra shiny. When the paint has dried, I carry it back around to the driveway and set it down in from of the jammer. Next, I clean the old bolts and add a little anti-seize compound to the threads and then re-install the bumper. Once all the bolts are back on and the license plate put back in it′s place, I step back and look at the bumper. Even though the front bumper is now finished, I have yet to install the rear one.
This is when I remember that the other can that was in the storage bin is clear and that would most likely give me the nice shine that I was hoping to obtain. I dig the can of clear paint out and spray it over the bumper and would you know it, the bumper looks superb. At about this time, the sun begins to set, glowing bright orange like it does here in the desert and I begin picking up all my tools and cleaning up the rental, putting away all the saw horses and other stuff I was using. The sun drops below the horizon and the blue glow begins while I go in and take a hot shower. By the time I have locked everything up and arrive back at the jammer for the evening, the planets Jupiter and Saturn have taken their places in the twilight sky.
Finally, I climb into the jammer, turn on the computer and write my journal entry for this day. I must say, I look forward to seeing the front bumper in the light of day.

Begin Forth Week in Hemet

Awake, walk inside and take my morning hot shower, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer so that I can study for the meeting today. When I walk into the coffee shop, I see Dave and Darrald sitting at a table, so after I place my computer on the desk adjacent to the electrical outlet, I come back to sit for a time with my two brothers. Soon, Dave leaves and I continue to talk with Darrald until he leaves, after which I return to my computer and begin my study. When that is done, I next begin cropping more of the photos I have taken during the last few days and upload them to my website.
Once that is done, it is only ten this morning and I still have five hours until the meeting. I call Richard to see if he is up yet and I then drive back to the rental and install my rear bumper on the jammer. Richard does come buy to look at the rental, likes what he sees, and says that he will be here to help for a few days. Then, he leaves to get ready for the meeting and I do as well.
After the meeting, I drive to the ap-store to have the check engine light decoded and the clerk tells me that it is the canister emissions purge control valve. He says that he does not have one but the store about one mile north does. I drive there and purchase the valve for fifty-two dollars, then go to the w-mart to find out where it is and how to replace it. From what I read, this is a real easy job, just two hose fuel vapor connection and one electrical connection, all right under the hood.
At eight this evening, I pack out of the w-mart, drive to the rental and get horizontal for the night.
(Day 426 TG) 55°F. 7:00 am, sunny and clear

Awake, walk inside for some hot water on my body, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and a short time pounding keys. Then, my computer informs me of an operating system update and assume that it will not take long, but it takes much longer than I expected and causes me to miss a meeting with Richard for the ministry, and I text him to tell him so. However, we are going to get together later to work at the rental.
Then, at ten this morning, after the update finishes, I pack out of the w-mart and drive to the rental to install my new emissions part. I do get it installed but the light stays on so I go back to the ap-mart and purchase new fuel lines for the part as well but even that does not dim the light.
Shortly after noon, Richard calls to tell me that he is on the way and then we begin cutting the kitchen sink counter top and installing the new sink, basket strainers, water lines and soap dispenser. However, when it gets late, and we find that we do not have caulk for the connection between the sink and the counter top, we decide that it is time to stop for the night. He then packs out leaving me to clean up my tools, pack them out and then take a hot shower. When I am done with my shower, I drive to the w-mart to write and upload my journal entry and check my com.
Finally, I pack out drive to the rental for the night and get horizontal.

Another hot day, in the 90′s, like it has been and will be all this week. Awake, get under the hot water, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, and computer. I pack out and arrive at the rental by ten and work for an hour or so, but since I have not heard from Richard as yet, I drive to the hw-mart to purchase more hardware for attaching the rear bumper to the jammer, but when I arrive back at the rental, it is not long before Richard shows up and we finish the sink install. Now, there is just the range, fan, and hood to complete, well, also the sink window when it arrives.
Later, he leaves to go to the hw-mart and I continue to work. Going into the bath room, I take out the old tub surround, clean off all the debris on the walls, disconnect the plumbing fixtures and clean the tub thoroughly, a task that takes much less time to accomplish than I had expected. Afterwards, I use the now clean tub to take a bath and clean up myself.
Richard returns to the rental and is really impressed how nice the bath walls behind the tub surround looks. He said it is so much nicer that he even expected. He is leaving tonight to drive to Los Angeles for his work and will not be back until Saturday evening. Too, he has left enough work for me to do to keep me busy until then.
I then drive to the w-mart to get into some cool air conditioning and work on the computer for an hour or so. Then, I drive back to the rental and get into the horizontal for the night.

Awake, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, and computer. I stay indoors most of the day due to it being another 90 degree day and it stays in the high 80s all afternoon. These hots days should end by Sunday with the temperatures dropping into the low 70s for a time.
I work on my computer until the sun sets and then go outside to take a couple of photos of the colorful clouds. It amazes me that there are clouds as often as there are here in the desert.

Awake before six this morning, step outside to photograph the waning crescent moon, but do not stay awake and instead get back into the sack for another hour.
Then at seven, I rise to a comfortable morning but know that it will be very close to 90 degrees again today. I dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer.
Leaving about eight-thirty this morning, I arrive back at the rental for a day of work. I begin with cleaning and preparing the bath tub walls for the new surround and once that is done, I take a short break to eat a cup of daystart, then continue work cleaning the walls and cabinets on the stove side of the kitchen and wow is this area dirty with many years of grease accumulation. I remove the exhaust fan and the stove hood and put them both on the deck. Then I resume cleaning and I am able to finish the first four of six cabinets before I run out of TSP cleaner. However, the cabinets that I have cleaned, I put the first coat of paint on the inside.
Then, I clean up the work area, pack out my tools to the jammer, and then clean up myself with warm water drawn from the tub facet. After completing the end of day′s work duties, I drive to the w-mart to get online and have something to eat. Leaving there, I return to the rental for the evening and get horizontal.

Awake with the dayspring already begun and methinks, Oh well, it is too late, but I get up and step outside with my camera anyway. Surprised I was to see the moon one hand above the horizon with the sun still a have hour before suntouch. Wow, I begin taking photos and get some really nice ones.
The 2019 Crescent Moon
(m5he-ch-crescent-19.20191026.0635) The Waning Crescent Hunter′s Moon
Also, methinks, there is going to be one more show of the waning crescent but the timing is very crucial because it will only be above the horizon for a few minutes before the suntouch. I hope that I can succeed in taking photos tomorrow morning.
I get up soon after, dress, drive to the w-mart, coffee, com, computer and stay most of the day inside as outside the temperature is still in the high 80s most all day. At two, I pack out, drive to the d-mart to buy some groceries, to the hw-mart to buy some degreaser and then drive to the rental to work for a couple of hours. Later, I drive to a Mexican for fish tacos.
The place where I go is nothing more than a building that was once a fast food restaurant but the ff chain has long since moved to a newer building leaving the old building behind to take up the place of one of the cultural food restaurants. The fish tacos, beans and rice, chips and salsa came to $11.00 and were quite good, not the best, but not by much.
Afterwards, I return to the rental to park for the night and get into the sack by nine.

I awake, walk to the rental, turn on the water, go inside and take a hot bath, dress, turn off the water, drive to the w-mart, coffee, com, computer. While I am sitting at my computer pounding keys, a man walks up to me, greets me and very excitedly goes off on why everything happens. He says that they are algarisms from Apollo and that they control everything. He the begins quoting the man who he says built the Cathedral. By this time, I bring up the subject of the Bible telling him that there are at least a dozen ways to prove that the Bible is from God, but he shrugs me off and says good bye. Wow, how mislead, Apollo really does have him controlled and little does he know that Apollo is none other than Satan the devil.
I resume my key pounding to update my journal and then at noon, Richard calls and wants to meet me at the rental in a half hour. I pack out and drive to the rental and we talk about this project. Soon, he has to go to get ready for the meeting and I also get dressed and drive there.
Afterwards, I drive to the w-mart and finish updating the Desert Gallery. It is just before nine tonight when I pack out and drive back to the rental to park for the night.

Up late this morning, walk inside the rental to get into the hot water, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. At eleven-thirty this morning, I pack out and drive to the rental to begin work for today.
Richard and Kim arrive at about six this evening to look at the rental and Richard hands me a container of avocado salsa and cassava chips. This makes me do the research so that I will be in the know of cassava flour and what it is.
After Richard and Kim leave, I clean up, pack my tools out to the jammer and then take a hot bath. Then, I drive to the hg-mart to buy some organic berries, cold coconut milk and other food items.
Next, I drive to Richard and Kimℙs home and give them some of what I purchased and Richard shared what he is cooking, cassava tortillas and I tell him that I like the taste but the tortilla is a little thick.
I then leave their home, drive to the rental and before I get into the horizontal, I read for a short time.

