The Somali Wild Ass

Description
The Somali wild ass is a subspecies of the African ass, and there are less than 1,000 in the wild.
As of 2011, about 200 Somali asses live in some 34 zoos world wide.
The Somali Wild Ass is very similar to the Nubian Wild Ass in size and coloring with one noticeable variation, the legs of the Somali wild ass are striped, resembling those of its relative, the zebra.

Range
The Somali wild ass is found in Somalia, Somaliland, the Southern Red Sea region of Eritrea, and the Afar Region of Ethiopia.
