QUIRE ELEVEN CHAPTER FIFTEEN
The Quest for The Solace, Part Five

On Loving The Son of God Go Down Go Up
This Incessant Sojourn
This current neverending sojourn began many moons ago (Day 162 TS), 22 July 2024), one which has already become the longest sojourn I have experienced for many decades of years and one which stands to continue for yet many more moons, (Day 536 TS, 31 July 2025). Yes, I acknowledge that this is only a period of one year, however, I have come to believe that if there is No Journey, there will also be No Story. Nevertheless, I hope that by continuing to keep my daily journal, there may come to be something that will add to my Story.
This sojourn upon its completion will have lasted for more than a full year, more than twelve months, yes, with the number of day extending to 374. Even now, I neer cease in my devising a way to diminish that course of time in which I am required to remain here during this sojourn, but I have other needs that will keep me in fetters until the end of the lease term.
Therefore, when upon the termination of this so-prolonged sojourn, when the fetters which now restrain me have been made defunct, and when I have become footloose to resume my Journey On, this I avow: I will never so quickly and willingly revisit a place, any place, to tarry so again in such an incessant sojourn.
Yes, mine is the heart of a Wayƒarer, one which can only be replenished with joy upon my return to the Mountain and which heart continues to fear that my current abode, this concrete haunt, will never provide access to any further sufficiency for this heart that I have been given nor the journey that I have so dearly missed during the entirety of this oppressive yoke which impedes my freedom.

Words to Ponder
Those who do not move will never notice their chains. (Hebrews 11:36)

What has for a very long time been a future journal for me, this journal page has now come to pass to be the location whereupon I will be spending my time writing. In spite of how long it seemed to have taken to arrive here upon the chapter page of my journal, I have nonetheless arrived here.
Still, this day brings upon myself yet addition time spent in captivity to the sojourn.
However, to lesson the effects that this sojourn has upon me, I have devised a temporary respite from its captivity. Thus, on the morrow, I will leave off this Island whereupon my sojourn exists and begin my two day travel southward, so that I may drive out of the state of Washington, into the state of Oregon where at I will spend the next three weeks camping in one of the Oregon state parks.
After leaving from the w-mart, I travel to the l-mart to clean my clothes, after which I return to the room to do my final packing and organizing before leaving on my road trip tomorrow. However, all the standing in the laundry really wore me out and when I arrive back in the room at about four this afternoon, I do no more than just rest to regain my strength for the start of my road trip tomorrow.

Awake, hot shower, boil water, prepare my 3-cup meal, and sit down to enjoy my breakfast. Some time after eating, I pack out to the jammer, start the engine and drive north on SH 20, cross the bridge over Deception Pass and continue to Mount Vernon to begin my shopping for the first part of this road trip.
I stop first at Wall-mart and after walking through the grocery department looking for items on my shopping list, I purchase the items and then leave the store. The next location that I stop at is the Fred-mart where I repeat the same procedure. Then, at about noon, I leave Mount Vernon, Washington and drive south on IH-5 through Seattle and continue south to Vancouver, Washington.
After an nearly four hour drive, I arrive at IH-4 exit four where I get off the interstate highway and turn west onto NE 78th Street, where I immediately move across the street to the left lane. Then I move left into the left turn lane and have to wait for the oncoming traffic to clear, which, once that happens, I cross the street onto NE 5th Avenue. As I enter 5th Aveune, I see a Chipotle Mexican Grill and decide that I will stop there later for my e-meal. Just a short distance onto 5th Avenue, I turn right into the parking lot for the hf-mart (Natural Grocers) where I will do my initial shopping for much of the food stores that I have come to need.
Health Food
Arriving inside the hf-mart at just before four this afternoon, I obtain a shopping cart and begin my search through the well stocked isles for those items that I have on my To-buy note-book. What I am searching for are the ingredients for the new batch of my Meal Replacement Powder (MRP) which ingredients I have previously begun collecting and storing in my six one-liter containers.
However, my shopping is somewhat confusing because I have not compiled a complete list of items for purchase, so I will have to return again tomorrow to do more shopping. The shopping for today adds up to two hundred dollars. I park in the parking lot of the hf-mart and sleep comfortably without interruptions. Still, I am in a large city and the sounds out and about continue all evening. Some time after midnight I awake to don another blanket and notice that there is rain coming down outside.

Awake, dress in my fall blues, climb forward into the drivers seat and then start the jammer. From this parking lot on NE 78th Street, I drive north on NE Hazel Dell Avenue to 99th street, then turn right (east) and drive one block to a af-mart to purchase some fuel for the jammer. Next, I drive further east and take the entrance right onto IH 5, which I drive south back to exit 4, the Hazel Dell exit and turn left on 78th Street, drive one block to US Hwy 99 where I turn right and right again into the parking lot for the w-mart. Here, I park in front of the entrance to the cafe, gather my computer bag, and walk inside for coffee and key pounding. I also go through my list of items that I wish to purchase to include in the new batch of my MRP and write a list of items still needing for it.
I remain here until noon, when I pack out, drive north on NE Hazel Dell Avenue to just past 99th street and turn into the parking lot of a Grocery Outlet. Here, I find several of the powders that I will be adding to my MRP, but I am no where finished in my search for the ingredients for the new batch. Next, I return to the hf-mart and purchase several bottles of capsule supplements, which I will eventually take out of the capsules and include in the new batch of my MRP. After this last shopping expedition, I now have several grocery bags filled with many of the ingredients, which I will await my arrival at the Oregon state park before I begin to sort through the containers and transfer them into the awaiting six one-liter containers.
Next, I drive back to the cafe, walk inside, plug my computer and phone into the electric outlet and the resume pounding keys, which I remain here at the w-mart until seven this evening. When I pack out of the cafe, I drive back to the same location where I overnighted last night, because it was so quite all night.

Awake after another cold and rainy night, arise and dress in my winter blues. Then, when I try to start the jammer, the battery is completely dead, not even causing the starter to click. I look about the instrument cluster and then see that I had left the lights on during the night. So, I get out my emergency Jump Start battery, open the engine hood and connect the Jump Start to the battery. I wait for a couple of minutes and then climb back into the drivers seat and turn the key to start. The engine turns over, goes vroom and then begins to purr. I leave the engine running, steps outside and disconnect the Jump Start and return it to its pouch. Next, I close the hood, climb back into the jammer and drive to the w-mart. Rather than going directly inside, I sit in the jammer for about ten minutes while the alternator charges the battery. Finally, I walk inside, take a seat at the corner table and then walk up to the counter to purchase a cup of coffee.
When, I sit down at the table, I connect my Jump Start to the charger to ready it for the next time that I will need it. Even if this engine battery survives this event, methinks that I will more than likely have to purchase a new battery in the near future. After the Jump Start shows four blue lights, I then connect the charger to my phone so as to bring the battery up to full charge. Outside, the rain continues to fall.
Upon midday, I pack out of the w-mart, start the jammer (yes, the engine battery is working) and begin my drive to Viento State Park in Oregon, during which, I soon enter the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area: seeing the sign along IH 84. Due to the fact that this gorge has been receiving so much rain, I begin to see many waterfalls, to the right and upwards, one after the next, each flowing at full strength down from two to three hundred yards above the river. If I was to guess the number them, I would say that I saw ten of these waterfalls, maybe as many as a dozen or more. Then, when I pass by Multimomah Fall, the water dropping from the top of the upper fall is at least five times wider than it normally is when I have passed this way before.
Then, I arrive at the state park, it is just before three in the afternoon and I find a barricade across the entrance stating Closed For the Season. I thus realize that today is the first day that Viento State Park opens for camping.

Day One
Awake, dress in my summer blues and begin my journal entry. It rained heavy all night long and when I look outside, where I am parked in the campsite is a total lake. I continue inside for a time and a little later, the rangers drive by to check me in. I get out and ask if I could move to a location that is not so flooded and the Ranger tells me that space A-26 is available, but she will have to check with the office to make sure someone else has not registered there.
Then, about ten minutes later, she calls and tells me that I am good to go. However, when I had returned to the jammer, I began my morning meal preparations and so waited to move until after I had eaten. Then, once I had put away the kitchen, I unplugged from the electric, started the jammer, which did not require me to use the Jump Start and which I am so happy because I do not want to have to purchase a starter battery right now. I have been keeping my Jump Start charged up.
I then drive over to the next campsite, back in, and then get out to plug in and set every thing up. Next, because there is some standing water in this space, I get out my broom and sweep it away. Next, I get out my scrub brush, powdered cleanser and begin to scrub the picnic table because it is covered in a green scum. I spend almost one hour cleaning the seat board and two of the table top boards. Then, I put away my brushes, cleaners and then walk to the shower house to get into the hot water and don clean clothes.
Upon coming back to the jammer, I hang my towel up on the jammer steering wheel and turn my heater up to high so as to dry the towel. I then climb back inside the jammer and begin to organize, sort and find a place for all the new groceries recently purchased. Methinks, this job alone will keep me occupied for several if not many more days.

Day Two
Awake very late, this constant rain for nearly all this week must have wearied me. I dress in my fall blues, step out of the jammer and follow the cobblestone path around the large trees to the shower house where I take a hot shower and don fresh clothes. Then, I walk back to the jammer, climb inside and use my phone to connect to the Oak Harbor weekend meeting, now just beginning. After the meeting ends, several of the friends that are connected using the zoom app stay on line to talk for a short time. A couple ask me where I am located to which I tell them camping in one of the Oregon state parks. Finally, we all say our good byes and disconnect from the connection.
I then return to my organizing and sorting of the inside of the jammer but then end up pounding keys and getting caught up on my journal writing. After a very wet day, with my electric heater plugged in running on high constantly, I retire to the horizontal for the night.