Awake to the alarm, rise, turn on the water, walk inside the rental, get into the hot water, dress, turn off the water and then pack out. I then drive to the w-mart for hot coffee, com and computer while waiting for Richard to call me to work. At ten this morning, I pack out and drive to the rental to begin work but spend some time cleaning up my stuff. Richard does call and soon after comes by to repair the broken water line. I had said to him that I did not like to repair leaks in a galvanized pipe because when trying to remove the defective piece, it would always break further down the line. I told him that the last time I worked on galvanized pipe was at my mobile home in Oak Harbor, Washington when I ended up replacing all of the galvanized pipe with copper pipe.
He then said that he learned how to remove a defective piece from a plumber and I asked, How do you do that? He said that the plumber would use a torch to heat the piece and then it would unscrew easily. We went to where the leak is and began heating with the torch and amazingly, it defective piece unscrewed without much effort. We then used plastic (PVC) pipe to repair the broken part of the pipe using Teflon pipe dope to make a good seal. After we turned on the water, we checked and there was now no leaks anywhere.
Richard left to get ready for the meeting and I then went inside to get into the hot water to clean up and get ready for the meeting as well. Then, I drive to the hall but the throbbing in my legs caused me to leave a few minutes early to go back to the rental and get horizontal.
Too, the throbbing kept me from getting to sleep for a time so I read a magazine before closing my eyes.
(Day 435 TG) 45°F. 7:00 am, sunny and clear

Awake, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. Richard calls shortly after nine this morning and I pack out and head to the rental arriving to begin work by ten but instead, I restock my kitchen so that I can make something to eat. Then, at eleven, I begin work and install the first two panels of the tub surround before I run out of adhesive. I continue working on filling in the holes where there is missing flooring with a quick set patch and like how well it works to patch the several holes. I Richard comes by and goes up on the roof the seal a part of it while I continue mixing quick set and troweling it into holes.
At six this evening, I clean up, pack out my tools, take a hot bath and then walk outside to see the waxing crescent moon just one hand from Jupiter. That could mean that we may have a conjunction tomorrow night. I then drive to the w-mart to work on my computer for a while and wait for Richard to show up with a couple of things.

Last night was the first night that it has dropped below 40 degrees which caused me to get out a second sleeping bag. The one I normally use is only good down to 50 degrees and the last couple of nights when it has been in the forties, I have just managed, barely, but last night was much too cold for me to even sleep much less sleep comfortably. At about three in the morning, I awoke and unrolled a second bag.
Upon getting up, which is latter than most days, I dress, go inside to turn off the night lights and put up the drills that Richard has left me and then drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I am taking a day off and will do it here at the w-mart most of the morning.
It is noon before it warms up to sixty degrees and I pack out of the w-mart to go do some chores, first vegetable shopping, then I drive to the rental and work on cleaning the jammer. I take out the food storage bin which seems to collect all the spilled food at the bottom and there it gets pounded into the white paint.
After emptying the bin, I take it out and then scrub the inside with cleaner and set it in the sun to dry. I do the same to a bin lid that has become darkened from constant contact with my hands and then set it out to dry. Once these are dry, I then paint them both with another coat of white paint and return them to there spot in the sun. The southern Californian desert sun does good to dry things and not to long after, I am putting the bin and lid back in their places and refilling the food storage bin with the food containers. By the time I have finished putting everything back in its place, the sun has already dropped below the horizon.
(Day 437 TG) 39°F. 6:50 am, sunny and clear

Awake to another below forty degree morning but not quite as low as the night before so I survived as it was only 39 degrees. I rise, drive to the w-mart for hot coffee, com, computer and to wait for the temperature to rise. By nine this morning it reaches 48 degrees but I am waiting for it to be warmer than that, as the high today will be 80 degrees. By ten, it is sixty degrees out and I will soon be driving to the rental to resume the work.
At eleven, I pack out, drive to the rental, and have my daystart before I begin. Then, I continue working first on the bathroom and complete the tub surround. Everything goes together really well except for one seam about four inches long that pulls apart. After the tub surround dries completely, them, I will go back and use more sealant with pressure to close that up. Next
Next, I go outside to the driveway side and finish installing the side wood gate. Finally, I work on a few more items that need to be completed and after that, I clean up the rental, put everything back into it′s place and then take a hot bath. The shower is still not available for a stand up hot shower so I have been doing the sit down baths while I have been working on the tub surround. Then, I pack out to the jammer, drive to the w-mart and upload my files and have a free salad from my points.
At eight this evening, I pack out of the w-mart, drive to the rental and park for the evening.

Awake without the alarm, rise, dress, turn on the night lights in the rental and then drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, and computer. After a couple of hours, I drive to near the d-mart for a hair cut and happen on a hair cut sale for seven dollars. Then I drive to the rental to work for several hours.
These five weeks here in the desert working at the rental property have been a long five weeks, but methinks that is what I always say ever since retirement when I am working.
At ten, I pack out and drive to the rental to begin work for this day and do not stop until sunset which is one with a sky full of clouds. The clouds look like a fluffy mattress, yellow in color, then the color changes to orange, then to red, next the color changes to crimson, then purple and finally the color fades to gray. I really enjoyed the colorful display and how it slowly changed colors.
I clean up the rental, pack out, drive to the w-mart and pound keys for a short time. Finally, because I am just to tired to upload the photos that I took tonight, I pack out of the w-mart, drive to the rental and crash in the back of the jammer for the night.

After the Daylight Savings ended last night and an hour was added, I still slept in until late. I must have needed the extra sleep. Arising, I go inside to get into the hot water, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer and to upload recent photos and pages. Then, I prepare for the meeting today and when I finish that, I drive to the rental to clean up from yesterday and do the final cleaning and then install the stove vent in the wall. It works like new and there is a new electrical box instead of unprotected wires in the cabinet.
After working for a couple hours, I go out to the jammer, plug in and turn on the computer to work on my current journal entry. At two this afternoon, I put away the computer, change into my meeting clothes and then drive to the hall for the meeting.
I just got a text from Richard reminding me that he is in Washington state helping his mother for a couple of days which will could just allow me a day extra off from work. I am still having a difficult time adjusting to going to the weekend meeting and when coming out of the hall after the meeting having the sun near to setting. Tonight, with Daylight Saving time having ended, the sun was setting as I walk out to the jammer.
I drive to the rental to change into my fall blues and then drive to the w-mart for some key pounding. Not too long, just long enough to get really tired and then I drive to the rental for the night.

Awake, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. Then, at eight-forty this morning, I drive back to the rental to continue the work. First, I secure the lattice with screws, then, I resume cleaning the kitchen cabinets. Richard arrives in the early afternoon and brings the new kitchen window and gives me back my thumb drive. We look at it but he has to leave and we do not install it.
I continue on the kitchen cabinets and at five in the afternoon, I take up the task of cleaning the oven. It was cleaned once by a lady who only began the kitchen clean up but I take it apart and clean all the crevices which are replete with grease and roach poop. How disgusting the lady was who last rented this home.
At seven, I pack out, take a hot shower, and then head to the d-mart for some light bulbs, belt, dress shirt and a couple other things which I do not remember right now.
After shopping, I return to the rental, park the jammer and climb into the back to catch up on journal writing.

