The Quest for The Solace, Part Seven

On Loving The Son of God Go Down Go Up
Life Journey
A Journey of a Hundred Days
This Journey of a Hundred Days begins on Saturday, 04 October 2025 and continues until Sunday, 11 January 2026.
This Journey of Days for this Wayƒarer is the seventh of ten journeys, which when all ten One Hundred Day Journeys come to a conclusion will complete the current Journey of a Thousand Days.
A Journey of a Thousand Days
This Journey of a Thousand Days is the current Life Journey that this Wayƒarer is presently walking. This Journey of a Thousand Days began on Monday, 12 February 2024 and will continue until 07 November 2026
I am currently in my 27th Journey of a Thousand Days, see first journal entry below.

Words to Ponder
Each of us is Capable of Doing Anything We Wish to do, but never can we do Everything. Therefore, focus on what is the most important! (Matthew 6:33)
This journey is currently upon the Northern Tier Route.

The Journey On, Fall Southbound Migration: 2nd Leg (cont.) Go Down Go Up
The Second Leg: Eastbound (cont.)
Previously, in Part Six of Chapter Fifteen, I began this Second Leg of The Journey On, Fall Southbound Migration during which, I did return to and travel upon a Roadpath route of my own creation. Yes, I have been driving upon the Northern Tier Route, one of which I have traveled often, but only in parts and sections over the years. However, now that I am documenting this Roadpath as a Cross Continental Route within my Steps Afield North American Roadpath Journeys, I must needs drive the route again to allow me to photograph and confirm all of this individual highways and roadways upon which it traverses.
Thus, this year I hope to be able to drive all the way across the Great Plains, then into and across the Interior Lowlands, and finally into and arrive within the Appalachian Mountains. Nevertheless, if in my traverse across the northernmost route this year, my goal is not accomplished, then it will in all likelihood necessitate my return again in the following year during the northbound migration, so that I will have further opportunity to complete my Roadpath and its documentation and photography.

Awake, dress in my fall blues, climb forward, start the jammer and wait for a minute or so for it to warm up. Then, I drive to the w-mart directly across the street, park, grab my computer bag and walk inside for coffee, com and computer. I remain here most all day long and depart just before the store closes at five pm. From here, I drive to the local d-mart, park, walk inside to purchase a thing-a-ma-bob and then return to the jammer to park for the night.
It is a quite night here in North Dakota.

Awake to a relatively comfortable, although I have been using two blankets every night since I was in Libby, Montana. I climb forward, start the jammer engine and the sort my things while it warms up. Then, I get on US 2 to drive to the w-mart but begin driving eastbound, so I have to make a U-turn to drive westbound towards the coffee house. I pull in. park, grab my computer bag, walk inside, select a table and then sit down to set up my computer. A short time later, I walk up to the counter and order a cup of hot, after which, I begin pounding keys while sipping on the hot coffee. I start my morning computer work by trying to update my journal entry, which by this day and time is far behind my travels and I suspect that recalling the last few days is becoming harder as I allow time to pass.
Then, at ten-fifty this morning, I connect to the Libby, Montana congregation of Jehovah′s Witnesses to listen as the circuit overseer gives the public talk. Then, the Watchtower study is conducted, after which the circuit overseer gives the concluding talk of his visit to this congregation. I really enjoy his Bible discourses and his presentation, both of which encourage me to no ends.
Then, in the early afternoon, I pack out of Williston, North Dakota and continue my eastbound journey by first driving north out of town on US 2 for about eleven miles to where US 85 continues north to Canada and US 2 turns to the right and continues eastbound across the state of North Dakota.
When I arrive at US 2E, I am still just a few miles to the north of Fort Berthold Reservation and continue to drive eastbound through the town of Berthold, North Dakota and soon after that, into Minot (pronounced My-knot), North Dakota. I have been studying the map of North Dakota online and had decided that when, I arrive at Rugby, North Dakota, I would turn left onto SH 3 and drive north for about thirty miles until arriving at the town of Dunseith, North Dakota, where I would then turn right and drive east on US 281 and SH 5 which would take me all the way to Minnesota, well at least SH 5 would as the US highway would soon after drop further south on the map. (Interesting, the SH 5 also crosses into Montana and traverses some sixty-tow miles.)
However, SH 3 proved to be closed to all but local traffic and due to that, I decided to just follow US 2 for the rest of the way through North Dakota. Thus, I return to US 2E and begin driving eastbound, first along Devils Lake, a very large body of water, then through Lakota, North Dakota and finally arrive at Grand Forks, North Dakota where I stop, find that this town has three w-mart, a large d-mart and even a hf-mart. I decide that this is where I will stay for a few days in order to play catch up on my journal writing. So, I divide my time during the days between the several locations that have hot coffee, WiFi and electric receptacles at the dining room tables.

Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, start the jammer engine and drive closer to the w-mart where I park and go inside. However, this w-mart is way too small to do anything but buy a cup of hot, so, I grab some coffee and pack out to the jammer. Next, I drive east through the parking lots until I arrive at a d-mart, park, go inside and purchase an oil filter and two quarts of oil for the jammer engine. I would have bought five quarts but there was only two on the shelf.
Leaving the d-mart, I turn right on South Columbia Road and drive north for one and a half miles and arrive at a m-mart, one that I actually have an account with, but have to wait for half an hour until the branch opens. Then, I go inside and withdraw some travel money. After that, I drive back south on South Columbia Road for a couple of blocks and stop at a w-mart, park the jammer and walk inside for coffee, com and computer.
Continuing here all day, I work first on updating my journal entries from Day 599 TS, during which I crossed the western part of Montana on US 2 and Day 600 TS, during which I crossed the eastern half of Montana, also on US 2. Too, the weather forecast informs me that for at least the next several days, the temperatures will be dropping into the mid to low 30s, which makes each of them "three-dog-nights."

Awake, arise, start the jammer engine, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I remain here all day to continue with the work on my computer in order to catch up on my journal writing. It seems that the long drive through both Montana and North Dakota has prevented me, or at least slowed me down from capturing the events by key pounding. So, I remain here at the state line between North Dakota and Minnesota in order to alleviate this discrepancy.
Too, I have found that there is at least three w-marts here in Grand Forks, North Dakota and tomorrow morning, I will drive to the one on South Washington Street which will be closer to where I am overnighting.
Then, in the afternoon, I drive to a bank location to withdraw some moneys, after which I drive to the w-mart on South Columbia Road located quite a distance north from my overnight location. Then, when the sun drops below the horizon again, I return to the d-mart near which I have taken up parking in the parking lot of a closed restaurant. Too, the low temperature nights here are requiring me to use all three of my blankets so as to sleep warm as well as using my bandana pulled up and across my face as a frost cover allowing me to breath without my nose getting cold. This was a custom I developed while hiking upon the Appalachian Trail. 1

Awake, arise, start the jammer engine, turning on the heater and wait for the warmth to begin to fill the inside of the vehicle. Then, I dress in my fall blues, take my position in the drivers seat and drive to the w-mart on South Washington Street where I park in the space near the entrance, grab my computer bag and walk inside for coffee, com and key pounding.

Awake, arise at first alarm, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I also check my paper memo book for the Zoom address for the Bay Area, Texas congregation and when I try the identity number, the Zoom app replies that this is not a working number. So, I will call my friend in that congregation and ask him for the meeting information as soon as the morning progresses into the time appropriate to call and not be too early. When is a few minutes after eight this morning, I call Carl Vaughan and he picks up immediately. I ask him to find out the meeting Zoom Id and Password for me. He tells me that he will find out and then send it to me by text message. I thank him
However, I did not hear back from him on this day, so, I connected with the Oak Harbor congregation despite it being two hours behind my current time zone. I will call him again when I get to south Texas and invite him to join me for a meal at one of the local restaurants.
The temperature tonight does just barely drop into the 30s, but it is no where near to requiring me to use all three of my blankets, but I remain comfortable with only one.

Journey On, Day 71
Sleeping in the Jammer
Overnighting in a Parking Lot
Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, drive to a brand new ff-mart for coffee, com and key pounding. I am finally getting caught up on my journal entries, in fact, it today is the first time that I can say, "I am ready to push on further to the east."
My steps today first takes me across the Red River into Minnesota but I become confused and make a wrong turn and due to the driving restrictions signage, end up going back across into North Dakota. Then, I try it again and this time succeed on turning left on SH 220 and begin my drive northward to the Northern Tier Route, which here in Minnesota is SH 11, the Waters of the Dancing Sky State Scenic Byway, which highway is suppose to provide access and opportunity to see the aurora Borealis, or commonly called the northern lights, a feature which give the highway it name.
Upon arriving in Warroad, Minnesota, I drive through town to locate both a place to have coffee in the morning as well as a location for myself to overnight. What I found was a short drive off of SH 11 in a shopping center that has coffee shop inside of a g-mart, both of which are new businesses for me to visit. I park at the back of the parking lot on a side street and find it very quite. Then, I climb into the rear of the jammer, get into the horizontal, pull up the three dogs, and close my eyes
At about midnight, a police officer knocks on the window and tells me that some one has complained that a suspicious looking vehicle was parked next to their back yard. I told him why I was here by briefly explaining, "I am driving across the top of the United States and arrived here around sunset, so I parked here so I could go into that cafe for coffee in the morning." When I pointed to the cafe, the officer turned to look and then told me. "Ok, then would you move from this street into the parking lot to get away from these houses?" I told him that I would and then climbed forward into the drivers seat, searched for and found my keys, started the engine and moved the jammer about twenty-five feet and then parked it again. As I was climbing back into the rear of the jammer, I notices that the officer had started his patrol can and began to drive away. I went right back to sleep.
Prior to parking the jammer on the street, I had driven up to the cafe to see that it does not open until seven in the morning, so I set my alarm to only sound after seven o′clock tomorrow morning.

Elevation: 1,151 feet
Awake, arise, reach forward, start the jammer and turn on the heater. Then, I dress in my fall blues, climb forward into the drivers seat and move the jammer to a location in the same parking lot which is closer to the coffee shop. After parking the jammer, I walk inside to check to see if the cafe has electric plugs, which I find that it does. Next, I purchase a cup of coffee and place it on a table next to the front window and then walk back out to the jammer to retrieve my computer bag. Once I am inside and have my computer set up, I connect to the cafe WiFi and begin working.
I remain here until nearly one in the afternoon and check out the area as well as look for a place to take a hot shower. Also, I check for a Kingdom Hall near by and find that there are halls in both Roseau, Minnesota and Baudette, Minnesota. Thus, since I am traveling eastward, I will make contact with the hall in Baudette which is at 210 4th Avenue SE, Baudette, Minnesota 56623. So, before I leave the town of Warroad, I walk through the local grocery and purchase some fresh vegetables.
Upon leaving Hugo′s Family Market, I drive south on Main Avenue NE until arriving at Lake Street NE where I turn left and drive east until I arrive at the Lakeview Park and Campground with the Warroad Point and Public Water access and boat ramp at the mouth of the Warroad River. There, I walk over to the view tower which required myself to climb twenty-two steps to reach the top of the tower, or the same as the third level of a building. From this prospective, I can see just how flat it is in every direction. Too, I see Springsteel Island, which is just under three miles to the north and it looks tiny. Further to the north, at about six miles is some land on the horizon and it is partially hidden with mist and/or smog, which I assume is Elm Point and Buffalo Point just over the border in Canada. I can not, however, see anything within the northern reaches of the Northwest Angle, such as Flag Island, nor Oak Island, both of which islands are in the United States, but are located at just over thirty miles away.
After leaving the view tower, I drive into the Lakeview Campground, park in front of the shower house, grab my shower bag, towel and walk into the building. Inside there are doors leading to the mens shower and womens shower. I walk into through the mens door, then to the back of the room and find three shower stalls. None of them have benches and the handicap stall has only one hook to hang clothes on. Still, I make do with what I have and proceed to get into the hot water, the first that I have had since stopping at the Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs in Montana. I keep thinking that this is unreal, if I am really getting to take a hot shower. I then dry off, don my clean clothes and then walk back outside to the jammer, open the rear lift door, hang my gear back in their places, walk to the drivers door, get in and drive back down Lake Street NE to SH 11 where I turn left and drive east.
Finally, I resume my eastbound drive across the northernmost highway on the Northern Tier Route and continue to my next stop. As I drive east from Warroad, I find that this section of highway 11 is extremely flat with little or no change in elevation and when checking elevation at different locations find it not to be at about 1,100 ± 100 feet. Then, at about three this afternoon, I arrive in Baudette, Minnesota, a town with a name that sounds very much French to me. I stop at the local coffee w-mart, one with the logo "Life is Short, Stay Awake for It" Since I have already have two cups of coffee, I decide to have a hot tea, sit down and sip on the cup of hot while I pound keys and update both my journal entry as well as a few other pages. While I am here, I use my phone to check what the temperature looks like for this week and then next week. As I had expected, the nighttime temperatures just keep going down and in less than two weeks, it will be in the high 20s and low 30s. Then, at seven this evening, I pack out of the cafe, walk to the jammer and look for my overnight location for tonight.

Awake, walk up to the door of the coffee cafe and see that it does not open until eight this morning, so I drive across the street to the a-mart, park, and the walk inside to use the mens room. Afterwards, I purchase a cup of hot and then walk back to the jammer. Next, I drive back across SH 11 to the w-mart and wait for it to open and notice that the rain has paused. While waiting, I step outside of the jammer, walk around to the rear and open the lift door. Then, I take off my shirt and put on my dress shirt. I then do the same with my trousers, donning a clean pair. Next, I grab my dress shoes, close the lift door, walk back to the drivers door and sit down while I change into my dress shoes. Finally, I wrap my tie around my neck and do the moves to make it look presentable and then methinks, I have about an hour so, I will go inside of the w-mart, have a cup of coffee and study the entire Watch Tower Bible study before the meeting begins at ten this morning.
At nine-forty this morning, I drive out of the parking lot of the w-mart, cross the bridge over Baudette inlet and drive four blocks east on SH 11, right on 4th Avenue SE and drive a couple of block until I see the Kingdom Hall. I turn into the parking lot and back into a space on the opposite side to the lot from the front door. This is a small Kingdom Hall with a small congregation, which one of the brothers told me that there are 32 publishers here. I arrive at about ten minutes before the meeting begins and soon after walk in the front door. Several brothers greet me and tell me there names. The meeting begins and there is a video feed for the public talk and then a local brother conducts the WT study.
After the meeting, I say goodbye to the friends, then pack out to the jammer, drive back into town and stop at the af-mart where I change out of my meeting clothes and don my driving garments. Then, I drive up to a fueling station and add twenty dollars of fuel to the fuel tank. Finally, I drive eastward on SH 11, out of Baudette, Minnesota, past Walie the Walleye, cross over the Baudette River and then continue east on SH 11 for almost two miles where I come upon SH 72. Here, I stop, get out my maps and check out this highway.
Methinks, ever since leaving Grand Forks, North Dakota and then resuming my eastbound drive across the Northern Tier Route in Minnesota, the nighttime temperatures have been quite cold, in the mid 30s and last evening encroached very closely to freezing. Too, when I had looked at the forecast, I saw that the upcoming days and weeks were even worse, dropping into the below freezing most every night.

