Also known as the clay-colored robin, yigüirro in Costa Rico

Male: The clay-colored robih resembles other thrush. The legs are pinkish

It has brown upper plumage and lighter below and lightest on the flanks.

Throat is faintly streaked and the bill is greenish-yellow with a dark base.

Eyes have red irises.

Female: same as male

Juvenile: Immature birds have faint mottling on back and under parts

Common in lowland parks and gardens.

Year-round: south Texas coastal plains, through Eastern Mexico coastal Plains.

It is seen throughout all of Central America to northern Colombia

Wintering: Rio Grande River in Texas where it is expanding its range.
