The Clef on the Rock light is a privately owned lighthouse located in Oregon on Cape Perpetua about 1.8 miles south of Yachats, Oregon. This lighthouse was built in 1976 by former Tillamook Rock Light attendant and lighthouse historian James A. Gibbs and at the time was the only privately owned lighthouse in Oregon. Mr. Gibbs lived in the home that is attached to the lighthouse until his death on 30 April 2010.
The property is now owned by Gibbs′ daughter and son-in-law who lived at the property for 27 years with Mr Gibbs and it is believed that they intend to maintain the lighthouse as an official aid to navigation. The facility is still closed to the public.