The Journey On, Fall Southbound Migration: Third Leg Go Down Go Up
Right Turn (Southbound)
As explained in Footnote Two on the previous page, I must needs turn right and head south in order to avoid any more near freezing and/or below freezing nights. Actually, the weather forecast for this location, (Northernmost Minnesota) is for much more below freezing nights as the winter season is quickly inundating all of this part of the Interior Lowland region).
My path forward after this years Right Turn will take me south through the Interior Lowlands geographical region (# 5) into and through (in the order of my driving) the states of Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska, where at Columbus Nebraska, I must needs stop at the Kingdom Hall to attend to my spiritual needs. Upon leaving Columbus, Nebraska, the route ahead is southwest on US 30, whereupon I will very quickly cross from the Interior Lowlands into the Great Plains (#9) and will then traverse this geographical region southwestward until I arrive at Grand Island, Nebraska. Here, I will resume my southbound direction upon US 281, continue until reaching Red Cloud, Nebraska, after which I continued south on US 281 across the state line into Kansas. Then, I will follow US 30 , Oklahoma and Texas.
Upon entering the Great Plains in Kansas, my path continues south on US 281 until arriving at Lake Cheyenne, (which, now due to the ongoing drought, is called Cheyenne Bottoms NWR). Next, my route will take me through Great Bend, Kansas whereat, I will turn right onto US 56 and drive southwest, past the Pawnee Rock SHS and then continue southwest with a brief stop in Dodge City, Kansas, but then continue southwest until arriving at US 83, a highway often traveled by this wayƒarer and One I will continue upon through the Great Plains region of both Oklahoma and Texas.
At this junction, I continue turn southbound, cross Oklahoma, enter Texas where I begin my tour through and camping at the Limited-Free Campgrounds in the Texas panhandle. After finishing that tour, I continue south on US 83, stop briefly in Abilene, then continue south on US 83, only to exit onto IH 10 and drive to Kerrville, Texas for a brief stop. Had I continued southbound on US 83, I would have arrived in Laredo, Texas, which would only be a short drive to the Bottom of Texas and would have ended both the Third Leg and the Fall Southbound Migration. However, upon leaving Kerrville, my direction changes to an easterly one whereupon I then cross from the Dry Side into the Wet Side.

Sunday Afternoon
After the meeting, I finally make my decision, it is time at this location in my Journey On for me to do the Right Turn, so, I turn right on to SH 72 and head south for about seventy-five miles to Blackduck, Minnesota where SH 72 ends and I continue southwest on US 71 for another 58 miles, during which I drive through Bermidji, Minnesota, cross the Mississippi River and then drive into the south entrance of Itasca State Park. I then stop at the visitors center, go inside and a young ranger helps me to get a permit to enter the park. There was a sign with a list of several prices, and I ask, "How much is the permit if I am a disabled veteran?" to which he says that if I show him my veterans card, he will give me an annual permit for free. I do, and he gives me the permit and a map showing where the campground is located, the ones where the shower houses are still open. Looking at the map, I see that I will half to drive another four miles to the campground and then the ranger tells me that the campground with electricity is thirty-seven dollars. After wincing I then decide to go ahead and pay for one night so that I can have a hot shower as well as the use of an electrical receptacle in order for me to plug in and fully charge my LiFePO4 deep cycle battery.
After paying for one night, I then drive into the campground, set up my campsite, plug in and the cook a pot of my repast. After cooking, I put the cookpot on the floor of the jammer, stow my gear, grab my shower bag and towel and walk the fifty feet to the shower house. Hoping for a hot shower, I find that the water is instead only medium warm, it is nowhere close to being hot, nevertheless, it is nice to get my body under water again. I return to the jammer, and while I eat my repast, I pound keys and update my journal entry for today. Finally, I turn off the computer, get into the horizontal to get some shut eye.

Itasca State Park, Pine Ridge Campground
Campsite number 180, Maple Loop
Coordinates: 47.234552, -95.190777
Elevation: 1,529 feet
Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues and climb up to the drivers seat to climb out of the jammer and walk the fifty feet to the restroom where I meet a man named Craig, a local who is camping here. We talk for a while and I refer him to my website a couple of times to show information that we are talking about. He then asks for my website and I bring up the website homepage, which he takes a photo of. I return to the jammer to warm up inside where I have the heater on. Today begins with it being quite cold, however, it is a wonderfully sunny one as well. I have the heater on low but then turn it up to high so as to warm up the inside of the jammer. When I finally warm up enough to leave out from under the blankets, I dress in my winter blues, climb forward to the drivers seat and don my sandals. Then, I step outside, walk to the rear of the jammer, open the lift door and grab my tea kettle and set it on the picnic table and add a liter of water. Next, I grab an extension cord, plug it into the receptacle, run in around the back of the jammer to the table, plug in the kettle and turn it on. Then, I get out my three cups, take them to the rear of the jammer and add the applicable items to each of the three cups. Finally, I climb back into the jammer and with one eye on the kettle awaiting for it to blow steam, I clean up and organize the interior of the jammer.
When the water boils, I step outside again to boil water and prepare my three-cup f-meal and when I have completed that task, I carry the three cups into the jammer, climb back inside and sit down at the office table and while eating my f-meal, I continue to pound keys, working on adding information to several pages and creating a couple new ones. Then, at sometime after two this afternoon, I upload all of my work, unplug and roll up the electric cord, stow it in its place within the jammer and then climb into the drivers seat, start the jammer engine, pull forward twenty feet and get out to inspect the campsite. Once again, I find it to be spotless, so it get back into the drivers seat to drive out of the state park. However, before I depart from the park completely, I stop at a couple of Lakeside overlooks for the view and some photos, which I will add to the photos of this state park later. Next, I stop at the Douglas Lodge to take a couple of photos and then, while I am driving out of the park, I see a location where the North Country National Scenic Trail traverses across the extreme southern area of the state park. I stop at the trailhead to take photographs and gain some information. After the stop, I finish driving out of the state park, take a couple of turns to return to US 71, where I resume my southbound drive through Minnesota.
The southbound drive is thru a constantly changing landscape, however, the change is from farm land which is mostly just plowed to wooded sections of mixed evergreens and deciduous trees and then back and forth. The deciduous are mostly birch trees, but there are a few aspens, maples, and oaks. As I drive south, all along the highway, the trees are exploding into there fall raiment in preparation for the casting-off of their leaves. The highway is through a region of slightly rolling hills and crossing an occasional small river.
The sun has just set upon my arriving in Sauk Center, a small town in central Minnesota, and when driving slowly through town, I espy a mural on a three story brick building. Immediately, I make three right turns and return into the parking lot adjacent to that mural to take a couple of photos and find out a little about the subject of this mural. On the lower half of the first mural is what appears to be the signature of a person, whom I know nothing at all about and even the contiguous street is named for this person. Soon after, I see another mural across the highway almost directly opposite from the initial mural and drive there to take photos of that one as well. After a little research, I find out that the mural was about the American novelist, short-story writer and play-writer Sinclair Lewis, who was born and lived in this village as a boy.
As I drive south out of the Original Main Street I contemplate about this author and wonder if I might obtain and read his words. Meanwhile the light of day begins to fade from the sky and as I make my way south along US 71. I watch the horizon explode with exquisite sunset spectacles, then slowly change to lesser and lesser sunglow and finally fade to gray; whilst I travel to my next overnight location in Willmar, Minnesota.
Upon arriving in town, I drive to the d-mart, a very large store and position my vehicle into a distant corner of the parking lot. There is one other vehicle that pulls in to a space about four white stripes north or me. In a short time, it begins to rain and I fall asleep to the rhythm of the drops softly pummeling the jammer roof.

Awake, arise, dress in my winter blues, climb forward and start the jammer engine. I then let the engine run for a few minutes, after which, I search Google Maps to locate a w-mart and find one less than a mile from my overnight location. Then, I drive there, park, walk inside and order a medium coffee and a large hot water. Once I receive my two cups of hot, I sit down, plug my computer into the electrical receptacle and resume my work on my computer.
After a long day of key pounding, shortly after the sun sets, I leave the w-mart, drive back to the d-mart to take the same space as before, back in and put up my window shades. Finally, I get into the horizontal, close my eyes and give thanks to Jehovah for another day of life.

Overnighting in a Parking Lot
Awake, arise to a somewhat comfortable morning, dress in my winter blues and clime forward to the drivers seat, start the jammer and drive to the local ff-mart, where I purchase a cup of hot and two breakfast burritos, sit down at a table, plug in my computer and eat my f-meal while I write journal entries for the last couple of days. Once that is complete, I then work on some of the other page upgrades.
Finally, at a little after three in the afternoon, I pack out of the ff-mart, get into the jammer and drive south out of Willmar, Minnesota.
The drive today was through mostly flat terrain with just a few small hills and along several lakes. It remains overcast all day with fog in some areas and I continue for about two and a half hours, (130 miles) to Spirit Lake, Iowa, where find the local d-mart, pull into the parking lot, drive to one of the corners, back in, put up my shades and then climb into the rear of the jammer to get into the horizontal for the evening. It is just after sunset when I arrive and is relatively quite here tonight with little noises to disturb me.

Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, climb forward, start the jammer engine, drive to the front door of the d-mart, park and go inside to purchase a pair of windshield wipers. Then, I walk back outside to the jammer, install the wipers, dispose of the trash in the entrance-way garbage receptacle and return to the jammer. I then climb into the drivers seat, start the engine and drive south on US 71 out of Spirit Lake, Iowa for twenty-two miles to Spencer, Iowa drive through town, cross the Little Sioux River and the arrive at a traffic light. The sign indicates that to continue south on US 71, I will need to turn right. So, I turn right and immediately, I arrive at what looks like a brand new ff-mart that has indoor seating with electric receptacles at the table. I pull in, park in a space near the door, carry my computer bag inside, sit down at a table so that I can plug in and pound keys. Too, I purchase a breakfast burrito and a coffee, return to the table and begin working on my journal entry and website pages. There is a d-mart directly next to this ff-mart where I will drive to after the sunsets and there overnight.
Leaving the ff-mart, I drive next door, locate a isolated corner and then back into the space. Too, I notice a second ff-mart where I might be able to go for coffee upon the morrow. Then, I climb into the rear of the jammer, prepare my sleeping birth

Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, climb forward into the drivers seat, start the jammer engine and drive across US 71 and into the parking lot of a ff-mart. After pulling into one of the handicap parking spaces, I then grab my computer bag, walk inside the restaurant, set up my computer in a corner table and plug into the electrical outlet. Next, I walk up to the counter to order a cup of hot and a breakfast biscuit sandwich. Return to my table, I proceed to have my f-meal while I pound keys to start my journal entry for this day.
Soon, the sun begins to shine through the clouds and I must needs pull the window curtain down to keep it from blinding me as I pound keys. I am thankful for the sunshine this morning, which is far more enjoyed than the overcast sky, fog and rain that has been the norm for the last couple of days. Too, I have been looking at the map forward from my current location in order to decide which direction and to where I will drive upon leaving this small Iowan town. Eventually, I would like to drive into western Oklahoma through which I can enter the state of Texas into the top of the panhandle. Then, I will stop at some of the limited-free campgrounds in the Texas Panhandle in order to use up all the hot weather, in search of the colder temperatures.

Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, climb forward to the drivers seat, start the jammer engine and then try to find my way out of the parking lot, back onto US 30. After driving through a bank parking lot, I finally arrive at the d-mart parking lot exit continue to the US highway and the turn right and drive west for about two and a half miles to the w-mart, pull onto the property and park near the front north facing door. Then, I grab my computer bag, my phone, don my hoodie, walk inside, put my bag on a table, take a seat and begin pounding keys.
In the late morning, I see a family who I believe are Jehovah′s Witnesses and I ask one woman my never-changing question, "Do you know any of the Great Crowd?" When she smiles back at me, I then know that I believed correctly, that this group was all my brothers and sisters from the local Kingdom Hall. I greet them all and the woman asks where I am from, to which I say, "I was born in New Orleans, but my current home congregation is in the Pacific Northwest, on an island in Puget Sound north of Seattle." When they depart from the w-mart, I return to pounding keys, remaining here until about dark-thirty, when I pack out and drive to a nearby parking lot behind one of the nearby four-story guest inns. After finding an appropriate location to park, I put up my window shades, climb into the rear of the jammer and get into the horizontal for the night.

Awake, arise, reach forward to turn on the jammer engine and inside heater. Then, I begin getting dresses in my fall blues and when done, climb forward and drive out of the parking lot, around to the front of the guest inn, and then into the parking lot of the w-mart to park. I walk inside carrying my computer bag and wait here until shortly after nine this morning when I pack out to the jammer to put on my Sunday blues and then drive west through town for about one mile to the local kingdom hall, which is at the corner of 48th Avenue and 27th Street. Both before and after the meeting, I am able to meet and visit with several of the friends, even Michael and some of his family that I met yesterday. I even talk with his daughter Abigail, with whom we exchange names and talk for a short time.
Then, I pack out to the jammer, drive back into town for something to eat, after which, I take US 81 back into town, then south across the Loup River, but just before crossing the Platte River, I turn right onto US 30 and drive southwest (for 66 miles along and just north of the Platte River) to Grand Island, Nebraska. After driving through the town of Grand Island, I turn left on US 281 and within ten miles, cross the Platte River, and continue south along a recently upgraded US 281 highway. Then, after crossing into Kansas, I arrive at the location where the same highway is under construction and must needs take a detour along Kansas SH 181 south to Downs, Kansas where the construction ends and I am able to return to US 281 southbound, and drive to Great Bend, Kansas. Upon arriving in Great Bend, I arrive at US 56, where I turn right and then begin driving on this highway in a southwest direction to Kinsley were US 56 merges into US 50 and continue driving southwest on US 50 all the way to Dodge City, Kansas. When I arrive in Dodge City, US 50 turns west along the north side of town and then, upon arriving at 14th Avenue, I turn south, drive past the local w-mart and continue a short distance further to the d-mart, locate a dark area in one of the corners and park for the night.
It is a relatively warm night and I only need one blanket to sleep comfortable.

Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, climb forward and start the jammer engine. After letting it warm up for a few minutes, I then drive north on 14th Avenue about a half mile and pull into the parking lot for the w-mart. I then park, grab my computer bag, walk inside for coffee, computer and com. I remain here until about three in the afternoon when I pack out, walk out tot the jammer and stow my gear in their places. Then, I drive to the old town where I relocate the Stagecoach outside wall mural and take a photo of the mural from a parking space below it. Too, I write down the coordinates in my notepad.
After, I tell myself, "Let′s go to Texas&qupt: and then leave Dodge City, taking US 56 to the southwest and just after passing through Sublette, Kansas, I turn south on US 83, which means that I have only about forty miles left in Kansas, then less than fifty miles in Oklahoma and I will finally be back in Texas. I drive through the rest of Kansas, then through Oklahoma and into Texas, stopping at the first town just seven miles past the state line. I stop in town at the city RV park and even though there is a restroom available, the RV spaces appear to be torn up because there are several old trees that are being removed, so, I leave Perryton on SH 15 to the southwest and drive 26 miles to Spearman, transfer to SH 207 and drive another thirty miles to Stinnent, Texas, where I then drive to the city RV park and pull into space number two.
Next, I step out of the jammer, walk to the rear and open the lift door, take out my extension cord and plug it into the receptacle and then connect it inside the jammer. Next, I climb back into the jammer, then into the rear and get out my computer to finish my journal entry for today. After I upload the journal file to the web page, I then get into the horizontal for the night. It is now just after nine this evening.