Day Three
Awake, still raining, get into the sitting position, turn on my computer and begin pounding keys to write my journal entry. After a few key poundings, I decide that I need a hot shower, so, I gather my towel, shower ditty bag, don my sandals, step out of the jammer and walk the two hundred feet to the male side of the shower house. Once I am fully immersed in the hot water, feeling its warmth pound upon my back, methinks, because I skipped a hot shower yesterday and just slept late I am so very glad that I chose to get into the hot shower this morning. Returning to the jammer, I get out my three cups and begin adding to them the ingredients for my Daystart. I then set up my electric water kettle and fill it win one liter of water. I have learned that to fill from a new full gallon water bottle, it is best to go outside to pour from the water bottle because all too often, I have missed the kettle with the first ounce or so. I then turn the kettle on and in no time, I am sipping on hot mushroom coffee and eating my f-meal.
During my breakfast, I return to my computer and check my communications and find that the package containing my stove that was suppose to arrive this afternoon has been rescheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, 25 March 2025. So, I write an email informing about this change and send it to Angela and Andrew whose address it will be arriving at. Then, I continue to sip on my coffee, eat my Daystart and plan for another day of pounding keys. A few minutes later, I get another email informing me that the package was delivered today. Someone at the Cascade Designs company has messed up, and wanting to let my friends back in Oak Harbor know about this mess up, I call Andrew on his cell phone but I am kicked over into voice mail. Almost immediately after that happens, I get a call on my phone and when I answer, it is Andrew returning my call. I tell him about the mess up and he says that he will check to see if it arrived today as soon as he and Angela get back home. I thank him and ask for him to call me to let me know if it did arrive today or not. We say our good-byes and I go back to work on my key pounding. About twenty minutes pass and he calls to tell me, Yep, it is on the porch. I thank him again and ask that he hold it for me until I return for the Memorial of Jesus′ Death on the 12th of April, to which he said that he would.
Next, I begin sorting and organizing the shopping bags in my van, getting them ready for me to start my work on dividing the newly purchased supplements and super-food powders into the six containers of my Meal Replacement Powder (MRP). I hope to begin doing this tomorrow because it is supposed to be clear and sunny all day, which will allow me to sit at the picnic table in order to work on my MRP.

Day Four
Awake, dress in my summer blues, grab my shower bag, towel, my key ring, step out of the jammer, walk the two hundred feet to the mens shower room and get right into the hot water. During my many times coming to this campground, methinks, that the staff here have installed a reset timer on the water heater, because every time I shower for five minutes or more, the water coming out of the hot water spigot turns to cold water.
I have learned two things: 1. rinse the soap from my hair before the hot water resets; and 2. if, when the hot water turn cold am I just am not done with the hot water, step out of the shower, turn the hot water spigot off and then back on. This allows the water heater to reset and provide additional hot water, up to another five minutes. After my hot shower, I walk back to the jammer, open up the rear lift door and begin getting out the items to prepare my f-meal. Behind me, closer to the river, a train rumbles along the Oregon side railroad track. At first, I would hear these trains at all times of the day and night, however, after being here now for several days, the loud noise that emanate from these
Then, in the afternoon, my sister Susan sends me a text and asks how I am doing. I respond to here but soon determine that texting is not the method that we need to use, so I use my phone and dial her number. It turns out that she has contacted me because of what has transpired in her life. So, Susan tells me how now her and her daughter Lauren (who has named herself Francis) are no longer speaking, in fact, they have both blocked each other. This has always been an emotional subject for Susan and I continue to listen to Susan as she relates to me the details. After more than one and a half hours, Susan seams to over most of the story and we say our good byes.
By the early afternoon, as the bright sun climbs high in the sky to the south, the ambient temperature rises into the high 60s, causing a multitude of insect to take flight. I decide rather than open up the jammer to absorb the warmth, I will close it up tight to prevent any of the little buggers from joining me inside the jammer. I choose to lie down for a nap. Later still, after the sun drops below the southern ridge of the gorge to the west, the temperature begins dropping rapidly and only then have the flies, gnats, midges and other small flying bugs retreated to their nest for the night. Therefore, I open up the jammer, get out my cookpot and begin cooking my evening meal. Tonight, I am having cooked brown rice and lentils, into which I add some chopped onions and ginger that have been sautéed in olive oil, and once the dish is nearly finished cooking, I add to it some dulse flakes and some of my Spice Mix.
Once I have finished cooking, I put the cooking gear away, climb into the jammer and then sit at my board to pound keys while I eat. After the sun sets, I then turn off my computer, get into the horizontal and watch a few videos until I am sleepy eyed.

Day Five
Awake, dress in my summer blues, walk to the shower house and then return to the jammer to begin pounding keys. I watch as the sun first begins to peak out over the top of the gorge in the east and climb steadily upward with a little movement slowly southward with each minute. I think that last night was the first night during which it has not rained. Although the temperature this morning was in the fifties, it is likely that this day will be the last time that it will be this warm upon awakening for the rest of my stay here this month. Instead, this temporarily weather front which brought the warm air is ending today with some precarious events including wind, hail and possible tornadoes. Likely, I will see some of the wind but do not expect to see and of the later.
It is not until ten this morning that I finally sit down to the board with my f-meal and to sip on a cup of hot. Methinks, a cup of hot has so changed for me over the years, and even now, it is beginning to change once again, with today′s cup including not only instant coffee but also powder of a blend of mushroom and some Peruvian cacao. This type of cacau is packaged in small disks which still retain some of the cocoa butter because when I sip a hot drink with this cacao, I see little bubbles of oil floating on top. Yes, I also include a cup of hot tea, which, more than likely will long outlast the cup of hot coffee. Whilst I sip hot liquid, I next check my communications: emails, text and facebook. After that, I resume my work on the website pages.
By two-thirty this afternoon, the temperature rises to the high 60s and soon after into the low 70s. Meanwhile, outside, the buggers have begun to take flight and I am inside the jammer with all thThene window shades up, so, therefore, it must be time for a nap. Arising from the nap at five pm, I return to pounding keys and working on my web site pages. Then, at six thirty, it begins a light rain, and five minutes later I hear thunder from somewhere above, but so far, no hail stones. However, I keep watching for the hail but it does not seem to come.
After the sun sets at around seven-thirty, I finish up my journal entry for today and soon after, I get into the horizontal. However, because I can not get to sleep, I arise and begin emptying the content of capsules into a container in order to have all of the vitamins, minerals and other supplements in bulk form so that I can add them to my Meal Replacement Power. I was able to finish six of the bottles of capsules before sleep began to fill my eyes and body. I now have only three remaining to work on.

Day Seven
Another day of sleeping in here in the rain forest within the Columbia River Gorge. When I finally arise, I dress in my summer blues, grab my shower gear, then step out of the jammer and walk to the shower house for some hot water. After a long and enjoyable immersion, I step out of the stall, dry off with my bandana, ring the water out of the bandana and then don my summer blues.
Next, when I have gathered up all of my shower gear, I walk back into the shower stall to look if I have forgotten anything. This has been a regular practice from ever since I left my leather hat sitting on a log at a place where I had once, when walking the entire length of the Appalachian Trail (AT), stopped briefly for my mid-day meal. Upon leaving that respite, I had neglected to look back to see if there was anything that I had left behind. It was not until I had walked for four or more miles did I realize that I no longer had possession of my leather hat, the one that I had only recently purchased at the Sundance leather goods store in Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania. I had only now recognized that it was not atop my head and must have left it on the log where I was sitting for my m-meal.
Then, the very thought of myself having to walk back to to that log where I sat and took my hat off just to retrieve it, and then re-walk the same miles I would have already previously walked twice by then, presented me with a difficult conundrum, so much so, that I must needs stop, sit down on another log and reevaluate the importance of that hat; yes, take a look at if that hat was worth adding another eight miles of walking to this days already hard trudge because when I find myself sitting on this same log where I now sit, but then wearing my hat, I will still have another five miles to walk until I stop for the evening.
Those were the days, when the only thing to bother me was weather to walk back and get me hat. Now, just to walk one hundred feet to the shower house is more than a hard trudge. Stil, life is so worth living, no matter how hard one must needs trudge along. This day quickly comes to its end and I am only now finishing up my journal entry. Then, it is time to get into the horizontal and pull up the covers for the night. Good Night All.

Day Eight
Awake, dress in my summer blues, but because it is colder this morning, I don my hoodie. Then, I grab my shower gear and walk to the shower house for some hot water. After my brief visit under the shower head, I return to the jammer to begin boiling water for my f-meal. After I fill the kettle and set it on the counter, I then step outside, carry my two cups to the rear of the jammer and put some Daystart in one and my new coffee blend in the other. After I close the rear lift door, I walk back around to the side slide door, climb back inside and then resume my journal writing whilst I pound keys, which continues until long after noon.
Since everything has dried up outside, I decide to step out of the jammer and prepare a hot meal using my Repast recipe. Then, at about three-thirty, I move the cookpot into the jammer, after which I got back to the picnic table to retrieve my electric burner and the young woman in the campsite next to mine greets me. She also makes a couple of comments to which when I reply causes her to ask questions. One question leads to another, then another and soon I have pulled up my web site to show her where I have categorized the answers into subject. She asks me for the URL of my website and then she enters it into her phone in order to find my website. After that, she tells me that she will look it up and read some of what I have been doing.
Finally, I beg my leave to return to the jammer to have my repast, during which I return to my journal entry for this day to complete it. I add to the Repast, some yellow mustard and Cholula hot sauce. After eating, I plan to get out my Bible and read more in the book of Proverbs, this time in the eighth chapter. After my time reading, I get into the horizontal and watch a few videos before I close my eyes.