Awake, hot water, dress in my fall blues, drive to the w-mart, coffee, com, computer and then at eight-thirty, I pack out, dress in my ministry clothes, drive to the hall and meet for the morning ministry. At ten-thirty, we stop and I drive to the local Free Food for Veterans restaurant for my lunch. After eating, I return to the rental and begin work but the food from the restaurant did leave me alone because I became sick from it and must needs go to the bathroom four times before the problem stopped. This may be the last time I eat at a fast food restaurant.
At the rental, I continue work on cleaning the kitchen cabinets and when Richard arrives a three, I help him some while he begins painting walls. At six, I pack out and drive to the hg-mart for something light to have for supper. Then, I return to the rental and park for the evening.
Later this evening, I awake, walk outside and take more photos of the moon.
(Day 448 TG) 54°F. 7:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake a little later this morning, hot water, dress in my fall blues, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, computer and await a call from Richard to begin work. Then, I leave the w-mart, arrive at the rental before ten this morning, and resume the work in the kitchen. Richard arrives in the mid afternoon and we first install the kitchen window which goes in quite easy after which he resumes the wall and ceiling painting while I work on several other tasks including repairing walls trim, removing wall plates, screws and other items on the walls and ceilings.
By five this afternoon, he has finished the bedroom and hall, then he moves into the kitchen where he begins painting the ceiling. Wow, I am so impressed how a little paint makes a place look so much better. I tell Richard that he will probably get more will he sells the home than he has been thinking and we both agree how much better the home looks now at this stage in the repairs.
At six, Richard leaves to get ready for the meeting and I do as well, taking a hot shower and the putting on my meeting clothes. When I leave for the meeting, I see the moon rising and stop to take photos, now the forth day of taking the Beaver full moon photos.
After the meeting, I drive to the rental, get out my camera and take another photo of the full moon. Then, I climb into the back and get horizontal for the night.
(Day 449 TG) 48°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake this morning to a crisp morning, walk inside for some hot water, dress in my fall blues, begin driving and stop by some palm trees for photos of the moon. Then, I drive to the w-mart and upload moon photos, both to my website and to a post on my social media.
At nine this morning, I drive to the rental and before beginning my day of work, prepare a cup of daystart but do not mix the coconut milk into it and begin work. Then, Richard arrives with a bowl of hot food from Kim′s kitchen. We sit down, have a prayer and share a meal. I then resume work, cleaning and moving tools and materials out of the living room and into the side bed rooms. I am doing this because the living room is next in the progression of getting rooms done.
The bed room is first on this list and it is nearly ready for the floor to be installed, which I will most likely do next week after which only the final cut in painting will be done when Richard comes back on the 24 November, after which, the closet doors will be re-installed.
The kitchen is also nearing ready for the flooring to be installed but there is more cleaning and painting prior to that. Then the living room needs a cleaning and it will be ready for the flooring. Finally, the bath room will need a final cleaning, some repair to the floor in the towel closet and then the bathroom too will get a new vinyl floor, most likely the last floor to be installed because it has not been purchased like the flooring for the bedroom, kitchen and living room.
I work for just seven hours so that I can reach twenty hours to put on another invoice to Richard for him to pay me. Then, I take a shower, pack out and drive to the hg-mart for my meal of pico de gallo, guacamole, grain free chips, and coconut milk. Healthy and not to costly, but very filling. I then drive to the w-mart to compose today′s journal entry.
I stay at the w-mart until eight this evening and the pack out to drive to the rental to spend the night.
(Day 450 TG) 47°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, dress in my fall blues, drive to the w-mart and notice that the sunrise has created color completely around the entire horizon. I look for a place to photograph the sunglow but do not find one to show much of the horizon, but do get one that shows the color.

November Sunglow
(m5da-sunglow-19-11.20191114.0712) Morning Desert Sunglow in the Clouds
I then continue on my way for my morning coffee, com and computer. I take this day off after putting in a forty hour week and I must say, it has been a long forty hours and I am beat.
I pound keys all day, and at five this evening, I look out the window and see the start of the sunset. I got outside to look at it but it is not photographic so, I return inside and continue to pound keys. A little later, I look up again and see that there is much more color in the sky and go outside to take a couple of photos.

(m5da-sunglow-19-11.20191114.1800) Evening Desert Sunglow in the Clouds
I return inside to continue pounding keys for another hour or two, leaving the w-mart at about eight this evening, drive to the rental and after reading for a time, turn off my devices and close my eyes.

Overnighting at rental property
Awake before my alarm, rise, dress, walk inside to turn off the night lights, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. Then, at seven-thirty this morning, I pack out and drive to the rental to begin a long day of work. There were some clouds in the sky tonight at sunset which made for a lot of color. After ten hours, I take a hot shower and drive to the w-mart for some key pounding and a sandwich.
It does not take long before I am done with key pounding and pack out to drive to the rental and park for the night.
(Day 452 TG) 53°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, dress, walk inside for some hot water, drive to the d-mart to purchase vegetables and then drive back to the rental to begin work, removing the old deteriorated window trim boards, cleaning windows, cleaning window screens, and painting the wall boards around the window opening. Too, I cut new trim boards and paint them with primer. Another long day of work, ten hours like yesterday and when I stop, everything is hurting. I drive to the w-mart to check com, and do not stay very long, just long enough to update my journal and upload it to the website.
Then, I drive back to the rental and get into the horizontal to read for as long as I can stay awake.
(Day 453 TG) 51°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Begin Eighth Week in Hemet
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, dress, drive to the w-mart, coffee, com, computer and think about how long I have been here in the desert, now starting my eighth week. This, methinks surpasses my previous record for the longest continued work weeks doing restoration work for Richard and Kim, the last record was just under seven weeks on Day 470 JO when I was so ready to resume the journey on. Too, today, I find myself again so ready to resume the journey on, however, there is still work to be done here in Hemet and I must needs increase the hours that I am working to compete all of the work remaining by the end of November, just two weeks away. After studying for the meeting today, I leave the w-mart, drive to the d-mart to purchase vegetables and a gallon of semi-gloss paint for the window trim boards that I have already primed but need finish paint before I can reinstall the boards and windows components.
Looking at my phone, I see that Richard called, then sends me a text telling me that he is not leaving town and can come to resume his painting. I call him back but he does not answer so I make my lunch salad of spinach, yellow onions, green onions, bell pepper, TWJ spice mix, olive oil and vinegar.
While I am eating, Richard drives into the driveway, walks inside and begins looking at all of what I have done. He leaves to get ready for the meeting and I do the same, take a hot shower, dress, drive to the hall and enjoy more instruction from Jehovah God.
(Day 454 TG) 49°F. 5:40 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, and computer but only stay for less than an hour before I pack out and return to the rental arriving at seven to resume the restoration work
Another ten hour day that includes restoring six windows, I stop for the day, get into the hot water and put on clean clothes. As the sun begins to set, I stop to grab my camera to take some photos and I continue to be totally amazed at how beautiful the sunglow is here with a lot of clouds in the sky.
As I am packing out, Richard shows up to resume painting ceiling and walls, so I stick around for conversation and to eat my supper. He tells me that he has a tooth ache so I loan him my rare tea tree oil to use on it. I finally leave at eight to get into the horizontal.
(Day 455 TG) 51°F. 7:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, computer, and conversation with another full time RVer. Then, at six-fifty this morning, I pack out and drive to the rental to resume work. I continue with one task after another, mostly cleaning floors, especially the bedroom floor in preparation for laying vinyl flooring. I stop at noon for my Daystart, after which I resume working. At three this afternoon,
Richard arrives and together, we begin working on cutting the rolled vinyl so that it fits the floor layout. Then, at five-thirty, he leaves to get supper for the two of us and we eat together and soon after we call it done for the day.
Just after the sun sets, it begins to get very windy and soon after that, a light rain begins marking the arrival of a cold front which is supposed to drop the temperatures for the rest of November to seventy degrees and below during the days with nighttime in the low forties and high thirties. I tell Richard that I will be leaving at the end of November.
After twelve hours, I stop, take a shower and then pack out to the jammer for the evening. Before getting horizontal, I turn on the computer to write my journal entry for today. Soon after, I shut down the electronics, turn off the light and get into my birth to sleep.
(Day 456 TG) 49°F. 6:00 am, rainy
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, go inside to turn of the night lights, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, computer and I upload some of the latest photos for the ongoing restoration work. Today is the day for gluing the bedroom floor and when Richard arrives, we begin doing that. After we finish the gluing, Richard works in the rain on top in cleaning and sealing the roof.
I continue work on the new outside lamp for the west side of the rental to light up the driveway. By six, I am totally done with this work and go out for a Mexican meal.
Arriving back shortly after eight this evening, I go directly into the horizontal position.
(Day 457 TG) 50°F. 6:00 am, overcast
Overnighting at rental property
Up early, dress, walk inside to turn of the night lights, take a hot shower and drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I get caught up on my journal writing, photo cropping, page updates, uploads, and then do some posting on social media.
By eleven this morning, I have finished the computer key pounding and pack out to work on the jammer for the rest of my day off. By late in the afternoon, I have the right side complete with primer but I have to drive to the d-mart to purchase another can of the cobalt metallic paint.
The Quest for

