Pagosa Hot Springs, Colorado
The several hot springs pools, are all located in the town of Pagosa Springs, Colorado on US 160 along the
San Juan River.
Although the town of Pagosa Springs is built around a large flow of hot spring water, there are also several options where one can get into the hot water, some for free and others for a fee.
The listing below are only a couple of pools that are available. I have heard that the other pools are much cheaper than the Resort Hot Springs. The next time I go there, I will check for the prices of other pools.

Resort Hot Springs Pools
The Pagosa hot springs resorts are quite the elaborate set up with large bath pools, swimming pools and every other amenity that accompanies a hot springs resort town. Too, hot spring resorts like this, I have found to attract large groups of visitors.
When I arrive in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, I choose not to pay the unreasonably priced fee for the resort pools, which are in reality, just another
turkey shoot, and instead, just enjoy the free pools riverside.

Hippy Dip Hot Springs Pool
One place where it is free is by the city river park next to an overflow pipe of the hot spring discharge, where the locals have piled up the rocks to form a shallow pool. This pool, the original Hippy Dip pool, on the east bank is right adjacent to the auto bridge, which carries Hot Spring Blvd across the river from the town back and forth from the resort.
Also, opposite the river from the Hippy Dip pool are several seeps of hot sulphur water that also flow into rock surrounded pools alongside the west bank.
