Awake this morning at five fifteen but I am too late to photograph the moon set. I am able to take a photo of the moon glow and afterwards, I go back to sleep for a while longer.
When I do arise and get moving, I drive to the f-mart for coffee and to complete my journal entry for yesterday. I also check to see which parks in northern California are open and it looks like Lava Beds is the only campsite available this time of the year. I then head out for the Lava Beds.
Arriving at the campground, I do all of my evening tasks, and after eating my meal, shut down every thing, wash my dishes and climb back into the jammer to get horizontal for the night. However, I can not sleep so I step outside to see if the moon has risen and find it behind a lot of haze and do not get many good photos.
I am camping at Lava Beds national monument and wait up until after nine-thirty for this pink moon. At first, it is covered in haze but after waiting for a time, I am able to make out the sea of many.