Awake, arise, step outside and unplug from the electrical outlet, roll up my cord and stow in its place. Then, I drive out of LFC RV park, first to a c-mart for a cup of coffee and then south on Main street, which turns into SH 130 and I drive the eleven miles to Borger, which I know has both a LFC RV park and w-mart.. I drive to the w-mart park and go inside for coffee, com and computer, After I am caught up on my journal writing, I drive to the d-mart and purchase a package of fresh wild caught salmon and plan to use my charcoal briquettes, which I have had in the jammer for a couple of years. I am tired of carrying them around so I will have a cook-out today at the RV park. I drive there, park in space number 8, plug in my electrical cord and then begin setting up to cook my fresh salmon.
Once the jammer is set up, I get out my aluminum cake pan that I had purchased for this event, fill the pan with briquettes, add the charcoal lighter and the add fire from a lighter. In no time, I had a good fire going and the use my skillet to grill some onions and then put the salmon steak in the same skillet, however, the heat coming from the charcoal briquettes is just not hot enough to cook. So, I get out my electric hot plate, plug it in, turn the heat up th hight and soon, everything is sizzling. I had keep this in mind just in case the charcoal did not provide enough heat. Methinks, I will not try that again; if in the future, I do not have an electric plug, then, I will use my backpacking stove, which I know works well and provides enough heat to cook anything I need it to. Still, I have enough charcoal and lighter fluid for one more fire; but I am not sure if I will even use it up or not.
On a totally different mater, when I arrived at the LFC RV park, I stopped at the register station and picked up a form. The form asked for the normal information: Name, address, phone number, vehicle license plate number, but it did not stop there. It also asked for the vehicle make, model, color. If that wasn′t enough, the form asked for my drivers license number, and to make matters even worse, there was another line which stated: All information must be filled out in full including the Date of your arrival. Now, this is too, much entirely, especially my drivers license number (DLN). There is absolutely no need for this city to have my DLN, So, I dO not fill out the application, nor did I stay for the night. Instead, I unplug my electrical cord, roll it up, stow all of my gear and then drive out of the RV park.
From Borger, I head west to Dumas, Texas where I will overnight at the LFC RV park there. Too, I will remove Borger from the places that I will return to in the future, marking it as a do not return (DNR) campground. Instead, I will make Stinnent, Texas as a return to camp.
Upon arriving at the Texhoma RV park in Dumas, I drive in, park the jammer and plug in my electrical cord. Then, I climb into the jammer, open the windows to let the flies out and then set up my computer to continue recording my journal entry for this day. Shortly after seven this evening, the sun sets and I will be waiting for it to get dark so that I can walk around outside the jammer on the hard surface parking area of the RV park, hoping to see some celestial events tonight.
Too, I just checked online and I found out that Dumas, Texas has both a d-mart and a w-mart in town and they are both south own US 83 about one and a half miles.

Then, I climb back into the drivers seat and drive out of the RV park. There are about four or five other large RVs here but no one from these seems to have awaken.
I next, drive under the US 87 railroad overpass and turn left onto the one way feeder road and when I arrive at Dumas Avenue (US 287), I turn right and drive south in search of the new w-mart restaurant that has been built here in this town and find it at near the south end. Pulling into the parking lot, I park the jammer, grab my coffee cup, computer bag, walk inside and set up at one of the tables inside and purchase a cup of hot coffee and also ask for a cup of hot water to pour into my cup of Daystart. Once I have my hot liquids, I begin sipping on the coffee, eating my f-meal and pounding keys to begin this day′s journal entry. Later, I continue with the ongoing work on my web site.
Then, at six-thirty this evening, I pack out to the jammer, stow my gear and then walk to the rear lift door where I change into my meeting blues. Next, I climb into the drivers seat, and drive a short distance on US 87 west out of town to the local Kingdom Hall, park the jammer, grab my Bible and walk inside for the mid-week meeting. I find this congregation to be very friendly and welcoming, like all of the People of God are. I visit with some of the friends before the meeting begins as well as for a short time after.
Then, I drive back to the south side of town, turn into the parking lot of the d-mart, back into one of the spaces along the outside edge, put up my window shandes, climb into te rear of the jammer and get under cover for the night.

Soon after I begin pounding keys, I look up and see an expansive surround of morning sunglow. I pause from my key pounding and give thanks to Jehovah for providing me with all the wonderful gifts that I am enjoying here in this Texas panhandle town, but especially the meeting last evening and the fellowship with the friends there at the Kingdom Hall. I continue to watch the sunglow as it grows in brightness and transforms into the new day.
Then, another day diminishes and the sunglow waxes on the western horizon, slowly the fading light of this days expands eastward to engulf nearly a three-sixty sunset. Methinks, Wow! What a beautiful close to a wonderfully comfortable day. Some time after the end of this day′s sunset, I leave the w-mart, drive to the bean-mart for a couple of burritos, purchase and eat my last-meal inside.
Later, I drive south a short distance and pull into the d-mart to park in the outside parking area, climb into the rear of the jammer and get under my blanket for the night.

I drive north that short distance and turn left onto 18th street and then left again into the parking lot of the w-mart. Then, I carry my computer bag into the cafe, plug in the computer and then go back out to the jammer to prepare my three-cup f-meal. Upon returning inside the cafe, I step up to the counter and purchase a cup of hot coffee and ask for a cup of hot water, which I will use in my remaining two cups of the f-meal. Then, I sit down at the table and begin to enjoy my morning nourishment while I pound keys. I spend the entire day working on completing the state pages for the North Country Trail, which I had briefly walked on when I was in Minnesota earlier this month, after I had camped at Lake Itasca, Minnesota on Day 610 TS.
Yes, that was only eleven days ago when I was in northern Minnesota, less than fifty miles from Canada. I had been driving on the Northern Tier Route across the top of the United States, however, the nights were getting quite cold, and the freezing temperatures at night were on the increase. I departed from that northernmost roadpath and skedaddled south as quickly as I could and now I find myself in the northern panhandle area of Texas where the nights are only dropping into the mid to upper 40s. I find this temperature very unobjectionable for my nature and is the reason I have been migrating from Washington to Texas and back each year for at least fifteen round trip journeys.
Now, the shadows are lengthening as the sun rushes to the horizon, so I will pack out of this coffee-mart, drive to the bean-mart for some nachos and then drive to the overnight-mart, back into the same parking location for several days now and get into the horizontal to read for a time before I close my eyes and get into the comfortable for the night.
(Day 622 TS) 51°F. 6:30 am, sunny
Journey On, Day 86
Sleeping in the Jammer
Overnighting in a Parking Lot
Long before the sunrise, while it is still night, my first alarm sounds. As the year rushes fast forward into the autumnal season and the length of the day diminishes, each morning start seems to arrive sooner. Rather, not on thing has changed, except for my perspective; the first alarm has always been set for six-thirty, (that is for those friends of mine with a military background, 06:30). Furthermore, this mindset toward the dayspring has been, methinks one that is a proclivity I have owned since I was a young man.
If truth be told, even when I was a young boy, there were many a time when my perception of "early in the morning" was a different reality than it was to others. Methinks, many were the time I sat on the curb in front of my boyhood home awaiting for the "friend" who had told me just the day before, "See you early tomorrow morning." So, let it be known to everyone who is to become acquainted with the mask I wear which is known by some as the Me: Early is as early be! 2
Arising to first turn off the alarm, next dress in my fall blues, climb forward to the drivers seat, take down the window shades and then see the source of the noise that has been constant all night long; an eighteen wheeler that has parked within fifty feet of the jammer, who left his truck idling. With thoughts of retaliation, but never one acted upon, I insert the key into the ignition, start the jammer engine, put the transmission into drive and then move slowly out of the parking lot, turn north onto the highway and drive to the w-mart. After parking, I step out, grab my three cups, computer bag and walk inside for coffee, com and another day of key pounding.
Then, at about the same time the sun is setting, which here in Dumas is moments after 7:00 pm, (or as I learned when I was in the military, we would say: nineteen hundred hours), I pack out of the w-mart, drive to the d-mart and back into one of the outlying spaces, put up the window shades and climb into the rear of the jammer for some horizontal time. Actually, I do not close my eyes immediately, but linger for a time and watch some videos, and extend the time I am awake in order not to have to get up so early in the morning. Sometimes, I find it mentally tough to deal with the shortening days, especially since I live in my vehicle and I am without daylight much of the time awake.
There is only so much daylight as the days slowly wane to the 21st of December, 3  known to many of us here on this Earth as the Winter Solstice, and which is the shortest day of this year, well at least in the Northern Hemisphere. Even with the days now becoming so short, that solstice is today, still 56 days before the celestial event. Then, when that celestial event has come and past by, the days will once again begin to lengthen as the sun begins its annual seasonal migrations from that Hibernal solstice (when the days begin to lengthen) to the Vernal equinox (when at the jubilee of colorful flowers), then to the Estival solstice (when the days return to becoming shorter) and then back to the Autumnal equinox (when at the jubilee of colorful leaves.)
Still, over the years, I have come to find that when the nights are waxing long, these are the times that are quintessential for reading in God′s Word, the Bible.

Overnighting in a Parking Lot
Awake, arise, dress, climb forward, start the jammer, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I continue here until about twenty-five minutes after noon when I pack out to the jammer, change into my meeting clothes, get into the jammer and drive to the Dumas Kingdom Hall for the weekend meeting with the local English congregation. There is also a Spanish congregation that meets here, but I learned Thursday evening that they were traveling to McAllen, Texas for the wedding of one of their elders. Still, I really enjoy visiting with these friends in the English congregation and being able to make their acquaintance during this past week. Methinks, I will come here again, but likely, it will not be until the Earth has been restored to a paradise. After the meeting, I walk out to the parking lot, climb into the drivers seat and drive south on US 87 out of Dumas. While driving, methinks "It is funny, every previous time I have come into this town, I have only overnighted at the Limited Free Campground for one night and then moved onward to my destination. I am so glad this time I did my visit here different."
Driving south on US 87, I cross the Canadian River again, this time upriver from Lake Meredith but only about twelve or thirteen miles. Where I cross the river has become a recreational site for the locals, or actually part of the Rosita Creek Flats OHV Area who arrive on the weekend to drive on the miles of dirt trails. I take a couple of photos and then depart to continue south on US 87. It only take me about one hour to drive completly through Amarillo, even with the short stop to purchase my first What-a-burger since arriving back in Texas. I eat the burger while I am driving and soon after arrive at Canyon, Texas, where I take exit 106 from IH 27 onto the Palo Duro Canyon State Park roadway.
Upon turning east onto SH 217, I drive the ten miles to the state park. Once I arrive at the park entrance, the ranger tells me that today is fee free day in the park. I thank her and then drive east on Park Road 5 towards the canyon, then down the park road into the canyon for four miles to the Hackberry Campground Loop drive to the Restroom and Shower House, park, gather my shower items and walk inside for a steamy hot shower. I know that this shower house has steamy hot water (because of my previous visits here to Palo Duro State Park) very much unlike my last shower two weeks ago on 12 October upon camping at Itasca State Park Campground, which shower water was barely warm.
After the hot shower, I walk outside the R&SH and talk with a young couple, Hirii and Loda from Ukraine who have received refugee status here in the US. I talk about my website and let Hirii take a photo of my web page on my phone showing the web address. Also, I tell then about the Limited Free Campgrounds and show them the map in my atlas. Hirii and Loda both thank me and I wish them success in being allowed to continue here in this country. I then get into the jammer and drive out of the state park, then north to the junction of US 87 and US 60 were I turn west on US 60 and drive to Hereford, Texas, locate the Limited Free Campground, park, plug in and then get into the back of the jammer for the evening.

I remain here until some time after noon, when I pack out and drive to a local hardware store to purchase a new lid for one of my thermo-cups. After that I drive back to the City RV campground to set up my campsite and set up for another night here in the jammer. There are five separate campsites but only the first and forth campsites have working 110 volt receptacles (which my electrical needs require) and currently there are other RVs in both of the sites with working 110-volt receptacles. However, both RVs are plugged into the fifty-amp 220 volt receptacles and are not using their 110 volt receptacle. Therefore, I park next to the RV in space four and use the working 110 volt receptacle.
Next, I get into the jammer, plug in my computer and get busy with pounding keys, still working on both the Northern Tier Route and endeavor to complete all of the associated pages.

While I await for the water to boil, I get out my three cups and then prepare my three cup meal. Once the water boils, I then pour the hot water into the three cups, after which, I carry all three cups into the jammer. Finally, I stow all of my gear back into their places inside the jammer and then climbed back inside to eat my f-meal while I continue pounding keys.

I drive to Littlefield, Texas where there is the Waylon Jennings RV Park, but the campground is nearly full and it look like, from the looks of the concrete blocks holding up some of the RVs, and the excess storage containers under other RVS, those camping there have been there for longer than the four days that the local rules specify. I find that it has a flush toilet but there are padlocks on them. I choose not to stay and drive out of this park south on US 385 to the next one.
The next Limited Free RV park it in Levelland, Texas and I find thia campground no better than the lalst one and continue south on US 395 to then next town, Brownfield, Texas. However, when I arrive at the kingdom hall on East Magnolial Avenue in Brownfield, I find that the midweek meeting was last night, Wednesday evening. So, I continue south on US 385 to just outside of town to a very large park complex and find that this limited free campground actually has a flush toilet, even though it is in the rear of the large city park.
Therefore, I select a campsite, plug in and climb inside to set up. Next, I step outside, boil water in my kettle and make my morning three-cup meal. Once that is done, I stow my gear, climb back inside the jammer and enjoy my food. Too, I spend the rest of the day pounding keys and working on different pages of my website. When the sun begins to drop to the horizon, I get out one of my cans of chili to eat and watch the recorded meeting that Robert from the Oak Harbor Congregation had sent to me. I received it today after I had arrived and I immediately thought how well that Jehovah provided for his people. After the meeting ended, I then work on my journal entry for the last couple of days, getting caught up. Finally, I get into the horizontal and watch a couple of videos.
Thank you Jehovah for another wonderful day.

Awake, arise, step outside to set up my foot stool and use it as a table for my kettle to boil water. While the water is heating up, I get out my three cups and begin preparing my f-meal. When the kettle begins to send out steam, I grab the handle and pour hot water into the three cups. 4 It is nice having two insulated cup for hot liquid which really keep the drink hot for some time. After enjoying my f-meal, Jim, who I had talked with yesterday when he pulled in next to my vehicle, came over to say farewell to me. He is the same age as I am, even graduated from High School the same year that I did, and he grew up in a large Texas megalopolis suburb the same as I did. However, his Texas town was Everman, a suburb of Fort Worth where mine was Pasadena-Deer Park which is a suburb of Houston. Too, he has been full time RVing for several years now and I tell him about my wayfaring travels that I have been recording on my website.
When he leaves, I return to the work on my web site pages and continue throughout the rest of this day. When the sunset arrives, I open up a couple of cans and pretend that I am eating real food for my supper. Then, the sun sets and the sky goes through its various colors in its transformation into night time. It is nice to have the electricity that these free panhandle campgrounds provide, especially since I am traveling with limited amounts of money.
Some time after the sun sets, I turn on my phone, and open my banking app, hoping to see that my VA deposit has been made. When I got to the Accounts Page, I scrolled down and see that there is over four hundred dollars in my main account. Ever since the landlord refused to return my $2000.00 security deposit four months ago, I have been having a tough time during the last week or two of each month, struggling with little or no money. Some months, I have had to just stop driving, set up camp and wait for the first of the month for my money to be automatically deposited into my bank account. That landlord withheld my deposit because he thinks that he deserved that money, however, he did so without following the Washington state laws (RCW) that specify and control the interactions between the Landlord and tenant. According to the RC, he failed to provide the required written checklist specifying any and all conditions for the retention of the security deposit.
Too, according to the RCW, he is to provide me with a copy of the written checklist (and/or statement), both the one at the commencement of the tenancy and another written checklist at the end of the tenancy. These two written checklists are required by the RCW, (he did not provide either) and which should specifically describ the condition and cleanliness and existing damages to the premises both at the start and at the end of the tenancy. Again, he did not provide either of the checklist statements. Finally, the RCW states that these two checklists or statements must be signed and dated by both the landlord and the tenant, which part of the written code prevents the landlord from manufacturing a false document after the fact. I plan, when I return to Washington next summer, to file a small claims lawsuit against that landlord. The same RCW allows the tenant, if he is the prevailing party in the suit, to receive twice the amount of the original security deposit plus costs, and from what I have learned about these types of law suite, I have up to three years in which I am able to file this action.
. Now, the day has totally expired, the night is upon me and I turn off my computer and get into the horizontal.

