After having spent the winter sojourn in the South of Texas and like each year following the first year I migrated there, it is usually in the middle of February during my stay in the South of Texas when I begin moving north, but only when the night time temperatures do not drop below sixty degrees, and indicates to me that the warmer weather has arrived.
This year, I begin the Journey on, my spring migration north on Day
275 TN, and I start to move slowly northward, first northeast along the coast of Texas and then north through the
Piney Woods ecoregion of east Texas.
My story in this part of the Journey On continues and only Jehovah God knows the outcome before it happens
(Isaiah 46:10) so, we must needs trust in Him.

Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake to a much warmer morning today, dress in my fall blues, drive to the w-mart and once I have parked, I decide to check the air in the jammer tires. A friend from League City has told me that he thought a couple of the tires were low.
So, I get out my air gauge and begin checking the tire pressure and found that all the tires were down just a little, so I then get out my air pump and start adding air to each tire. In about a half an hour, I have finished adding air, so I put away my tools and then go inside for my morning coffee.
Once I have my computer set up and a cup of coffee on the table, I begin another day of pounding keys and updating my web site. Also, since I have begun a new page in my journal, I also need to update my front door to point to correct page for the current journal entry. Once I do that, I then upload all the files to the web site.
In the later afternoon, dark clouds cover the sky and it looks like it will be raining for the rest of the day, so I check the weather forecast to find out that there is a severe thunderstorm watch and it will be raining for the next two days and remain overcast though to the next weekend. Methinks, this is what I get for coming onto the wet side.
This evening, while in the back of the jammer, the thunderstorm is right overhead with a down pour, lightning and thunder.
(Day 302 TN) 45°F. 8:00 am, cloudy
Journey On, Day 28
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress, dump my garbage, drive to the w-mart and go inside for computer, com and coffee. The storm has moved to the east and the rain has ceased but it is still cloudy. I will remain here in this area for a few more days, but likely will move north to Texarkana by this weekend. Also, the temperature is very comfortable with good sleeping weather.
In the afternoon, Gordon sends a text asking about the 91 blue van that I inquired about and I contacted the owner to find out that the van is priced right, is the extended version, has good mileage and has the nicest looking exterior that I have ever seen. Gordon then tries to set up a ride to go there but is not able to and then gives up on trying to purchase the vehicle.
I return to my work with my website, continue until after dark when I then pack out, drive to the d-mart to park once again for the night.

Journey On, Day 30
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, slow to rise, start the engine, dump my garbage, drive to the w-mart, walk inside for coffee, com and computer. At nine this morning, I connect to the ministry meeting in order to continue working my writing letters, and after some hours, I put away the pen and paper to resume working on my web site pages.
Later, after it becomes dark, I connect back to the congregation meeting and listen in to the several parts. Right before the meeting ends, a barista comes to tell me that the cafe is closed, so I pack out and finish the meeting inside of the jammer. After the meeting, I drive to the d-mart, park and climb into the rear of the jammer.

Journey On, Day 31
Overnighting in a parking lot
Arise, dress in my fall blues, climb into the drivers seat, start the jammer and leave the parking lot east on SH 281 Loop, drive a short distance to US 259 and turn north about 50 miles to Daingerfield, Texas where I stop briefly for a cup of coffee and then turn east on SH 11, one that I not traveled, drive about two and a half miles and then enter the Daingerfield state park. I acquire a permit and then enter the park, drive to the first shower house and get into the hot water.
After my shower, I drive farther into the park to look at some of the amenities here and I am quite impressed with what this state park has. Upon leaving the state park, I continue east on SH 11 another five miles and when the state highway splits, I turn left to continue on SH 11 and notice on the corner, a sign stating Wildflower Restaurant Great East Texas Cooking and another saying it is an all-you-can-eat restaurant.
I was hooked on the Great East Texas Cooking, but was hoping that it will have a breakfast menu, I pull in, grab my phone, wallet and then walk into the restaurant only to find that it is a lunch menu, however, the meal is just ten dollars. I get a large salad, set it on the table and go back for a plate of meat loaf, greens, mashed potatoes and cornbread. I also take three of the fresh baked cookies and then sit down to enjoy my Texas cooking. I have always love this food which I was reared on. I leave this restaurant, not overly full, but completely satisfied.
Departing the restaurant, I continue east on SH 11 for another hour towards Linden and then turn north on SH 8, continuing on road not before traveled, for

Sleep late, awake, dress in my fall blues, dump my garbage, drive to the d-mart for a carton of cold coconut milk and then drive to the w-mart to park and drink my coconut milk. After I finish, I walk into the cafe, sit at a table and set up my computer to begin recording the last two days of my journey.
I continue here all day and finally, I pack out, drive to the d-mart for the night.

Awake, dress, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com, computer and then zoom for another meeting. Then, after the meeting ends, I resume work on my website until dark when I drive to the d-mart for my last night here in Texarkana for this visit,
I watch some online videos but I decide that I really need to stop doing this and even pray to Jehovah for help in accomplishing this cessation of what is somewhat like an addition. Yes, I pray much this evening about this matter.

Journey On, Day 34
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress in my fall blues, start the jammer and drive out of the parking lot onto State Line Road traveling north to IH 30 where I enter the interstate and head east into Arkansas. After driving for about an hour, I exit at the Caddo Valley off ramp, exit 78 and turn north onto SH 7, where I immediately pull into the parking lot of the Cracker Barrel for some breakfast.
After eating, I strike up a conversation with the cashier and give her one of my business cards. Then, I exit the restaurant and continue north on SH 7 through more of the Pine Woods of the
South Central Plains ecoregion.
I continue past DeGray Lake state park and then later across Lake Hamilton and into Hot Springs where I drive to the l-mart to wash my clothes. An hour later, I drive back south on SH 7 to the w-mart, pull into the parking lot, plug in to the pole receptacle and work on my computer. This receptacle is on the light pole in the parking lot which I have surmised was installed for Christmas lighting and since coming here for many years, have used this receptacle for plugging my extension cord into.
I continue here until after dark when I pack out and drive to the d-mart for the night. It begins to rain during the night and continues with downpours, lightning and thunder throughout the night.

Awake, still raining, dress in my fall blues, drive to the w-mart for coffee and hot water, then return to the jammer to connect to the internet. I had wanted to drive to the hot spring pool today but when I checked the business hours last night, found that the Quapaw Bathhouse is closed every Tuesday, so I will wait until tomorrow morning to go for my hot water. Meanwhile, I will hang out here at the w-mart today and work on my computer.
After a long day sitting in the back of the jammer pounding keys, I unplug, roll up my cord, put it back into its place and then drive to the d-mart to park for the night.
(Day 310 TN) 50°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Journey On, Day 36
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, start the jammer, drive to the w-mart for coffee, hot water and then return to the jammer to plug in and pound keys while I wait for the pools to open.
Later this morning, I drive to the bank, arriving at eight-thirty, walk inside and up to the writing counter. I fill out a slip to withdraw my monthly deposit and then get into the short line for the teller. There is only one teller this morning and he is taking care of both the inside customers and the drive through. When it is my turn, I hand the teller my paper slip, bank card and drivers licence. Mike then asks me How do you want your money? to which I reply, All twenties if you have them. Then, he takes the money out of the drawer, counts it in front of me and then hands it to me. I then walk to the writing counter and recount the money, after which, I return to the jammer.
Next, I drive to the
Whittington cold water spring and fill up two empty gallon bottles from the spring spigot. After this, I drive back along Bathhouse Row, turn right on Court street, then right again on Exchange street and then into the free parking garage. Once I find a space to park, I open the back lift door and get out my day pack to get ready for my walk down to get into the Quapaw pools. Exiting the parking garage, I walk along the Bath Wishing pools, cross Central Avenue and then up the road to the Quapaw Bathhouse. At the counter, when paying my entrance fee, which by the way has increased from twenty-one dollars to twenty-seven dollars and thirty-eight cents, I only barely had enough money to get in, using up all of my change out of my coin pouch for the fee.
Then, I walk into the mens dressing room, put my pack in locker number 24, take a hot shower and then go into the pool room to begin my hot water soaks. Like I have been doing for many years, I sit in the hot water until I sweat, which at first is about five to ten minutes, then I take a cold water shower and rinse my entire body off. After that, I repeat the process and extend the time that I stay in the hot water to as much as twenty minutes. All along, I am talking with others and endeavoring to share something about the Bible and Jehovah′s Paradise soon to come.
After about four hours, I pack out of the pool room, return to the dressing room to take one more cold shower, then a hot one with soap after which I dry off, dress and then leave the Bathhouse to return to the parking garage. I then drive back to the w-mart, park next to the receptacle pole and plug in. Then, I continue here on my computer until after it becomes dark, when I pack out and drive to d-mart for the night.
(Day 311 TN) 42°F. 8:00 am, sunny
Journey On, Day 37
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress in my fall blues, drive closer to the d-mart, park, and walk inside to purchase some onions, sweet potatoes, bananas, avocados, and two wild caught tuna steaks. Next, I return to the jammer, pack the food into my cooler and then drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer.
Today, I just work on my computer all day, but mostly just relaxing and taking it easy. Much later, after dark, I return to the d-mart, park and climb into the back of the jammer for another night.
(Day 312 TN) 37°F. 8:00 am, sunny
Journey On, Day 38
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress in fall blues, start the jammer and drive to the af-mart to fill up my gasoline tank. Next, I drive to the w-mart for coffee and hot water, then I return to the jammer to make a cup of Daystart, after which I plug in to the pole outlet, turn on my computer and begin to catch up on my journal writing.
Then, at about eleven this morning, I pull out of the w-mart parking lot and begin the six hour drive to my next stop at
Meriwether Lewis Campground on the
Natchez Trace Parkway in Tennessee. From Hot Springs, I drive east on US 70 to IH 30, then northeast to Little Rock, Arkansas, right onto IH 440 around the east side of the city, across the Arkansas river and come to IH 40 where I turn east and continue across the Arkansas Alluvial Plains to the
Mississippi river, over the through, tied-arch steel bridge know as the
Hernando do Soto Bridge. I have been across this bridge many times before today but today is the first time that I found out what type of bridge it is. Now, since I know it is an arch bridge, I will have to make a place for photos on my website and in future crossings, may even stop to get some nice photos of it.
After crossing the bridge, I drive past the Memphis Pyramid, then around the north IH 40 loop and then east on IH 40 where it joins with the IH 240 loop. Then, I continue east on IH 40 until I drive to Jackson, Tennessee where I first stop for my supper at a Cracker Barrel. Afterwards, I continue on IH 40 to exit 87, turn right and continue east on US 412. I drive seventy-five miles to Hohenwald, Tennessee where I turn right on SH 48, next left on SR 20 and then drive to Meriwether Lewis campground.
Once I am in the campground, I drive first to the rest room after which I drive through the campground and only find a couple of sites open. I then select site 13 near the entrance to the campground and back into the space and set up for the night.
I must say that the entire route that I drove today is a very familiar route, traveled many times by me in past years. Too, earlier, I contacted David, the brother whom I will be visiting this trip but find out that he needed to go to the hospital this morning because he had a high fever. I sent him a text and told him that I will be holed up near Hohenwald, Tennessee at the campground.