(b4wheels-1997-2019-1121.1540) Continue to work on the Rear Bumper
However, by the time I do that, it has cooled off too much to spay the blue paint. I should have time Sunday to work more on the bumper.
I drive to the w-mart to pound keys unto eight this evening, after which, I drive to the rental and get into the horizontal.
(Day 458 TG) 43°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, go inside to turn of the night lights, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, and computer. This morning, I spend an hour setting up the format for the next journey on and when that is done, I pack out and drive back to resume the restoration of the rental.
This has been another very long day of work, but it did not really seem like it was that long mostly likely because I do enjoy doing restoration work. Always have and probably will continue to enjoy it for all of my life.
Except for a very few items, I am able to complete the restoration of the rental bed room today.
(Day 459 TG) 42°F. 6:00 am, sunny
Overnighting at rental property
Awake to a cold morning, dress in my winter blues, turn off the night lights, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. In only a short time, however, I am back at the rental in the kitchen and work another long day. Richard comes be for a short time to see the progress.
I continue until six pm before I stop, clean up, take a hot shower and drive to the w-mart to upload my journal. After only an hour there, I return and get into the horizontal.
(Day 460 TG) 43°F. 6:00 am, sunny
Begin Ninth Week in Hemet
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, dress in my winter blues, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. Then, at eight thirty, I pack out to the jammer, don my ministry clothes and drive to the hall for the ministry meeting where Richard offers to take me on a few of his calls for an hour.
Afterwards, I drive back to the rental and return to building the new bumper and am able to use the one right side wing, which now has become a test side wing, and build two wings, one for each side of the bumper. I am able to cut the first two parts for both wings but still have two addition parts for each side which I will work on some time soon. Too, I have to find a good combination for primer plus finish paints that will adhere well to the wood that I am using. Richard arrives about one this afternoon and goes up on the roof to work on the roof sealant and he leaves at about two-thirty to prepare for the meeting.
I too put away all the tools and don once again my meeting clothes, drive to the hall for the week end meeting after which, I go out for Mexican food. Finally, I return to the rental and compose my journal entry for today.
At eight this evening, I turn of the computer and get into the horizontal to read and then finally close my eyes.
(Day 461 TG) 42°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, dress, turn off the night light, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I arrive back at the rental before seven this morning and keep working all day. At sunset, I take photos of the sunglow as it wanes into blueglow. Richard arrives after the sunset, begins painting and he has bought caulk so I grab one of the tubes and continue working by filling holes and cracks.
At nine this evening, I stop take a shower and afterwards go outside to the jammer. I get into the horizontal soon after.
(Day 462 TG) 39°F. 6:00 am, sunny
Overnighting at rental property
Awake to a cold morning but because I purchased a small electric heater, I slept very comfortable last night. I walk inside to turn off the night lights and then drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer.
Then, I drive back to the rental and resume the work of cleaning the first two kitchen windows and the sliding entry door. I also begin clean the living room floor getting it ready for the vinyl.
(Day 463 TG) 47°F. 6:00 am, cloudy
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, turn of the night lights, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer and shortly before seven, pack out to the rental and resume the restoration work. Richard arrives much earlier today and begins painting walls and ceilings. I continue painting the trim around doors, windows, and also install the bath room towel racks and grab bars.
At two-thirty in the afternoon, Richard asks if I want to go for something to eat and say yes. He suggests Chipotle and I say that the fish tacos at La Bufadora are each a dollar off on Wednesday. We go for the fish tacos and we both agree that they are the best. After eating, we go to the hw-mart for some screws, glue for the living room and kitchen vinyl flooring and then head back to continue working. Shortly after arriving, I see the sun beginning to set so I go outside for a photo of the suntouch.
I stop at eight this evening, pack out, take a hot shower and then sit down and talk while Richard finishes painting all the ceilings and walls. We discuss what is left, and agree that flooring in the living room and kitchen-dining room are next on the list. There are also the painting of the dining room cabinets but Richard says that he will do that later. Then we also have to finish a little more work in the bathroom before we can put the flooring in it. Finally, there grass carpet need to be installed on the deck. There it is, what is keeping me here in Hemet, but that should all get done in the next few days.
At nine, Richard leaves and I go out to the jammer, plug in, turn on the heater and my computer so that I can write my journal entry for today. By nine-thirty, I turn off the lights and get into the horizontal.
(Day 464 TG) 41°F. 7:00 am, rain
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, walk inside to turn off the night light, then drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. At seven, I look outside and see a full rainbow, the first on that I have seen here in the desert since arriving in September. Soon after, I pack out, drive back to the rental and resume the restoration work.
I begin with cleaning the living room floor in preparations of installing the vinyl with Richard later, first sweeping twice and then moping twice. It is so amazing that after all the many times that I have swept and mop this floor that the dirt keeps coming up. Also, I do many other miscellaneous tasks around the rental completing many of them.
When Richard arrives, we begin the flooring installation, first carrying the rolled vinyl in from the outside deck shed into the living room, roll it flat and let it begin warming up to room temperature. Then, we fold it over upon itself so that we can pick it up and rotate it ninety degrees so that it lays in then direction that it will be installed. Once we get one corner in place, we align the vinyl along the east wall and soon, we are cutting the edges to fit the vinyl into the living room. After four hours, we have got the entire piece of vinyl laying flat on the floor and up against the walls.
At this point, Richard says, Lets go eat! Is there anything open? to which I answer, Yes, the hg-mart and they have some sandwiches and soup, both hot. I know that they are tasty because I have already eaten there. We clean up and drive to the hg-mart for our meal.
Upon arriving back at the rental, we roll the vinyl up from the kitchen to the end of the sliding door, begin applying the adhesive to the floor and then roll the vinyl back on to the sticky stuff. After the north side of the flooring is glued down, we next roll up the vinyl from the hallway back to where reached the glued section and resumed applying the adhesive to the south side of the sliding doors. After several hours on my knees troweling adhesive onto the old floor surface, we roll out the last piece of the living floor and finish the second room in the march to complete all four rooms.
Finally, we clean up our tools, ourselves and begin packing out, Richard so that he can drive to his work in Los Angeles county and myself into the back of the jammer to get into the horizontal.
(Day 465 TG) 44°F. 6:00 am, sunny
Two Full Months in Hemet
Overnighting at rental property
Upon awakening, I slowly roll over and sit up. Then I begin getting dressed, walk inside to turn off the night lights and drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, and computer. I have a day that I can start a bit later and will use it for some personal things. Then, at noon, I arrive at the rental and begin work completing several projects. However, I am having trouble with tracking paint and other foot stickers onto the new vinyl, so, I stop at five this afternoon, drive to the hw-mart and purchase some Ram paper which I saw earlier when both Richard and I was at the store. He did not seem to be impressed but I knew that if we did not put something over the flooring, we would be constantly cleaning it up.
Also, I stop for some fish tacos and after eating, I drive back to the rental and install a strip of the floor protector over the new living room vinyl floor. At seven this evening after taking another photo of the crescent moon, this time a waxing crescent, I stop for the day, climb into the back of the jammer and pound keys for a while before getting into the horizontal to read more in the book of Revelation.
At eight-thirty, I have turned off all the devices and close my eyes for the night.
(Day 466 TG) 38°F. 5:50 am, partly cloudy
Overnighting at rental property
Awake before my alarm, rise, go into the rental briefly and then drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. At eight-twenty this morning, I pack out, dress in my meeting clothes and go to the ministry meeting and see clearly the snow atop of San Jacinto Mountains.
After a short morning in the ministry, I return to the rental and resume the restoration of the rental. I begin by doing many miscellaneous tasks, keeping busy while working towards the completion of this restoration work, which is ever so close now.
In the mid-afternoon, Richard arrives and we begin laying the kitchen vinyl flooring. This is the toughest install yet but both of us go right into the cutting and have it nearing accomplished by the time he leaves at five-thirty, to drive to Temecula, a town southeast of Hemet, where he hopes to find the vinyl for the bathroom.
I continue with the install, complete the main section and continue fitting the many cut pieces into the bottom of the cabinets which really dresses up the cabinets.
At nine this evening, I am done with the kitchen floor, well at least the cutting part of the install, the gluing will begin tomorrow.
(Day 467 TG) 41°F. 5:59 am, sunny
Begin Tenth Week in Hemet
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, look outside and see the beginning on the sunglow and say to myself, It is time to get up! and immediately, my alarm sounds. I rise, dress in my winter blues, go inside to turn off the night lights, and begin my drive for coffee but on the way, I see a grand sunrise, stop, take a couple of photos and then continue drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. Then at nine this morning, I stop working on my journal and begin doing my Bible study for the meeting today. After that is complete, I pack out, drive to the rental and begin cleaning and framing the last dining room window.
Richard arrives shortly after twelve and wants to get going on the gluing of the kitchen floor, however, I tell him that I am stopping work for the day in thirty minutes but we can do it tomorrow. I also say to him that today would be good to climb up to the roof and work there since it is such a warm sunny day, probably one of the last this year. He agrees, get his tools and climbs up to the roof to work.
Meanwhile, I do a floor repair after which I take a shower and go out to the jammer to write my journal entry for this part of today. When two-twenty arrives, I drive to the hall for the weekend meeting.
Afterwards, I drive to the hg-mart for supper and eat the food on the way to the w-mart. Inside the w-mart, I check my com and pound keys until nearly eight, when I pack out, drive to the rental and get into the horizontal.
(Day 468 TG) 45°F. 6:00 am, sunny
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, dress in my winter blues, and drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. At nine this morning, I pack out and drive to the rental to resume the restoration work but upon arriving find that there is a planned power outage and without electricity, I can not work. So, instead, I clean the jammer, organize my pantry and put up the two rear side light blocking panels.
Richard stops by at about noon and tells me that he is coming by to work on the roof. Shortly after he arrives, I leave to do some food shopping and then head back to the rental and find the power back on. At sunset, I climb onto the roof for the desert sunglow display.
I then work with Richard for a few hours before stopping, taking a hot shower and driving to the w-mart for WiFi. Finally, I return to get into the back of the jammer for so horizontal time.
(Day 469 TG) 47°F. 6:00 am, overcast
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, dress, turn off lights, drive, coffee, com, computer, yes, still in Hemet. At seven-thirty this morning, I pack out and drive to the rental and resume the restoration. I begin the floor preparations in the bath room getting it ready for the vinyl to be installed. First, I scrape the floor of all the loose old flooring, next, I paint the old floor with primer and third, I remove the toilet. Richard arrives and we leave to go get materials and also stop for a lunch at the hg-mart. I have a Greek salad and add avocado. He has shrimp and cooked vegetables. Afterwards, we both have a small cup of coffee. Then, we return to the rental and resume work.
He leaves to go to an appointment but I stay and continue working. I finish the bathroom floor and then begin gluing down the kitchen floor but stop half way through to get ready for the meeting tonight. I pack up, put away the tools and then take a shower after wards I put on my meeting clothes and drive to the hall.
After a very nice meeting, I return to the rental to park for the night.
(Day 470 TG) 51°F. 5:15 am, rain
Overnighting at rental property
