The Northern Pintail Go Down Go Up

Range
Most all of the continent. Especially in west, winter in the south and northern upper coastal area.
Habitat
Widespread in shallow fresh water wetlands, often in large flocks. Also in salt marshes and grain fields during winter. Wary, fast flight, agile.
Description
Slender neck, rounded head, blue-gray bill, gray legs. Male has long, pointed tail, brown head with white vertical line on neck extending from breast; green speculum. Female is mottled brown, bronze speculum with white rear borders. Juvenile and eclipse male appear like female.