Awake, dress and then go to the restroom, after which, I return to my campsite and begin boiling water for coffee and hot tea. Then, I get out the tuna steaks and cook them because I most likely will not have an opportunity to do so in the next several days. Tuna steak for breakfast with hot coffee in a new meal for me, but in actuality, I could eat fresh tuna day or night. After I clean up, I walk across the road to meet my neighbors Betty who is a teacher and her son Josh, who are from California. They say that they are moving to Tennessee because California teaching rules is requiring COVID vaccinations and they have both decided not to be vaccinated. I tell them that I am not getting vaccinated either. We talk for a long time and I give both one of my cards. I also witness to them about the importance to learn about the most high God and to serve him instead of the men of this world.
Both Betty and Josh seem to be understanding the issues that face mankind today and are fleeing from one tyrant state to find somewhere better to live. Betty tells me that she uses tea tree oil to mix with another oil and uses it to wash her hair and body. I explain other uses of the tea tree oil and just before leaving camp, give here a zip lock bag with a couple of tea tree tea bag. She thanks me and then I say good bye to my friends and hope that they contact me later.
Next, I drive out of the campground, turn east on SH 20, drive over the Natchez Trace and continue on SR 20 until it connects with US 43 and take this highway northeast to Columbia, Tennessee where I stop at the w-mart, park and go inside. Again, the path driven today are some of the old paths taken by me in previous years. I arrive at the w-mart in the late morning, park, go inside and upload my work done while in the forest. Too, I continue working on my website here inside the cafe until about eight this evening when I pack out and go looking for my place to park for the night.

It is not until seven-thirty this evening when I complete the current project of updating the
Caves and Caverns Gallery and soon after that, I upload the pages to the website.
Soon after, I pack out, drive to the d-mart and park the jammer for the evening.
(Day 316 TN) 44°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Journey On, Day 42
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress in my fall blues, drive to the w-mart, go inside for coffee, com and computer. I will wait here until the meeting this Sunday at the Centerville Kingdom Hall. Much later, David contacts me and lets me know he is on his way to his home so I pack out and begin the drive to Pinewood, Tennessee, pull over in a parking lot along the road where I wait for him to arrive.
Methinks, it will be twenty two years since we have seen each other. When David arrives, I indicate by a hand jester to lead the way and he drives to his small home where we both park, get out and greet one another. Then, I grab the two chairs, set them together and then retrieve two large concrete blocks to use to prepare my evening meal. After asking David if he would like to join me for something to eat, I tell him the ingredients of the Repast that I am cooking. He says that he can not eat Quinoa so I eliminate that from the recipe and continue to boil water.
Then a brother and sister who also live in this community stop by and David introduces them as John and Linda. I also learn they are from Pleasantville, Tennessee which I already know is part of the Centerville congregation territory. We talk for a long time and I offer to make everyone a cup of hot tea, but John and Linda say that they need to leave to do some shopping. We all say our good byes and then the couple drives away. I make a cup of hot tea for David and myself, after which, I continue with the meal preparation.
David goes inside to retrieve two bowls and two spoons and when the food is ready, I ask David to say the prayer. We continue our conversation while we eat and slowly the light of day decreases around us until we are sitting in the dark. Finally, I put away my kitchen and after I say good night to David, he goes into his home and I retire to the jammer and prepare for my night′s sleep.

Awake and see that David has already left for his doctor appointment (he had told me last night he would leave early) and I start the jammer drive out of the Hidden Valley Lakes estate turn right on SH 48, drive past the Kingdom Hall and into Centerville where I stop at the ff-mart for hot coffee and a biscuit which I sit down inside the cafe to eat.
Afterwards, I drive east on SH 100 and turn right on SH 230 and drive to Littlelot, Tennessee, then south, crossing the Duck river once and then to SH 50 where I turn left and continue east crossing the Duck River two more times, arriving back at the w-mart in Columbia, Tennessee.
After parking, I walk inside the cafe for com, computer and later something to eat. Later, after it becomes dark outside, I pack out, drive to the d-mart, park, set up my window shades and then climb into the rear of the jammer for the evening.
Soon after getting into the horizontal, it begins to rain, a downpour, which lasts for over an hour.

Awake, drive to the w-mart, grab my computer bag, go inside the cafe and order my cup of coffee. I then connect to the Harlingen congregation for the ministry meeting to resume my letter writing ministry. During the meeting introduction, the elder conducting made a disparaging remark about how I am not part of the Harlingen congregation so I do not count. I had to bite my lip and not say anything but his remark cut deeply. Nevertheless, I continue there and work with the friends in the ministry.
After the service meeting is over, I turn off the zoom app and return to my work on the website. Latter, I connect again to the Harlingen congregation with the zoom app for the mid-week meeting and stay with the meeting until the last prayer.
Finally, I drive to the d-mart, park and get ready for another night in the rear of the jammer.

Awake, dump my trash, drive to the w-mart, park, walk inside, set up my computer, coffee, com, key pounding. It is not until after dark when I leave the cafe, pack out to the jammer and then drive northwest on SH 50 back to Centerville, then right on SH 100 through the town square where I make a short detour to Huddleston street to see where I once called home. I rented a room from Claude Johnston here on Huddleston street in
Too, I begin looking for a good place to park the jammer for the night, but not finding one in town that I really like, I continue east across the Duck river, then east on SH 100 to the junction with SH 230 where I stop at the ff-mart and park for a time. However, even here, I do not feel comfortable about overnighting. I then drive north on SH 230 for a couple of miles and arrive at the hall where I pull into the back of the parking lot and back into a space.
I then put up my window shades, climb into the rear of the jam and get into the horizontal for the night. Methinks, tomorrow will start my journey of meeting with the Centerville, Tennessee congregation.

Journey On, Day 47
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, drive back to the ff-mart on SH 100, drive through to purchase coffee and then park to sip coffee and check my com. A little later, I clean up somewhat, put on my tie and then drive back to the hall for the weekend meeting, the first one that I have been to since all of the halls closed for the pandemic in December 2019, two years, four months ago. Also,i it has been twenty-two years since I had last visited this congregation, so, there are so very few of the friends that I still remember, or that remember me.
After the meeting, I follow David to visit with his sister Amy, her husband Trevor and another couple Coy and Wendy, who are all there for a barbecue. Amy packs up some of the food for David, me and their mom and then I follow David to where his mom lives. We go inside to visit with Glenda and have our supper while we sit in the living room and talk. Much of what we discuss has to do with striving to be healthy and how I have learned that the real key to good health is avoiding food that causes
inflammation.
It is about seven this evening when all three of us walk out of Glenda′s apartment, ride the elevator down to the ground floor and then walk out side to my van, because Glenda said that she wanted to see my home. After giving Glenda that twenty-five cent tour, I then say good bye to both David and Glenda and then drive back into Centerville, drive around the town square and out the west exit on SH 100, out of town and when I arrive at SH 50, I turn south and drive to Columbia. Once I am in Columbia, I drive to the d-mart, park and climb into the back for the evening.
(Day 322 TN) 38°F. 7:30 am, overcast
Journey On, Day 48
Awake, start the jammer, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I spend the entire day here pounding keys, working mostly on my website.
Also, I call Joe, who says that he and Sarah are now back at his home after their three month cross country journey. He welcomes me to stop by next Friday for a visit. I tell him that if I am still in Tennessee then, I will drive there. Too, I talk with Gordon, who has taken a train to Reno, Nevada to look at a 1991 Ford Aerostar van, which he does buy and then begins his drive back to Colorado.
Finally, after it becomes dark outside, I pack out of the w-mart, drive to the d-mart to set up camp and sleep.