Awake long before the alarm but just lie there in hope of a few more winks but finally rise, dress in my fall blues and drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. While here, I upload some photos to my social media and then pack out to resume the restoration work.
Richard arrives at ten this morning and soon after we leave to check for availability of vinyl for the hall way and bathroom. We find out that there is some of the viny to match the bedroom in another near by town so after he drops me off at the rental, he drives there to purchase the vinyl flooring.
I continue working on a lot of little projects. First, I install the trim around the kitchen window, after which I move to the bathroom to work on the trim around the tub surround and also repair a damaged area near the tub.
Richard returns with the vinyl and we begin marking it for install. As I am packing tools away, I stop to discuss with Richard how we will install the hall and bathroom vinyl, deciding to do it in two pieces and seaming the vinyl along one of the tile grout lines. I then get into the shower for the hot water, pack out and drive to the w-mart to get online for a short time.
Finally, I return to the rental to get horizontal.
(Day 471 TG) 42°F. 5:30 am, sunny
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, dress in my winter blues, turn off the night lights, drive to the w-mart, coffee, com, computer. After it begins to warm up outside, I pack out and begin my day off chores.
One task that I will work on is cutting and painting my new bumper body, which I choose a two inch by eight inch board and cut it down to just less than six feet long. I use the previous treated wood bumper as a template for drilling the mounting holes and then bolt it to the jammer. The holes fit precisely and there is now trouble mounting the new bumper. I then work on the side sections and get them cut and ready to mount. Next, I take the wood pieces to the paint room, set them up on the paint table and begin spraying the cobalt blue metallic paint.
Next, in the list of tasks for today is to replace the engine oil in the jammer, a task that I have become good at doing since I most always do it myself. I have never timed how long it takes me but I suppose that it would be about an hour, most of which is to get out and put away the jack, jack stand, mat, tools and set up for the job. After I change the engine oil and install a new filter, I pour the old oil back into the empty oil bottle to be taken to the auto parts for recycling.
This day is a little different because I am also replacing the transmission fluid and this is the first time that I have done it on this jammer but have replaced the transmission fluid on both of the two older Ford Aerostar vans but do not expect to have a problem. Nevertheless, I get out my repair manual and read the instructions prior to beginning.
One thing that I do notice is different with this 1997 van is that the pan bolts are much larger than to older vans which methinks may solves the problem of the smaller bolts becoming loose. The fluid changes go well with no problems what so ever. I then pour the old transmission fluid into the empty fluid bottles.
Then, I clean up the area, put away the tools and then go inside and take a hot shower. Afterwards, I drive to the w-mart to get online for a short time before driving back to the rental for the night.
(Day 472 TG) 49°F. 7:40 am, rain
Overnighting at rental property
After a rough night, sleep late before rising to begin the restoration work. I spend a long day working on the hall flooring and then begin the bathroom sink cabinets. Once I start cleaning the inside of the cabinets, I find that the drain pipes are rotted and leaking. When I move the pipes to find out where the leak is coming from the pipe breaks and the trap empties on the floor. After I clean up the water, I drive to the hw-mart for a new p-trap and drain pipes. The drain pipes that came with the faucet is for a sink with a body drain which this sink does not have, but I find the right drain pipe in the RV section of the hw-mart.
I continue the restoration work until after 8 this evening before stopping, cleaning up and packing out. Long day, and expect a long one tomorrow as well.
Finally, I climb into the back of the jammer and get into the horizontal.
(Day 473 TG) 52°F. 6:00 am, rain
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, dress, turn off night lights, drive to the w-mart, coffee, com, computer and then return to the rental to resume the restoration work. I work on the bath room repairs before I can cut in the vinyl flooring. As soon as I begin to clean out the inside of the cabinet, I find out why the floor is wet, the chrome metal pipe is rotted and when I try to tighten it, it breaks wide open. I make a trip to the hw-mart for a p-trap and a sink drain and then put is all back together.
I spend some time on the kitchen sink cabinet doors, getting them cleaned up and ready to be installed on the cabinet. Too, I cut and install the trim around the kitchen window, even building a shelf on the inside. Also, I begin cutting and installing the trim around the tub surround.
Finally, after another nine hour day, I clean up, take a shower, and pack out to drive to the w-mart to write and upload my journal entry. A little after eight this evening, I pack out, drive back to the rental and climb into the back for some horizontal time.
(Day 474 TG) 54°F. 6:00 am, overcast, rain
Begin Eleventh Week in Hemet
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, lie in the sack for a few minutes, then rise, dress, turn off night lights, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, and computer. Another day closer to my Journey On and this one is spent working on the bumper for the jammer. I install the main cross piece, now painted cobalt blue metallic. Afterwards, I begin working on the end caps, both of which have three main pieces and a small cover plate. I get two of the pieces for both sides cut and installed and then begin working on the third before it is time to get ready for the meeting today.
After my shower, I dress in my meeting clothes and then drive to the hall for my last meetings at the Hemet Kingdom Hall. After the meeting, I drive back to the rental to change back into my fall blues.
I drive to the Mexican restaurant that I have decided to be the best in Hemet, La Bufadora Grill and have shrimp tacos, beans, rice, chips and salsa. This too will be the last time I eat at this restaurant but I am so glad that I found it.
Next, I drive back to the rental and get into the back to read through several chapters in the Bible book of Revelation. I so enjoy reading in this part of the Bible.
Finally, I get into the horizontal for the night, a little early but extra sleep never hurt me.
(Day 475 TG) 44°F. 5:40 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
The rain that has been wetting the desert for several days has stopped, the sun returned to take it′s place for now. This I am glad for because it makes for a damp place to sleep when living in a vehicle during the rainy season. Upon arising, I dress in my winter blues, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, computer an to update my journal entry and current work page online and then create one more post on social media.
At nine-something, I drive to the rental and continue the restoration in the bathroom. I still have not reinstalled the toilet because I had removed it over a week ago in expectation of installing the flooring. The flooring for the bathroom lies on the living room floor awaiting for the installation but I as still doing repairs and restoration there. Methinks the bathroom floor will, however, be installed soon.
I work another long day and afterwards, clean up, take a few photos, take a hot shower in the now finished tub and surround, pack out and drive to the d-mart for a new broom to replace my totally worn out one. I also buy some coconut milk and peanut butter crackers. Then, I drive back to the rental, plug in, turn on the heater and climb into the back of the jammer.
Methinks, now that I have only two days of work left, it has been a very long sojourn here in the desert and this sojourn has wreaked havoc on this old man′s body. Still, I have much about my fall sojourn to be thankful for.
When photographing the sunglow this evening, it reminds me of what I have enjoyed the most during the past seventy-two days, that of the numerous clear sunny skies beginning and ending with such remarkable sunglow.
The 2019 Journey
December Sunglow
(m5da-sunglow-19-12.20191209.1655) Evening Sunglow in Crystal Clear Sky
Too, I have also enjoyed the restoration to the Palm Avenue rental that I have been doing, and the constant comments by the owner Richard saying, Wow, I can′t believer how nice this looks! Still, I must give Richard the credit for how this mobile home has turned out because he has been working right along with me on many of the days and has been directing then entire project.
Yes, there are only two days left to complete all that I can and will focus on both the bathroom and kitchen, unless of course, Richard directs me differently. I especially hope to get the bathroom floor installed so that I can reinstall the toilet. It now sits in the tool shed completely cleaned awaiting to return to it′s job of covering the hole in the bathroom floor.
Many of my friends have been asking me, Where are you going next? to which I have been answering, To where it is warmer! Yes, my next stop in my journey on is to find my hiatus for this winter. Besides the one that has been such for most of the past ten years, that is the south of Texas along the Rio Grand river, I will also try to locate in Arizona again this month somewhere south of Tucson in the national forest.
Finally, I retire to the rear of the jammer with my thoughts
(Day 476 TG) 43°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, dress, lie back down and after a half hour get up, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, and computer. Just before nine this morning, I pack out and drive back to the rental to resume the restoration.
After a very long day restoring the bathroom, I walk outside to check out the sunset and find it already set and the sunglow to be totally brilliant. So I go to the jammer to retrieve my camera and climb up to the roof to take photos. To my absolute surprise, upon climbing to the roof, I see that the sun is casting on top of San Jacinto mountain, an atmospheric phenomenon called an alpenglow, and this is my very first time to see one.
After the photo shoot, I return to the restoration and work until I am too tired to continue. I put away the tools, clean up the rental, take a shower and then drive to the w-mart to connect to the internet but the store has changed it′s hours and closes earlier than I expected. I will have to return in the morning to upload these photos.
I drive back to the rental and get into the horizontal for the evening.
(Day 477 TG) 50°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, turn off the night lights, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer, upload photos and my journal entry. Then, I drive to the rental for my last day of work.
I get busy trying to do as much of the last minute tasks, but there are so many of them that it takes many hours. Then Richard shows up with Jennie and we get busy on installing the bathroom flooring. After we get it completely cut into place, we begin gluing it down, then we glue down the hall wall vinyl flooring and finally, we glue the dining room vinyl. I also re-install the toilet on the new bathroom floor.
After another long day, Richard leaves to go to his job in the city and I continue to clean up and put away all the tools which talks until after nine this evening.
Totally exhausted, I take a hot shower, put on clean clothes and retire for the evening.
(Day 478 TG) 45°F. 6:00 am, sunny, partly cloudy
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, rise, walk inside to turn off the night lights, check out the newly re-installed toilet, the first time it has been in place and working since Day 469 TG, for ten days that have seemed to me a long ten days for not having a toilet to use. Still, I have got by without it, just as I have been doing most all of my life, in fact, having a toilet is like having hot showers, really just another luxury.
How do I go without a toilet? That is something I learned when I was in the Boy Scouts, it is really simple, just like taking a cold shower.
I have completed my part of the restoration because I had told Richard that I would not leave until all the inside floors have new vinyl flooring. Yes, Richard has paid me for my work and I have money to travel, time on my hand, tired legs to rest up and friends both new and old to search out.
In fact, I am back in journey on status, on the road again, full of the wanderlust, off to the back roads with a full moon to light my way. However, before I leave out of Hemet, California, I have a few chores to do, first of which is to go back to the rental and finish the work I have been doing on creating a new bumper for the rear of the 1997 jammer. Also, I must needs do my laundry and take one last hot shower before I turn off the water at the Palm Avenue rental.
After turning off the night lights and while walking to the jammer, I notice that there is a glow in the sky, so I grab my camera and go to the roof for the sunglow display, maybe my last one for here in the desert plain valley. Turning around, I look to the western horizon and there in the haze, I see the full Snow moon
Then, I go into the rental and begin cleaning up the kitchen, living room and bathroom getting them ready for one final photo shoot. Too, there are several tasks that still need to be done such as putting the cabinet doors back on but that does not take too much time. Also, I take all the tools, materials and other items out of these three rooms for the photos.
After taking the photos, I also am able to work on the jammer, installing right bumper wing and painting the left wing. While waiting on the paint to dry, I vacuum the interior with Richard′s new shop vac and it does a really good job.
Then, I take a hot shower, pack out, drive to the w-mart to upload the photos and my journal entry, after which, I make a post on social media. After that, I drive back to the rental and park for the night.