Day Ten
Awake and rise slowly, methinks due to the fact that it rained most all night. Too, it is still raining lightly when I step outside the jammer, grab my shower gear and walk to the shower house. For several days now, I have revived an old practice, which, like the practice mentioned above on Day 411 TS: That of stopping, looking back at where I was to insure that I left nothing behind, the revived old practice that I am referring to is one which I began while walking on the AT. What is this renewed practice?
When upon the AT, this practice came about after I would take a bath in the wild, afterwhich, like I had done most all my previous life, I got out my towel to dry off. 1 However, doing so would present a conundrum in that now I would have a wet towel and I dare not replace it in its place within my park because when I would need it again, it would likely be covered with and smell like mildew. No, nor was there any nearby laundry at which I can put it in the dryer in order for me to have it dried. Granted, there were those warm sunny days during which I could drap the towel over the outside of my pack and let it dry slowly, however, in the eastern areas of the continent, where the Appalachian Trail traverses, warm sunny days are not the norm, instead, overcast, rainy and other forms of wet were the actual normal occurrence. So, methought, "What can I do?"
This question persisted in my mind for some time, when, one day while on a short day hike when the opportunity to bath presented itself, however, not having access to my pack and gear made me think in a different manner. Methought, what do I have now upon my person, that I can use to dry off. Immediately, my attention turned to my navy blue 100 percent cotton bandana which I always kept rolled up, positioned around my neck and tied in an overhand knot. Methought, I got nothing to lose, so, I will try it. I got under the waterfall, cleaned my body and then used my bandana to dry off. Long before I was dry, the bandana was saturated, but I knew how to remedy that, I folded it over long-ways three times, once length-wise and then wrung out the water. Next, I grabbed two of the corners and shook it in the air one, twice and voila, a dry bandana. I then finished drying off my body, wring out the bandana again, place it back on my neck and soon, I was back walking on the trail, now smelling sweat and fresh as a waterfall. I told you that story to tell you this one.
Now, even though I do carry a towel, even several, I seldom use one to dry off. Instead, I keep and carry a navy blue 100 percent cotton bandana for that purpose, have been ever since that shower in Laurel Fork Gorge at Laurel Fork Waterfall on Day 37, Episode One, The Wayƒarers Journal (page 86).
With this day progressing quite rapidly, my time here this month for camping at campsite A26 fast expiring, I ready myself for my drive west into the city to do some shopping on this day, which will most likely culminate in a parking lot near a w-mart for tonight. So, I make my final adjustment my my gear, climb into the drivers seat, start the jammer engine (yes, again it starts right away (after sitting for ten day) and I let it idle for several minutes as I go about my final preparations for departure, including uploading my current files to my website.

Overnighting in a Parking Lot
Awake, rise to a cold morning, reach into the forward area and turn on the jammer engine. Then, I slowly get dressed while the inside of the jammer warms. Once I have donned my winter blues, I climb forward into the drivers seat, start the jammer engine and let it idle for several minutes. Then, I drive through the parking lot to the space in front of the w-mart, turn off the jammer, grab my computer bag and walk inside for a cup of hot and a breakfast wrap. I remain here most of the morning working on the large number of photos that I have taken during this spring camping expedition here in Oregon along the Columbia River Gorge. Due to the massive amounts of rain in this season, I have been able to see and photograph more waterfalls that I have ever seen here in the gorge before, in fact, as soon as I finish in the cafe here, drinking my coffee, I will be driving east back into the gorge in order to take more waterfall photos. Afterwhich I will travel to Viento state park for another ten day stay of camping, during which I will be cropping and uploading photos and other things Wayƒarers do.
I did arrive back in the state park at about three this afternoon, pull into the campground, drive around the loop and then back into my campsite. Once I was happy where the jammer was parked, I then got out the long extension cord, and then plug it into the campsite electrical receptacle. Inside the jammer, I keep the receptacle plug side of this cord connected to my power strip and when the cord had power, I immediately see that my inside overhead light strip comes on, indicating that there is power inside the jammer. Next, I walk around to the drivers door, open it and sit on the seat, which from here I can reach my 1500 Watt ceramic heater that is laying down on the floor between the two front seats. I keep it laying down because it has a tip-over switch on the bottom which prevents it from activating the heat and fan. At this time, I pick it up and set it down, standing upright, in exactly the right location so that it can begin heating up the jammer inside without overheating anything which could possibly start a fire. A train just passes by blowing it loud horn, but Like I have said before, I have lived long enough hearing all kinds of noise throughout my life to no longer let any of them bother me. I also take out the medium length extension cord, pug it into the campsite receptacle and drape it across the picnic table for using my electric hot-plate for cooking meals during the next several days. I hang the receptacle end of the cord over the side of the table so that the electric openings are pointing down and will not get wet.
Now, with everything set up, I walk around to the passenger side, open the sliding side door, get out my eating pot, a fresh onion and several stalks of celery, take them to the rear lift door, where I get out my cutting board and knife. Once I have set every thing on the picnic table, I proceed to chop up the celery and the onion and then put all the chopped vegetables into my eating pot. Next, I put away my knife and cutting board, close the rear lift door, walk back around to the side of the jammer and climb in through the sliding door. Once fully inside, I close the sliding door and notice that the heat inside the jammer is getting quite nice.
Then I get out the five ounce container of mixed spring vegetables, open the lid and dump all of the chopped vegetables into the container, mix it a little and then using my fork and spoon, serve out an ample portion into my eating pot, them I then spread some olive oil and finally some balsamic vinegar onto the mixed salad, after which I grab my shaker bottle of the The Wayƒarers Spice Mix. Next, I set up my computer on the my inside table and begin pounding keys while between the key strokes, I enjoy my evening meal, a fresh salad with a vinaigrette dressing. I continue pounding keys until the light begins to dim, first from the campsite, then from forest, leaving only a dark blue-gray sky left with any hint of the proceeding day. Later, after eating all of my salad, for a sweet ending to my e-meal, I choose some sprouted grains bread over spread with crunchy almond butter to enjoy whilst the day wraps up and the sky changes from the dark-gray to a deep navy blue and finally this day is totally gone.
The time it now about half an hour past eight pm and the only sound that I hear is the fan blowing inside the heater which had raised the temperature inside the jammer to a comfortable 79 degrees Fahrenheit, while outside, the temperature just dropped below fifty degrees. According to the weather report on my phone, the temperature will drop down to 40, possibly 39 degrees. It has been a very long day, since getting up a little before seven this morning, and going through my many duties in the city after which I drove the Scenic Columbia River Gorge Highway (Historic US 30) from Troutdale through to The Wahkeena Falls and trailhead. However, the road further west was under repair and closed for through traffic. So, from that road closure, I must need backtrack to a IH 84 highway access in order to continue my west bound travel to Viento state park on the interstate.
Arriving at the campground at three this afternoon, I back into space A-26, plug into the electrical box and then climb inside to set up my computer on the desktop and begin organizing and cropping the numerous new photos from the most recent drive into town for resupplying.

Awake, rise, grab my shower gear, walk to the shower house for the hot water, then return to the jammer to begin the next ten day passage camping here at Viento State Park. For the most part, I continue with the work on my writing, stopping for my meals, which consist of two cooked and a third which is mostly just snacks of dried fruit and nuts.
Too, since the date has proceeded into April, there seems to be a little less rain, more sunlight but still the humidity is very high.

Day Two
Awake, rise, hot shower, boil water, Daystart and Cup of Hot, then hours of pounding keys until stopping for my Repast.
Whilst I was cutting vegetables to put into my Repast, I cut my left little finger. I immediately stopped what I was doing and wrapped the finger with a clean paper towel. Then I got out my first aid ditty bag, opened it, took out the bandages that I would need and began to apply first aid. As a youth, I was part of the Boy Scouts, and several of the accomplishments and badges involve learning how to administer first air, which was easy for me to learn. Ever since, I have always maintained a good supply of the necessary bandages, tape and ointments. Too, I learned that the first step in any application of first aid to the victim is to thoroughly clean the wound. Water can be used but alcohol is actually more sterile because it kills germs. In my jammer, I maintain a supply of 95 percent alcohol. Several years ago, I used isopropyl alcohol because I could get it in a 98 percent concentration, but I also know that ingestion could cause coma, blindness and death. So, I did some more research, only to find out that prolonged skin exposure can cause some of the same effects.
That was about ten years ago, which is when I switched over from isopropyl alcohol to vodka and at that time I used the brand with the highest percentage, which in most states was 40 precent. I then continued with drinkable alcohol as my sterile liquid for not only first aid but also hand cleaning. So, whenever I needed to clean my hands, such as before I would eat, I would squirt some vodka into my hands, rub together and then dry them off with a clean towel. This worked for me until 2019 when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, because at that time, it was announced that we should clean our hand regularly with hot water and soap and if that was not available, then we could use alcohol. However, that broadcast said that the percentage of alcohol need be 65 percent or higher. Therefore, I drove to the local vodka whole seller and asked for 65 percent vodka and he said that they did not have any with that high of a percent alcohol. After a another time researching about the percentages of liquors, I learned that now, most all states allowed the higher percentage liquors but not all liquor stores carry those with more than forty percent. After a little searching, I found that a type of liquor that had a much higher percentage was grain alcohol which in some brands could be as much as ninety-five percent (95%) alcohol. Too, there are several brands, but the one which most liquor stores do carry is Everclear 190 Proof and it is this brand that I have been purchasing after COVID-19 came into existence on December 2019. Yes, I purchase a bottle of grain alcohol which I could use for drinking, but no, I do not drink alcohol, no alcohol, not liquor, nor beer, not even wine. In fact, I have not drank any alcohol since October 2013, more than twelve years ago. I only use this liquor for hand cleaning and some cleaning.
Furthermore, it was only recently, a short time before I left Oak Harbor on this camping road trip, when I had purchased a 1.75 liter bottle of the grain alcohol Everclear and the bottle has been in one of my storage bins ever since I had bought it. However, today after using a lot of my current supply of grain alcohol to clean up my injury, I decided that now would be a good time to get out the new bottle and refill my supply bottles.
Finally, I use my cookpot to prepare my Repast, and then eat while I so some more key pounding and lastly, I get into the horizontal to read and then turn over and go to sleep.