I do call to talk with Joe, who is now back at his home in Ardmore, Tennessee.
After a day of updating web pages, I then pack out, drive to the same spot that I have been overnighting for near a week, climb into the rear of the jammer and retire for the evening.

Awake, drive, coffee, com, key pounding, food, more key pounding then back to the d-mart for another night of sleep.
I do receive a text from Gordon telling me of his progress in his drive east from Reno, Nevada back to Loveland, Colorado. He tells me that he had to purchase a sleeping bag to endure the cold he was experiencing.

Awake, dress in my fall blues, drive to the w-mart, carry my computer bag inside, set up at the same table and then connect to the Harlingen congregation zoom ministry meeting. I greet the friends there and then go up to the counter to purchase a cup of coffee. Next, I return to my computer and continue to compose my ministry letter to my brother Barry.
Then, by one this afternoon, all others have disconnected from the zoom meeting, so I disconnect as well. However, I continue my work of composing the letter until about three-thirty this afternoon, after which, I put away the writing tablet and then return to working on my website.

Journey On, Day 52
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress in my fall blues, drive about ten miles east on US 412 and stop at the Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Then I drive to IH 65 and enter going south. At exit six in Tennessee, I get off drive west a short distance to US 31 and turn south towards Ardmore and soon come to the Elk River where I see two bridges, one I drive over and one that is closed but still stands. I stop and take some photos but due to the closeness of the bridges, I can not get a good photo of the old Elk river crossing.
I continue driving south on old US 31, but now SH 7 and drive through down the town of Ardmore and when I exit the east side of town the road turn southeastward and into Alabama on SH 53 towards Huntsville but my GPS takes me down a county road named Wall Trianna until I arrive at US 72. Here, I turn left, drive a short distance and locate a w-mart where I pull in and set up my computer in the back of the jammer.
Next, I update my journal, then upload it to the website and after wards, I dive to a hf-mart for some vegetables. Upon arrival at the hf-mart, I find the organics wanting and only buy a few items, after which, I drive to the d-mart and park for the evening, even though quite early. Upon parking, I get into the rear of the jammer and because it is somewhat cold, I get under the blanket and retire for the evening and I am asleep early tonight.

I study for a time and then connect to the meeting in Centerville, Tennessee using my zoom app. There I experience something new, I am immediately put into a breakout room where I will need to wait for the meeting to begin. I have never seen this procedure before and since I am there alone, and because of my not knowing why, I leave the meeting and wait for a few more minutes.
When I reconnect to the meeting, I am returned right back into that breakout room and there see several of the friends talking. I talk with them for a few minutes and then check and find out that there are two rooms, each with several friends. I then say excuse me to the friends here in this room and move to see who is in the second room. There I find a couple of the friends I know and we talk for the short time left before the meeting begins. After the meeting, I am transferred back into a breakout room where I visit with the friends for a short time before saying good bye.
After the meeting, I am sent back into the room where I talk with the friends for a short time and then say good bye for now. I let them know that I will return here on the zoom app for the memorial this coming Friday evening.
Leaving the w-mart, I drive east out of Madison, Alabama on US 72 Alternate, arrive at the Tennessee river and stop at a small island adjacent to the bridge to take some photos. Here, I speak with Dexter, give him my card and he shows me a small monument for the Trail of Tears. Afterwards, I cross the bridge into Decatur, Alabama and stop again at a riverside park for more photos. After talking with several people, I return to the jammer and drive west out of Decatur, still on US 72A and travel across the top of Alabama following the Tennessee river valley all along seeing a line of low elevation mountains not far south of the river valley.
Upon crossing the state line, I stop in Iuka, Mississippi for fuel and ask about access to
Woodall Mountain, if there is a road to the top. I say, I know that it is not very high in elevation but I would like to drive there. The clerk says, It may not be very tall, but is high for around here. When I get directions to this state high point, I drive there, park, sign the register and take photos. Soon another couple arrive, seeking to acquire the high point status and we talk for a short time. I give them one of my cards.
When I drive down off Woodall Mountain, I then continue west on US 72A to Corinth, Mississippi where I stop at d-mart. I do go inside to purchase a bag of organic apples and then park the jammer and climb into the rear for the night.

Awake, take down the window shades and see that it has rained during the night, turn on my computer, connect it to my deep cell bakery and catch up on my journal writing. Then, I drive out of Corinth on US 72A and continue west across the top of the state of Mississippi, which this is my first time crossing at this latitude and find this area to be very much like crossing Tennessee, hills and valleys. I suppose that this area is the foot hills of the Appalachian Mountains.
I continue west onto SH 320 west to Olive Branch, Mississippi, then north on US 51 right past Graceland which has become somewhat of a carnival like I have seen in so many other places. I stop at a couple of parks, however, they are well within the Metropolis of Memphis and the area looks run down. Next, I connect to IH 55 and take this highway across the Mississippi river to Arkansas. I believe that this if the first time that I have crossed the IH 55 bridge over the river. I then connect to IH 40 and continue west into Arkansas, doing the connect to IH 440, then to IH 30 and continue southeast, stopping once in south Little Rock for fuel and a meal at a Cracker Barrel restaurant. After eating, I continue southwest on IH 30, then I take exit 111 onto US 70 west, some twenty-nine miles to SH 7, also known as Central avenue and then drive south to the w-mart.
I pull in to a parking space and put up my window shades, but I do not plug in my extension cord to the pole receptacle because there are two vehicles, one on each side of the pole blocking access and so, I will wait until one moves. Next, I plug in my computer to the inverter, knowing that the deep cell battery is fully charged and I work on my computer until long after sunset. Then, at eight-thirty, one of the vehicles leaves, so I move my van next to the pole and then run my cord to the receptacle. I stay here for another half hour before packing out and driving to the d-mart for the night.
However, I am not able to get to sleep until late.

I awake at the hour that I am accustomed to waking at but my eyes are still heavy, so I lie back down and sleep for a time more. When I do arise, I dress in my summer blues, drive to the w-mart, park one space away from the pole receptacle and then go inside for coffee and hot water. Returning to the jammer, I put up my window shades, connect the dash solar panel, prepare my daystart, set up my computer, plug the computer into the inverter, and then, I begin writing in my journal while eating my breakfast. Too, I check the weather forecast and that there are thundershowers arriving in the late afternoon and warm nights for two nights before dropping back down at night below fifty degrees.
Then, at noon, one of the cars next to the light pole leaves and I take the space, however, since the solar panel is keeping the deep cell battery sufficiently charged, I do not connect to the pole receptacle. Instead, I just monitor the battery control meter to check that the power level remains good.

Overnighting in a parking lot
Interior Highlands Region: Ouachita Mountain Ecoregion
Awake, drive out of the parking lot, then north to US 70 where I turn west and leave Hot Springs to drive to the Talimena Scenic Byway. I continue south west to Glenwood where I turn right onto SH 8 and then drive north west into the Ouachita National Forest. At Norman, Arkansas, where SH 8 turns west, I follow SH 8 to Mena, Arkansas. At first, I want to continue on SH 8 but after a short time, I find out that the Talimena highway follows SH 88 out of Mena. Once I get my head right, I begin the climb up out of Mena on SH 88 and into the thick of the national forest.
Soon, I arrive at a trailhead for the
Ouachita Trail, so I pull off of the highway so that I can take a couple photo of the trail here in Arkansas. A short time after returning to my drive I arrive at Queen Wihelmina state park, turn into the park and drive to the rest room for a hot shower. Once I am clean again, I leave the state park and continue east on SH 88 taking photos of the highway, mountains and scenery. Later, I arrive at the state line and stop at the rest stop where I park to take photos of the sign. Here, I meet Joshua and a conversation ensues, which quickly turns into a Bible discussion. After a time, we both leave the roadside stop and drive about thirteen miles to the campground, claim a campsite and I put the four dollars in the payment envelope.
Once we are settled, I light a charcoal fire, then begin preparing some chopped vegetable wrapped in foil and invite Joshua to join me for supper. He asks if he can help and so I ask him to wrap two apples and put them on the fire. Joshua walks around the campground gathering down wood and begins staking the wood in the fire pit for a fire. When the food is ready, I get out two of my stools, we light the fire, I sit at the table to eat.
Afterwards, we continue to talk about Bible topics until after dark and then because we both are too exhausted to continue, so we each climb into out vehicles for the night. It has become very cold, so I start my engine and let it run until it is warm inside the jammer and then climb into the back to sleep.