Sleeping in the Jammer
Coleman RV Park, Campsite #7b
Limited Free Camping
Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, climb forward into the drivers seat and then step outside to unplug the electrical cord, roll it up and place it on the front passengers seat. Next, I climb back into the drivers seat, start the jammer engine, pull forward some twenty feet and step outside to do my walk and look for anything I have dropped on the ground. I see the pocket sleeve that was previously on the front passengers seat, so I bend down, pick it up and then return it to its place on the seat. Actually, the front seat is not the place for anything but is a catch all for those things that I just have not found a permanent place for. The same is true about the front passengers seat foot area; I keep a lot of things on the floor in front of that seat. Maybe one day, I will go through all that stuff and possibly find a real place for all of those things.
I climb back into the jammer, start the engine, drive first to the John, after which I drive out of Coleman park, turn left onto US 385 and drive a short distance south to SH 137 where I turn left again and continue drive southbound on this highway. Then, I drive about thirty-seven miles before I arrive in Lamesa, Texas and find the next LFC RV park. I drive into town, connect to US 87 and immediately arrive at the RV park, which upon arriving, my memory recalls that this LFC has no restroom and that was the reason that I did not overnight here the last time I drove though this town. I then take SH 349 southward for ten miles and here, take a right onto SH 115. I follow this state highway southwest for about thirty-five miles and then arrive in Andrews, Texas, enter into town and drive to the community center and drive into the nest LFC RV park. However, I immediately see that the center is have a festival of some kind and also see signs on the RV electrical boxes stating that the RV park is closed today for the festival.
Therefore, I leave the LRC RV park, turn right onto US 385 and drive south another 35 miles to IH 20, turn right and drive west another thirty miles to the exit for the Monahans Sandhills State Park, drive down the exit and turn right into the state park. I pull into the headquarters parking lot, park the jammer, grab my neck wallet, walk inside the headquarters and ask if I can camp for two nights. When the ranger tells me, Yes, I ask, Do you have a space near to the restroom? She looks at her computer and says, Yes, space number 13 is available. I look at the park map that I had picked up and when I see that space 13 is just across the loop road from the restroom-shower house, I tell here that I will take it for two nights. I then return to the jammer and drive into the campground, park the jammer in space 13, put up the window shades, then climb into the rear and get out my computer to resume my key pounding.
I sit here in my mini-van, watching one after another RV pull into the canpgound loop. Me thinks, my van is miniscule when compared to each of those other monstrosities, not one less than thirty feet long. I look at the sun and see that it is not less than one hand above the horizon (meaning that there is less than one hour before the sun sets) which sunset will be at seven pm this evening. Tomorrow evening, due to the ending of Daylight Savings Time (DST), the sunset will be at six pm in the evening. I never really understood why there is need for DST or why we ever needed it. A native American once told me in reference to DST, "The white men who believe that changing the time really saves time, is the same as the man who cuts and inch off of one end of his blanket and then sows it back onto the other end, all the while believing that his blanket will be longer."
Finally, I have another can of food, passing it off again as something nourishing. After that, I get into the horizontal and await the end of the Daylight Savings Time, well, at least for this year. At just before seven, I grab my shower bag, towel and some clean clothes and walk the one hundred feet to the shower house. It takes the hot water a minute or so to arrive to the shower head but once it does, the water is steamy hot. I truly enjoy getting my body into this hot water; it seems to have been a really long time since my last hot shower, but when I look back in my journal, I find it only six days ago at the Palo Duro State Park. However, I have paid for two sleeps here in this state park, thus, I will have the opportunity to have two more before I leave on Monday before noon. By that time, I will be fully showered and ready to drive to the next overnight location.
Arriving back to the jammer after the steamy hot water, I get out my computer and complete the journal entry for this day. All things being what they are, I am just glad to have a night of sleep in clean clothes, and thank God for this as well as all of his blessings. I have only one bar of phone service and that comes and goes, so I will not be uploading much if anything for the entire weekend. After I leave this state park, I will be driving to Odessa, Texas and overnighting at one of the several d-marts there. Further, while driving here I saw one d-mart with the price for regular gasoline set at $2.37 which is the lowest I have seen the price of gasoline on this entire Journey On. Too, I can not imagine what the price is in and around Houston. likely at two dollars of even below.

Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, climb into the front of the jammer, don my shoes, step out and then do my morning walk. Upon returning to the jammer, I open up the rear, grab my three ups and add the specific items in each to prepare my f-meal. Then, I set the three cup further forward, close the rear lift door, walk around to the drivers door and climb into the jammer, not stoping until I am sitting in the office seat. I then set up my water kettle, fill it with one liter of water, place the kettle on its base and turn the switch to the on position and wait for the water to boil.
Meanwhile, outside, a covey of scaled quails run quickly through the area checking it out for food. Two of the quail fly up to the top of one of the picnic table shelters while the rest fly off to the near by sand dune. They then all leave as quickly as the arrived and the sand dunes all return to their quite tranquility.
I return my attention to the computer and resume my key pounding until about eleven this morning, when I begin to feel hungry. Methinks, without any DST change, the time right now would be noon and that is why I am feeling hungry, it is noon and my body is telling me that it is time for my lunch. So, I get out a can of salmon, use my P-38 can opener to remove the top from the can and have my m-meal. I also take out a quart container of almond milk to drink, both during my m-meal and then for some time following. The almond milk serves as a filler which keeps me from wanting to eat more after the large (15 ounce) can of salmon. After eating, I again return to my computer and resume my key pounding.

Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, walk across the loop road to the mens room and then return to the jammer to prepare my three-cup f-meal. For the third time, I do not boil the water outside but instead set up the electric kettle on the desk top, add water, plug it in and turn on the switch. Simple as that, not fuss at all and my meal is ready in a few short minutes. Then, I put away the kettle, get out my computer and begin pounding keys while I eat my breakfast. Immediately after I finish eating, I grab my shower bag, towel and walk to the shower house for a hot shower, the third one since arriving at the sand dunes state park. After the shower, I walk back to the jammer, open up the doors and then disconnect the electrical cord, roll it up and place it on the front passengers seat. Next, I climb in, start the jammer and drive it forward twenty feet. Then, I get out and check for anything that I might have dropped buy find the ground to be clean. After that, I drive out of the campground loop, then through the sand dune drive, exit the state park, and finally, I drive to the interstate entrance to access the east bound lane of IH 20.
I stop first in Odessa, Texas at a d-mart to purchase a couple of items and I am astonished to find from the same collection to trousers I have been wearing for most all of my adult life, a selection of sizes in navy blue, a color that I have been hoping would coming into the collections inventory, which previously, there was only tan, green and gray. Now, after my shopping and upon returning to the jammer, I have my very first pair of navy blue nylon cargo pants hanging on the clothing rack in the jammer.
I continue driving for over two hours and eventually arrive in Abilene, Texas, where I pull into the parking lot of the w-mart, walk into the air conditioned cafe, ask for a glass of iced water and then sit down to complete my journal entry for today. The cafe stays open until 10:30 pm, but I am overly tired from today′s drive, therefore, I will only stay in the cafe for as long as I can before I must needs pack out to the jammer for the night.
Meanwhile, while looking out from inside the w-mart, I behold the sun as it drops slowly to the horizon and perceive the sky′s initiation of its nocturnal transformation. At first, with ne′er a cloud to be espied, the sky takes on a deep blue hue, after which, when the sun is totally below the horizon, a faint yellow remains as the threshold between the earth and sky. Very soon after that, when the sun plummets deeper below the edge of day, the sky turns to a gold color, then burnt orange, next, crimson and then brown before finally fading to gray. As the light of this day begins to fade from the sky, some of the planets and bright stars begin to appear. Then, finally, the light of day disappears from the sky, leaving all of the numerous stars to take their place within the nonpareil spectacle that is know to all of us as the night sky. The moon, which is currently in the waxing gibbous phase with about ninety percent of it surface showing, was shinning brightly throughout its entire night journey.
Furthermore, because of the recent changes in the DST, what befuddles me is that most of this entire scenario takes place before six pm this evening.

Awake rested after a long sleep, arise and dress in my fall blues including my navy blue bandana, especially after I used and washed it in the shower at Monahans Sandhills state park during my week end stay. I climb forward to the drivers seat, start the jammer, pull out of the parking lot and immediately into the lot for the w-mart, drive to the handi-cap space and back in. Then, I step out of the jammer, open the rear lift door and begin to prepare my three-cup meal. When that is done I put the two cups with lids in the wide pouch of my computer bag, carry the open cup and then walk into the w-mart for my cup of hot coffee and a large cup of hot water. Then, I sit down at my selected table, and wait for my purchase, which when I am called, I retrieve from the counter, walk back to the table and then proceed to make my three cup meal by adding hot water to my cups.
The day quickly turns into afternoon and I remain inside the w-mart while outside the temperature rises all morning, first into the high 70s and in the afternoon, the low 80s. Shortly after the sun sets, the direction of the temperature reverses and begins back down into the 70s and by eight this evening, it drops below 70 degrees on its way back to to the good sleeping weather that I do enjoy at night time here during this season.
Then, I pack out of the w-mart, drive across the street to the Texas bean-mart for a couple of burritos and when I receive them, I add to them several items from the salsa bar, then, I sit down at one of the tables to eat. After eating, I drive to the same location to park that I parked last night, which is also the same location that I have been parking when in Abilene each time I overnight here.

Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, climb forward, start the jammer engine letting it warm up for a few minutes, then I drive from the d-mart parking lot to a ff-mart to purchase coffee. After I have my second cup, I drive south on Buffalo Gap road some fourteen miles to the entrance to the Abilene State Park and ask for a place to camp. However, the ranger tells me that the campground is full for the weekend. I as for a day pass and she gives it to me saying, entry today is free because it is Pioneer Days. I did not even have to show her my Texas Veterans Passport, which I have had for over a decade and gives me free entry to all of the Texas State Parks.
I had wanted to camp for the weekend, specifically to plug in Sunday night when the temperature is forecasted to drop into the low 30s and also so that I could take two or three showers in the park shower house during my stay. However, by instead acquiring only the day pass, I drive directly to the closest shower house, grab my towel and shower bag, walk inside and take shower. The water is a medium hot shower (MS), which means when you turn on the hot water, you do not have to add any cold water to it, but is sufficiently hot enough for a shower. After my shower, I walk back out to the jammer, start the engine and begin my drive out of the park and back north to Abilene. Once I arrive in town, I stop at the Taco Bueno for a bean burrito, take that burrito to the salsa bar and load it with cilantro, jalepenos, pico de gallo, onion, and hot sauce making this one burrito a full meal for me. After eating, I then drive across the street to the w-mart, grab my computer bag and walk inside for a cup of hot coffee, com and computer.
I remain inside the w-mart as again today, the temperature sores into the low 80s. I stay here inside until the temperature reverses and comes back down, and I suspect that when the sun drops below the horizon, it will go below 70 degrees, which is cooled off enough for me to pack out, drive to the parking lot next door, put up my window shades and get into the horizontal for the evening.

The meal is two eggs, two sausages, two strips of bacon and two pancakes. I add hot sauce to the eggs but no syrup to the pancakes and then enjoy my first of several free meals on this annual day to honor the nation′s veteran and active duty military. I have for many years enjoyed the free meals and other benefits that the commercial establishment provides for veterans. After my first meal, I drive to a hair cut salon for a free haircut coupon, which allows me to receive a free hair cut from my regular salon any time until 05 December of this year. Next, I stop at my favorite hot dog restaurant chain for a chili dog and soda. However, I only fill my cup with ice water. After leaving this cafe, I drive across the street to a w-mart, connect to the internet and receive my free small coffee. Here, I plan on staying for the next three to four hours and resume my work on the webpage.
Then, at about fifteen minutes until four this afternoon, I pack out of the w-mart and drive to the nest free meal, this one being the Olive Garden restaurant chain, arriving for my evening meal. I have the soup and salad with bread sticks, The wait staff bring me a large bowl of salad and my first bowl of soup. I end up having a bowl of each of their soups, which I like all of them. When I finish my meal, the waitress says, since you are a veteran, their is no charge, thank you and come again soon. I give her a nice tip and then walk out of the restaurant back to the jammer and then drive back to the Buffalo Gap Road w-mart. Upon arriving at the exit ramp, methinks, "Wow, that did not take long at all!" and soon, I am pulling into the parking lot of the next w-mart, park the jammer, carry my computer bag inside and locate a table in one of the cafe corners where I plug in my computer and begin pounding keys. Too, I look on my phone at my weather app where I find that the daytime temperature will be in the high 80s for the next five or six days after which the current Indian Summer should be over for this year. Awake, arise, start the jammer engine, dress in my fall blues, climb forward, and drive out out the d-mart parking lot through a maze of inter connecting parking lots to the w-mart where I park in the cafe′s only available space, the handicap parking. I am just glad that my license plates vouch for my parking in such spaces. Too, having such license plates gives me access to close to store entrance parking at most every location that I frequent. I then carry my computer bag inside, set up at one of the corner tables, after which, I walk to the counter to purchase a cup of hot coffee and ask for a large cup of hot water.
The coffee goes into my insulated cup, the one into which I have previously put a tablespoon of mushroom powder and then, I carry both the coffee and the hot water back to the table. Once I am sitting, I pour the hot water into my second insulated cup into which I have put two tea bags. Then, what remains of the hot water, I pour into my cup of Daystart, stir well and then enjoy my morning meal with my cup of mushroom coffee and another cup of herbal tea. Another day in the life of a Wayƒarer begins, during which, I resume the key pounding in my never ending effort to capture this life of mine within the words upon the pages of my website.
When the sun set arrives and this day ends, this old Wayƒarer packs out his things, returns to the jammer, and drives to the nearby parking lot at which point he backs into the same parking space for the second consecutive night. Too, like the previous overnight, the temperatures remain much higher that the Wayƒarer prefers, and so, he continues here in the Central Great Plains of West Texas and waits for this Indian Summer to come to its eventual conclusion.

At eleven-forty am, I connect to the Oak Harbor, Washington congregation for the weekend meeting, greet the friends, who are surprised to see me and enjoy the meeting from my Texas location, two time zones to the east. Meeting time in Washington is still 10:00 in the morning.
When the day comes to an end, after the sunset, it finally cools off enough for me to walk out to the jammer and move to my overnighting location.

Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, climb into the drivers seat, start the jammer engine, and drive through the several parking lots to arrive at the w-mart, park in the same handicap spot I have been parking in during the day since arriving at this overnighting location and carry my computer inside for coffee, com and key pounding.
I continue here and work on my new feature page, one which I only recently realized that there is a weighty need to include on my website, which page will be information and photos of the Wetlands, specifically those in North American.

Sleeping in the Jammer
Overnighting in a Parking Lot
Awake, arise, start the jammer and drive through the parking lot maze to the w-mart, park in my regular spot, walk inside and begin another day of staying inside the air conditioning to avoid the hot Indian Summer.
When I become overly tired of sitting, I pack out to the jammer, which is also the close of this days daylight, and drive through the city of Abilene, into and through parts that I have never seen, finding this city having a vast variety of all sorts of neighborhoods. Too, the seasonal lights are just beginning to be strung. After inputting the wrong GPS coordinates into my maps app, I finally arrive at the Southwest Drive d-mart to overnight.

Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, drive to the Buffalo Gap w-mart, park the jammer and walk inside the air conditioning and dry provisions of the cafe to wait out the front that is currently passing through this area. The rain continues all day long, at times, even coming down in a torrential down pour, but at most times just steady. I remain inside all day until some time after the sun sets. Then, I drive north on US 84 to the next exit, get off and turn under the overpass, driving until I arrive at the d-mart where I park, climb into the back and get into the horizontal.
Then, at 01:30 in the morning, I awake to empty my bottle and see three d-mart employees walking towards my van. They walk up to the jammer and one woman knocks on the window and then a second time after which I open the side sliding window and I am told that the store does not allow people sleeping in their vehicles in their parking lot. I answer, OK, close the side slide window and the climb forward to start the jammer. Then, I get dressed in my summer blues, and drive out of the parking lot, back south to the next exit and pull into the parking lot next to the w-mart. Here, I park, climb back into the rear of the jammer and get back into the horizontal.

