Information:
The Cart Creek Arch bridge is also known as the Flaming Gorge Reservoir and is the longest single span in the state with a 550 foot span.
The contract for this bridge was awarded for the low bid of just under $769,000.00 to US Steel, American Bridge from Denver, Colorado.
When the bridge work was complete, the dedication ceremony was held in December 1962. The bridge would then serve as an access for the construction of the Flaming Gorge Dam.
The deck on the bridge is 30 feet above the water surface and 210 feet above the canyon floor, making the water under the bridge 180 feet deep.