Awake, step out of the jammer, and see that Joshua is already awake and out walking about, so, I open the real lift door, get out the cook pot and begin preparing coffee and Daystart. Joshua then walks back into the campsite and I greet him good morning. I ask him if he would like a cup of coffee and he replies yes, so I get out extra cups. I also prepare an extra cup of Daystart for him, which he accepts, eats and reports that it is different than he is used to, however, he eats all of the breakfast
Then, we continue discussing the Bible and like yesterday, he continues to devour every work that I speak, looking up all of the verses that I use as reasoning text. After several hours, I begin to put away all of my gear, clean up the site, and then tell Joshua that I would like to continue out discussion in the future, give him my phone number and ask him to call me. Too, I tell him that I look forward to more of the same in the future.
Then, I drive out of the campground and see a trailhead for the
Ouachita Trail, so I stop here to take a photo of the trail in Oklahoma. I find that there is a backpacking campground with several camp sites and a vault toilet. Then I resume my drive on the Talimena Scenic Byway to the western end of the road path, drive off of the mountain, then south on SH 1 though Talihina, Oklahoma and continue west on SH 1 to SH 2 where I turn south Antlers, Oklahoma, at which time it is completely dark. After I drive through this town, I connect to US 271 and continue driving south through Hugo, then across the Red River into Texas and further south on US 271 to Paris, Texas. Next, I follow US 271 to the east around the loop and exit onto US 82 and pull into the d-mart near the intersection.
Once I have found a good location in the parking lot, one with a portable toilet nearby, I climb into the rear of the jammer for the night.

Too, I update several pages on my website concerning my current travel.
After if becomes dark, I retire to the d-mart, park in the same location next to the portable toilet and climb into the back of the jammer for the night.

Awake, stop in the d-mart for a roll of black duct tape, transmission fluid and windshield washer fluid. Then, I drove out of town, west on US 82 and across the top of Texas to Henrietta, connect with US 287 and continue west to Wichita Falls, Texas where I stop at a w-mart to get online. In the afternoon, I turn of my computer and take a nap, from which I do not rise until about six in the later afternoon. However, I remain in the jammer, turn my computer back on and resume pounding keys to catch up on my journal.
After the w-mart has closed and the dark of night surrounds me, I leave the parking lot, drive to the nearby d-mart, locate a place to park and set up for the night.

Awake late, drive to the w-mart, walk inside for coffee and then return to the jammer to connect to the zoom meeting in Centerville, Tennessee. I give my greetings to sister Mattern and then brother Selesky greets me and asks me where I am at. I tell them that I am crossing the top of Texas, currently in Wichita Falls.
Then, the meeting begins and when it is done, I stay for a visit with the friends, where I find out that Bob and Renee are on vacation in Sarasota, Florida. Also, I get to talk with brother Rainwater, a long time friend who I use to work with when I was living in Tennessee.
After the meeting, I return to my work on the web site and continue until I remember that today is the last day to fill out my annual tax document. So, I go online to the tax preparation site, complete the document, and then save it to a USB thumb drive. After that, I drive to the office store to print the document but find that the store is closed today for the holiday, which I had complete forgot that this holiday was today. I drive back to the d-mart and park for the night.

When, after the sun sets, I drive back to the d-mart, which is actually very nearby, park, read for a while, then at bout eight this evening Joshua calls and we talk for over an hour
I tell him to call me any time, say good bye and then turn of my electronics and get into the horizontal for the night.

Awake, dress in my fall blues, drive out of the parking lot to the highway intersection and then drive south on US 281 for three miles and turn left on SH FM 1954 another seven miles to
Lake Arrowhead state park. Here, I obtain a day pass, drive to the only shower house, gather my shower bag, towel and clean clothes and walk inside for some steamy hot water.
The single rest rooms and shower house building, although located in the center of the camping area is not located near any particular campsites but is a good walk from all of the sites, making it necessary to drive to the building from most all of the campsites. I prefer having a site next to or across the road from the restroom building, therefore because of this layout, I will definitely not be retuning to camp here. I pack out of the park, drive back to the w-mart, go inside and spend the rest of the day pounding keys.
In the late afternoon, the sky darkens and then there is a downpour with flashes of lightning. By seven the rain has moved out of the area and all of the concrete outside dries up, but the sky remains filled with thick clouds. Then, at about eight-thirty, after the sky becoming dark, I pack out of the cafe, drive the one hundred yards to the d-mart and park here for another night.

Awake, drive to the front door of the d-mart and park, walk inside to use the mens room and to buy some avocados, coconut milk, crackers and napkins. Then, I drive out of town on US 287 and head west to Vernon where I turn left onto US 70, then right SH 98 and again right on SH 6 and drive to
Copper Breaks State Park, acquire a day pass and then go to the rest room for a hot shower and again, it is steamy hot. Afterwards, I continue north on SH 6 to Quanah, Texas and reconnect to US 287 and continue my drive west. Upon arriving in Claude, Texas, I turn left and then a quick right onto SH FM 1151 where I continue westward. After nearly twenty miles I arrive SH Loop 335, turn west and just before arriving at IH 27, I turn into the parking lot at the w-mart and find a place to park and spend the rest of the day in the jammer.
Then, after dark, I move to a place on a nearby road to overnight.

Awake, start the jammer, drive to the w-mart and go inside with my computer bag to acquire my morning cup of hot coffee. I spend the entire day here pounding on the keys until about five in the afternoon, when I stop that and begin preparing for the meeting this evening.
Then, a few minutes before seven this evening, while still in the w-mart which stays open until ten each night, I connect to the Centerville congregation using my zoom app and the instruction begins. After the meeting, I am put in a breakout room where I talk for some time with several of my friends including David, his mom Glenda and others. Then, Marvin comes back on to tell us that the meeting will be ending and we all thank him and say good bye.
After the meeting, I stay in the w-mart for a while longer, mostly just playing solitaire, after which I pack out return to the jammer and drive back to the roadside parking

Overnighting at roadside parking
Awake, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I spent the entire day inside because outside the windstorm continues to wage war against north Texas. Too, the amount of dust that rises due to this wind is incredible, so much that a lot of the dust has found its way inside the vehicle and coated everything in the jammer.
It is not until after the sun sets when I pack out, drive to the location where I have been overnighting and park for the night.
(Day 341 TN) 55°F. 9:30 am, windy
Journey On, Day 67
Overnighting at roadside parking
Awake, start the jammer engine, drive to the af-mart to dump my trash and clean the outside of my windshield. Then, when trying to restart the jammer, the starter just spins, like there is no fuel getting to the intake. After trying several times without sues, I then push the jammer out of the way of the pumps to an area for parking where I try to start it again. When I try again to start the engine, I hear a slight sputter, so I repeat trying to start the engine and this time it fires up. I then drive to the w-mart, park the jammer, collect my computer bag and such, walk inside and set up at a table which has access to an electric receptacle.
Upon thinking about why the jammer engine acted the way that it did, methinks it could be one of several possibilities. First, the fuel pump is starting to fail. Second, the ignition coil could be the culprit. I hope that the problem is the coil because that will be the easiest to replace, but I will keep thinking about this and try to reason on what is the part that could be failing.
Then, the man at the next table says, Good Morning, Thom, to which I look up and reply in kind. I recognize him from our conversation yesterday but do not remember his name, but I do continue to speak to him and quickly steer the conversation to the Bible and ask Are you a Bible reader? to which he replies yes. I then tell him that I have forgot his name and he says, It′s Cody. We then discuss the topic of the paradise earth using Matthew 5:5, Psalms 37:11; 29, a topic that I use often to show about the hope that I have for the future. He then pack out and leaves the cafe, so I purchase a cup of coffee, sit down at my computer and begin pounding keys.
I continue here in this w-mart until dark, then pack out and drive north on the feeder road of the interstate highway to the next underpass, turn left onto Bell Street and drive north until I arrive at SW 45th Avenue. Here I stop at a Wienerschnitzel to purchase my supper of two Polish sausage sandwiches and sit in the parking lot to eat. After eating, I then drive west on 45th avenue to Coulter street where I turn into the d-mart and find a place to park for the night.
Too, I am glad that the windstorm has abated for now.

He asks me when I will be arriving in Colorado, either in one week, two weeks or longer, to which I answer, Yes. As I always have done since I began my migrating some 13 years ago, I do not plan my route with a time schedule. Gordon, like very many of my friends know this, so he was not offended by my answer but just laughed. I did comment to him that more than likely, I will be there during the second weekend, and spoke to him the 14th of May 2022.
Afterwards, I grab my computer bag and walk inside the cafe to sit in the air condition building, because the daytime temper are already getting into the high 80s. The only reason that I am staying here in the top of Texas is that the night time temperature is still dropping into the fifties, which as long as I have these two things, (1) air conditioned cafe and (2) cool nights, I will continue in this location. There is one other plus by staying here, there is a hot shower in the state park about ten miles south of here.
Then, at a few minutes before seven this evening, I connect to the Centerville, Tennessee meeting using the zoom app and stay on for a short time after the meeting to visit with the friends. Awake, dress in my fall blues and drive south back to the SH 335 loop, then east to IH 27 and drive south to exit 106 where I leave the IH and turn east on SH 217. From here, I drive to
Palo Duro Canyon State Park for a hot shower and to change into clean clothes. After my shower at the Mesquite camp area which only today I have found has steamy hot water. I drive the rest of the campground loop to check out the last shower house, which is in the Juniper camp area and even though it is a new shower house with all the latest features, the water is not steamy hot, instead it is just warm and will not return here in the future. Too, in the parking lot, I meet a group of fire fighters who are visiting the campground on their day off and talk with several who say that they are helping with the ongoing wildfires it Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Then, I leave the park, drive back to Canyon, Texas and continue west on SH 217 until it connects with US 60. Here, I turn left and drive across the Texas high desert heading towards Clovis, New Mexico wanting to stop there for the night.
Upon arriving in Clovis, I do stop at a bank to withdraw some of this months deposit but do not find a w-mart where I can go inside to sit at a table and pound keys. So, I decide to next go to the
Montezuma Hot Springs where I can soak in the hot water. Upon arriving in Fort Sumner, I turn north on US 84 to Santa Rosa, the west a short distance on IH 40 and then north again on US 84. All along this north section of US 84, I see smoke to the north but still continue to northward. Then, I arrive at IH 25 and turn north driving to Las Vegas, New Mexico where I exit and drive into town to purchase some fuel. While at the af-mart, I talk to a woman who tells me that SH 65 to the hot spring and college is closed and that she is an evacuee from her home because of the fire.

