The Crazy Horse Memorial Go Down Go Back
Crazy Horse (Lakota: Tĥašúnke Witkó, Literally: His Horse Is Crazy)
Crazy Horse (c. 1840 - 05 September 1877) was a indigenous American and war leader of the Oglala Lakota during the nineteenth century.
He took up arms against the federal government of the United States to fight against the wholesale encroachment by white American settlers on then Indian territory. Too, he desired to continue in and preserve the traditional way of life of the Lakota people.
He participated in several famous battles of the American Indian Wars on the northern great plains, including the Fetterman massacre in 1866 and the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876. During the later of the two, he lead a war party to victory, which earned him great respect from his own people as well as his enemies.
In September 1877, four months after surrendering to U.S. troops under General George Crook, Crazy Horse was fatally wounded by a bayonet wielding guard while allegedly resisting imprisonment at Camp Robinson in Nebraska.
Crazy Horse lived in a Lakota camp in Wyoming with his half brother Little Hawk before the trouble began with the whites.

Overnighting in a parking lot
Awake, drive to the w-mart for coffee, com and computer until about one in the afternoon, after which I begin studying for the Watchtower study later today. Then, when the time arrives for me to connect using the zoom app, I tie in with the Bay Area, Houston congregation for the meeting.
When the meeting is over, I pack out of the store and drive southwest on US 16 until I arrive at US 16A, then south through Keystone, South Dakota, and out the west side for several more miles until I arrive at Mount Rushmore National Memorial, pull into the parking area and then walk into the viewing area to take some photos.
Later, I walk back to the jammer, climb in to the drivers seat and drive out of the the Memorial, continue west on SH 244 until I arrive back on US 16, turn west on this highway and then drive to the Crazy Horse Memorial.
