The Moons of Jupiter, Callisto-Jupiter 4 Go Down Go Up
Callisto-Jupiter 4
Callisto is second largest moon orbiting Jupiter next to Ganymede and the third largest satellite in the solar system after Ganymede and the largest moon on Saturn, named Titan.
The surface of Callisto is the oldest of all the Galilean moons, and the most heavily cratered object in the solar system.
Too, Callisto is located just outside of Jupiter′s magnetoshpere and is much less affected by than the other inner moons.
Callisto is surrounded by an extremely thin atmosphere composed of carbon dioxide, possibly molecular oxygen and a rather intense ionosphere. Because of its low radiation levels, Callisto has long been considered the most suitable place for a future human base to explore the Jovian system.