I drive to a Mexican restaurant for a grilled salmon meal, after which I return to the parking lot where I have been overnighting and prepare for me evening.

Awake, dress in my Sunday blues, then walk into the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. Once I have my first cup in my hand, I begin preparing for the meeting later this morning, studying the article in the Watchtower magazine which is about putting off the old personality and putting on the new personality, which study has and will help me to prevent characteristics of the old personality from reappearing. Soon, I connect to the Centerville congregation which is now one hour behind me from the time zone and that means that I now just need to connect an hour sooner. After the meeting, I visit with some of the friends in the breakout room until Marvin, the door keeper tells us that he is locking the door to the hall. We all say goodbye and disconnect.
After packing out of the w-mart, I return to the jammer, and drive south to SH 584, then west across the Rio Grande river to US 84 where I turn north out of Espanola, New Mexico, past the
Ohkay Owingeh reservation where in the Rio Chama river joins the Rio Grande river and continue north on US 84 which follows the
Rio Chama crossing it once before coming to the high overlook of the river bend just after it comes out of the Abiquiu Reservoir, which body of water is so very low now.
Continuing north on US 84 in New Mexico, I drive through the narrow northeast extension of the
Colorado Plateau Ecoregion, an area that reaches up into south central Colorado and one that is surrounded by the Rocky Mountains of the
Southern Rockies Ecoregion on both the east and west sides. The elevation of this area began in Espanola at over 5600 feet and continues to rise upwards to about 8000 feet as I approach the Colorado state line. This part of the Colorado Plateau is also known as the San Luis Valley where the headwaters of the Rio Grande River (coming down from the San Juan Mountains near Silverton, Colorado) arrive at the high elevation farm land and wind across south central Colorado and then south into New Mexico. Today, I have made a wide swath across much of this area.
Once I arrive in Colorado, I continue north on US 84 until I reach US 160 where I turn west and drive to Pagosa Springs so that I might take advantage of the free hot water spring adjacent to the San Juan river in town. When I arrive at the parking lot, I walk to the
Hippy Dip pools and find it to be complete flooded by the river. So, I choose not to stay and then drive east on US 160 out of Pagosa Springs and up into the San Juan Mountain towards Wolf Creek Pass. The drive first takes me along the
San Juan river at first but soon, it veers to the south and the highway then continues upward along Wolf Creek where I stop at
Treasure Falls for a couple of photos.

Journey On, Day 85
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake to a very comfortable morning, dress in my fall blues, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. This is the third day that I have been here and I must say that both the d-mart and the w-mart are the best, that is for a traveler. The d-mart has been loaded with all different kinds of overnighters each night and most leave out early in the morning. At the w-mart, most of the baristas already call me by my first name and even know what I want when I walk up to the counter.
Upon arriving, I take my regular seat, one next to a wall outlet, I plug in, start my computer and begin writing journal entries. Then, I receive an email from an old friend who tells me about what is happening with her and some problems with her non witness family, and then asks how I am doing. I tell her that I am doing fine but as for my siblings who are not witnesses, I say, As for my fleshly relatives, there are none who serve Jehovah and due to the way they regularly respond to me when I speak to them of Him, it does not look like any will survive Jehovah's Day. Nevertheless, I don′t need, nor desire to be close to my fleshly family, who are so worldly, some of whom are all so tattooed up, some of whom some have pink and purple hair and most all of whom serve the God of Self-centeredness, because I have a real family of friends that I know who will always be close and loving to me, who will be my friends forever and who will serve and please the true God whom I serve, Jehovah. Her response to the above was that she really appreciated my words about not needing or desiring to be close to very worldly family members.
Simply put, although I still do love my fleshly family, and I still will respond to them when they make the effort to contact me and I will continue to want what is best for them. However, their repeated choice to refuse any Bible hope that I tell them about will continue to alienate them from me and the path in my life which I have chosen.
Later in the day, after dark, I pack out of the cafe, drive to the d-mart to park for the night.

Awake, dress, drive to the w-mart, coffee, com, computer. I continue here in the cafe for the entire day working on my website upgrade. I do receive a text from David letting me know that he has begun his final round of cancer treatment. I comment, Won′t you be glad when it is all done? to which he respond Yes.
Then at six this evening, I connect to the Centerville congregation for the midweek meeting just in time for the start. I had forgot again about my time zone change and right after connecting, I go into my phone app and reset the alarm for an earlier time. After the meeting, I visit for a short time before I pack out of the cafe and head to the place to park for the night.

Awake to a very cold night, in fact, I had to add a second blanket earlier this morning due to the temperature dropping into the upper 20s. However, with the addition of my wool blanket, I slept quite well. Arise, dress in my fall blues and drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer. I have searched for hot springs in the area and have found one that I believe is open today, called them, left a message and hope that I can get into the hot water today. While I wait for the return call, I will continue pounding keys to work on my website update.
I am able to complete the Appalachian Mountains Region page and then, a woman, Lynn calls me back to tell me that the hot spring pools are open and welcomes me to come for a soak. I pack out and drive east through town on US 160, cross the
Rio Grande River and when I arrive at SH 17, I turn north and drive out of Alamosa and drive for about fifty miles

Overnighting in a parking lot
Coordinates: 40.4170824, -104.994822

Awake, drive west on US 34 to US 287 where there is a hf-mart to buy some vegetables and see Gordon inside. After we both finish shopping, we next meet at the d-mart to both fill our gas tanks and to shop for a few more items in the store. Finally, we drive north, with me following him, on a few back county roads away for the cities up to when we arrive back on US 287 and continue to Livermore, Colorado. Here, we turn left onto CR 74E and drive west to Read Feather Lakes, drive right past the village and then turn left on CR 86. We continue west past FR 502, where we have been camping for the last several years and stop at the next turnout to a suitable location.
All along this route from the first hf-mart, Gordon and I drive a total of about sixty miles to where we finally stop to make camp and all along the way, especially after we turn off of US 287, I notice that the evergreen forest is dying due to not having enough water. True, there are some green trees but much of the evergreen are turning brown and some have already lost their foliage. This is truly a sad state of affairs for this world, especially because those who rule the nations can do nothing but sit and watch the demise of this continent and it turns into a desert.
After we park out vehicles, we get out to survey the campsite and both of us say, This is really dry. However, because we know that the entire western part of the continent is really dry, we decide to make camp here.
The first thing I do is to get out my floor jack and jack stand so that we can lift Gordon′s front wheels up and replace the brake pads. Gordon has never done brakes for his Aerostar before, so I direct him through the process, helping him go through the steps. After the drivers side is complete and the wheel nuts are tightened, we then repeat for the passenger side. It takes from about two to three hours to finish and then we start putting the tools away. After my tools are stowed, I then begin my evening meal preparations, which is some rice and quinoa, chopped vegetables, spices, seaweed, and some of my golden milk powder. After it is cooked, I begin to eat but it does not have the yummy flavor that I was hoping for and do not much of the soup. I will try to eat more of it tomorrow for lunch.
Afterwards, I clean up my cook pot and then put away all of my gear back into their place. About six this evening, a dark cloud blows over, drops the temperature several degrees and it begins to sprinkle lightly, then a little harder, so both of us retreat to the inside of each of our vans. An hour later, the rain, which did not really amount to much is totally gone and the sun is back out shining brightly, so I step outside with my camera to photograph this campsite
Then, as the daylight fades, I get into the horizontal for the night and watch some of latest video of the recent circuit assembly, but I can only stay up to watch about half an hour before I turn off the electronics and close my eyes.