Day Three
Awake to a cold morning but it does not take long before the temperature rises above 50 degrees and turning into a wonderfully comfortable morning. This campground still remains nearly empty. I step out of the jammer, grab my shower gear and walk to the shower house for some hot water. Soon, I am back in the jammer and the first thing I do is to redress the first aid dressing on the little finger on my left hand. Since I have just got into the hot water, the bandage on my left little finger is saturated which will make this a good time to remove the old bandage and apply a new one. After taking off the old dressing, I use alcohol to clean the wound thoroughly, then onto the cut, I squeeze triple antibiotic ointment from the tube I keep in my first-aid bag. Next, I wrap the end of my little finger with a new bandage and finally, I put all the supplies back into the first aid bag and stow the bag to its place in the forward wooden bin.
Next, with the water kettle plugged in to boil water, I step outside of the jammer, walk around to the rear, open the lift door and begin to prepare my three-cup meal. First, in to my sierra-cup, I insert all of the ingredients for my Daystart. Next, in to the insulated cup, I spoon in two heaping teaspoons of my mushroom coffee mixture and the add ten of the cacao disks. Finally, I get out two fresh tea bags and hang them in my tall insulated cup. I then close the rear lift door and carry my three-cup meal back to the sliding side door and climb inside. As I set the three cups down, in their places, I see that the water in the kettle is boiling and now ready to pour into the cups. I then sit down at my desk to eat my f-meal whilst I resume my key pounding. Then, I stop pounding the keys to look up to where my phone is mounted and see that the temperature has already risen to fifty-two degrees and it is not yet eleven this morning.

With the sun shinning in through the windows, I Awake, grab my shower bag, towel, bandana and then walk to the shower house for some hot water on my body. Afterwards, I return to the jammer, put away my shower gear and then climb inside to boil water. Even though this sunshine days are few and far between, I enjoy every one of them, thanking Jehovah each time, looking forward to the next one.
While the water in the kettle is heating up, I step back outside, open up the rear lift door and portion out the ingredients for my morning Daystart into my sierra cup. Too, I put a heaping teaspoon of my mushroom coffee in my insulated cup and then add ten of the cocoa disks. Finally, I grab two tea bags and place than in the second insulated cup. Climbing back into through the sliding side door, I see that the water in the kettle is ready, so I pour the boiling water into the three cups and then begin to enjoy my morning meal while I continue to work on my writing.
Here at Viento state park, the number of campers occupying sites was higher this morning than any time since I have been camping during this trip. However, many were only here for last night and now, as the sun drops into the western sky, the number of campers is quite low. I hear a train on the northern side of the Columbia River traveling along the Washington side.
This day lingers on for hours whilst I write upon the screen of my laptop. Oddly, methinks, this is no where even close to the quill and quire used by those of my consanguinity in days past. In fact, I recall the days where upon, I, yes, even I, dipped my quill into the recess of the ink well and then endeavored to express the profundities of my thoughts and feelings upon those pages, bound together within my quire, especially during those days of my youth, when I undertook the traversing of a long path upon the high places, taking steps within the mountainous regions in the eastern part of this continent. It was by thus transposing those of my feelings and thoughts upon my quires, that I succeeded in capturing the image of my life journey then and there, how totally different my core desires of my heart was becoming and how I came to wonder with platitude what lies ahead for myself in this person I was fast coming to be. Thereupon, oftentimes were my prayers and supplications to the God whom I was reading about in the Bible daily, so that he may provide myself with some kind of affirmations in order to allay my incertitudes about my current life journey. Even then, through constant prayer, through reading in my Bible, and through meditation on what I found upon its pages, all of my doubts and misgivings gave way to certainty and hope.
Too, as I pound upon the keys on my computer, I meditate of how amazingly different from today′s existence, in the near future, how different our lives in the promised paradise will be. I begin to contemplate what my life will really be like then. I can only imagine from all the many previous paintings printed in the pages of the numerous publications depicting the People of God at that time coming together in large gatherings around a table of the bounty from the land to enjoy our brotherhood with joy, love, tranquility and thanksgiving. Yes, this is one of the most common portrayal that has been illustrated of life in the paradise, but methinks there must be much more to what awaits this foretold paradise of joy. Also, I recall other paintings depicting a variety of task that some are partaking in, those of building houses, raising gardens, enjoying the variety of animals, welcoming back those lost in death, and pursuing personal pursuits. Most likely, the one thing that I look forward more than anything else of all the promises from God is to be able to live without the constant pain that currently assails my entire body.
I have held throughout my entire existence the desire, no, it is more than just a want, this which is my hearts desire, is a must needs that I walk upon one path, then another, and yet still many, many more. It is my hearts desire (Psalm 20:4) the quest that I hold dearest, and that which is deep seated within my kidneys, the innermost aspects of who and what I am in my mind, body, heart and soul.
And yet, there is One that reaches heights far above my aspirations and desires, much higher than my simplistic quests and goals, yes, even my heavenly Father, the Most High God and Creator of all things, to whom I am merely a lowly servant. May Your Will be done forever and forever. (Psalm 37:4)

After I boil the water and pour it into my three cups, I sit down at the board and partake of my f-meal. Soon, into this meal, I connect to the Oak Harbor congregation to listen to a talk by Brother Wavaday, discussing the subject, Can Truth Be Found? He really provided a superb talk, using scriptures from the Bible to help all see, that Truth can be and is found in God′s Word the Bible. After the meeting, everyone appeared to take their leave quickly, and I did likewise.
In the afternoon, as the campground begins to see all the weekend warriors drive away and head for places elsewhere, it starts to rain lightly and then solitude returns to join with simplicity and solace once again here in the moss and algae laden forest in the Columbia River Gorge. In the afternoon, I begin to work on my recent photos taken while here in the Gorge. Later, I give some attention to the sub-headers that I use with each journal entry, which I realize that this will require renaming the html class code, and by doing so, there is a three to four day wait for the web server to update the code.
It was when I looked up into the forest above me and saw that the light of day remaining above the treetops had dimmed to a dark blue did I realize that another day in the gorge has come to an end. I turn off the computer, get into the horizontal, pull up the covers and close my eyes.

Then I get out my electric water kettle to boil water and make my three cup meal. Once the meal is ready, I then begin pounding keys while eating my f-meal. It continues to rain off and on all day, mostly on but the rain seems just to dry from the tree tops causing a constant patter upon the top of the jammer.
At about two this afternoon, the constant rain abates for a time, so, I step outside and begin boiling a pot of water to make my Repast, which includes; rice, lentils, fresh garlic, fresh ginger, fresh onion and celery. I also add some of my spice mix and some dried seaweed. I make a large amount so that when I have eaten tonight, I will still have have of the cookpot of the Repast left for tomorrow.
Then, when the Repast is ready, I carry my cookpot inside and leave the electric one-burner grill on the picnic table to allow it to cool down. So, I climb inside and begin to eat my meal and forget to retrieve the grill, leaving it out in the rain. However, I do not believe it is damaged, it was not plugged in, and there is little if any electronics, so I just shook it dry as best as I could and then set in on the floor of the jammer in front of my ceramic heater and let the fan keep blowing hot air on it for the rest of the day.
The rain continues to patter on the top of the jammer for the rest of the day, and it looks like much more of the same for all day tomorrow. However, Wednesday is forecasted to be much dryer. This constant rain drains my energy and keeps me wanting to get into the horizontal for several naps during the day.

Next, I carry the cups back to the side sliding door, climb back in and since the water has reached the boiling temperature and shut itself off, I then begin to pour water into my three cups, after which, I begin eating my morning meal while I pound on the keyboard to start my journal entry for this day.
Then, a short time after noon, I get my leftover Repast out of the refrigerator, actually, I just set the cookpot, which still contained the leftovers, on the floor in the back of the jammer and it stays quite cool and since I normally never put any meat in my repast, it will not spoil. If I do decide to have meat with my meal, it is usually a can of salmon, sardines or tuna, and I always just eat it out of the can. I continue to pound keys all day and into the evening. The rain continues all day as well but only a light rain and then by six or seven this evening, even the trees stop dripping. Still, the humidity seems to be quite high and I must needs keep my ceramic heater going to keep me feeling warm.

Day Eight
Awake, grab my shower bag and walk to the shower house for some hot water, after which I return to the jammer and boil water for my three-cup meal, when it is done, I then sit at the board and pound keys while I eat my f-meal. Today is another rare day, that of being full of sunshine and no rain, which I have to say is a welcome change from the normal spring rain which this season is superabundant with. So, I take a few photos of the campsite during the sunny day.
In the early afternoon, I open up the jammer so that the inside may dry out a little. Then, I get out a small bucket, add some liquid soap and then use a rag to wipe off a lot of the dirt and grime that in on the outside of the jammer. I then put away my cleaning gear and get out my one burner hot plate to make my Repast. After adding a package of bone broth into the cookpot, I set the pot on the hot plate and turn up the heat. When the broth is hot, I add in one and a half cups of rice and a half cup of lentils. While awaiting for the broth and grains to boil, I chop up some of all the vegetables that I have left, placing the chopped vegetables into the inverted lid of my cookpot. When all the chopped vegetables are in the inverted cookpot lid, which now is on top of the cookpot, I put one quarter cup of seaweed and one quarter cup of spice mix over the chopped vegetables. Finally, I place the cutting board over the inverted cookpot lid, just in case any flies are out on the wonderfully warm day.
Once the cookpot begins to boil, I turn down the heat to allow the grains in the broth to simmer and let it do so for several more minutes. Once the rice grains are getting soft, I next empty the cookpot lid into the cookpot, stir thoroughly and then return the lid upright onto the cookpot. While I await for my Repast to cook, I check my phone for any messages and/or emails and answer those I receive. Next, when the meal is done, I carry the cookpot into the jammer through the side sliding door, set it down of the floor behind the drivers seat and that is where it will stay until all the Repast is eaten. Then, I clean up my kitchen work space, putting away all of my gear and finally, I climb in through the side sliding door, take off my shoes and close the door. I do not eat right away, but must need to await for the food to cool down somewhat, so I turn on my computer and begin to compose the words of today′s journal entry.

