The Foxe Basin Plain include the coastal lowlands surrounding Foxe Basin, primarily in south coastal Baffin Island area. This ecoregion has a mid-arctic ecoclimate, and is characterized by discontinuous tundra vegetation. The permafrost is continuous with medium ice content.
Terrestrial mammals include arctic hair, arctic fox, caribou, lemming and polar bear, while marine mammals include: seals, walrus and whales. Birds include: king eider, hoary redpoll, northern fulmar, plover, rock ptarmigan and snow bunting.
Two main settlements include: Iglookik and Hall Beach with a population of about 1500.
