The 2013 Journey White Ibis Go Down Go Up
(Day 237 JO) 57°F. 6:00 am, clear
After entering the park, I drive to the pier parking and begin preparing coffee when I notice a state park ranger drive in and park near the entrance to the pier. I continue to boil the water and then notice another person arrives who walks up to the ranger and then is given a pair of binoculars. It is at this time that I realize that this can be none other than a state park sponsored bird walk. I make sure that my stove is stoked to boil the water that is sitting on top and then I walk over to the ranger and ask if she will be guiding a bird walk. Of course, I already knew the answer to that question and tell her that as soon as my coffee is ready, I would like to join the bird walk.
Janelle, the ranger asks if I have a pair of binoculars, probably thinking that I might need a pair to view the birds, and I tell her that I have something better than binoculars, a high zoom camera.

The 2010 Journey, White Ibis Go Down Go Up
(Day 945 BR) 49°F. 6:00 am, rain
It rains all night but shortly after the sunrise it stops. I drive to the front gate of the state park to access the WiFi. After uploading my files, I begin replacing the heater core, accessing it behind the glove box and by removing several panels around the front door and dash.
At about three, I walk to the lake with my camera and see a pileated woodpecker but do not get close enough for a photo.
I continue search about the lake and I am able to photograph a coot, snowy egret, this white Ibis, also a robin and sparrow.