Awake to another sunny day, wow, two in a row and it has finally gotten warm enough to leave windows open to help dry out the inside of the jammer. Such a beautiful day this is, I begin my morning with a walk to the shower house for my regular routine, after which, I return to the jammer to prepare my morning Daystart. I then eat my f-meal while writing daily entries in my journal and then continue with updating the Viento Campground page with additional photos of the recent sunny days.
I am anticipating, that when the morrow arrives, I will pack out immediately after my hot shower, so that I can get a good start on the drive home. Too, before arriving back in Washington, I wish to stop once more at the health food mart in Wood Village to purchase a few items which I have depleted here during this camping road trip. So, this afternoon, I begin going through my foot stores and compiling a shopping list for tomorrow. A train just stormed loudly up the river valley.
Later in the early evening, I get out my leftover Repast and enjoy it with ample mustard and Cholula hot sauce. While I eat, I continue to work on my web page upgrade, which I do until long after the sun light has left the ground, long after the sunlight has left the trees and even long after the sunlight has left the sky.
When I have become sufficiently weary, I turn off my computer, stow the computer and the cords in the computer bag and place the computer bag on the front passenger seat. Finally, I ready my sleeping berth, turn off the overhead light and get under the covers for the night.

Day Ten
Awake nearly an hour before the alarm is set to ring, rise from my sleep even though it takes several moments, sit up and begin to rearrange my gear. I start by moving all of my things that have been occupying the drivers seat as well as the floorboard under the drivers seat, transferring them to a location atop the sleeping berth. I have yet to step out of the jammer, but now I grab my keyring lanyard, bandana and my shower ditty bag, don my hoodie and then open the side sliding door to step outside. Then, I lock and close the sliding door, after which I walk the foot path to the bath house for my final hot shower here at the Viento state park.
After a very soothing soak in the hot water, I return to the jammer, stow my shower ditty bag in its place and hang my bandana on the transmission shift knob. Then, I take the bag of trash off of the jammer roof, and put it on the floor in front of the desk. Next, I walk around to the drivers door, unlock it and finish moving items from the floor to the top of the sleeping berth. Finally, I grab a couple of clean napkins and then walk to the electrical post and unplug my extension cord, dragging it forward to the front of the jammer. Then, I begin to roll the cord up, wiping it with the napkins as I twist it into the roll. When the cord is completely wound up, I stow it in the area in front of my sleeping berth where I also place my sliding door step stool and close the sliding door.
Next, I walk to the drivers door, sit down and start the jammer. After a few minutes idling, I put the transmission into drive, drive forward about ten to fifteen feet, stop the jammer and put the transmission into park. Once this has been done, I get out of the jammer to walk around the campsite to see if anything has fallen out of the jammer during my camping stay and rolled under the vehicle. With the ground clear of any objects, I return to the drivers seat, close the drivers door and drive slowly around the loop to where the trash bin is located, stop the jammer, put the trans into park again and get out to dispose of my accumulated garbage. Once unladen from the trash, I drive out of the state park, onto IH 84, and travel west on the highway until reaching exit 16 and then turn south onto NE 238th Drive and follow the direction from Google Maps to the w-mart. I then park, get out of the jammer and go inside for coffee and breakfast.
About eleven this morning, a car group of Jehovah&prime:s Witnesses stop for a break and sit outside on the patio tables. When two of the sisters come inside, I walk up to one and ask my regular question, Do you know any of the Great Crowd? to which the sister said, Yes, I am one. I also met Julie Welch who says that is now married with the last name Graves and asked me if I know John and Julene Martone. I told her that I do, we are good friends and that we are in the same congregation. She replied, Please tell them hello for me and then the group packed out and left in their vehicles. I immediately walked inside and called John on my phone to tell him the story. He also called Julene to come listen to what I had to say and Julene commented, That was a Blast from the Past. John then asked me if I was going to the memorial in Oak Harbor, to which I told him, Yes, God willing. He told me to drive safe and then we said out good byes.
At about noon, I pack out of the w-mart, walk to the jammer and continue the long drive back to my home in Oak Harbor, Washington. However, due to the fact that I will be driver north on IH 5, beginning at this time will take me directly into the evening rush-hour traffic. So, in order to avoid that annoying driving period, I drive first west on IH 84 to IH 205, take the north bound entrance, cross the Columbia River, and when in Washington, take the first exit onto SH 14 and drive west to IH 5, take the north bound entrance and drive north to exit 4, which I get off IH 5 and turn west onto NE 78th street, drive to the first light and turn left into the parking lot for the Natural Grocers where I park, walk inside and do some shopping so that I will not have to make this long drive to purchase more of these food that I regularly eat again before my lease is up.
Next, to use up more time prior to leaving on my drive north, I stop in the same shopping center at the Chipotle Mexican Grill for a salad and enjoy it seated inside the cafe. Then, I drive back east on NE 78th street, just past the interstate highway, turn right onto Old US highway 99 and then stop at a hair salon for a hair cut, after which, I climb back into the jammer, put up the window shades and lie down for a nap.
At five-forty this afternoon, I rise from the nap, start the jammer, drive back to the interstate highway, take the north bound entrance and the drive north on IH 5 for 227 miles to the SH 20 exit in Burlington, Washington, a distance which requires me to drive for a little more than three and a half hours. When I take exit 230 from the interstate highway, I have just under thirty miles to drive before I arrive in my parking space at the Oak Harbor Inn motel. It is shortly after nine o′clock when I arrive at my room and I am sufficiently tired that I do not carry much inside but instead, walk in, drop my keys on the top of the dresser, get undressed and get into the bed to sleep for the night.
I had thought that I was going to have to make this drive in parts of two days, but, I pushed my abilities and made the drive in one day, arriving on Friday, the 11th of April. Also, I have to say that the jammer is still doing quite well and remains dependable. Too, this reminds me that I must needs do an oil change soon.

I go back to my key pounding and then methinks, odd as it may seem, I have begun to miss those passing trains when I was camping in Oregon.
In the afternoon, I continue to bring more of my things into the room, organize them and sort through the items in order to include the many food powder purchases made into their appropriate places. I do this so that I can continue to put together the newest batch of my MRP mix.

Then, when the meeting ends and the host checks the switch to allow participants to un-muting themselves, the gallery begin talking to one another. I remain for only a short time before I say goodbye and disconnect from the meeting.
Once, I have returned to the solitude of my room, I return to my html editor and resume the updating of my website page containing the index of the North American Mountains In fact, today is the second day that I have been working on this information web page and hope to have it completed before the end of this weekend.

After a short time, I turn off the hot plate, and then return to the board to resume my key pounding and work on the current web page, while I enjoy my vegetable stew.
The temperature today rises into the sixties and even though the temperature inside had me dressed in my summer blues, I am still wiping the beads of sweat from my brow. Therefore, I determine that today is the day to begin running my air conditioner, and I access the ac to turn it on and set the thermostat to 68°.
Then, I resume pounding keys, continue well past the sunset and long into the night before stopping, turn off my electronics and get horizontal. The air conditioner cycles on and off all night long.

I do not say much and a short time later, I say goodbye and disconnect from the meeting.
Returning to my computer, I resume the work on the current project, now in fifth day of research and data input. However, as I have previously written, I expect this project to be complete before the end of this weekend. Well, I say that in reference to this Geological Wonders page which in the second section indexes the High Points and the top 100 plus Major Mountains of North American.
However, once this individual mountain index page has become loaded up with the many mountains, their names, elevations, coordinates, and parent mountain ranges, I will then begin the next phase of this project, that of adding the blue links into the the North American Mountain Index. These blue links will redirect to the photo-information gallery pages for each of the mountains, ranges and other gallery pages on the website.

Awake, arise, boil water, three-cup meal, pound keys and then I heard loud band music outside so I open the door to look outside and see a band marching by, and realize it is the annual Holland Happening, with the school band parade, arts, costumes, crafts, dancing, food, music, tulips and other cultural activities.
However, the moniker that has been used for more than half a century will no longer be the title of this spring time festival, because the executive director or the Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce has decided to re-titled the event to The Whidbey Island Cultural Festival, as it has been reported, to focus the even on a broader culture festival to be more inclusive, citing a decline in participation and a lack of participating Dutch vendors.
After returning to the confines of my room, I sit back down at the keyboard and resume my pounding. Another day passes by without any other interesting happenings.

Awake, arise, hot shower, and then dress in my summer blues. I sit down at the board and open my computer to begin pounding keys and catch up on my journal writing, when I decide to call JoAnn and ask her if she wants to go to the d-mart in Mount Vernon with me this morning. She tells me that she has someone coming to add new slats to her wooden picket fence and replace those pickets which have become rotten. I tell her that I will leave by ten this morning, make a stop at the bank and then drive by her place on my way off the island.
Upon arriving, she is ready to go, telling me that the man did not show up. I then say to her that I first need to move the stuff from my passenger′s seat and go right to doing so. After a few minutes, John arrives on a motorcycle ready to work, so I continue cleaning up the passenger side while JoAnn talks to the man.
A short time later, we are on the road north on SH 20, then east towards Mount Vernon. We continue on the state highway under the interstate and then right on Burlington Blvd and drive south only to turn left into the parking lot of the first d-mart, which I tell Joann, is the only store that has a package of sprouted brown rice. We go inside and purchase the rice and some herb tea. After leaving that d-mart, we continue to drive south on the boulevard, then across the bridge over the Skigit River and immediately take the Seward road exit and drive west on this road. Just after crossing under IH 5, we arrive the d-mart and I turn into the parking lot, find a space to park and then walk inside to do some shopping. After a time, we both check out, walk back to the jammer and then continue south into Mount Vernon and stop at the Co-op because JoAnn wants to purchase some organic vegetable plant starts for her garden. When we leave the co-op, we then cross the W Division Street bridge over the Skagit River and drive west on SH 536 through the Skagit River tulip valley and soon connect to SH 20. Here, I turn left and drive west on SR 20, cross the Swinomish Channel onto Fidalgo Island to Sharpes Conrner, and then turn south to continue on the state highway.
I continue south on the highway until arriving at JoAnn′s home, get out to help her carry her items onto her deck, then say good bye and continue my drive south on SR 20 to Oak Harbor, the to my motel room where I back into my space. Next, I carry all of my food items inside and then beg to sort and organize the container putting them into their places, some of which go into the pantry area in the room and the rest into the rear food storage box in the jammer. Shortly after eight this evening, I walk outside side to see the sun sets but unlike previous weeks at at this time, the temperature is still in the mid-sixties, so, I comment to two of the tenants about how nice it still is, event at this late time of the day. Finally, I walk back inside, sit down at my computer and resume pounding on the keyboard to finish today′s journal entry.
It is nearly ten this evening when I turn off my computer and get into the horizontal ready for some shut eye.

