THE FULL MOON
The Full Moon Story

The Full Moon Story Go Down Go Up
Never in the Sky With the Sun
To describe the exact physical condition of a full moon, the full moon occurs a the moment when the moon appears as a completely round and fully illuminated disc or circle in the night sky. To achieve this, the Sun and the Moon will be at exactly opposite sides of the horizon at which time, one of two things will be happen.
(1) When the Sun rises, the Full Moon will be setting.
(2) When the Full Moon is rising, the Sun will be setting.
When this occurs, the full moon will never be in the sky at the same time with the sun. Thus, other than when the moon and sun are at the horizon, only one will be in the sky for the rest of that day/night period of time when the moon is in the phase called Full Moon.
Too, the full moon is in the sky all night from immediately after the Sun sets until immediately before the Sun rises the next morning, making it 180 degrees opposite of the sun in the sky for the entire time that moon is in the Full Moon phase. Thus, for the entire time during which the moon is full, it is never in the sky with the Sun.
How long is the Moon Full?
From the perspective of viewing the moon from Earth, the moon can appear full for up to three days. In fact, it can appear full to some observers for about two days before and/or after the actual full moon.
However, in reality, the full moon phase only lasts for that precise moment when the Earth, Moon, and Sun are in perfect alignment in the solar system.

The Full Moon Name Go Down Go Up
The Full Moon by any other Name
From the ancient times, humans have used the movement of the moon to keep track of the passing year and set schedules for hunting, planting, and harvesting. Ancient cultures the world over have given these full moons names based on the behavior of the plants, animals, or weather during that month, or even to describe a certain activity or event that occurred in that location during that time of the year.
The early indigenous people of this continent, such as the Algonquin tribes living in the northeast did not use calendar months as we know them but kept track of time by observing the passing of the seasons and lunar months occurring throughout the year. Although there was quite a bit of variability, most indigenous people kept track of time by give names to the full moons, defining the year into twelve moons and sometimes adding an additions moon every few years to keep sync with the seasons and annual events.
The full moon names in the following list come in part from the Algonquin tribes whom the colonial settlers first met and became familiar with, even adopting and Americanizing the names for their own purposes. The colonial settlers associated the names with a calendar month but to the Algonquin, the full moon name was associated with the entire lunar month following the appearance of each full moon.
How long Can a person Live?
Some feel that if you see your one thousandth full moon, you have lived a very long life. I have determined that the first full moon that occurred in my life was on 25 October 1950 when I was less than one month old. By the end of the year 1950, I had lived through three full moons.
When it arrived, the Sturgeon full moon in August 2022 was my eighth hundred and eighty eighth (888th) full moon, and for me to live long enough to be alive for 1000 full moons, I must needs live until 30 October 2031, upon which day if my life continues, I will be able to see my personal consecutive 1000th full moon.
During September 2030, I will have lived to Day 29,221 when I thus have reached eighty years of age. Then, some 397 days after becoming 80 years of age, on Day 29,617 of my life, I will have been blessed to see my 1000th full moon.
1000 Full Moon = 29,253.59 days, or 708,734.16 hours. YMWV

The Passover Moon Go Down Go Up
Another name for the spring time full moon is the Passover moon, one which is determined not by the month, but by the seasons. The date of the Passover moon is the night of the first full moon after the spring equinox, which means that the Passover is on a different day each year.
The celebration of the Passover (Heb., pe′sach; Gr., pa′skha) by the Jews was instituted the evening preceding their Exodus from Egypt. (Exodus 12:17-24) The first Passover was observed about the time of full moon, on the 14th day of Abib in the year 1513 B.C.E (the month name Abib was lager changed to Nisan). This was thereafter to be celebrated annually. (Exodus 12:14)
The month of Abib (Nisan) falls within the months of March-April of the Gregorian calendar. Passover commemorates God′s deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt and the passing over of their firstborn when Jehovah destroyed all of the firstborn that belonged to the Egyptians. (Exodus 12:26, 27)

The Passover and Christ
Since the Bible definitely states that Christ is the Passover sacrifice (1 Corinthians 5:7) and that he observed the Passover meal the evening before he was put to death, the date of his death would be Nisan 14, not Nisan 15, in order to fulfill accurately the time feature of the type, or shadow, provided in the Law.

Lord′s Evening Meal
The lord′s evening meal is a literal meal, commemorative of the death of the Lord Jesus Christ; hence, a memorial of his death. This is the only event Scripturally commanded for Christians to memorialized, (1 Corinthians 11:24) thus, it is also properly termed the Memorial of Christ′s Death and is sometimes referred to as the Lord′s supper.