Sleeping in the Jammer
Overnighting in a Parking Lot
Awake, dress in my fall blues, start the jammer, drive next door to the w-mart, park, carry my computer bag inside and purchase a cup of coffee. Then, I sit down and pound keys to continue my work on my website pages. Then, at one in the afternoon, I pack out, drive out of the cafe parking lot, turn south onto Buffalo Gap Road and drive to the state park, pay for two night of camping at $12.00 per night and then drive to the wagon circle campground and back into space number 1.
Once the jammer is plugged into the electrical outlet, I then get out my hot plate, run a second electrical cord and plug it in as well. Next, I get out my ingredients for preparing my Repast, and set all the containers on the picnic table, but before starting to cook the Repast, I need to do some preparation. Except for four of the yellow onions, I chop up all of the remaining vegetable, put the chopped vegetables into my skillet, add some olive oil and stir fry the veggies. Then, when all the veggies are soft, the Repast cooking begins. I get out my cookpot, add water and bring it to a boil. Next, I begin putting in measured amounts of the grains: rice, mung beans and lentals; allowing the water to return back to boiling. Then, when all of the grains have become soft, I measure out a similar amount of quinoa as well as some of my dried seaweed and spice mix. After that, I continue cooking for about five more minutes until everything is done.
Along this entire cooking process, I greet my neighbor in the space next to mine, John, also a disabled veteran, who had got out his stove and placed several pieces of marinaded steak onto the flame to cook. We talk to each other during the cooking process and both finish about the same time, after which we go into our sperate vehicles in order to eat. Shortly after this time, the sun also sets while I eat my evening meal. My cookpot was full when I finished cooking and after eating, there remains about half of the Repast, which, with the amount that I have left over, I will have enough for my evening meal tomorrow.
After eating and then putting away all of my gear, I climb back into the jammer and turn on my computer to resume my key pounding

Sleeping in the Jammer
Abilene State Park
Wagon Circle, Campsite number 1
Coordinates: 32.210676, 99.797674
Elevation: 1,898 feet
My morning alarm awakens me and I arise, dress in my winter blues, step outside and walk to the pavilion in the middle of the wagon circle for the mens room. The sun has just risen above the tree tops in the east and my shadow stretches westward across the inner circle of the loop. Also, inside the inner circle is an ancient Live Oak tree that has large branches extending outward and down to rest on the ground. The last time I saw a live oak this large, I believe, was when I was at Goose Island state park, yes, in December 2022 when I was there camping.
Upon my return to the jammer, I climb back inside and turn on the electric heater to take the chill out of the inside of the jammer. I do not have to run it very long before I am taking off my shirt. Yes, the day warms up very nicely, and I find myself in only my shorts and shirt most all day long. True to my prediction about not having to cook supper, I have more than enough leftovers to satisfy my food needs. In fact, I was not hungry enough to may my Day Start but just waited until I was ready to eat my leftover meal from yesterday. I stay inside most of the day, getting out to walk to the mens room a couple of times. Also, I stepped outside in the middle of the day to examine the rear two fixed windows, and to cut the newly purchased window shade into the shape of those two windows. I got a good start on doing that, but installing them behind the plastic paneling will be for another day and likely will not happen until arriving at the bottom of Texas for my winter hiatus. Only then, am I likely to have the time to remove all the screws necessary to remove those panels. At about five this evening, I put away my tools and stow the window shades, close the rear lift door and climb back inside the jammer and again turn on my computer to update today′s journal entry.
The Wifi here has been lousy, barely enough to get online, but then not strong enough to download or upload anything. I am so glad that I decided to only stay two nights and until this state park provided better WiFi, I will, in the future, only come for a day pass to get a shower. Then, I get out my road atlas and examine where I will drive to next on my way southbound. When I do leave here, I will first drive back north to the first w-mart that I arrive at, stop, have coffee, check my com, upload the files that I have been working on whilst camping in Abilene State Park. Then, at noon, I will connect to the Oak Harbor, Washington Congregations for the weekend meeting. Afterwards, I will drive the jammer south again, this time to the area around Austin, Texas and look at stopping at Inks Lake state park or possibly Pedernales Falls state park for my next hot shower. Soon after that, I will be stopping in Wimberley, Texas so that I can visit with my sister Susan and encourage her some more about her spiritual health.
It is about fifteen minutes before eight this evening when I get into the horizontal, and I will read the first two chapters of the book of Isaiah before turning off the lights.

Sleeping in the Jammer
Abilene State Park
Wagon Circle, Campsite # 1
Awake, arise, step outside to a windless day and set up my water kettle but then must needs walk to the wagon circle pavillion and upon my return to the jammer, add one liter of water into the kettle and flip the switch to on. While I await for the water to boil, I get out and add the ingredients to my three cups and soon, I pour the boiling water into my cups. About this time, a woman walks by and when I greet her, she tells me her name is Yoko, that she was born and raised in Japan but now living in the US with her family. Two of here children, Fiona the oldest and Shannon, the young one, walk by, so I ask Where are you from? Fionna answers and tells me Midland. I ask if she has seen the Stonehenge at the university, and both the mother and the daughter answer Yes. Then I tell them about another Stonehenge located in Washington near that town of Mary Hill. I also ask During our conversation, I bring up my walk on the AT and share my website with the two of them. Finally, I greet then goodbye and return to inside the jammer and begin eating.
While I am eating, I open my computer, turn it on and as soon as the website app opens, I begin composing my journal for this day. Too, as the day begins to progress, the temperature rises slowly and the sun climbs higher into a cloud filled sky while a slight breeze begins to waft through the autumnal colored leaves of the surrounding live oak trees. Some time later, I step out of the jammer again to unplug and roll up my electrical cord, after which, I stow it in its place, climb back into the drivers seat, start the engine and pull forward twenty feet, about the length of the jammer so that I can check the ground under where it was parked for any pieces of trash or lost items.
Then, when this short sojourn has reached its conclusion I drive out of the campground and return to the Third leg of my fall southbound migration.
Leaving the state park, I drive back into Abilene to buy a Whataburger, after which, I drive south out of Abilene on US 84/US 83, and after passing the cut off for Buffalo Gap, I take the US 83 exit south bound and drive over 200 miles to the interstate rest stop not far from Kerrville, Texas. I park in a available space, put up my window shades, climb into the back of the jammer and get into the horizontal for the night.

Awake, dress in my fall blues, climb forward and start the jammer. Then, I drive out of the rest stop and travel west on IH 10 to the next exit, then get off of the interstate highway and drive to SH 16, turn left and drive south for about half a mile to a w-mart, park right in front of the cafe and then grab my computer bag to go inside for, coffee, com and key pounding. Later, I call my sister Susan and she invites me to a turkey dinner at her home, but I tell her my story about how I have for so long been turning down the holiday meals from all of my siblings ever since I became one of Jehovah′s Witnesses. I tell her that it is no disrespect to her but is for the primary purpose of giving glory and praise to Jehovah, the most high whom I wish to please in everything I do. I am not sure if Susan has really come to know Jehovah yet, but I am hoping and praying that she and her male friend will learn what it means to know and love the one and only true God Jehovah.
I remain here in the W-mart the entire day and not until after it have become totally dark outside do I pack out and go looking for a location to park for the night. Earlier, when I was leaving the IH 10 rest stop, I searched on my phone search app for a w-mart and found this location in which I have been all day long and during that search, I noticed a large parking lot that was adjacent to the w-mart parking lot. I will look there first for my overnight location.

Awake, dress in my fall blues, climb forward, start the jammer engine, wipe the condensation from the windshield and when I can see to drive, I move the jammer from my overnight location to the front of the w-mart. And, yes, I overnight in the parking lot of an adjacent store. Then, I grab my three cups, step outside, walk to the back of the jammer, open the rear lift door and begin preparing my three-cup f-meal. Next, I set my three cups into my computer bag and carry everything into the cafe, sit down, set up my computer, then walk to the counter to order my tall cup of coffee and venti cup of hot water. I ask the barista to use my Yeti cup for the coffee and she uses a paper cup for the hot water.
I then return to my table and prepare my three cup meal, pouring the coffee into my other insulated cup in which I had previously put a teaspoon of mushroom powder. Then, I take the two individually wrapped tea bags from my pocket, open the packages and place both the tea bags into the Yeti cup, into which, I pour sixteen ounces of the hot water. Next, I pour the remaining hot water into my sierra cup, in which I had previously prepared my Daystart and finally, I begin enjoying my three cup meal. Thus begins another day in the life of this Wayƒarer.
Then, during the bulk of the remainder of this day, I re-write all of my downloadable files, those links which are found on my Quill Strokes page. So, now, all of these files have been updated for those who would like to download then. I continue here inside for the remainder of this day awaiting the evening to arrive and when it does, I pack out to the jammer, drive to the adjacent store parking lot and get into the rear of my vehicle for the evening.

Sleeping in the Jammer
Overnighting in a Parking Lot
Awake before my first alarm, arise, dress in my fall blues, start the jammer engine and then wipe the condensation from inside the windshield, which is a lot less than it was yesterday. When the jammer engine has warmed up, I put the transmission in drive and pull forward slowly past all the employee vehicles, across the short distance to the w-mart and then turn into the handicap parking space near the front of the cafe. After turning off the jammer engine, I step outside, grab my computer bag and walk inside the w-mart where I set up my computer on the double table near the front door. Once that is done, I walk back out to the jammer, open up the rear lift door, grab the two Yeti cups, add a teaspoon of my mushroom powder to one and then walk back inside to purchase my first cup of hot.
Next, I open my email and send Susan a copy of the EWG.org report of pesticides in produce, which informs her of those food items with the best report and those with the worst by providing a handy cut-out shopping guide. Next, I check the state park east of here and find it to be nearly full but that means that it will be open during the current holiday, so tomorrow, after having my coffee and Daystart in the morning here at the w-mart in Kerrville, Texas, I will drive further east hoping to stop at that state park for my next hot shower.
Sandhill Cranes
The cranes have taken a break along the Platte River in Nebraska, where they will rest for a day or so. I have been watching some of the many web cameras that have been set up, using my computer to capture some photos. I will upload the photo to my website soon.
Meanwhile, back here in Texas, my migration is currently in a resting stage as well as I must needs endure another holiday season replete with all the ignorant and crazy people. Like the sandhill cranes, I plan on moving south out of this location to keep ahead of the cold temperatures.
Outside, the daylight is very quickly fading into the night, so I must needs pack out of the w-mart, retire to the jammer and get ready for another night here along the Guadalupe River here in Texas.

Still on the Dry Side of the Climate Divide
Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, start the jammer engine, climb forward, remove the window shades and drive to the w-mart next door, where I park, grab my computer bag and walk inside for coffee, com and computer. I remain here until about eleven this morning working on my computer and sipping on my cup of hot. Then, I pack out, leave Kerrville, Texas in search of a state park where I can get a hot shower. The first park I go to is Guadalupe River state park, drive to the entrance station and get my day pass, with this state park seeming to be very busy with all of the city goofers out and about on their holiday jaunts. I just obtain my day permit, get back into the jammer and then drive to the first camping loop, drive to the restroom and shower house, park, grab my shower things and go inside for some hot water. Afterwards, I drive to the picnic area for some photos of the Guadalupe River, then walk to the Discovery Center but find it closed. Finally, I drive out of the state park, get back onto SH46 and travel east until I cross Bulverde, Texas an US 281.
I then turn left on FM 3259, drive east through Startzville, the right again on FM 2673 and drive through Sattler until arriving at the South Access Road that cuts across in front of the Canyon Lake Dam, and this short cut soon arrives at SH 306. Here, I turn left and drive along the north side of the lake. Upon arriving at FM 3424, I turn right and drive about a mile where I continue across SH 32 north onto Mail Route Road, which takes me another two miles and the GPS directs me to take a right onto John Knox Road, drive another two miles, cross the Blanco River Slime low bridge and continue another four miles on Wayside Road, then right on River Road, which I follow back to the banks of the Blanco River at which time I turn left onto Campfire Way and find the community swimming pool. At this time, I call Susan and I am directed to come over one street to the front door where Juan is waiting outside for me and shows me where to park. I then walk inside to be greeted by Susan and her family.
While thete, I offer to cook a pot of my Repast and the do so, but when it is done, I do not think anyone really liked it and go other things to eat. I package up the remaining Repast into my food containers and carry it out to he jammer to store it there in the cooler temperature. Later, I say good night to Susan and her family, pact out to the jammer and get into the horizontal.

The Journey On, Fall Southbound Migration: Fourth Leg Go Down Go Up
The Wet Side (Eastbound)
When my direction changes to an eastbound one, I very quickly cross the Continental Climate Divide from the Dry Side into the Wet Side, first going into the Cross-Over region of the Climate Divide, which currently resides between the 100th meridian and the 98th meridian. In effect, the further east that I drive from the 100th meridian, the more likelihood that I will have to undergo dealing with rain, and at times, even torrential downpours, especially if I am anywhere in the vicinity of the Gulf Coast, some of which coastal areas have more than sixty inches of rainfall per year.
Furthermore, I will remain within the wet side until I have driven all the way down into South of Texas arriving at the Rio Grande River Valley (or commonly known by the locals as just The Valley). Then, most of my time during the upcoming Winter Sojourn will be in areas with the longitude meridian at 99.0° or higher, effectively putting me on the Dry Side of the Climate Divide.

At about eighth-fifty this morning, I walk to the front door, which Susan has left unlocked, and enter. There is no one up just yet, so I walk to the restroom, and after that, I walk back out to the kitchen and sit down at one of the bar stools and wait. I go back out to the jammer and I prepare my three cup meal, carry some water and the three cups inside and boil my water. As I am pouring the hot water into my cups, the family begins to show themselves and finally, Susan come out. After I eat my morning Daystart, I tell Susan good bye and she replies by giving me a big hug. Juan comes over to greet me good bye as well and I finally carry my cuts back out to the jammer and leave the small community area.
I use my GPS to get directions to Dripping Springs, Texas, drive north about eighteen miles and stop at the w-mart, and here is where I am catching up on my journal writing for the last two days since my last hot shower. At about three-twenty this afternoon, I pack out of the w-mart, check my available options for camping around and neat to Houston, and select Altair Rest Stop. I leave Dripping Springs and follow the directions given to me by my phone GPS app, and I should arrive there just before the sunsets.

Shortly after, I walk to the counter to order my cup of hot coffee and a large cup of hot water. Once I receive the two cups of hot liquid, I return to my seat, prepare my f-meal and then proceed to eat while I sip on the hot liquid. Also, I continue to pound keys while I continue to work on web pages.
Then, after another day inside the w-mart, when after the sun sets, I pack out to the jammer, drive to the W-burger for a double meat all the way with extra onions. I sit inside this cafe to eat and when I am done, I drive to the d-mart, park and climb into the rear of hte jammer for another night here in Texas at the homeland of my family.
As I await to acquire sleet, methinks how odd it is that even though this area is the homeland of myself and my immediate family, not one of that family remains here in this area. No, any of those who are still living remain herein, but all have left for distant locations within this country. Now, as I remain here, with none of my siblings close and feel somewhat at a loss as this homeland that I grew up in and shared with all of my family has now been abandoned by all of us. Only do I occasionally return and visit with my friends from years past. I truly long for Jehovah′s paradise to arrive soon where in I will find my rest and peace.

When the temperature inside becomes comfortable for me, I drive from the d-mart to the w-mart, walk inside with my computer bag, set up at a table and then walk to the counter to order my cup of hot coffee and a large cup of hot water. Once back a my seat, I prepare my f-meal and proceed to eat while I sip on the hot liquid, and at the same time continue to pound keys.
In the late morning, a woman walks in, orders a hot chocolate and then sits down at the table next to mine. She start a conversation by asking me if I own the white mini-van right outside the cafe door. I reply "Yes." wondering why she asks. Then she tells me that she just had an inkling to talk to me. We talk for a short time and I then tweak the conversation towards speaking about the Bible, after which she becomes like a dry sponge during a rain storm. Yes, the more I tell her about the promise of the paradise and the hop of living forever on earth, the more she appears to be loving every moment. My thought continued to be, What is the catch? but that never came and then she wrote down her name and phone number on a piece of paper and handed it to me.
I kept showing here information on my JW Library app and then she asked if she could get a copy of the app. I answered, "Yes, and it is from Jehovah′s Witnesses, it is completely free and with out any obligation." So, I told her the app name and she went to the app store on her phone, typed in the name and when the app showed up, I confirmed that what she had found was the right app and so she click on it to download it to her phone. Next, I told her about the web site for Jehovah′s Witnesses, showed her on my phone the web site and some of what is available free to anyone who visits the web address. I also showed her how to request a Bible study and encouraged her to do so. She thanked me and said that she would do exactly that. Finally, shd looked at the time and said that she needed to go, said good bye and then walked out of the cafe.
I sat there in my seat, completely dumbfounded wondering if all that just happened or instead, it was just a dream. I looked down next to my computer and there was the piece of paper with her name and phone number on it. I then said a prayer of thanks to the most high God Jehovah for allowing me to be a part of what just happened, which could result in having one more person come to love Him as much as I do.