Awake, arise, hot shower, pack out to the jammer and drive to the w-mart, where I use my rewards to purchase a cup of coffee and also buy a breakfast burrito. Then, I sit down and begin pounding keys while I have my f-meal. I see Sherry walking up to the counter to buy a cup of coffee and she greets me hello. I return the greeting and she tells me that she is having a study with a woman and then sits on one of the corner cushioned chairs to await the woman to arrive.
I remain in the cafe working on my web page until about eleven this morning when I pack out get into the jammer and drive next door to buy some groceries. After I finish shopping, I pack out to the jammer, fold back the bed cushions and place my grocery sacks on the wooden bin. I then drive back to the room, carry the grocery sack inside, and then go back out to the jammer to put up the window shades and close up the jammer. Finally, I walk back into the room and begin stowing the groceries into their places. Once every thing has been put away, I then prepare something for me to eat and then sit down at the board, to eat while I returned to my key pounding.
After the daylight begins to wain and the temperature begins dropping, I continue my key pounding inside while the night encroaches the outside. Now, the time left until my resume of the Journey On is less than three months, after more than nine months have passed by, but ever so slowly.
Soon, I turn off my electronics, get into the horizontal and close my eyes once again.

Then, I sit down at the board, turn on my computer and begin pounding keys whilst I eat my breakfast. I continue here at the board all day long, pounding keys and exaggerating the length of my web pages. In the warming afternoon, I walk out to the jammer and stow some of the gear item that I have used inside the room but now do not need them away from their place.
Before I return to inside the room, I open the rear lift hatch and recognizing that today is a perfectly warm day to accomplish another task concerning the jammer and/or its contents, I decide that I will do some repair work on my Solar Panel storage box. Thus, I remove the solar panel box from its birth, with some of the excess tape I possess, I begin to repair the deteriorated open end by wrapping it numerous times with the tape, first with the clear packing tape, and then over wrap that with the blue painting tape. When I have finished with the end rebuild, I then start to replace the box into its place and when clearing the path for it to slide in, I find the electronic external drive cable that has been lost for I don′s know how long, possibly two or three months. After I walk inside and place the drive cable in my computer case, I return back to the jammer and finish re-installing the solar panel storage box back into its berth. I also gather all of the items that I had found behind the panel box, which was mostly clothing, setting them in the dirty clothes bag. Finally, I stow the rest of the items I have taken out, putting them back in their place and finally close and lock the jammer doors.
Walking back into the room, I return to the table and resume my key pounding, which continues until after darkness fills the entire sky, after which, I turn off the electronics and get into the horizontal for the night.

At about noon, I pack out to the jammer, drive to the local hw-mart in search of a single burner hot plate, on which has a solid burner instead of the multiple coils burner. I own a coil burner and it is always allowing food to burn under the coils, which can not be cleaned because the hot plates are not built that way. However, the solid burner models boast that their burner are easily cleaned. I did not find one during my search of two stores here in Oak Harbor and believe that I will have to travel a bit to find that which I desire to own.
Upon returning back to the room, I pack inside and set up my computer on the board to resume my key pounding. Then, it is long after the sun sets when I turn off my electronics and get into the horizontal.

Later, in the day, there is a knock at the door of my room. I stop what I am doing, don my shirt, then walk to the front door and open it. There standing outside the door is Brother Chambers, an elder in the local congregation, who I immediately invite in. Also, I step outside to grab the extra chair, return inside, set the chair down and ask him to please sit down.
Normally, when an elder visits a person in the congregation, there is almost always a reason for his visit and the visit today proved to be no different. Also, when the reason is to counsel a fellow brother, the direction found within the literature provided by the Governing Body of Jehovah′s Witnesses is explicit and unambiguous. The governing body recommends that when there is a counsel to be given, it must needs be done by introducing that counsel between two points of encouragement, which is to be done as such, so that the one being counseled might not become overly discouraged. Further, the same counsel source recommends that the visit be given by two elders, not just one, and always at a prearranged place and time for all parties involved.
Discouragement
Brother Chambers, on his own and with no prior notice to myself, did initiate a visit with me this day and did give me a point of correction without bothering to otherwise encourage me in any way, no, he absolutely did not provide any such points of encouragement, but instead, used several negative and/or criticizing words in his correction. Nevertheless, despite his failure of following the clear direction (from our organization to the congregations elders for giving counsel interwoven with encouragement), I decide to heed from his voiced correction that part which I deem to be sound counsel and will apply that part which was brought to my attention (Proverbs 12:15). 2 Furthermore, he as an elder must have believed that by stopping at my home like this, his correcting me would be for my ultimate good, and that in reality, his words are and will be for both my good and for the good of the congregation.
However I have found that his approach, (that of failing to use any kindness nor encouragement during his correction) did not now, nor has ever brought about any up-building response, but instead actually results with a discouraging experience for me as an individual. Further this habit (of his criticising without encouragement) has become the regular path taken by this particular elder (and as I recall, there have been a couple other elders here in the Oak Harbor congregation who have done likewise), and this practice (of never providing any encouragement) and is one which I have been the ongoing recipient of on multiple occasions at this Kingdom Hall.
Yes, this demeanor of a few of the local elders (of giving correction unkindly and/or without encouragement) has been ongoing for a very long time, all the while, resulting in my continued experience of discouragement, heartache, even woe, all of which are the result from those unkind words, particularly by this one elder; and it is because of this action by him, that I believe there will never come a time (at least in this system) when I will regain any respect whatsoever for brother Chambers, nor for any other elder who is also guilty of this unkind, unscriptural and habitual path. Like the lone wolf howling at a moonless sky, I too yearn for the coming light.
Shepherding Calls
In addition to the above concern, the longstanding direction from the Governing Body of Jehovah′s Witnesses is for the congregation elders to provide occasional visits to individual members, visits we refer to as Shepherding Calls, which have the intent of providing encouragement (Romans 1:11, 12) pastoral care (Philippians 2:1, 2, 3 & 4) and a spiritual example (1 Timothy 4:12; Titus 2:7, 8) to the flock of God, which visits may include friendly conversations, spiritual encouragement, and prayer.
These shepherding calls are normally pre-arranged and conducted at the home of a member and with the ultimate purpose of fostering a sense of fellowship, camaraderie and support. (1 Peter 5: 1, 2, 3; 1 John 1:3, 7, 8, 9).
However, in the last ten to fifteen years of my being a baptized member of the Oak Harbor congregations, none of the elders, not one of them, have ever arranged to give me a shepherding call, not one single time, no never in all the years that I have been available for such a visit. In fact, the only visits that I have regularly received from any of the elders of the Oak Harbor Congregation are those during which I have only been correction and or been criticised, such as the one today.
Too, I know that all men are imperfect and make mistakes, thus, for this reason, I include the these words in my public journal, even providing a link to my journal entry to the above mentioned elder; and that by doing thus, I hope that this brothers may choose to correct his wrongful conduct and/or injurious path so that no other person might have to suffer through the same loss of confidence and discouragement from those who have been appointed within this congregation to serve, to shepherd, to guide, to care for and to foster camaraderie, fellowship and love, yes, even the love that our heavenly father Jehovah provides to all of his flock. (John 3:16).
Finally, methinks that since I have had to deal with this ongoing problem for such a very long time, that when my current rental lease concludes at the end of July of this year, I must needs leave here, and I will not return to this congregation to attend in person again soon, or possibly ever again in the future, even though I will likely connect using the Zoom app. However, I say these things and will do so thusly never with the purpose of forsaking Jehovah the one true God (Psalms 83:18), nor my exemplar Jesus Christ (John 17:3), but to seek the true fellowship (John 14:6) under the auspices of other congregations of the People of God.

Awake, arise, take a hot shower, dress in my summer blues, sit down at the board to turn on my computer and start the circuit assembly program, which begins, as is common to assemblies, with a musical prelude. Once the music concluded, I pause the program to walk into the kitchen area to boil water and prepare my three-cup morning meal. Then, with the f-meal ready, I carry it to the board, sit down to eat while I begin watching part one of the morning session of the 2025 Circuit Assembly, which has the theme of "Behave in a Manner Worthy of the Good News". As the talks proceed, I begin to understand the depth of the theme scripture: (Phillipians 1:27)
Then, just after ten this morning, Part One of the morning session ends and I key up Part Two to continue watching the Assembly program, which program is titled: Continue in your "Deeds of Godly Devotion", which part highlights the scripture at (2 Peter 3:11, 12a) The talk and this verse encouraged me to continue to persist in doing holy acts of conduct and deeds of godly devotion and gave several suggestions of how I can do this. We continue with the talk for the Baptism candidates, which encourages them to Be "Submissive to the Good News", which the brother give several paths to walk in order to continue being submissive to the Good News of God′s Kingdom.
At noon, I break for something to eat, endeavoring to consume only that which I still have in my refrigerator in order to leave no food in the room when I leave this Monday to drive to Oregon for three weeks of camping in the state parks. Next, work on my web page personal journal for a short time, upload the updates that I have made and afterwards, return to the Circuit Assembly video viewing.

