Range
Year round, black vultures can be seen in what has been called the Deep South which includes the states of Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, most all of Arkansas, and eastern Texas. The black vultures are numerous, widespread and slowly expanding range northeast and north.
Habitat
Flies in steady soar on short, broad wings held flat with occasional choppy flaps
Description
All black except for white on outer primaries. Very short tail and has a naked gray head.
