Habitat
Unlike other songbirds, these birds usually sit on a high perch searching the sky for insects, then launch a feeding foray to capture their meal, and return to the same perch to await the next passing insect. This is primarily their summer season hunt for food and some species continue this much of the year while the insects are available. However, when the insect population is on the wane, many of the flycatchers will search for and eat berries, fruit, flower petals, sap and Great Kiskadee even dives for fish like a Kingfisher does.