However, when the temperature becomes nicely warm outside, I resume the loading of my things into the jammer, with the final objects filling the floorboard areas in the rear of the jammer. I purposely leave the sleeping birth free of the many possessions that I still carry, so that when I park tomorrow night, I will not have to move anything to get into the horizontal.
After, the room is nearly empty of my possessions, (except for my computer and all of those things that I intend to eventually dispose of into the trash receptacle) I return to pounding keys and the work of updating North American Geographical Regions and the Geological Wonders information pages.
After the sun has set and the night is well upon this day, I turn off my electronics and get into the horizontal one last time before my summer camping road trip.

Awake, arise, hot shower, dress in my spring blues, carry the remainder of my possessions out to the jammer, then walk back into the room to do my final walk-through. Next, I drive to the Veterans Services center for my meeting with the Veteran Service Officer (VSO) Zack, who initiates my request for a disability compensation percentage increase. This meeting takes less than ten minutes and then I spend a little time talking with Tyler, another VSO who has helped me on numerous occasions. Then, I say goodbye, depart the center, get into the jammer and drive north on SH 20 out of Oak Harbor.
My first stop is at Joann′s home to drop of the blue shirt. We talk briefly and then I say goodbye to her, return to the jammer and continue north on SR 20 to the big round-a-bout where I continue east on SR 20 until arriving in Mount Vernon where I stop at the d-mart to acquire several items of my food stores. at IH 5 where I turn onto the interstate highway and head south.
This drive that I begin today on this interstate will traverse southward some 326 miles, a distance that ends up taking nearly four hours, which is somewhat slower that I have traversed the same route before, because today, there are several major slowdowns when driving through the several megalopolises. Still, fours hours is not my longest time it has taken when driving this same course.
When I arrive in Vancouver, Washington I take exit 4, the Hazel Dell exit (NE 78th Street) and turn west, drive to the first traffic light and turn left and arrive at the parking lot of the hf-mart. I park very close to the entrance, grab several grocery bags, my neck wallet from out of its place in my computer bag and walk into the mart to purchase some more food items. After I complete my shopping here, I also drive to several more d-marts looking for an electric hot plate but none of the stores that I stop at keep any in stock, telling me that they are available only online.
Finally, I drive back to the Hazel Dell center and go into the Chipotle restaurant to order a salad, and stay there to have my meal inside the dining area. After eating, I dive to a good location in the same parking lot to set up for the night. It remains quite here in this location with very few people once the sun sets. I climb into the rear of the jammer, get into the horizontal and close my eyes for the night.

Later, I go up to the counter for a refill on my coffee and then continue with my key pounding. Joann calls me mid-morning, saying that she is still having a problem with her phone, asking for my help. I try to help her but with little success, so she says goodbye, disconnects and I go back to my key pounding.
In the mid-afternoon, I walk out to the jammer to bring in a container of vegetable stew and a packages of cooked beets, which I eat at my table while I continue to pound keys. I continue here under overcast skies with short spells of light rain. This w-mart remains very busy well into the afternoon, bur as the day wears on, the baristas finally have the time to begin their daily cleaning chores.
Later, I walk out to the jammer to retrieve a couple of items from my food stores, carry them inside and have something to provide nourishment to my body. I continue to pound keys, adding more to my web pages working late into the afternoon.
Unbeknownst to me as to the time of closing, at seven-thirty this evening, a barista approaches and informs me that the cafe will be closing in a couple of minutes. I answer, "Well, then, I will begin my packing up and be out of here in two minutes. Thank you for letting me know." I pack my belonging, leave the cafe, get into the jammer and drive to the same spot where I parked last evening.

I start the jammer engine and while awaiting for it to warm up, I pull down the window shades and put them to the side of the passenger seat next to the door. Next, I put the transmission in drive and head to the east side of the IH and pull into the w-mart parking lot. Finally, I gather together to myself my phone, computer bag and then walk into the cafe for coffee, com and key pounding. I remain here for much of the morning before packing out and driving to the grocery outlet for some vegetables and other food items.
Once I have purchased my food stores, I pack the items into the rear of the jammer and then begin my drive across the bridge over the Columbia river into Oregon. When I arrive at the intersection for IH 84 I turn into the eastbound entrance for IH 84 and drive eastward along the Oregon side of the Columbia River ecoregion and soon enter the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area (the Gorge). and begin my drive to the state park.
Along this eastbound drive, I begin to see glimpses of Mount Hood, which from this approach is a perfect cone shaped mountain with quite a lot of ice and snow still on the upper half and above the treeline.
Soon afterwards, I arrive at exit 56, leave the interstate highway, cross under the overpass and drive into the state park. Upon arriving at my campsite, I find it to be swept clean, so I back in, plug in and then go about my preparations for getting ready for my first of two ten day spans of camping here in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Too, I recognize that before the second ten day stint is complete, I will have become completely fill up with too many days of camping here in this beautiful area.

Day One
Awake to my first day of camping here in the Gorge after it having it rain all night long. When I arise, the forest is still dripping from the night-time rain but slowly turns from being overcast to being sunny during the afternoon. The day continues along and I go about my usual routine, key pounding, boiling water, f-meal, more key pounding, another maal and then finally, it close up the jammer for the incoming cooler evening.
Then, I return to the key pounding and work well into the evening, all the while taking note of the progress of the days end. The first light to go is the light upon the forest floor goes from green to black, at which time the numerous children here for this holiday weekend are out and about, running, playing, riding their bicycles with a few young courtships being tested, while the adults are lighting their campfires and drawing close to the fire for its warmth. Soon, the light fades even more as the forest canopy also begins to darken going from green to black. All along, the sky above the forest remains a bright gray blue in comparison to that which is below. Only when the forest floor and canopy has become black does the color of the sky begin to darken, first to a dark gray-blue, then to a dark gray and finally it to become just dark as the celestial object begin to shine through the darkness.

Awake, arise to a beautifully sunny morning, grab my towel and shower bag, step outside and then walk to the restroom to take a hot shower. Upon returning, I then get out my kettle and boil water to prepare my three-cup f-meal, and when it is done, I carry the three cups into the jammer where I can eat my breakfast while I pound keys to update my journal entries. Then, in the early afternoon, the hordes of Weekend Warriors begin to arrive driving around the campsite loop until locating their campsite and then backing into the space. True to their nature of being weekend warriors, most of their attempts at obtaining the correct backed in position, requires more than one attempt. Methinks, I laugh at the absurdity of their ever becoming a wayfarer. I then put up all of my window shades so that I will not be quickly disturbed from the ever influx of numerous more of these warriors, even some goofers and turkeys, who arrive for a weekend of their never-ending quest for pleasure and excesses.
A little later, I make a call to my friend in Tennessee, Joe, and we talk for a short time. It is Joe who reminds me that this weekend is the three day Memorial Day weekend with Monday being a national holiday. I tell him that I always forget about the national holidays and that is the reason for the the enormous amount of Weekend Warriors here now in the state park. We talk for a time and then he explains that he has arrived at the place where he has driven to show for some needed items and must needs say goodbye. He tells me that he will call me back, which I have come to know is his way of telling me that he can not talk right now and not that he will actually call me back later.
I then return to my key pounding and do not stop until long after dark, at which time, I turn off my computer, get into the horizontal and close my eyes for the night.

Day Three
Awake, rise slowly, and since being here for a couple of days, I have noticed that the sunlight, however bright it is does not easily filter down through the thick stand of forest that surrounds my campsite, instead, the forest keeps the light from entering the jammer and subsequently awaking me.
When I have arisen, I grab my towel, shower bag and key chain, step out of the jammer and walk to the bath house for some hot water. Afterwards, I return to the jammer, hang the wet towel over the steering wheel to dry out, hang the shower bag and key chain back on their hooks and then climb back into the jammer to resume my key pounding.
Shortly after, my friend from Colorado, Gordon calls and we talk for a time, mostly just to catch up. During our conversation, he asks about my friend in Tennessee and I tell him that I have heard from him in a while. So, after we say our good-byes, I call Joe and talk to him for a time as well. Then, when I turn the phone off, I return to catching up with my journal writing, which I have neglected since arriving here in the Gorge.
At ten this evening, I turn of the electronics and get into the horizontal only having to listen to the neighbors in the campsite next to me still outside talking out loud. Even though this is braking Campground Rule Number One: Quite Hours are between 10pm and 7am, I do not immediately correct them, but turn over and try to sleep. Instead of obeying the rules, there showing of politeness in their attitude and behavior toward other is not far short of defiance. However, shortly after ten-thirty this evening, there is a loud shout of laughter, so I shine my flashlight at them, and then speak out loud, ":Hey, Quite Time is Ten pm, this is my Final Warning.": They seem to have taken my warning and disperse into there several RVs.

However, I put it aside from my mind and instead just continue in my morning routine, first, eating while I drink my hot mushroom coffee and pound on the keyboard.
Then, at nine-fifty, I connect to the Oak Harbor weekend meeting and listen in as it proceeds. Afterwards, I talk with Monte for a short time and then say my goodbye.
Afterwards, I return to my work on my Geological Wonders update, working well into the evening before turning off my electronics and getting into the horizontal.