Awake this morning to a comfortable temperature, rise, open the jammer and begin preparing my morning meal, a cup of hot coffee, cup of tea and a cup of Daystart, which does not take long to make. Right away, the
Rufous hummingbirds that had showed up yesterday, return for some breakfast. I work at taking a few photos, but the light and the angle do not make for good photos. Still, I get a few new photos for the gallery.
After eating, I put away my cook pot and then begin working on changing my tire. First, I remove the tire from the roof by disconnecting the four nylon cords. After I pull the wheel off of the roof, I then take all the knots out of the nylon cords and wash them in a bucket of water. Then, I let the cords dry before I begin to reassemble my roof rope tire rack. I try to implement the new design that I have been working on in my mind for the last several months, but as I begin to install the cords, I realize that I must needs tie the four cords together first. So, I remove all the cords and begin to tie them on the ground while sitting on a bench

So, I remove all the cords and begin to tie them on the ground while sitting on a bench and in a short time, I have a working harness for the new tire roof rack. I tell Gordon that I think that this harness could work but I need to install it first and ask him to help me to tighten the cords. Once the harness is installed, then he lifts the spare tire onto the roof and I then tie it down.
By installing this harness and then attaching the tire to it is something that will keep me from spending such a long time pulling the spare down and reattaching it to the roof. Previously, pulling the tire down would take me over an hour or more like one and a half, where as now I believe it will just take about ten or fifteen minutes.
Again, tonight at six, dark clouds blow over, there are some peals of thunder and then it begins to rain like last evening, however, like yesterday, there is not too much perception before the clouds leave out of the area and the sunshine breaks through and it travels to the horizon. Too, like yesterday, the temperature drops as the sun sets, tonight, quickly into the 40s. After the rain, at out seven this evening, I turn on my jammer engine for some warmth and to keep the deep cell battery charging. Later, I turn off the engine and get into the horizontal to watch some more of the assembly video.

Journey On, Day 92
Red Feather Lakes NF Dispersed Camping

Awake this morning to a comfortable temperature and begin my morning meal preparations. Soon, Gordon is up and we sit in camp for some time discussing the upcoming winter storm which I have learned about through the weather app that I have on my phone. This storm will arrive Thursday evening drop the temperatures to the mid forties during the day and the low twenties during the night, together with up to two feet of snow and forty plus mile per hour wind. We decided to drive back to Loveland to stay for the duration of the storm.
I then start a fire in the fireplace Gordon built, prepare a foil wrap of fresh cut vegetables and when the fire is a perfect bed of charcoal I place the two foil wraps on the coals to cook. As we are sitting in camp waiting for my supper, Gordon asks, If you are eating only vegetable, where do you get your protein? I reply, So, there is not protein in vegetable? to which he reply, No. Ok, I say, and then turn to my computer and ask, Google, How much protein in Collard Greens? Google replies: 1.1 grams per serving. How much protein in sweet potatoes? The reply: 2.1 gram. How much protein in Celery? .7 gram. How much protein in yellow onions? .8 gram. How much protein in green onion? .3 grams. How much protein in mushrooms? 3.8 grams. I turn to look at Gordon again and say to him, Well, that already adds up to over eight grams, and if I was to add any type of bean, the total would double bringing my meal up to sixteen grams of protein. The average minimum daily requirement for an adult is about 50 grams per day. However, that actual daily amount would depend on the factors of age, sex, weight and activity level. Gordon say, Hmm.
I then walk to the fire pit, check the vegetable foil wraps to find them ready to eat, grab my leather gloves and retrieve the wraps and sit down to enjoy my meal. While we sit there, I tell Gordon, I am not a vegetarian, I do occasionally eat meat, but my preferences is pasture grown and wild caught, if it is my choice, I never select anything that is feed lot raised, farmed, or any other food manufacturer that uses any GMO product.
Once I have finished my meal, put away the kitchen, put up my solar panels, closed up the jammer, and we drive out of the campsite down through Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, down off the Front Range of the
Southern Rockies in the
Rocky Mountains, and then south across the Great Plains to the Colorado city of Loveland. We both stop at the d-mart and park for the night. It is very much warmer here in the plains, at an elevation of just under 5000 feet.
Gordon leads the way into town and drives first to a chain restaurant for both of us to eat our supper, where I have a grilled fish with asparagus and a salad. Afterwards, Gordon brings the check to the register and pays for both meals while I get the tip. I thank him and then we head to our next stop, the parking lot of the d-mart.
As we sit in our vehicles, I acknowledge that the noise level is so much higher here than on the mountain. Further, there is even less here when compared to being on the mountain where we were spend time imitating bird calls, feel the wind blow down from the trees, cook a meal on a fresh bed of coals in the fire pit and do not have to put up with the stink of people smoking cigarettes. Yes, not only is life easier on the mountain, but the quality of life there upon is astonishingly better.
I climb into the back of the jammer, get under the blanket and close my eyes.

Awake, dress, drive to the side of the d-mart to the auto tire department to purchase two tires for the front of the jammer and end up becoming involved in complaint to the store manager about the bad treatment and disrespect to my vehicle that I was given by the tire service department manager as well as the technicians.
I told the store manager, I had said to the tire service manager, "Please, do not to lift my vehicle by the body", but use a floor jack and lift my van by the manufactures recommended lift points, because lifting by the body at the crimp seam will damage to my van. Then, the service manager tells me We know what we are doing. So, I then say to the service manager, If you do lift my vehicle by the body and damage it, then Walmart will have to pay to have the damage repaired. The service manager, Kyle then immediately replies to me, Yes, I know that. So, I walk back to the customer area.
Then, as I stood their watching, they set the body lift jack and began to lift my van. I was furious because right after I told them not to lift my vehicle by the body, they did it anyway, which later, when I looked under the van, had bent not only the crimp joint in four places but also bend the body inward above the crimp joint.
I walked out to my van and in a loud voice, told them to stop working, take my van down off of that body rack. I then told the service manager in the same loud voice, You have damaged my vehicle! and his reply was, The crimp seam is designed to be bent. I told him No, it is not, and I had asked you not to damage my vehicle by lifting it that way. He replied again, The crimp seam is designed to be bent. I repeated in my loud voice, Cancel the work and take my vehicle of the rack.
I then asked the service manager to call the store manager and tell him that I want to talk with him. The service manager, Kyle, replied, You call him yourself! I went to the front and asked the cashier in a calm voice how to contact the store manager and she gave me a number to call. I called the number and began the process of reporting the incident to the representative on the phone. After my report, I was told that the store manager would call me back soon.
Meanwhile, the technicians had taken my vehicle off of the body lift rack and put it outside of the work bay. I walked to the jammer and began the task of putting my spare back on the roof and to attach it to the harness. Then, Kyle approached me and asked me if I would go and get an estimate for the damage done by his shop, or how much I thought it would cost to repair the damage. I told him that I did not know. He then asked me, What do you want me to do? I said, I came here to have two tires put on my van and asked you to use a floor jack, not the body lift. He said, We can do that. Then, I said to Kyle, As for the damage to my van, I will forgo this shop′s responsibility if you will give the tires to me free of charge. Kyle thought for a minute, and then said, I will do that.
After the shop installed the tires, I went with Kyle to the register and of the original cost of $210.00, I was only charged for the hazard warranty and lifetime balance which amounted to $50.00. The cost of the two tires in the amount of $160.00 was waived. While I drive away from this shop, methinks, I will never come to this store for tires again.
Then, I drive to the recreational center that Gordon had shown me yesterday, parked, gathered up my towel, clean clothes and walked inside. I then paid the senior fee of $5.25 for a one day pass and walk into the men′s dressing room where I have access to the hot shower. Just before I begin, the phone rings and when I answer, I find it is the store manager from the d-mart where I had just purchased my two new tires. I tell him my story and tell him how bad the attitude was of the tire department, how the female technician yelled at me, Who are you to tell us how to do our work! and how the service manager kept repeating to me The crimp seam is designed to be bent when lifting the car! Further, I tell the store manager that I explicitly told the service manager that I did not want my vehicle lifted on the body jack, that I wanted the floor jack to be used, and how they used the body jack despite my request not to.
The store manager tells me that I was correct to be angry because the store employees should have done the work exactly as I had requested. He said that using a floor jack is a service that the shop provides and it should never have been done otherwise. He also tells me that he will be having a meeting with the tire department employees to assure that what happened to me will never happen again. I thank him and tell him good bye.
I then walk into the shower area and take a hot shower after which, I don clean clothes, gather my belongings and return to the jammer. From the recreation center, I drive back to the d-mart and park in the shade and prepare for the meeting tonight. When it begins, I connect and enjoy being back with the friends in Centerville, Tennessee and after the meeting, connect with David and his mother in the breakout room to visit for a time longer. After the zoom connection ends, I drive to the hospital parking lot where Gordon is already parked, pull up next to him, get into the rear of the jammer and get ready for the evening.
With the temperature dropping rapidly, we do not open our windows to talk but we do connect on the phone for a short time and then I get into the horizontal.
Methinks, I could have done better and not have lost my temper today, so I will pray for more of Jehovah′s Holy Spirit.

I then await here until someone else to arrive and then for a short time before the meeting begins, we talk. Soon, the meeting begins and in no time, we say the last prayer and get sent back to our rooms.
One sister asks me a couple questions about supplements and I help here to get some sense in how to understand the word on the side of the bottles. Soon, we all bid farewell and I next return to pounding keys here in the w-mart, continuing until after dark again. I do text my friend David in Tennessee to see how he is doing because I did not get to talk with him after the meeting in the breakout room. He tells me that he fell asleep. Then, at eight this morning, I begin working in the letter writing ministry and later contact Joshua on my phone text app, during which I hope that I have helped him see that his Jehovah has not caused any of his suffering.
Next, at about noon, I resume my work on the website upgrade and continue until it becomes dark outside when I pack out of the w-mart, drive to the d-mart and park for another night.

