This lighthouse is located on the barrier island known as Cape Hatteras, in the town of Buxton, North Carolina and within the
Cape Hatteras National Seashore. The State Highway 12 can be used to access Cape Hatteras Light. From Buxton, North Carolina, drive south on Lighthouse road one mile to the lighthouse access road.