The Journey to the Winter Hiatus Go Down Go Up
(Day 479 TG) 41°F. 6:00 am, sunny, crystal clear
Overnighting at rental property
Awake, dress in my winter blues, walk inside for one last time to turn off the night lights here at the Palm Avenue rental before I pack out and drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I was not able to do my laundry yesterday so it has been rescheduled for this morning.
Too, I have one more piece of the bumper to finish before I drive out of Hemet. Ever since the leaves began showing colors, the temperature at night has dropped and for the next week or more, it will be in the low thirties each night, even freezing on a couple. It is time to get out of town.
The first leg of my Journey east is through the California portion of the North American geographic region know as the Pacific Coast Ranges. Where I begin this journey on, I will cross the southern most of these ranges called the Peninsular Mountains.
The journey on begins shortly after noon. I drive east out of Hemet and the desert valley plain on SR 74 to Mountain Center, California, turn right and continue on SR 74. I cross briefly the San Jacinto Mountains range at the Pacific Crest Trail reaching an elevation of 5000 feet, then enter the Santa Rosa Mountains, climb to Pinyon Crest, and stop at the BLM national monument visitors center.
After getting my window sticker, I continue on the east side of these Peninsular ranges down to another desert valley plain, the one called by most Palm Spring valley. After turning on SR 111, I continue east to SR 86 and turn south towards the Salton Sea, stopping in Mecca, California at the w-mart for food, com and computer. When it gets too late for me to stay awake any longer, I retire to the jammer and find a place to park for the night.
(Day 480 TG) 46°F. 6:00 am, sunny, some clouds
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake at four-forty and must needs get out a second sleeping bag to be able to sleep to dawn. Then arise, start the engine to warm up the jammer while getting dressed in my winter blues. Next, go into the w-mart for coffee, com and computer to start my day while all the while watching a very colorful morning sunglow.
A short time later, I drive south on SR 86 in search of the silver pelican as I would love to once again photograph this rare bird, however, on this journey, the silver bird remains elusive.
Leaving the Salton Sea, I enter the Basing and Ranges region and continue all day driving over four hundred miles to arrive in Benton, Arizona just before the sunset. I am so extremely tired from the all day drive that I find a place to park, type a quick journal entry and upload only a couple of photos.
Soon after the upload is complete, I get into the horizontal and read in my Bible until I am ready to sleep.
After such a long day of travel, I end up going right to sleep at about seven this evening.
(Day 481 TG) 45°F. 4:00 am, clear
Overnighting in a parking lot
I decided to set my alarm for earlier to get a good start on the four hour drive to El Paso so that I could be there for the meeting if it begins at ten this morning. I am on IH 10 by eight minutes after four, and drive in the dark for about an hour before seeing the start of a slight glow of the sun rising to the horizon. Then the glow slowly grows to bring light and warmth to the morning for nearly an hour before the very first moment of suntouch at eight minutes after seven this morning. I continue taking photos of the dispersed mountains throughout this part of the Basin and Ranges region.
Continuing east on IH 10, I arrive in El Paso just after eight this morning, drive directly to the w-mart for coffee, com, computer and find that the meeting today is at noon. So, I update my journal entry and then begin my study for the meeting, only to find out that I have already done the study.
At eleven this morning, I pack out, dress in my meeting clothes, drive to the hall to meet with the friends. Lindsey greets me by name and I meet several new friends including Noah. After the meeting, I talk with Carlos, a student and try to encourage him. Then, I leave the hall, drive back to the w-mart to continue pounding keys and uploading photos and words.
It is late when I finally stop, pack out to the jammer for the night.
(Day 482 TG) 44°F. 8:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting in a parking lot
Sleep late this morning, most likely still tired from the two days of driving. I dress in my winter blues, walk inside for coffee, com and computer. Yesterday at the meeting, Lindsey had asked me how long I was staying and I told him one week, but upon finding out that the temperature all week will be in the low thirties, even freezing tonight, I decide to leave out today and drive further into Texas.
At about one this afternoon, I pack out, start the jammer and drive back over Franklin Mountain to IH 10, then south to exit eleven where I get off of the interstate and drive east on Mesa Drive so that I can make another food stop at a hg-mart, in fact two of them. Once my pantry is beginning to look a little more stocked, I get back on IH 10, turn east and drive out of the valley plain known as El Paso and move further east into Texas.
When well on my way, I look at my atlas and pick a location, put it into my GPS and find it to be a five hour drive, some two hundred and fifty miles. Too, there is a d-mart just off the interstate highway. I then press the go button and begin the long drive for me to my next overnight stop.
Nearly the entire drive is still in the Basin and Range region, however, once arriving at the junction of IH 10 to the southeast and IH 20 to the northeast, the mountains look more like mesas or flat top table land. Then, at Balmorhea, Texas, the geographic terrain begins to change from sporadically dispersed mountain ranges in flat basin valleys, to these same mountains rapidly decreasing in height with larger valleys turning into what looks more like canyons. Geographically, this must be the start of the region I have learned to be the Great Plains here in Texas.
Soon after that, the sun sets and I continue east into the Great Plains to Fort Stockton, Texas, leave the interstate highway and drive to the d-mart to gas up and park for the evening.
Once I do park the jammer, I get out my computer and pound keys to add the journal entry for today. Then, I turn off the electronics and get into the horizontal.
Tuesday, 17 December 2019, Fort Stockton, TX.
(Day 483 TG) 32°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting in a parking lot
After a very cold night, I rise, start the jammer engine, turn on the heater, lie back down and immediately fall back to sleep. Then the alarm goes off at six and I arise in a warmed up jammer. I do not do this often but by five this morning, it had gotten well below freezing and I just needed some heat on me. Then by six, it had warmed up to above freezing and I get up, dress and drive out of the parking lot, onto IH 10 and continue my drive east.
Like late yesterday, my travel today, at least for a short time, continues thru mesa tops and valleys, but still within the Great Plains region. The bottom of this region, primarily that which is in Texas is divided into sub-regions, which from west to east, are: Toyah Basin, Stockton Plateau, Edwards Plateau and Llano Basin; places that I have learned about through the years of travel but did not know how they were interconnected with the Great Plains. Also, what I learned in my research is that the Hill Country is a part of the Edwards Plateau.
Driving east on IH 10, I exit at exit 488 into Mountain Home and then follow SH 27 southeast through Ingram and then into Kerrville, Texas. I stop at an overlook along Johnston Creek and believe from the looks of the topography that this is the Balcones Escarpment marking the bottom of the Great Plains, and dividing it from the Coastal Plains region on the opposite side of this creek. Then, I drive to Kerrville, Texas, stop at the w-mart and begin work on cropping photos and updating web pages.
At eight this evening, I pack out, drive across the street to the d-mart and find a place to park for the evening.
(Day 484 TG) 25°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting in a parking lot
After another very cold night, one which caused me to bring out all three of my blankets that had been packed into a bin. Even so, by four-thirty this morning, I must needs start the jammer and turn on the heater for an hour to warm me during the coldest part of the night. Then at six, I rise, turn the engine back on and while it warms the inside of the jammer, dress in my winter blues. Then, I drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer while looking out at the Guadalupe river.
I take a day off from my travels which up until today have been mostly eastward. When I resume my travels tomorrow, there will be one more destination that will talk me east, that of the chicken ranch in Wimberley, Texas where I will make a short stop to have an salmon and onion omelet with my sister before I turn the direction of my travel south.
After the sun sets, I drive to my favorite Mexican restaurant and have Fish Tacos before driving to the d-mart to park for the night.
(Day 485 TG) 20°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting in a parking lot
Even though I still get up early to start the jammer engine to warm up the interior and myself, the cold night did not seem as cold to me as the past two night did. Methinks, I must be getting used to the cold somewhat. When the interior is warm enough for me to rise, I get up, dress in my winter blues, drive to the ff-mart for a cup of coffee and then continue my drive east to the chicken ranch in Wimberley.
On the way the way to the ranch, I stop at Pedernales Falls state park for a shower, after which I check out the birds at the blind where I meet Lauren who is one of the volunteers feeding the birds. We talk for a short time while I am snapping photos of the Black-crested titmouse, orange-crowned warbler, scrub jays, cardinal, ladder-backed woodpecker house finch and a few others.
Just before arriving at the chicken ranch, I call to let Susan know that I am close and when she answers, says that she was thinking about me and was just now going out to feed the chickens. I tell her that I will meet here at the chicken coop.
Arriving at the ranch, the gate is already opened and I drive in and park near the Pit Room in front of the chicken coop. I see Susan at the coop so I get out of the jammer and walk towards her and she give me a huge hug when I arrive there. We talk for a time and then I ask her if I can have an omelet to which she shows me the egg refrigerator and asks, What do you want, white or brown? I tell her brown and pick some of the eggs to carry. Then we go into the ranch house to the kitchen and then I begin cooking eggs.
I had brought in with me a can of pink salmon, an onion and my spice mix to use with the eggs and when they are done, Susan and I sit down for our breakfast. Later, Chad comes in from cleaning the chicken coops and sits down with us. Finally, we say our good byes and I drive off the ranch to head into town where I will go to the meeting tonight, but first go to the w-mart for WiFi and key pounding.
I pack out at six this evening, dress in my meeting clothes and then drive to the hall for the meeting. Several of the friends tell me that they recognize me to which I tell them that I was here in February when I was waiting for my title to come in the mail. Too, I let them know that I will most likely be coming back through here on my annual migration between south Texas and places north.
Friday, 20 December 2019, San Marcos, TX.
(Day 486 TG) 46°F. 8:00 am, rain
Overnighting in a parking lot
Finally, the cold has released it′s grip on the hill country but following close behind it′s retreat is an overcast sky, drizzling rain and humid wet. I sleep in this morning but upon arising, purchase fuel for the jammer and then drive south into the coastal plains of Texas. I drive through New Braunfels where I have often stopped at Comal Springs to fill my water bottles but today, I just do not need any water.
I continue southwest on IH 35 in the rain and because it is raining choose not to drive to Padre Island NP, not wanting to camp in the wet sand but I stop not far from San Antonio at a w-mart to go in out of the wet, look at the weather forecast for south Texas and decide where I will go to stay warm and dry. I search my atlas for a place to stop tonight and finally choose the d-mart in Alice, Texas on US 281 not far after I leave IH 37.
It is after dark when I pull into the store parking lot, drive to a corner and get into the back of the jammer for the night, listening to the rain steadily tapping on the outside of the jammer.
(Day 487 TG) 52°F. 7:00 am, rain
Winter Solstice
Overnighting in a parking lot
Upon awaking this morning to an overcast and dark day, I wonder where the sun has gone, but it does not take me long before I realize that this is the shortest day of the year, no matter where you find yourself. After a short time inside the store, I return to the jammer, start the engine and drive out of town on US 281 to cross the last one hundred and fifty miles to my winter hiatus.
It is raining when I begin this drive and it is raining when I finish the drive, so I stop at a w-mart, park the jammer and go inside to stay dry. I will stay here for at least the next ten days and begin work on my winter writing project. Previous journeys, when there was less weather to contend with, I would visit some of the many birding locations in this area.
South Padre is a popular birding spot but it is often much to busy for me, however, my favorite has always been Salineno Wildlife Refuge. Most likely, I will spend time at a few of these birding sites to photographs the Audubon′s oriole, green jay, little blue heron, great Kiskadee, orange-crowned warbler, northern pintail and others many of which can only be seen here along the Rio Grande river at the bottom of Texas.
Still, I have arrived at the bottom of Texas, often called the citrus zone, and while I am here, hope to compose the next episode of The Wayfarers Journal.