Awake, drive to the w-mart, go inside for coffee, com and computer. Today I also spend some time working on the letter writing ministry.
When the sun sets, I pack out, drive to the d-mart, park and go inside for some groceries and then return to the jammer to rest for another night.
(Day 377 TN) 47°F. 7:30 am, sunny, cloudy
Journey On, Day 103
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, drive to the w-mart and begin studying for the meeting later this morning. Then, shortly before nine this morning, I connect to the Centerville, Tennessee congregation meeting. After the meeting, I stay for a short time to talk with some of the friends.
Later, I begin to catch up on my journal writing until about noon when I pack out, drive back down Grand Avenue to IH 80, turn right and then drive west on this interstate for just over eighty miles where I exit 235 and turn south on SH 130, drive twenty-one miles to Saratoga, then left on Walnut street to the end of the street and stop at the Hobo hot springs. I then get out a clean change of clothes, my towel, my shower bag and then walk to the rear of the swimming pool facility where the hot springs is located. Upon arriving, I see that the hot springs is packed with people, more so than I have ever seen it before. It is at this point that I decide not to get into the hot spring water but just to use the hot shower facility to put on the clean.
Once, I finish the hot shower, I then take a couple of photos of the carnival that this hot spring has become, well, at least today, as I have never been here and seen this many people soaking. I am just so glad that this location has a free hot shower as well. I then pack out of the Hobo hot springs, walk back to the jammer and drive out of Saratoga north on SH 130, back to IH 80, and then continue west for another one hundred and thirty miles, a drive of about two more hours during which I drive across the continental divide in the
Southern Rockies Ecoregion
Upon arriving in Rock Springs, I stop at a Mexican restaurant for a plate of chicken, with beans and rice and a salad. After this meal, I tell myself, Wow, that was too much to eat, do not do that again. I then drive under the interstate to the d-mart, park in the outer edge of the parking lot, climb into the back of the jammer and watch the last talk of the recent circuit assembly. Afterwards, I turn of my electronics and close my eyes.

Elevation: 6261 feet
Awake to a cold morning, however, not a bitterly cold one, and sleep comfortable because I have learned long ago how to sleep comfortably during cold nights. Still, I currently draw a limit as to how cold I will let it drop during the night, even returning to the south if I see the forecast showing temperatures at freezing and lower. Happily, that did not happen during my move from the mile high city region in Colorado into the
Wyoming Basin ecoregion. However, my next move on my migration north, which will be my move into the Yellowstone region, may be somewhat early because the area is still experiencing freezing nights. I will stay here in Rock Springs for a few days and may even move next instead to Thermopolis, Wyoming.
I drive to the w-mart, park the jammer, walk inside and purchase a cup of coffee, check my com and then begin pounding keys and continue until it is near to day′s end. Finally, I drive to the d-mart, park, climb into the rear and continue to watch the video of the current circuit assembly.
Finally, I turn off my electronics, turn over and close my eyes.
(Day 379 TN) 39°F. 7:30 am, rain
Journey On, Day 105
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress in my fall blues, drive to the w-mart, park, carry my computer bag inside, purchase a cup of coffee and begin writing letters for sending to people to tell them about the soon to arrive paradise. It is amazing to Them how much I am encouraged by telling others about my hope for the future and doing so just by writing letters. After do this for several hours, I then put away my paper and pen and then take up pounding the keyboard.
After working on my website until about five this afternoon, I then pack out to drive to a parking lot where I can change into my meeting clothes and while I am there, I see a very bright rainbow. It is a
primary rainbow and at one point, it is nearly full across the sky but does not connect at the top. Looking about, I see no people but I do see several swallows sailing about on their hunt for insects and then a robin flits by and lands on a wooden fence post. I spend several minutes taking photos of the rainbow, but then I put my camera away and go back to donning my meeting clothes.
Then, I drive to the hall, walk inside and begin greeting the friends, one of which calls me by name, a brother named Mike. Too, after the meeting, I visit for a while before I leave and drive back to the d-mart where I spend the night.
(Day 380 TN) 38°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Journey On, Day 106
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, drive to the w-mart, coffee, com and computer. Today is just one more day that I am waiting to travel further north but do not because the temperature here is very comfortable, too nice to move.
(Day 381 TN) 45°F. 7:30 am, sunny
Journey On, Day 107
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, drive to the w-mart and park, carry my computer bag in and set up at the same table I have been sitting at since arriving at this w-mart. Then, after I begin my journal entry, I step up to the counter to purchase coffee, and finally, sit down and continue pounding keys.
(Day 382 TN) 45°F. 7:30 am, sunny

Awaken by my alarm, rise, dress in my fall blues, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer.
I continue pounding keys moat all day, working on updating my hot springs index

Journey On, Day 109
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress in my fall blues, drive to the w-mart, coffee, com and then computer.
Then at the end of this day, I drive to the d-mart to park and climb into the rear of the jammer and methinks, tonight will be last one that I spend here at this wayside as in the morning, after the meeting, I will resume my migration north.
(Day 384 TN) 46°F. 7:30 am, sunny
Journey On, Day 110
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress in my go to meeting blues, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer, where I prepare for the study this morning. Then, at nine-forty, I connect to the Rock Springs congregation using my zoom app.
After the meeting ends, I drive to a af-mart to fill my gasoline tank and to check my radiator fluid on to find it needing four liters of water.
Next, I pack out of af-mart and drive north on US 191 to Farson, Wyoming and turn east on SH 28 over South Pass on the continental Divide. Then, I drive further east on SH 28 down the other side to US 287, where I turn north to Lander and then northeast on SH 789 to Riverton, Wyoming where I cross first the Little Wind River and soon after the Wind River which join to continue north as Bighorn river.
Soon, after, driving into Riverton, I connect to US 26, continue north into town and drive to the d-mart, park, and climb into the rear of the jammer for the evening. I thank Jehovah for helping me overcome my fears of having a cooling system breakdown on this leg of my migration north and for helping that not to happen.

Journey On, Day 111
Overnighting in a parking lot
Coordinates: 43.043392, -108.380209
Elevation: 4949 feet
Awake before my alarm, step outside to open the hood and check the radiator fluid only to find it still full. Then, I drive to a af-mart to top off the gas tank, grab a cup of coffee and then drive northeast out of Riverton, Wyoming on US 26 and in sixteen miles arrive Boysen reservoir, which I cross, continue east to Shoshoni, Here, I leave US 26 and turn left onto US 29 and continue north along the east side of the reservoir to the north end and the dam. After driving past the dam, I then continue through a deep canyon with the Bighorn river flowing north just to my left and through three tunnels. I continue along the right side until I have drive a total of fourteen miles and come out of the canyon to where the land is much flatter and at about when the Bighorn river crosses under US 20.
With the Bighorn river now on the east side of US 20, I continue north on the highway the rest of the way to Thermopolis, Wyoming and after driving another few miles, I cross another bridge over the Bighorn river, this one into
Thermopolis Hot Springs State Park. I then drive to the Hot Springs Bath House, park, get out my towel, a change of clean clothes and then walk into the bath house.
After I stay nearly an hour in the pools, showers and dressing rooms, I pack out, walk back out to the jammer and then begin to explore the state park, driving first to the Big Spring to take a couple of photos. Next, I drive to the boat ramp which is located directly in front of the travertine overflow into the river. This is an interesting location. Finally, I drive out of Hot Springs state park and northwest out of town on SH 120, which is a highway that I have never driven. I arrive in Cody, Wyoming in th early afternoon and I stop at the d-mart and find a shady spot to park for the night.
(Day 386 TN) 4950°F. 7:00 am, overcast
Journey On, Day 112
Overnighting in a parking lot
Middle Rockies Ecosystem
Awake, dress in my fall blues, drive closer to the d-mart, park and then walk inside to buy some vegetables and a new pair of sunglasses. After paying for my purchases, I walk back to the jammer, stow my food and then drive out of the parking lot and west on US 20 and along the Shoshone river canyon (a tributary of the Bighorn river which flows into the Yellowstone river.) Once I leave town, I enter the Shoshone canyon and drive up to the Buffalo Bill dam which coming out of this lake is both the North Fork and South Fork of the Shoshone rivers. I continue west on US 20 and it follows the North Fork to almost all the way to the east entrance of the Yellowstone park.
After I show the ranger my pass, I then continue into the park up and over the Absaroka Range at Sylvan Pass (8530 feet) which except for the roadway is still covered with several feet of snow. As I continue into the park, I descend over seven hundred feet where the highway brings me to
Yellowstone Lake, which when I arrive at the first overlook, I enter the
Yellowstone Caldera. I continue driving west on US 20 until I arrive at the Grand Loop road and turn south along the west side of Yellowstone lake to West Thumb junction where I turn right, follow the Grand Loop and now am driving on US 89 north. Not long after that, I exit on to the Old Faithful road and drive to the service station where I remover the radiator cap and refill the radiator with fluid. I also purchase a cup of coffee and then drive to the
Old Faithful inn to find a place to park for the night.
I stay in the jammer and use the charged batteries to work on my computer to up date the pages on my web site. Then, when the sun sets, I turn off the computer and then walk inside to work the crowd, giving my card to whom ever I can strike up a conversation with. At about nine-thirty, I walk up to the second floor to sit and listen to Martha play on the piano until ten when she pack out. I talk with Al, who has come to help her with the baggage. Afterwards, I walk back out to th jammer, climb in and get into the horizontal to sleep.
Strange dreams during this night.
(Day 387 TN) 29°F. 6:15 am, sunny
Journey On, Day 113
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress in my winter blues, and walk inside for breakfast but the line is backed up to the front door, so I go upstairs, plug in my computer and begin my journal entry for today. Once the restaurant opens, within fifteen minutes, the line has been seated and I then put my computer back into the bag and walk down for something to eat. I have the breakfast buffet which went up from thirteen dollars to sixteen dollars. Methinks, this is alright as long as I only do this once a year. Tomorrow morning, I will have my Daystart.
Next, I return to the second floor and resume pounding keys on the computer, but I can not check my com because there is no WiFi, nor is there any signal on my phone. So, I will try to concentrate on pounding keys to update more web pages. Ruth, the tour guide conducts tours all afternoon, and one of her stops is on the second floor overlooking the main floor area right near to where I have been sitting and working on my computer. One of her comments in her discussion is that the rest room on the second floor, with the toilets and showers is a public restroom. Methinks, this means, well according to the tour guide Ruth, the showers are free for the public to use.
In the early evening, Martha, the one who plays the piano and cello arrives, set up, and begins to make some very enjoyable music for everyone sitting at the tables on three floors and listening to Martha′s music. Methinks, from six this evening until ten this evening, most all of the guests of the inn are sitting in the lobby, drinking alcoholic drinks and enjoying their families and the music. There are no televisions in the Old Faithful Inn, no WiFi, and nearly not any phone signal. I have no signal, but I have talked with a few who tell me that they have a weak signal, but it works ok. At a sofa close by, there is a family of two children and their grand parents and the young boy, who tells me that his name is Summit, greets me and begins talking to me. After we have been talking for a short time, his grandfather walk over to me and ask, Is Summit bothering you? I answer, no, not at all, in fact I enjoy visiting with him. We talk for some time longer before he leaves to go back to sit with his family.
At ten this evening, Martha begins to pack up her equipment so I walk over to where she is and thank her for such a great musical ensemble. She even played my request of Piano Man by Billy Joel. Then, I too began to pack out and return to the jammer in the parking lot. I then got into the rear of the jammer and got into the horizontal to sleep for the night.

