These large song birds are tropical birds most of which historically have lived below the US borders. However, there are numerous small breeding population, descended from escapes, who live in the warmer and southernmost regions of Arizona, Californis, Florida, and Texas.

After a day of key pounding, I go out to the jammer to get ready for the meeting tonight and see some parrots nearby. I drive closer and get out my camera to take photos.

With windy conditions prevailing, this photo session is anything but easy. Still, I am able to acquire a few photos of a group of these parrots on a wire as well as on palm branches.