The Sojourn in the Rio Grande Valley Go Down Go Up
Sunday, 22 December 2019, Harlingen, TX.
(Day 488 TG) 47°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting on a street
Awake to an hazy morning but there is a clear sky above so I expect it will soon be sunny. I go inside the w-mart for coffee, com and computer to study for the meeting today. Then, at nine this morning, I pack out, put on my meeting clothes, drive to the hall and walk inside to a very warm congregation of friends. After the meeting I visit for a short time, answering question about my visit which I say will be about four weeks.
Then, upon walking outside to the jammer while talking to the visiting speaker, we are approached by a man and his daughter asking for money to buy gas so that they can drive to Houston to see his wife who is in the hospital. One of the brother offers to buy him some gas if he would follow him to the station but the man says, No, just give me the money. We both decline and walk to out cars but the man continues to approach the friends as they come out. I say to the brother, our brothers and sisters are too smart to fall for his scam.
I drive to the w-mart, change into my fall blues and walk inside to work on my computer. After sunset, I drive to a restaurant for supper after which I stop at a car wash to put the clean on the jammer and then to my parking place on the street near the w-mart for the night.
Monday, 23 December 2019, Harlingen, TX.
(Day 489 TG) 44°F. 7:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting on a street
Awake to a day with a crystal clear blue sky and the rain has stopped even thought there is moisture still hanging thick on to the outside of the jammer windows. I rise, dress in my winter blues and walk inside the w-mart for coffee, com, and computer. At eight-thirty, I pack out, dress in my ministry clothes and drive to the hall for the ministry meeting. I work with Craig, Fabian and two others and we go into a territory and do a morning of door to door witnessing.
In the afternoon, I return to the w-mart to continue my work on Episode Three and get two chapters compiled and organized. I stop the book work at about seven and leave looking for something healthy to eat and end up eating trout with turnip greens, broccoli, kale salad and biscuits. Then, I return to the street next to the w-mart parking lot where I have been overnighting and spend another night.
(Day 490 TG) 42°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting on a street
Awake to another clear day with heavy dew and a touch of fog early on. I walk into the w-mart for coffee, com and computer, staying inside until the early afternoon when I drive to the e-mart to find a fix for my phone. After that, I stop at the hg-mart for some organic fruit and vegetables.
Finally, I drive back to Harlingen to the w-mart and set up for the night.
(Day 491 TG) 60°F. 7:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting on a street
Another beautiful day here in the citrus zone. I awake, dress in my winter blues and walk into the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I dress in my winter blues because even though the temperature outside is comfortable, the w-mart turns on their air-conditioner making it too cold inside the store for me. Once inside, I resume working on writing the episode.
(Day 492 TG) 62°F. 6:00 am, cloudy and humid
Overnighting on a street
Awake to one more day in South Texas with a typical comfortably warm winter day. I go through my regular routine which includes: putting on my winter blues, coffee, com, computer and today, I pack out at eight for the ministry.
In the afternoon, I return to the w-mart to continue pounding keys until it gets dark and then retire for the night.
Friday, 27 December 2019, Harlingen, TX.
(Day 493 TG) 65°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Overnighting on a street
Awake to still another day of perfect weather, of which I spend pounding keys in the w-mart. At nine this evening, I pack out and walk to the jammer to retire.
(Day 494 TG) 66°F. 6:00 am, cloudy
Overnighting on a street
Awake with it still dark but there is a dry wind blowing. Later, when the sun rises, there is a layer of clouds low in the sky. At eight-thirty this morning, I pack out to prepare for the ministry this morning and work with Ozzy and his family. After nearly two hours of not at homes, we depart from the territory with only one good call Rigo who said he would like to hear from us again.
On the return to the w-mart, I stop for some fish tacos and after the lunch, drive to the w-mart to get back to work on the episode.
After a very long day pounding keys to arrange the words to create and write more chapters of Episode Three, I retire to a night of sleep in the jammer.
Sunday, 29 December 2019, Harlingen, TX.
(Day 495 TG) 52°F. 8:00 am, cloudy
Overnighting on a street
Sleep late this morning after the late night, then rise, dress, and walk in to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I prepare for the meeting today and at nine, I pack out to the jammer, change into my meeting clothes and drive to the hall for the weekend meeting and a study about how Jehovah requires exclusive devotion.
After the meeting, I get into the jammer, put in the coordinates for Falcon State Park and drive the two hours it takes to get there. I arrive in the mid afternoon, check in for the night and ask for site number 69 telling the ranger, that is how old I am. I then drive to the shower house and get into the very hot water just soaking for a long time. Next, I drive to the campsite, set up and begin cleaning up the jammer while supper cooks on my camp stove. When I finish cooking, I put the cook pot inside the jammer on the floor in the back, close up all the doors and walk three campsites north of me to say hello to a fellow camper. His name is Donald, he is from Kansas and has been on the road for a couple of months camping in a tent, visiting parks and taking photos.
We both take photos of the local birds including the vermilion flycatcher and when the sunset occurs, we take several of both the suntouch and sunglow with the Sierra Madre Oriental mountains in Mexico as the back drop.
Finally, I return to the jammer, eat supper, write my journal entry for today and then get into the horizontal. It is only seven this evening so I read for a time before I close my eyes.
Monday, 30 December 2019, Falcon Heights, TX.
(Day 496 TG) 42°F. 6:00 am, sunny and clear
Falcon State Park, #69, CRS: 9.0
Awake before the sunrise, pack out and drive to the shower house, grab my shower bag, towel and clean clothes and then go inside for some hot water. After my second hot shower in as many days, I pack out, drive out of Falcon Park, south on US 83 and stop at a d-mart for some groceries before I continue southeast back to Harlingen where return to the key pounding in the w-mart here.
(Day 497 TG) 50°F. 7:00 am, cloudy and humid
Overnighting on a street
Awake to another overcast day but at least it is currently not raining. I go in for coffee, com and computer but only stay for a short time because I soon pack out and drive to the hall for the ministry meeting. This week is the visit of circuit overseer but we will not see them until the meeting tonight. I work with Kairo, Karen and Fabian in the house to house work for most of the morning. We stop just before I reach my goal of ten hours but I tell one sister, That is alright with me because I am close.
I then leave to return to the w-mart and stay there until about two in the afternoon, after which I go out to the jammer to work on the next batch of my MRP. I had previously mixed three sixteen ounce containers of all the powders and today, I split the mix into six containers, add the supplement powder mix that I had previously mixed and then add more of other powders that I currently have in separate containers. I also add several more powders that I have not used in the past, nor were in the three original contains. When the six containers become full, I split them again into more containers adding additional powders and shaking to mix. I mix most all of the separate powders except for the ground flax powder and the almond meal. I still might add them later.
Just after the sun sets, a man walks up to me to ask me to help him. I tell him that I do not give money, one because I am living on social security and two because most people who ask for money spend it on alcohol or cigarettes. Then, I say, I will give you some food if you want it to which he says yes. I give him two cans of my wild caught tuna and he thanks me. Then, I ask him is he is a Bible reader and he answers, yes. I then share several verses about how God is going to change the earth into a paradise and he seems to like what he is hearing. I also tell him where the hall is and the time for our meeting and he leaves. After he leaves, methinks about my time for the month and do believer the time talking to him helped me to meet my personal goal.
At six-thirty, I stop work on the MRP, put it away, clean up and get ready for the meeting. Then I drive to the hall for the mid-week meeting and circuit overseer visit. Really encouraging parts. Afterwards, I drive back to the w-mart, park and wait for the noise to begin, which does not long after and continues until well after midnight. What a waste of everything this holiday is.
I am so glad to have gotten through another year end full of pagan worshipful celebrations and also sad the all the people have not understanding of how wrong this is and how much it offends God. I then turn off the devices and get into the horizontal for the night.
(Day 498 TG) 58°F. 8:00 am, rain
Overnighting on a street
After sleeping late due to being kept up late last night from the explosions, I walk into the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I have been without access to my web server since Sunday due to the host changing their protocol and I have not been able to find out how to use the new protocol. I will keep trying to figure it out over the next few days. I hope that I succeed in doing so because otherwise, I will have to spend much time finding and setting up a new host, which I really do not want to do.
I stay indoors all day and pound keys, then after nine, I retire to the jammer.