When the sun sets, I walk outside to take a photo of the expansive colors. Later, when the sky had turned to dark, I pack out, climb back into the jammer and drive back to the w-mart and park in a space for the evening. All is good for this insignificant servant of the most high God, especially after such a wonderful witness that I was able to give to a woman named Susan this past Friday during my stay here in the Texas very-flat coastal plains. Now, I must needs find the place where I put that small slip of paper with her information on it. I do so hate getting older as it make everything so much more difficult.
Then, after another long day of pounding keys, and composing words upon my computer, I pack out of this cafe, drive to the d-mart and eat the last portion of the Repast that I prepared at my sister′s home in Wimberley last week. Upon parking for the night, I get out the container of Repast, but there is a slight smell of it spoiling, so I step out of the jammer and then empty the container onto the ground under the hedgerow next to the parking lot. Then, I step back into the jammer and drive across the street to the W-burger where I walk inside to purchase a double meat, no cheese all the way with extra onions. Then I sit down and await for the burger to arrive to my table. After eating my meal, I drive back to the d-mart, park for the night and then climb into the rear of the jammer to get horizontal.
In fact, the only reason that I have stayed this long is to go to and visit the same congregation where I first came to many years ago. Methinks that it has now been some forty years now since that time when I arrived here and became a part of this congregation. Who, how time flys! I will return once again to visit with my friends here before I depart for the part of Texas at the bottom.

Along the hedgerow
Awake, arise, and due to the time allotted for daylight is still decreasing, last evening, I reset my first alarm before getting into the horizontal, moving it forward to seven o′clock (07:00) so that the day may have a little bit of light at the time when the alarm awakens me. Then, when the alarm sounds this morning, I immediately start the jammer engine and begin getting dressed. As soon as I climb forward into the drivers seat, I put the transmission into drive, move forward and then out of the parking lot, turn right onto the road and drive to the small strip of businesses where the w-mart is located and park directly in front of the cafe. I gather my thing, walk into the cafe, set up my computer on one of the tables and then walk back outside to the jammer, open the rear lift door and prepare my three cup meal. Once that task is complete, I walk back inside, set two of the cups on the table and take the cup earmarked for coffee to the counter and purchase a tall Pike and ask for a large cup of hot water.
Upon returning to the table, I pour the hot water from the large paper cup into my remaining two cups and then begin to enjoy my morning meal while I initiate my journal entry for this day.

Still on the Wet Side of the Continental
Sleeping in the Jammer
Overnighting in a Parking Lot
Awake, arise, lean forward and start the jammer which already has the heater turned on. I determined why I have been so chilled. First and foremost, I have not had a hot shower since Abilene State park on Day 650 TS, which when I check my calendar, has been twelve days. However, I have been ever vigilant at doing my alcohol and bandana baths. In fact, these baths, which my mother used to refer to as spit baths are the only thing that is keeping me from what I often refer to as the dreaded crotch rot. Still, even with being so vigilant and the alcohol wipe downs, I still have maintained a constant chill. So, what is the problem? I have determined that the reason is nothing more than the fact of location. Yes, where I am located is entirely within the Wet Side of the continental Climate Divide. It is here on this side where there is so much rain, nearly every night for several hours and during the days as well. Sometimes, the rain may stop, but the for and the mist almost never does. So, I must needs escape from the Wet and go back into the Dry once again. There, I know for a certainty that I will be much warmer.
Then, at six-thirty this evening, yes, it is after dark, which makes it evening, and I pack out of this Bay Area Blvd w-mart location, one which I have often frequented while I have been in the Houston Bay Area. I then drive to the Kingdom Hall which is not too far from here, in fact, the Hall is less that one mile from this w-mart where I have spent my entire day. This morning, I had left the parking lot where I had spent the night, a parking lot which is nearly eight miles south of this Kingdom Hall and likely the same location that I will return to again tonight where I will overnight. Yes, there are d-marts closer, several, but this Kingdom Hall is located in Harris County and anymore, conditions are just a little bit crazy within this County. Instead of staying in Harris County, I would rather drive out of the county, across Clear Creek and into Galveston County where methinks the conditions are a little less crazy, yes, somewhat more sane. Too, methinks that tonight will be the last overnight that I will be spending here along the upper Texas coast, and upon my waking tomorrow morning, I will begin the final leg of my Fall Migration.

Awake, arise, start the jammer, climb forward and begin dressing but need to step outside to put on my trousers. Then, I drive to the nearby w-mart, grab my computer bag and go inside and sit down at a table. Next, I return to the jammer to prepare my three cup meal, after which I go back inside and order my regular small cup of hot coffee and large cup of hot water. Once I have everything for my f-meal, I sit down and eat whilst I work on organizing my journal entries into some new sections to include the Fourth Leg: Wet Side (Eastbound) and the one that I will be driving after I leave the w-mart today, the Fifth Leg: South Texas Route.

The Journey On, Fall Southbound Migration: Fifth Leg Go Down Go Up
The South of Texas
If the truth be told, the state of Texas does not have a well defined coastal route traversing the state southward. Much unlike what is found along most of the Gulf coast in the state to the east, nor like what is found along the West and East coasts of the United State. Except for Texas, what is found on all three coastal shores of the US, there are major highways, either US numbered highways (US) and or State highways (SH), which follow all or at least nearly all of the coastlines. Some of the eastern states even have interstate highways (IH) that traverse close to the those coastlines.
Even thought there are a few highways in Texas which do follow the coast, these are infrequent, very short, have dead ends and are very widely spaced. None of the current coastal highways interconnect with any of the others that currently exist in the various areas of Texas.
Still, the state of Texas does have an inland highway between Houston and Corpus Christi, one that crosses several inland bays, bur for most of its traverse, remains from twenty to thirty miles inland from the Gulf Coast. This highways is the Texas State Highway number 35 (SH 35). However, south of Corpus Christi, there is only the US 77 and IH 69E routes which are actually much further inland that SH 35 and do not approach or cross any inland bays. These highways are found from about twenty-five to thirty-five miles inland away from the Gulf Coast. The above highways will be the main transit that will carry this Wayƒarer southbound on this fifth and final leg of this Annual Fall Southbound Migration.
After the completion of this fifth and final leg of this years southbound Journey On, I will then begin the next part of my life experience, the cessation of my annual Journey On southbound migration, and begin my Winter Sojourn, a respite (of nearly a season long) from all of my journeying (but more on that later in the next section).

Awake, arise, reach forward to turn on the jammer engine and the heater, after which I begin to dress in my fall blues. Next, I drive forward out of the camping space, turn left on Ocean Drive and head south to find the second restroom to see if it has a shower or not. I arrive at this restroom and no, it does not have any rooms for showers, but, it has been rebuilt some what, at least the old board facade barrier has been removed and the structure looks as if it was painted and cleaned up somewhat. I then drive down to the La Salle Monument and take a photo here as well. Then, I access state highway 316 and drive east and then north until it connects with SH 238, which I drive most of the way back into town. Finally, I arrive on SH 35 and use this to drive to the w-mart which I noticed when I drove to the campground yesterday. I go inside for coffee, com and computer, remaining here until two-forty-five when I pack out and drive back to the campground to prepare my chopped veggies covered with balsamic vinegar. I have really learned to love this type of salad, and I have found out the the soaking the veggies with vinegar preserves them for much longer than any other method would do.

Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, step outside and walk to the restroom. Afterwards, I walk back to my vehicle, open the drivers door, sweep out the crushed shells that have crept inside, climb back into the drivers seat and then drive out of the campground. I turn north onto Ocean Drive, drive to and through Magnolia Beach, Texas and then onto SH 316, turning north towards Port Lavaca. Soon, I arrive at a junction of state highways and continue straight onto SH 238 following it north to Port Lavaca. Upon my arrival in town, I stop first at the w-burger for a free veteran coffee and a breakfast wrap, one which is larger and costs half as much as those sold at Starbucks on the south side of SH 35. However, because the W-burger does not have any electrical outlets in their dining room, I leave there after eating and drive to the Starbucks for a receptacle and free WiFi. This, methinks, will become my new routine, a breakfast wrap and free coffee at the W-burger and then drive to the Starbucks (w-mart) for an electrical receptacle and free WiFi.
Afterwards, I drive directly across the state highway to the w-mart, carry my computer bag into the cafe, plug my computer into the receptacle and then walk to the counter to purchase a cup of coffee. Then, I sit down and resume my key pounding in order to compose my journal entry for this day. I remain in the w-mart until eleven-thirty when I connect with the Oak Harbor Congregation of Jehovah′s Witnesses for the weekend meeting. I connect early, and wait to be admitted into the congregation zoom window.
When I leave this w-mart location, I turn onto SH 35 and drive south for nearly fifty miles and then arrive in Lamar, Texas, which seems to be just a gas station and convenience store, but there are numerous housing subdivisions along Copano, Saint Charles and Aransas Bays which all surround the Goose Island state park. I turn left and drive east along Main Street for another 1.4 miles and then turn right again onto State Park Road 13B and very soon after arrive at the Park Headquarters. I then pull into a parking space, walk into the office and a park ranger ask what she can do for me. I tell her that I have not registered but would like an electric/water campsite, if possible in the area near the restroom and shower house. Then, I say, possibly site 107 or 106 and I have a State Parks Veteran Pass. She looks on her computer and says both are open for a long time. I tell her that I will take 107 for three nights. The ranger then works her computer and says, here is your reciept, that will be site 107 for three nights, at a cost of $60.00. I slide my debit card in the machine and soon, I have a printed permit to tape to my windshield.
Next, I drive into the state park, locate campsite 107 and back in. Then, I get out, grab my shower bag and walk to the shower house for a hot shower. Wow, this hot water took a very long time to arrive but was worth every minute of the wait. How long was the wait, well, that would be two weeks, yes, the last time I had a hot shower was at Abilene State park on Day 651 TS. Now, this old Wayƒarer is very tired from the drive today, so, I will get into the horizontal and do some reading, tonight in the book of Isaiah and some video watching. Too, now, I have the next three nights to rest up before my next move upon my southbound Journey On.

Awake to the first alarm, arise, get out my electric heater, plug it in and the turn it on. Last evening, when I got into the horizontal, the temperature was still in the high 50s so I did not get out the heater, but instead opted to just use my blankets. However, this morning upon getting up, there was a chill in the air. Yes, even with the sun being out this morning with completely clear blue skies, with my current longitude meridian at just less than 97°, I am still on the wet side of the Climate Divide.
Granted, the land here at 97° is becoming quite dry, however, I still awoke this morning with swollen, watering eyes, a runny nose and congestion with mucus, all signs of allergies. However, having allergies is a sub-set of the indicators of chronic inflammation. I must needs resume my healthy regimen of foods, otherwise, I will soon be replete with all of the worst diseases. So, at two this afternoon, I step outside, get out my cookpot and hot plate, carry them to the picnic table and proceed to prepare a healthy meal right her outside. First, I chop up some vegetables for a vinegar salad, using a recipe that I made up several weeks ago. Turns out, when I Goggled my recipe, I found that it has been in existence likely for ever. It is called giardiniera in Italian, jardiniere salad in French and when I have finished with the newest batch, now I know what to call it when I add the Cook Pot page which contains all of my personal recipes. Yes, even though I created my version of this recipe, I must needs now call it my Jardiniere Salad, that is when I do include the recipe in the Cook Pot: Recipe Book. I next take some of the remaining vegetables and using olive oil, I sauté the chopped vegetables, add some spices and when they are done, put then aside. Next, I boil a pot of water and add three branches of broccoli, also cut up to bit size pieces. When the broccoli pieces are all soft, I then drain the water into my drinking cup, which still has a couple of tea bags from my Daystart. Next, I transfer the broccoli into the skillet, add a little more olive oil and proceed to cook the sautéed vegetable and broccoli together, stirring all of it into a mixture.
As I am carrying everything into the jammer, I hear a cat′s meow, look around and see a black cat with white spots and four whit socks. I call it to come to me but it very shy. I thought about getting out a can of fish but then decided that doing that would likely keep it around for much longer that the park would like it to. So, I climb into the jammer to eat my mid-day meal and to continue to pound keys in the nicely warmed day. I look at the weather app on my phone and see that the next two days of my stay here at this state park are going to be even warmer. That is alright, methinks and I take another sip of my broccoli flavored tea, which, even thought it is not my favorite, I definitely do not dislike it. So, now with all this goodness in my stomach, I hope that maybe the allergy symptoms may decrease a little, who know. Then, at about four this afternoon, my eyes tell me that now would be a good time to take a senior nap.
Later, I move to the front-leaning-typing position and continue my monumental work of recording my passage through this system of things. The key pounding continues well into the dark side of this day, especially sine

Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, step outside and walk to the restroom building for my morning visit and while there, I wash and wring out two pairs of my under shorts. Afterwards, I return to the jammer and open the rear lift door to hang the under shorts up on my clothes line to dry. Then, I get out my water kettle, add water to the one liter line and flip the switch to the on position. Next, I take out my three cups, walk with them to the rear of the jammer, fill them with their assigned ingredients and finally set the three cups on the picnic table next to the water kettle. When the kettle pot begins to show steam escaping from the top, I walk back from under the real lift door, grab the kettle and pour the exact amount into each of the three cups. While doing this, I hear the loud roar of a motor boat leaving the docks and heading out into Saint Charles Bay (I know this is what causes the sound because I have been at that very dock when this type of fishing boat pulls out and heads to a favorite fishing hole.)
Now, however, I sit at the computer and pound keys whilst I enjoy my f-meal. Then, the day lingers on, I do an inventory of my food stores and make a list for shopping in Corpus Christi, Texas tomorrow and then, I take a senior nap. At four this afternoon, I step outside and see the waning gibbous moon with about 75 percent and decreasing in size. I then grab a pair of the now dried shorts, walk to the shower house and take my second hot shower since arriving. Next, I return to the jammer and have a package for dried fruit to eat, after which, I step back out side and close the rear lift door for the night, climb back inside and take my seat at the jammer desk to pound keys for a while more.