Awake and do not arise until late, open the side sliding door, step outside, gather my things from their hooks and walk to the rest room for a hot shower. Upon return, I get out the kettle, add water and then flip the switch to turn it on. Then I gather my three cups and return to the picnic table with them and finally, I insert the appropriate items for my three-cup meal into each. After the water has boiled and then poured into the three cups, I carry my breakfast into my writing berth, climb in and begin eating and writing. Immediately, I feel a cool breeze coming down from the south rim above this gorge and so, I step out briefly to close all but the rear lift door.
As I sit here pounding keys, I watch as the many weekend warriors pack out all of their voluminous amount of possessions and then one after another, start their engines and then drive their rigs out of camp, done with camping until the next opportune weekend, one usually associated with a national holiday so that there weekend stay may be extended a day longer. Yes, they will always be back, well, as long as this system remains.
I, however, remain within the confines of my Fortress of Aerostar, window shades fully spread in their places and myself, pounding keys in my perpetually updating the information on my website. Then, at shortly before noon today, I step outside, get out my cookpot, electric hot plate, all of the remaining vegetable, two of the packages of chicken broth, the containers of rice, sea weed flakes, my spice mix and put all the ingredients on the picnic table. With everything now handy, I begin to boil the chicken broth in the cookpot and while waiting for it to boil, I begin chopping up all of the remaining vegetables, put each in one of my four food storage bins. When the broth begins to boil, I first add the rice and cook it for about thirty minutes. Next, I drain the broth from the rice and set it aside in another cookpot, covering it with a lid. Then, I bring the broth back to a boil and first add the chopped cabbage. I also add a second package of broth and wait for it to boil once more. At this time, I empty the rest of the food bins into the cookpot, raise the temp back to hi and keep stirring as it returns to a boil. Once the cookpot arrives at boiling this time, I add a 1/4 cup of Dulse sea weed and about 1/3 cup of my spice mix, all the while, stirring the cookpot.
At this time, a woman and her granddaughter call out to me, "Hello Thom." I stop turn around and then begin walking to the surrounding block wall to return her greeting. A short time later, I return to the cookpot and turn the hot plate to off so that I can talk with her a little more. Her name is Debbie, her granddaughter is Ellesyn, which took me several times before I remember that name.
When I ask Debbie how she knows me, she said that she lives in Oregon and she met me here during the last weekend in March when she had come here for her Spring Camping Trip. I then reply, "Yes, I do remember meeting you then." Too, it was when we met then that she told me that she has a brother named Tom and that remembering my name would be easy. We three, Debbie, her grand daughter and I talk for quite a time and I bring up my writing a book, after which I give her one of my business cards and also show her how to download a free copy. We say goodbye and she returns to her RV to help finish packing and then she pulls out of the park to join the many of those already left. Now the campground is almost nearly empty and should prove to be much nicer with all the weekend warriors absent.
For my part, I will remain here for one more night but for now, I gather the four food containers, add cooked rice to the bottom of each, then fill them with the vegetable stew and what remains over will be my supper tonight. Next, I take the four filled food containers and wrap them in bubble wrap, insert them into a small shipping box, close the lid and then put then on the floor of the jammer with my wool blanket covering them, where they will stay until I begin removing them from the box so as to have something to eat.
I remain inside the jammer most of the day, but then at about an hour before sunset, I step outside, find a lighter and walk to the fire pit where, I sit down on my stool and begin going through the accumulated mail from the last six months in order to sort and burn what I do not need. This takes me about and hour, after which, I clean up the area, put all my things away and climb into the sliding side door to get into my back leaning rest position for the night.

Finally, I sit down on the inner edge of the bed, open my computer and begin writing today′s journal entry as I enjoy my breakfast. After pounding keys for a couple of hours, I finish packing out, unplug and I too, at noon today, drive out of this state park.
Leaving Viento SP, I drive west on IH 84, past my next overnight location an into the city of Troutdale, Oregon to stop for a few supplies, both food and supplemental. I am done shopping at about two pm and then drive to the interstate and head back east towards the next state park arriving there long before the normal four pm checking time. I have the handicap site reserved for the next four nights but I do not remember the campsite number so I begin driving through the park to find the one for handicap. I find the park to have many large old growth trees, both Eudicots (or commonly flowering plants producing seeds) and Conifers (or cone bearing plants).

Although the walk to the rest room is close to 200 feet, it is only slightly elevated which makes it a somewhat easy walk for me. Before I became aware of this path, I had first walked along the loop road way and then up a very steep hill to the restroom. The climb took a very long time and I had to stop several times on the way up. When I arrived that first time, I found the ranger cleaning the restroom and asked here about an easier way to walk here. She pointed to a path and said, "That is the handicap path." Upon walking down that path, I do agree that is is much easier for me to walk
I climb back into the jammer and resume my key pounding while the afternoon become quite hot, so I lie down and take a senior nap. What is a Senior Nap? Well, that is a nap that people like myself take whenever we feel like doing so.

Day Eight
The following is a very interesting account of a day in history which occurs in the year 46 BCE.
Based on mathematics and astronomy, Julius Caesar discovered the Roman calendar had fallen 90 days behind the solar year. His solution was a one-time "last year of confusion" with 445 days to sync the calendar with the solar year. Romans endured fifteen months that year, but the reset worked. While Caesar′s calendar needed a few minor adjustments such as an occasional leap year, there′s never been another extra-long year. To this day, we are still marching along to the tune of Julius Caesar′s time.
Another warm day, during which I remain inside of the jammer trying to keep my cool. Nevertheless, it only gets warm between one in the afternoon until about seven pm, but I find that time goes by very fast if I am napping.

Awake, arise, grab my towel and shower bag, then walk the path to the shower house for some hot water. Afterwards, I prepare something to eat and then sit in the jammer to pound keys while eating breakfast. Today become the hottest day so far this year with the temperature rising into the mid 80s, which was unbearable. Nevertheless, I put up all of my window shades, reflective side out to halt the incursion of the ambient heat. Too, I got into the back leaning prone position placing my body below the over warmed inside higher elevation. Yes, whenever I would sit up, I could feel the warm air inside the jammer on my face and upper torso, so I just resumed my horizontal position and my senior nap
Right at seven this evening, as the sun continues its drop below the trees, I open the side sliding door, step outside and plug my hot plate into the extension cord. Next, I get out the two ingredients that will be my evening meal, a box of macaroni & cheese and a can of chili with beans, which dish I have always called Chili-mac. After eating, I climb back into the jammer and resume my key pounding for a time while awaiting for the temperature to drop below 70°
It is now eight-fifty and the sun has just set. Wow, has this been a warm day! The high temperature is suppose to be lower for the next week, not getting higher than 76°.

After a long soak, I leave the bath house, walk back down to the jammer and open up the side sliding and rear lift doors. Then, I get out my three cups and proceed to prepare my f-meal, and while the kettle is heating the liter of water, I climb in through the side sliding door and turn on my computer. After my three-cup meal is prepared and inside the jammer office, I then commence to pound keys, starting with this journal entry.
Today, the weather is overcast, which also keeps the ambient temperature in the low 60s all day. I remain inside the jammer pounding keys, taking breaks for senior naps. Late into the evening, I finally get horizontal for the night.

Awake, walk to the bath house, shower, return to the jammer, get out the kettle and boil water and finally prepare my three-cup. When my f-meal is done, I carry the cups into the jammer, climb in and begin my journal writing. Later, the temperature rises into the high 70s and I stay inside the jammer until the afternoon and the sun begins its long downward path to the horizon. I get out the package of adhesive letters and begin to work on a new sign for the rear of the jammer to advertise my web site.
This job takes me until about five-thirty to complete and then it is time to begin preparations for my e-meal. I choose to make my Repast recipe but I am short of having all of the ingredients, so I use extra rice, with onions, garlic, ginger, seaweed, spice mix and a small amount of lentils. All of the grains are sprouted and the vegetables are organic.
I just finish eating two cupfuls when my alarm goes off reminding me that the mid-week meeting is about to begin, so, I turn on my phone, start the Zoom app and then get connected to the Oak Harbor meeting. When I get connected, I first visit with the Zoomers and when the meeting starts, I listen in to the several parts.
Afterwards, with the sunset this day not occurring until nearly nine pm, the light of this day is still fully lighting this campground.

When the water boils, I pour portions into each of the three cups, after which I carry all three cups into the jammer office, climb in and begin eating my breakfast whilst I begin my journal entry for this day.
This day progresses from morning into afternoon and the afternoon seems to linger far much longer than I had even hopped for, lasting until nearly nine and causing the temperature to soar into the mid 80s before the sun begins to drop below the horizon. Too, as the sun sets, the temperature slowly reduces back to the low 60s, much more to my liking. Not long after that, I get into the horizontal for the night.

Lately, I have not been turning my computer off but just merely closing the lid and unplugging it. Again, as is part of my morning routine, I take the moment to give thanks to the Creator for the many blessings he bestows upon this slave.
Now, I return to my journal writing for this new day, whilst I take spoonfuls of my Daystart and sips of my mushroom coffee. Meanwhile, I review the study article in the Watchtower magazine. Shortly after eating, I connect to the Oak Harbor Congregation and visit for a short time with the Zoomers.

Then I use my brown towel to dry off the jammer. Upon completion of this task, I retire to the jammer office and begin pounding keys whilst I enjoy my breakfast. I continue here until the late morning, mostly pounding keys and then pack out, clean up my site, start the jammer to let it warm up while I roll up the electrical extension cord.
Once everything is packed and I have checked the campsite for any pieces of trash, I drive the loop to dump my garbage and then drive out of the campground. Soon, I arrive at the IH 84 and take the westbound entrance to Troutdale, Oregon where I exit and drive to my first grocery stop, Natural Grocery in Gresham, Oregon to purchase some food supplies. Next, I drive to a Chipotle restaurant for a salad, after which I stop in the larger parking area under some shade trees to take a nap and wait until after five this afternoon to begin my drive back to Oak Harbor.
When I awake from my nap, I feel fully rested and so begin my drive into Washington and north on IH 5 for the four hour and thirty minute drive. Although it is a long drive, I am able to do it non-stop, arriving in Oak Harbor and my room in the Oak Harbor Inn at about eleven pm. Then, instead of going inside, I decide to sleep in the van tonight, just climbing into the rear and pulling the covers up over my head. I do awake a couple of times but return to sleep quickly.

In the wild, I purposely would take every opportunity to clean myself, be it under a waterfall, in a lake, alongside a river, stream or creek, at a spring, even sometimes at a faucet. All of the previous are locations whereupon I have got out my towel to dry off.
