THE PLANT KINGDOM
Phylum Angiosperm

The Phylum Angiosperm, Class Level Information Go Down Go Up
The Plant Kingdom has over 382,000 species, is currently divided into five phylums, and the largest number of plant species fall into the one phylum, which is Angiosperm. Each phyla groups is divided into even smaller groups, known as classes.
The divisions of classification for every living organism is: (1.) Kingdom, (2.) Phylum, (3.) Class, (4.) Order, (5.) Family, (6.) Genus and (7.) Species.
Currently, the wise men of the earth are endeavoring to classify everything into categories according to how it evolved, with their debates raging on and on. Methinks that they will never learn the truth because they eliminate the obvious, that all organisms were created by God. (But don′t try to tell them this because they will just make fun of you and your belief that there is a God.)
With all this wisdom among these worldly wise, is their understanding a totally new way of dividing the plants. No, actually the truth concerning all living organisms is beginning to emerge, a truth about life that is even more complicated than has ever been understood. Therefore, to keep my photo galley as simple as possible, I will go back to the basics that I was taught when I was in college, when the evolution fad was not as popular.

Angiosperm Characteristics
1. Vascular: organisms with a channel or system of channels for carrying fluids.
2. Seed Producing: organisms which are seed producing.
3. Flowering: organisms that produce flowers.

Angiosperm Information:
The word Angiosperm comes from the Greek words angeion meaning casing or covered and sperma meaning seed. Thus the organisms in this phylum include plants which have their seeds covered, meaning, the plants have an encasement we normally call a fruit.
The phylum angiosperm contains the plants that we are the most familiar with and is a phylum having more than 250,000 species.
This phylum includes all flowering plants which develop their seeds within a protective structure.
The reproduction process is by the development of seeds within an ovary enclosed in sporophtye tissue, which itself is embedded in a flower. After the flower is fertilized, the flower falls off and the ovary bulges to become a fruit.
An angiosperm leaf consists of a single, branched, main vein, which originates from the base of the leaf blade. In few plants, it may also consist of four or more main veins diverging from the same base.
The designation Vascular refers to the plant tissues, the xylem and phloem, both of which conduct water, sap, and nutrients in such plants.