Sleeping in the Jammer
Goose Island State Park Campground
Campsite number 107, Bayberry Loop
Awake, although the morning arrives with bright sunshine, clear skies and a warm 59 degrees, everything outside is heavily saturated with dew. I arise, dress in my summer blues, step outside and make my morning stroll to the restroom. Upon my return I open up the rear lift door, put water in my kettle, turn it on and then start my preparations for my f-meal. When the water boils, I pour the measured amounts into each cup and then carry the three cups inside the jammer and put them in their places. Next, I return to the rear of the jammer to unplug and stow the water kettle. Now, all that is left is to unplug, roll up and stow my electrical cords and I can drive out of this campground. However, before doing that, I climb inside the jammer, take my spot in the front leaning typing position.
There is a small family of white tail deer browsing in the campground this morning, this being the first sighting of any wild mammals since my arrival. I have heard several birds each day of my stay, but have not seen any here in the campground. I continue here in the campsite, inside the jammer and pounding on the keyboard.
At about eleven this morning, knowing that I must needs depart by noon, step outside, unplug and roll up my extension cord, stow the cord in its place, climb into the jammer, start the engine and drive it about fifteen feet forward. Next, I get out and walk around the campsite to see if I have dropped anything. I pause, look up towards the far back of the site and see near the fire pit, my fold up foot stool, the new one which I most recently purchased. I walk back to the fire pit, grab the foot stool and stow it in its place in the rear of the jammer. Methinks, this is exactly why I always do the Pull-forward and then the Walk-around, because for some time now, I have become forgetful. I do not remember when I learned this practice, but it was when I was young, likely when I was in the Boy Scouts because I know that I have been doing it for a very long time. Later, while pounding the keys for this paragraph, suddenly, a memory pops into my mind.
Some time, in 1978, during my walk about on the Appalachian Trail, I remember once that I left my leather hat on the log that I had been sitting on. Latter, I realized that I did not have my hat on my head and so, I then walked back about four miles to that log where I found my hat still on that log where I had put it. Methinks, that was one of the memorable moments in my life that encouraged me to stop, turn around and look back at where I have been. Doing this has proved to be beneficial in keeping me from leaving things behind. And, yes, I will keep doing this for as long as I am able to remember to do so.
Next, I climb into the drivers seat, reengage the transmission and pull out of the campsite, drive out of Bayberry Loop, past the park headquarters and continue north on park road 13 until I arrive at 12th street where I turn right and drive about a half mile to the parking lot for The Big Tree, park, get out and walk the sidewalk around the tree taking photos, all the while hearing the loud calls of the sandhill cranes at their winter home just to the south. After this, I then drive around the large acreage where the cranes are located and when I arrive at a location where I can see them clearly, I take a few photos of the cranes as well.
I drive out of Goose Island State Park, turn southwest on SH 35, cross the Lyndon B. Johnson Memorial Bridge over the narrows between Copano and Aransas Bays, and then southwest through Rockport, to a point where the highway turns west to Gregory, Texas. There, the state highway, turns southwest again, connects with US 181 and together, they cross from Indian Point, over the Nueces Bay Causeway and arrive at the North Beach area of Corpus Christi. Here, the joint US 181 and SH 35 highways leave the old route and take the new route over the brand new Harbor Bridge, a double cable-stayed bridge, both of which have single vertical tower cable supports. At this point, I set my GPS app to give me directions to the hf-mart and drive there, the one on South Staples Street, park and go inside to purchase some groceries. Afterwards, upon leaving the grocery, I drive southeast through the city, connect to Texas State Highway 358 and turn left onto the highway. I drive west, cross the John F. Kennedy Memorial Causeway over the backwaters inland from Mustang Island and arrive on Padre Island and stop at the first w-mart that I come to, and one which I knew was here because it is one I have stopped at several time before.
Once I arrive at the w-mart, I grab my computer, and walk inside for a cup of coffee and hour after hour of key pounding. Then, long after it becomes dark outside, I upload the files that I have been working on, pack out of the cafe into the jammer, drive out of the parking lot and begin looking for a good place to overnight.
I do find a relative good location which is the end of a road at which ends leads to the Packery Channel Oak Motte Nature Park, a barren low lying area next to a backwater channel that has a small grove of Live Oaks tree.

Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, and start the jammer. I stop first at the w-mart for a cup of coffee, then leave to drive into Corpus for about twenty-three miles to the Veterans Administration building. Once I arrive there, I ask the attendant if I can renew my Veterans Administration ID card and she takes my information and asks me to take a seat in the waiting room. When I am called, there is at first a problem of finding my information, but that is soon resolved when I tell them that I am a snowbird and only winter here in Texas. The nurse creates a new ID for me but needs to mail it to my mailing address. When I ask, she tells me that she can give me a paper copy of the ID that I can use until I pick up my mail back in Washington state. I thank here and then return to the jammer to decide where my next stop is going to be.
After deciding to drive to the Robstown, Texas area west of Corpus Christi, I head out and drive another eighteen more miles westward and then stop at the w-mart on Northwest Blvd just off of the IH 69E. I have stopped at this locations several times in my past migrations. From here, I can drive about 140 miles to Laredo, Texas where there is a state park campground with hot showers and afterwards, drive southeast along the river to the lower valley, a route which I have traversed during many of my visits here. Instead, I could drive about the same distance, 140 miles to the bottom of Texas and when I arrive in McAllen, there are several locations to overnight there. Which ever route I decide to take, both are very familiar to me. However, what I really need to do is wait another week or so before I drive any further south because it is still quite warm during the daytime and I would prefer it to cool down just a little more. Now, I must needs leave to find a place to overnight.
When after the sun has set and the day has long been absent in the sky, I pack out of the cafe, start the jammer and drive east back down Northwest Blvd to the interstate highway, travel a short distance along the interstate feeder (side access) road and then turn into the parking lot of the d-mart where I look for a good location to overnight. In no time, I an parked next to a large oak tree and then climb into the rear of the jammer.
There is a good likelihood that these two locations, both the w-mart and the d-mart will accommodate me for more than just one overnight, just as they have done many times during previous migrations through here in past years. Too, although I now totally ignore one prominent feature in the w-mart, it still irks me that it is so prominent in the culture of the local natives. Yes, the seasonal holidays are replete with the songs and wishes of the celebrants. On the other hand, I made an informed choice over four decades ago to forego each and every practice that has anything to do with non-Christian (pagan) practices and worship. 5

Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, climb forward, start the jammer engine and drive near to the store entrance to dump my garbage in the trash receptacle. Then, I drive out of the parking lot, right on the interstate feeder road, right again on County Road 52, drive three quarters of a mile and turn right again on County Road 69 and when I arrive at Northwest Blvd, I turn left and immediately left again into the parking lot for the w-mart where I park in the same handicap space where I was parked yesterday. Then, my second day here in the Calallen area begins. Likely, when I decide what my next migratory direction will be, then I will leave this area and begin driving.
In the early afternoon, meet a man from India who is a chemical engineer and has received a new job at the Chemical refinery in Deer Park, Texas. He tells me that he will be looking for an apartment somewhere in the east side of Houston but does not want to spend much time commuting to work. I gave him a few suggestions as to where he could look in the Pasadena, Deer Park and Laporte areas. We also talk about my research concerning the native Americans, how they are descendants of the same son of Noah as he is. This interests him and he asks a lot of questions about the sons of Shem. Then, he has to leave for an appointment and I return to pounding keys.
The day slowly progresses but seemingly all too soon, the sun sets. However, I continue to remain inside the w-mart working on my web site. Then, some time after that I find that I am done with sitting in the w-mart and pack out to drive to the d-mart for the night. Still, before driving down the access drive to the d-mart, I stop at a w-burger for a double meat all the way with extra onions, sitting down inside the ff-mart to eat. Finally, I drive to the access drive turn in and drive to a parking space for the evening.

Then, I walk up to the counter and ask the barista for a cup of coffee and pay using the card that I acquire while in Austin, Texas. Finally, I return to pounding keys and the work on my website for the remainder of this morning. Later, I get ready for the upcoming meeting and then at eleven-thirty this morning, I turn on my Zoom app, connect to the Oak Harbor Congregation of Jehovah′s Witnesses and begin greetings those who are connecting as well.
Soon, the zoomers are all muted and then, the host, Brother Beckner, greets everyone and starts the meeting. Next, after a song and prayer, the public talk is announced, the speaker invited to the podium and the talk begins. Afterwards, the Watchtower Study is begun and the theme Jehovah is Our Exceeding Joy is discussed in in depth. We learn that it is necessary to continue to: (1) pray for Jehovah′s Holy Spirith; (2) Focus on worshipping Jehovah; and (3) Obey Jehovah at all times. These three goals are what is truly necessary for each of us to receive exceeding joy. (Psalm 43:4)
Finally, I say goodbye to the few Zoomers that remain, telling Monte that I am going to take my zoom square and depart to places where there are palm trees. I continue here at the w-mart for several more hours.

A couple hours after dark, I pack out, drive east on Northwest Blvd and then turn right on the feeder road and soon after, right again into the d-mart parking lot. I then drive to the same parking space, leave the jammer engine running for a short time for the interior to become toasty warm. Then, I put up my window shades and notice that the price of fuel at the nearby station has dropped another four cents. When I arrived here last Friday evening on 12 December, the price at the same fuel station was $2.54, but now, tonight, it is at $2.38, which is a sixteen cent total decrease in just three days. Methinks, the time of the year that I look forward every winter is fuel price drop season and this season has arrived upon me.
I climb into the rear of the jammer, get into the horizontal, close my eyes and dream of gas prices under two dollars, oil changes for ten dollars and new tires for twenty dollars each. It does not take long before I am asleep with visions of cheap gas prices and oil changes.

Then, I get up, climb forward, put the transmission in gear and drive forward out of the parking space. Leaving the parking lot, I follow the same route that I have been taking now for my four mornings, arrive at the w-mart, load my three cups with their established ingredients and carry the cups and my computer bag inside to sit down again at the table which has two, not one wall plug. I then carry the cup designated for hot coffee to the counter and ask the barista to put a tall cup of Pike into my cup and also ask for a venti cup of hot water. Soon, I am carrying the hot liquids back to the table, turn on my computer and resume my key pounding and cup of hot sipping.

In the early afternoon, a group of people who are dressed up and appear to be witnesses walk in. I hear one mother call her son Noah. I then ask, "Did your mom just call you Noah?" to which he answered yes. His mom turned towards me and I ask, "You got his name from the Bible, didn′t you?" She replies, "Yes." I then ask her, "Do you know any of the great crowd?" to which she smiles, and I ask "testigo de Jehová?" She then smiles large and asks in English, Are you also one of Jehovah′s Witnesses? I tell her, "Yes, I am." We begin talking and she tells me where the local Kingdom Hall is located in Robstown, Texas. She introduces me to her two sons, her friend and that sister′s two sons. When the get up to leave, two of the young men walk up to me to say hello and shake my hand.
I remain in the w-mart until long after it becomes dark outside, and then I pack out, drive to the w-burger for a double meat sandwich, drive to the d-mart, park and enjoy my evening meal. Soon after that, I climb into the rear of the jammer and get into the horizontal.

Then, I drive out of the parking spot and drive to a parking space more to my liking which is nearer to the w-mart so as to be able to see it from my seat inside the cafe. Even though I am now well within the dry side of this continent, this morning arrived with a thick fog. When I spoke to one barista who said that the fog is not normal. I return to the table with my coffee and enjoy my morning three cup meal.
Later, I say hello to a young woman who sits down at the opposite end of the long table studying her school lessons and ask, "Weren′t you here yesterday too?" to which sh replies, "Yes". We talk for a while and I learn here name is Vivianna, which I tell her, "That is completly new name for me, I have never herd it before." I tell her about my book writing and then, we both go back to work on our separate projects. I continue here until six-thirty when I finally pack out and drive to the w-burger joint for a sandwich. Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, grab my computer bag and walk inside the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I remain here all morning awaiting for the meeting to begin in Oak Harbor, Washington. Then, at just before noon, my time, I connect and join in the several already connected in the zoom squares. A local elder is giving the public talk and then another elder is conducting the Watchtower study. Afterwards, just about everyone leaves the zoom squares except Monte and myseif, which we only talk for a few minutes before we too, depart the zoom app and continue each out day.
Then, I pack out of the w-mart to the jammer, start the engine and drive out of the parking lot of the Bulluck and McPherson cafe, drive to the fuel station in next adjacent business and fill up my fuel tank, especially since this price, at $2.15 per gallon, is the least expensive fill up of this entire year. Next, I leave the north end of Laredo and drive onto the south westernmost extension of US 59 (short just of four miles, those miles that are connected to the border crossing) and its interstate replacement, IH 69W, the part of which is also called the Bob Bulluck loop around the city of Laredo.
Now, however, I am leaving out of this city, as it really is a large city, way much too large for me, I drive the Loop 20 east and then south out of Laredo, until Loop 20 arrives at a dead end. Here, I turn right and drive the one mile in order to connect to US 83, which highway follows the Rio Grande river southeast along the US-Mexico border. I continue southeast and only make one stop, that at the Falcon County Campground where I enter and drive to the open pagoda to see who is here. I find that there are no one of any importance, even thought the campground is full of campers. Well, I guess that would be par for a free campground with the only utility which is water spigots in several locations.
I choose not to remain and drive out of the campground, turn on the road that leads me back to the highway and then turn southeast again on US 83. I then drive through Salinero, then Roma and finally, Rio Grande City where I drive all the way through town where I stop at the W-burger for an evening meal, after which I drive to the west side of the d-mart and find a location where I feel good about parking overnight.
Finally, I climb into the rear of the jammer, open the side windows and appreciate any cross breeze that finds its way through these windows. It is a warm night and it takes a long time before it cools off enough for me to must needs pull up my bed cover. Later, the night becomes very quite and I actually sleep quite well.

I remain here inside all day so as to stay out of the summer like temperatures which rises to 88° and it does not look like it will be dropping anytime soon as the the daytime highs are going to remain upwards of 90° each day until after the first of the year, when there will be a little bit of a break, meaning that the highs will drop back to below 80 °, but not by very much. I will endure this for a little while, but if something does not happen soon, I will be ready to return north very soon.
I remain inside the w-mart today until nearly eight this evening and then drive to my location where I will park again tonight. Then, I will be eating the remains of my vinegar salad for my supper and for a change not purchase a burger. I just hope that it does not stay hot for very long tonight. This evening begins with it still being warm, I did not check the temperature, but I know that it is still in the mid to high 70s and suspect that the temperature will not drop below 70° until after midnight, and this current heat wave will remain until next week, possibly the twenty-ninth or thirtieth of December, but even then, any reprieve from the heat will only last for a few days before the daytime highs return into the eighties. This seems so uncommon for location during this time of year, but who am I to complain.

Too, upon arriving today, almost exactly like all of the previous days that I have been in this city, I back into the parking space so that the solar panel on my front dash can be facing to the east in order to keep a charge on my LiFePo battery. Also, while I have been in this location, I have been sitting at the same table, but today, I sit at a different table in the w-mart because some was sitting at the one next to the kiosk for napkins, cream and sweeteners. I then pull down the window shades to prevent the bright sunlight from blinding me as I sit at my computer and pound keys. Too, like all the other days of my dwelling in this location, I walk to the counter, greet the barista and order a tall Pike Place coffee and a venti hot water after which, I return to my seat and proceed to enjoy my three cup f-meal.
Then, when the sun sets, the day turns to night, and the hours wane into the early evening, I pack out of the w-mart, drive back south across the highway to my regularly visited parking location, put up my window shades, climb into the rear of the jammer and get into the horizontal for another evening.

Then, after I finish eating, I pack out, drive to the w-mart and connect to the internet here. I use the link that brother Beckner had sent me to connect to the midweek meeting broadcast and watch this meeting. I had been wanting to watch this meeting for several days now, but circumstances, forgetfulness and other reasons prevailed in my life this week. However, early this morning, I am able to enjoy the entire presentation, one which truly reached into my innermost person and tugged at my heartstrings. Yes, it was very inspiring and thought-provoking.
Soon after, I am connected to the Oak Harbor Washington congregation for the weekend meeting. After the meeting, I talk with Patty and Maureen for a little while and then say my good-byes to the sisters.
The rest of this day, I just continued my work on the current project, the Northern Tier Route. Later, after the sunset, and after the darkness filled the sky, I pack out of the w-mart, drive back across the street to the south side of the highway and assume the same parking space for the night.

I drive across the highway, into the small business area on the north side of the highway and stop first at the W-burger for a breakfast wrap and coffee. After, I eat my egg and bacon wrap, I then drive to the nearby w-mart for a second cup of coffee and a cup of hot water so that I can brew my cup of herbal tea. I continue here until a little after noon when I pack out, turn right onto US 83 and then west for about thirty miles to the state park where I ask for an electric campground near the restroom.
The ranger tells me that the nearest one is campsite 113 and I tell her that I will take it for two nights. Then, I tell the ranger, "You have been here for a long time." to which she smiles and tells me that she has been here for seventeen years. Methinks, that is about the same time that I began coming here, because my first time to this state park was on Day 1019 BR during the time I was really enjoying watching and photographing birds. She hands me my camping permit and I drive directly to the Mesquite Bend Loop shower house for a steamy hot shower. When I am done with that, I drive back down to the campsite, pull in, park and then hang up my towel and shower bag. Then, I get out my electric cord, step outside and plug it in. Next, I get back into the jammer climb into the rear, connect my battery charger and then set up my computer to resume my current work project.