Overnighting on a street
Awake late again, dress in my fall blues and begin driving west on IH 2 to a d-mart to look for new dress shoes but the store that I bought my dress shoes from last time has down sized to an appliance and tool mart. The clerk said that I would need to go online to purchase shoes but I have yet to find the dress shoe I like in my size. I will keep looking. I return to the w-mart in Harlingen and go inside to work on my web site.
Once I log on to the host, I am able to access the site without any problem, upload all the files that I have changed and even upload all the new photos. I am back in business with my web site. At four this afternoon, I go back out to the jammer and continue working on the MRP. I do add the ground flax and a package of Moringa leaf powder which has amino acids and is loaded with antioxidants. When I have completed mixing all the powder ingredients and reconsolidating the finished powder mix, I have seven containers of 16 ounces each and one about half full. I put the seven in the pantry storage and the one partial container in the front pantry for easy access. I will begin using the MRP very soon.
After the food preparations is done and put away, I wash my hands again and then begin installing the new bedding that I have recently purchased. I now have new pillows, pillow liners, and pillow cases. Also, I found a new bed cover to replace the felt blanket that was completely worn out.
Finally, I see that the sunglow has begun, so I take a photo of the jammer

Then, I get in the jammer and drive to a restaurant that I have heard about from some of the friends but I was not to impressed with the meal. Finally, I drive back to the w-mart to upload a few files, after which I return to the jammer for the evening.

Overnighting on a street
Awake, dress in my fall blues, walk inside for coffee, com and computer but do not stay long because this morning I pack our at eight-twenty to dress for the ministry meeting and spend the morning in the ministry.
Then, I drive to a couple of d-mart in search of some new shirts, trousers and shoes. I find two nice dress shirts and two nice dress pants but I still have yet to find a pair of shoes.
Afterwards, I return to the w-mart to pound keys until late. Finally, I go out to the jammer to get into the horizontal.
