The full moon in October is the time when leaves are falling, the game is fattened and hunting is necessary to lay in a store of provisions for the long winter ahead. This full moon is also known as the Travel Moon and the Dying Grass Moon.

Here in the driveway at the home which I have long called the Oak Harbor House, I look up and see the moon rising just above the condos across the street and I grab my camera to take a photo. The moon is very near to being full at this time.

I have been in Oak Harbor, Washington much longer that I have wanted to which was due to doing first and estate sale for a friend and then completing a long list of maintenance and repairs on the house.

Later, when I notice the full moon rising in the east so I get out my camera to take some close up photos, after which, I go out to the jammer, climb into the rear and go to sleep.

With the wind picking up throughout the morning, I leave the w-mart at about eleven, drive to Canyon, Texas and stop at the d-mart to purchase some yellow squash and salmon to test out the new charcoal grill I purchased when I was in Lufkin. Then, I drive on into the park, stopping at the entrance gate to get my permit.

Stamped in large bold letters on the outside of the package are the words, Burn Ban, No Wood or Charcoal Fires. Well, all the best laid plans of men are soon lost, as are my plans to those to lit the charcoal fire tonight.

But, there is a full moon! And I will endeavor to take photos of it both tonight and tomorrow night.