The Winter Sojourn, South Texas Hiatus Go Down Go Up
The South of Texas and The Rio Grande Valley
Each year, upon my arrival and first sight of the Rio Grande River, I consider myself to have arrived here in The Rio Grande Valley, or locally known with in the South of Texas as The Valley. Further, that day when I do set my eyes upon the Rio Grande River is the day that I have been, usually for a long time, looking forward to arriving at, because each year after my southbound migrational Journey On ends, it is my winter hiatus that follows. Too, once I drive past and remain below the 28th latitude, I have arrived in the South of Texas, however, this latitude in Texas is located as a east-west line, and a line that is found north of both Corpus Christi, Texas and Laredo, Texas.
This year, after leaving the Houston-Galveston area, I began traveling southwest down the coast of Texas, at least until I arrived in Corpus Christi just after I first crossed the 28th latitude this year. Then, due to this fall being an abnormally wet season, I decided not to travel any further southwest along the coast but instead to drive directly west across the state of Texas, which during that drive, I traversed somewhat along that 28th latitude. I choose to do this so that I might arrive back on the dry side of the state, and upon arriving in Laredo, I found it dry enough to my liking, a dryness that was instrumental in drawing all the moisture out of the jammer.
However, due to the fact that I was still near the top portions of the what I call the South of Texas, (because Laredo is only a little below the 28th latitude) I must needs continue driving this years southbound migration Journey On. Yes, arriving in Laredo, Texas only means that I still must drive south for a time further. Then after staying in Laredo for three overnights, I then continued my southbound driving, but now it would be southeastward instead of the southbound coastal route which would be southwestward.
Interestingly, the southernmost location within Texas is ironically called South Point and is found at the coordinates: 25.8605144, -97.3837598, which is actually just a little further south than the Texas Starbase (25.9893231, -97.1828934 located on SH 4 near Boca Chica, Texas.
Indeed, I did see the Rio Grande River for the first time during this southbound journey when I arrive in Falcon Lake State Park. From my campsite, each evening, when the sun was setting, the sun would glisten off the waters of Falcon Lake. Methinks, now my winter sojourn has begun.

After a comfortable night with my heater on to keep the cold outside of the jammer, I awake, arise and begin my day. The first thing this morning is to make a trip to the restroom/shower house so that I may take my second shower since arriving here at this park. Also, since I have been here, I have had internet service which is provided by the state park, but opt to use my own hot spot connections, which is somewhat faster than that provided by the park.
Then, at about eight this morning, I step outside and begin boiling a liter of water, and while it is heating up, I get out my three cups and get them prepared with the ingredients of my f-meal. When the water boils, I pour the exact amount into each and then carry the three cups into through the drivers door and set them on the floor out of the way in the rear area of the jammer. Next, I walk back to the rear of the jammer, put away my cooking gear and then close the rear lift door. Finally, I walk back around to the drivers door, climb in to the rear of the jammer and sit down at my computer to continue pounding keys whilst I enjoy my f-meal.
In the early afternoon, I step outside and into the wonderfully warm day, greet a couple of the campers in adjacent sites and talk for a time. While walking about outside, I was able to see multiple glimpses of the lake waters. Later, I return to the jammer to resume my never ending work of recording the story of a wayƒarer into the pages of my website and even books. The day proceeds through to its end, the sun sets and I can see the its light glistening on the water. Then, the twilight begins and soon after that, there is a completely dark sky that settles in for the night.

After I don my clean clothes, walk back to the jammer and begin preparing my morning meal and when it is done, I carry my three cups into the jammer, climb in and move to the rear areas. Then, I turn on my computer to begin my journal entry for this day whilst I eat my f-meal. Once that is done, I continue pounding keys for another hour or so, after which I step outside, unplug the electrical cord, roll it up and then stow it in its place. Finally, I climb back into the drivers seat, start the jammer engine and while it warms up, I take down the window shades. Then, I drive out of the Mesquite Bend campsite area, turn left and the Ceniso Loop and drive to the Recreation Hall. When I arrive, I park, walk inside to see if anyone is there and I am greeted by Brenda, a volunteer worker. I ask if there is any coffee remaining and she tells me yes. I walk inside pore a cup of coffee and pick up two of the cookies and then sign in to the guest register.
After that, I thank Brenda for the coffee, leave the Recreation Hall, get back into the jammer, drive out of the state park, then down the state highway to US 83 where I turn right and drive south for, I measured it, seventy miles to the my next stop. After driving east on US 83, then continuing on IH 2, I then get off in McAllen, Texas on exit 142, the 10th Street exit (SH 336) and then drive along the feeder road for another half of a mile until I can see both the w-mart and the nearby d-mart where I will be overnighting for the next several weeks.
I pull into the w-mart, park, carry my bag inside, sit down at a table to resume my key pounding and to compete today′s journal entry. After that, I continue pounding keys and working on the pages of my web site. Later, I pack out of the w-mart, drive across E. Then, I walk inside, order a hot cup of tea and then sit down at the large front table to resume my key pounding.
I continue here in the w-mart after the sun sets and the sun light disappears from the sky, but being in this city, there is much artificial light everywhere. In fact, it appears that this warm spell will remain like this throughout the first week of January, not dropping below th low 80s until the tenth of the month. Yes, I will be spending most all of my time inside the local w-mart in order to be in the air conditioning there.

Next, I drive out of the parking lot, cross Jackson street and pull into the w-mart parking lot, park, carry my computer bag inside and begin another day of my regular routine: sip coffee, pound keys, eat my Daystart, sip coffee, pound keys and etc.
Then, at eleven-thirty, I don my wired earphones, use the Zoom app to connect to the Oak Harbor, Washington congregation for the weekend meeting, but it is too soon as no one else has arrived as yet. Later, at ten minutes before the hour, more of the friends begin to take their spot on the meeting squares. Soon, the meeting begins and I continue through to the end, when much like many other zoom meetings that have been before, most everyone pushes the leave button and departs to other pursuits, instead of staying for a time to visit. I too, say my good byes and click on the "Leave" button.
Once I have removed my ear plugs and have returned to the present, I walk up to the counter to acquire a refill of my coffee. Then, I walk back to my table to resume the key pounding and work on my computer. Some of the work that I continue doing is to update the Date-header and Sub-header formats throughout my web pages, a task that is quite daunting as well as time consuming. Still, the historical narrative of these last days which is interwoven though the pages of my website is one I hope to share for many years to come.
Thus, I continue pounding keys, writing words, and recording history.

(Day 694 TS) 50°F. 7:00 am, overcast
Winter Sojourn, Day Seven
Sleeping in the Jammer
Overnighting in a Parking Lot
Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, climb forward to the drivers seat, start the jammer engine, pull down the window shades and then turn on the windshield wipers to remove the condensation. With the day still in the twilight, I pull forward from my birth, drive out of the d-mart parking lot, through several other parking lots and right onto Jackson Avenue only to turn left into the parking lot of the the w-mart and pull in to the handicap space by the side door. I then carry my computer bag inside and take the table next to a window looking directly out at the handicap parking space. Soon after, I walk up to the counter, purchase a cup of Pike Place and ask for a large cup of hot water. Once I return to my table with the hot liquids, I begin pounding keys to start today′s journal entry. Too, I work on updating several other files.
As I work, several of the w-mart employee, apparently in management sit at an adjacent table and begin talking shop to one another. From the sound of there voice as well as some of their mannerisms, it is also apparent to me that one or more are what is called LGBTQ, an adjective which an endonym to describe there sexual orientation and gender identities. Personally, the idea of any part of that lifestyle disgusts me to no end and I choose not to association or even talk with them. However, because the current narrative and climate in the world is for acceptance of all types of people, I vehemently choose not to discuss my personal choice, which is Heteronormativity, or more commonly called the Path of the People of God.
Furthermore, I relate the disgust that I have for these individuals to the disgust that I have for people who are all tatted up. Methinks, doing this to one′s body is not only disgusting and make the person look filthy, but, according to the Bible, offends the Most High God. (see glossary link)

Winter Sojourn, Day Eight
Sleeping in the Jammer
Overnighting in a Parking Lot
I turn back to my current project and resume my key pounding, but, as the sun is at the horizon, I pack out, drive to the d-mart and go inside to purchase some food stores. I have need to buy a container of hemp seed, another of ground flax, and a third container of chia seed, something which only recently, I have added to my food stores. I also purchase more shredded coconut, as well as additions packages of organic teas.
After arriving back at the jammer, I then drive to my parking location, back into my parking space, and then step outside for a moment to look for at the moon but it has not risen yet. This means that I will see the moon tomorrow morning as it moves towards the western horizon. Then, I climb back into the jammer, put up my window shades and soon after, climb into the rear of the jammer to get into the horizontal for the night.

Winter Sojourn, Day Nine
Sleeping in the Jammer
Overnighting in a Parking Lot
Awake to another warm day, arise, dress in my fall blues, climb forward to the driver′s seat, start the jammer engine and pull forward out of the parking space, drive through the parking lot, cross Jackson Avenue and drive into the w-mart for another day inside for the air conditioning. I have found out that there is a cold front arriving this weekend during which I plan to drive west for a few days of camping in the state park.

(Day 697 TS) 50°F. 6:50 am, sunny, humid
Winter Sojourn, Day Ten
Sleeping in the Jammer
Overnighting in a Parking Lot
Awake, arise, dress, start the jammer and drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I remain here all day again as the temperature soars into the high 80s. I wait inside until after nine this evening before I venture outside to move to the d-mart where I have been overnighting. Most every night here has been very quite and the small parking lot that is separated from the main lot by a driveway does not get very many overnighters. Hasn′t since I have been parking here, not this year, nor ever had in the previous years of my overnighting her.
I then climb into the rear of the jammer, open my phone, access the meeting link that Brother Beckner sent me earlier this week and begin watching the midweek meeting. This time, I find that it is a different format, the conductor and the participants are all connected by a computer or possibly a phone. Several of the participants appear as a black screen, which methinks is a phone connection without a video connection. After the meeting, I turn off my phone and then do the horizontal and close my eyes.

Winter Sojourn, Day Eleven
Jupiter at perigee
Sleeping in the Jammer
Overnighting in a Parking Lot
Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, climb forward, start the jammer engine and the begin to pull down the window shades. Once all four are stowed in they place, I pull out of the jammer and drive across Jackson Avenue to the w-mart, park, carry my computer bag inside and begin another day sipping coffee and pounding keys. I remain inside until the outside temperature drops to below eighty degrees. Then, I drive across the street for a What-burger, after which I drive to the d-mart and park in my regular location.
It is still early this evening, so I use my phone to read for a time in the Bible. Afterwards, I get into the horizontal and close my eyes for the night.

(Day 699 TS) 50°F. 7:00 am, overcast
Winter Sojourn, Day Twelve

Sleeping in the Jammer
Overnighting in a Parking Lot
Awake, arise, dress in my fall blues, climb forward, start the jammer, pull forward out of the parking space and drive to the w-mart. I carry my computer bag into the cafe, order a cup of coffee and a cup of hot water, sit down at the round table and prepare my Daystart and cup of hot tea. Then, when these are ready, I begin enjoying my f-meal while I pound keys on my computer to begin my journal entry for this day. Once that is done, I then pack out and drive to a local hc-mart for my seasonal hair trim. After that, I fuel up the jammer because the price for a gallon of gasoline has dropped to under two dollars and ten cents (@2.10). It is always amazing to me how low the price of gasoline gets here in the south of Texas. Next, I drive to a local washateria to clean my clothes which amounts to only one load in the medium size machine. I do separate the clothes into two dryers.
Thus, after doing all of my chores, those that I have been putting off for several weeks because I knew that when I arrived here in McAllen, Texas, there would be modern, clean businesses, and in fact, these businesses are all located less than a mile from where I have been overnighting and sipping coffee. Yes, I am so glad that I waited until I arrived here in McAllen.
Afterwards, when all my chores are done, I drive back to the w-mart, walk inside and here I stay for the remainder of this warm day before leaving to drive to the d-mart for the night.
While inside the cafe, I listen to a video of a talk show host, one that I used to listen to on the radio years ago but somehow I lost track of him. His name is Glen Beck and his video was expounding on the dangerous state of affairs surrounding the creation of AI and its effects. He talks about the likelihood of this computer program growing to a point where it can no longer be controlled and may even turn against mankind. Yes, we are truly living in the last days!
(Day 700 TS) 50°F. 7:30 am, overcast, possible rain
Winter Sojourn, Day Thirteen
Moon: Waning Crescent, Earthshine Mornings
Sleeping in the Jammer
Overnighting in a Parking Lot
Awake, arise, dress in my clean fall blues, climb forward, start the jammer engine and drive to the what-mart for bacon-egg taquitos and coffee. I am still eating the tortilla wraps, but I know that soon, if I continue to eat from this ff-marts, I must stop eating the bread portion of the breakfast wrap and eat only the eggs and meat. Upon doing my research, I have found that the tortilla ingredients are no better than those in their hamburger buns. They both have way too many unhealthy and/or toxic ingredients. Therefore, in the future, if I return to this ff-mart, I will order two taquitos and only eat the bacon and eggs, leaving the tortilla as if it was part of the paper wrapper.
Too, I must bring my stainless steel cup inside with me to put my coffee in, because all of the modern paper cups are sprayed with plastic coating, typically polyethyleen (PE) but also other plastics, which cups are releasing tens of thousands of microplastic particles and other toxic chemicals into hot beverages and which pose serious health concerns. 7
After eating my f-meal, I return to the jammer, drive across Jackson Avenue, into the parking lot of the w-mart, park in my regular space, grab my two insulated cups and go inside. Once inside, I walk up to the counter, ask for a tall coffee in one cup and hot water in the second cup. Then, I return to the large round table, open my two tea bag packages and put the tea bags into the cup with hot water. Finally, I begin pounding keys and composing the start of my journal entry for this day.
Then, at eleven-thirty this morning, I connect to the Oak Harbor, Washington congregation using the Zoom app and greet the friends. Then the meeting begins and there is a guest speaker, but I did not hear where from. The Watchtower study was about maintaining joy while growing old. After the meeting, no body in the Zoom squares stuck around to visit, so I pack out of the w-mart, get into the jammer and drive west out of McAllen, Texas. Then, after an hour and a half, I arrive at Falcon State park ask for a three nights near to the shower house but there is nothing open. Then, I ask for two nights in the primitive area at campsite number 68. She says that that campsite is available and I take it. I then drive into the park, drive directly to the shower house and get into the hot water. Afterwards, I drive to my campsite and back into the space.
From this campsite, I have a good view of the lake as well as the dam tower. The sky is overcast and the temperature ia 58°F. I step outside, walk to the rear of the jammer and open the rear lift door so that I can hang my up my towel to dry. Next, I walk back to the driver′s door, get in and climb to the rear of the jammer, sit down at my office to work on my computer, and begin with updating my journal. Then, I continue working on my website where I was at before I left the w-mart and drove here.
Some time after the sun sets, I get into the horizontal, close my eyes and do not have to wait long for sleep to arrive.

December 21 is the solstice during most years, but not every years and can occasionally occur on any of the following days: 20th, 21st, 22nd or the 23rd. This is due to the fact that the orbit of the earth is not exactly 365 days long, which causes a slight shift in the date of the annual winter solstice each year. The solstice in the Northern Hemisphere occurs when the Celestial North Pole is tilted the farthest away from the sun. (See The Celestial Sphere)

Before this Journey On began, I purchase a new Yeti 14 ounce coffee cup. Later, when I compared its lid with my old Ozark Trail cup, the new lid fit the old cup perfectly. So, I checked in one of the Texas panhandle towns and found a Yeti dealer. When I called the store, the sales person told me that he had several different size replacement lids. Before leaving that town, I drove to the store an found the lid I had been wanting to replace for many years, and all it cost me was ten dollars.

Any one that is unknowing about the pagan worship connection to Christmas, New Years Day, and/or any other holiday in the current cultural calendar, should do a search online for the origins of each holiday.