Awake, dress in my fall blues, grab my shower bag and walk inside the inn, then up to the second floor and walk down the hall to the mens room to take a hot shower. Afterwards, I walk back to the jammer, open the hood to check the fluid level in the radiator, then start the engine, drive out of the Old Faithful Inn parking lot and then north on US 191, the Grand Loop up to the Madison Junction and here I turn left and continuing west on US 191 to West Yellowstone, Montana. I stop at several places for photos but like during many recent times that I have visited this park, I see that this visit is just as very crowded, with long lines of cars entering as I make my way out of the park. In fact, when I pass the West Yellowstone entrance gate, the cars are backed up all the way into town and then for several blocks north on US 191.
I continue north on US 191 cross the Madison river one more time, then over a pass near Divide Lake with an elevation of 7300 feet. After summiting the pass, I then come along the Gallatin river and follow it as it flows north downstream. After some time, I enter the Gallatin river canyon and begin taking photos of the
hoodoos along each side. Later, I arrive at the Gallatin river gateway, leave the canyon and enter the large flat river valley. Continuing north on US 191, I arrive at Four Corners, Montana, turn right and continue east on US 191 for several more miles to Bozeman where I stop for something to eat, after which, I drive to the w-mart, park and take a nap for a couple of hours.
When I awake, I grab my computer bag and walk inside the w-mart to get online and to connect to the Centerville congregation with my zoom app. It is six this evening when the meeting begins and I visit with the friends both before and after the meeting.
Finally, I leave the w-mart, drive to the d-mart and park for the evening.

Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress in fall blues, drive to the w-mart, coffee, com, computer. After I start my journal entry, I then begin my study for the meeting. Soon after, I connect to the Centerville meeting with zoom and I visit with some of my very best friends, friends that I have been acquainted with for nearly forty years.
Soon, the meeting begins and the talk is discussing how Jehovah is love and how he searches hearts so that he can find those who wish to love him and how, when we come to know him, we should be imitators of Him as beloved children. After the meeting, I stay in the zoom room to visit with my friends for a time longer. After that, I return to pounding keys on the pages of my website until evening. I rains several times today and remains cloudy with fog enshrouding the mountains all day.
Leaving the w-mart, I travel on my regular route to the d-mart, park, and climb into the rear to prepare for the night.
(Day 392 TN) 38°F. 7:00 am, sunny
Journey On, Day 118
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, dress in my fall blues, walk into the d-mart for some distilled water but there is none on the shelf, so I purchase two gallon bottles of spring water. Then, I drive to the w-mart, carry my computer bag inside and set it at the same table that I have been using since arriving here. I walk up to the counter and use my rewards to purchase a cup of coffee. Then, I sit down at the table and begin to pound keys. Looking outside, I see that the weather has not change from yesterday, as it is still overcast with the mountains enveloped with clouds.
The day crawls slowly to its end and then the sunlight breaks out below the western cloud layer while much of the rest of the sky remains dark and ominous.
At eight, I leave the w-mart, drive to the d-mart to park for the night and climb into the back of hte jammer.

I purchase coffee using my insulated cup and pay using fifty of my reward points. When I check my app, I am given 25 points because I used my own cup, so, it only cost me 25 points for a cup of coffee.
I remain inside until almost eight this evening, when I pack out and drive to the d-mart to park for the night. The parking lot here is virtually filled with overnighters and I take my spot again, park, climb into the rear of the jammer and watch videos until late. Then, I turn off my electronics, get into the horizontal and close my eyes.

Journey On, Day 120
Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, drive to the w-mart, walk inside to set up my computer, purchase coffee and then sit down to begin pounding keys and catch up on my journal writing. Then, at ten minutes to nine this morning, I connect to the Centerville ministry meeting using my zoom app. I work in the ministry until noon, but do not disconnect and begin working on my personal work, and when the ministry group return from the midday meal break, I listen in on the discussion for several more hours until the host turns the meeting off.
I then continue to work on the update of my web pages until nearly eight this evening. Then, I drive to the d-mart to park for the night but first go inside to see if the distilled water has been restocked and find a large pallet on the floor in front of the display. I open one of the boxes and take three gallon bottles, walk to the checkout and pay for the purchase. Then I return to the jammer, park for the night and climb into the back.

Awake, open the hood to add water, drive to the w-mart, walk inside for coffee, com and computer. I start by beginning my journal entry after which, I connect to the week end meeting in Centerville for the finish of the circuit overseers visit.
About half way through the meeting, one of the employees walks up to me to tell me that I have to leave because they are closing the cafe. I tell her I am in a meeting, that I came here for this meeting and I need to stay. She asks me how long is you meeting and I tell her Another hour or so. She turns, walks away and does not bother me again.
I turn my attention back to the meeting and say until after it is over and I have visited with the friends for a long time. Then, I pack out, walk to the jammer, turn on the GPS and set my destination to Big Forks, Montana where I will stop for the night at a state park. The distance is nearly 300 miles and the drive will be about four to five hours.
Leaving Bozeman, I turn west on IH 90 and in about 100 miles I cross the continental divide at
Homestake Pass.

Wayfarers State Park Campground
Coordinates: 48.052650 -114.081130
Elevation: 2936 feet
The rain began yesterday evening, continued all through the night, and continues this morning, so when I awake, I do not get out to heat water for coffee and my breakfast but instead just drink water and eat from my pantry. Also, I continue this morning pounding keys on my computer so that I may complete more of the current upgrade to my web site pages. However, the rain is suppose to move northeast into Canada late today but I suspect the clouds will continue here.
Then, at eleven-thirty this morning, I pack out, drive the loop around the park, then exit the campground, and drive north on SH 35, then east on SH 82 to US 93 and continue northward about twelve miles to the north side of Kalispell where I drive to a w-mart visited on a previous journey on. I park at the cafe, walk in for coffee, com and computer.
At six this evening, I pack out, drive to a d-mart to shop for some fresh fruit, vegetable, a couple pantry items and a new mouse for my computer. After shopping, I drive back to the w-mart and park in the adjacent hw-mart for the night.

Journey On, Day 126
Summer Solstice
Overnighting in a parking lot
Coordinates: 48.236664, -114.331883
Elevation: 3019 feet
Awake to another extremely damp day, drive to the w-mart, park, walk inside for coffee, com and computer. I have noticed that even though this is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year and the first day of summer, I am in an ecoregion, the
Northern Rockies ecoregion, which has a marine influenced climate and because of this climate everything is green and growing, much unlike the increasing desertification in the lower ecoregions of this continent.
In fact, methinks that is why it has been so wet in this area for the last several days. Too, upon leaving Bozeman on Sunday earlier this week and driving for over five hours from that Middle Rockies ecosystem, first, across the continental divide and then in a northwest direction into the Northern Rockies ecosystem, I noticed that in this northern ecosystem, there is a noticeable change from a brown and drying flora to a healthy green and growing one.
Methinks, this is a wonderful location for a summer sojourn, however, in this time of my life, I would never extend my stay here within this extreme northern area of this continent into the colder seasons, as my old body can no longer deal with those seasons of cold.
Instead, I will only start my summer sojourn here and hope to enjoy the nice weather that should come soon.
