The Methinks, Coronavirus
Newest Methinks Updates Will Appear Directly Below Here

The Methinks: 22 May 2022, Update
Those of us who still persist to wear a face covering are the odd ones as most all of the population has returned to not wearing a face mask. This morning, when a friend and spiritual brother saw me with my bandana tied around my neck, he asked, Why are you wearing that? I told him that I wear it just in case someone comes in coughing. He shook his head and that appeared to satisfy his curiosity.
What I did not tell him is that I have been wearing and or carrying a bandana ever since my middle twenties and always had one on with walking on the Appalachian Trail. A bandana has just become as important to me as wearing pants and a shirt.

The Methinks: 01 December 2021, Update
For many months now, talk about the pandemic has been waning, mask wearing is optional and slowly decreasing, stores and cafes inside access are nearly all open to the public and normal life slowly begins to resume.
All through this time, even when the first mention of a pandemic entered my ears, I have been continuing on my migration, either south bound as winter approaches or north bound when summer nears.

The Methinks: Monday, 11 January 2021, Update
The following is an excerpt from an internet article that warns against mRNA vaccines such as the COVID-19 vaccines. 1 This article is interesting to say the least, and has foreboding information about the vaccines. When checking the source on 21 May 2022, I found the article no longer available. However, the link in the footnotes has a number of interesting ones.
"Chief among his concerns is the fact that the messenger RNA, or mRNA, vaccines are the first vaccines in history to intervene directly in patients′ genetic material and alter it, posing problems when it comes to health, ethics and morality. There are plenty of reasons to avoid the many COVID-19 vaccines that are being pushed on us, but Robert F. Kennedy Jr of Children′s Health Defense recently drew attention to some of the most concerning aspects of these vaccines.
"These vaccines involve injecting a sequence of genetic RNA material that was made in a lab into the body, where it invades the cells and takes over their protein-generating ribosomes to produce the coronavirus′s famous spike protein that gives it the crown-like appearance that inspired its name. The fact remains that we simply do not know anything about their long-term effects.
"While we definitely do not want to downplay how devastating this disease can be to a small percentage of patients, the massive vaccination campaigns that many countries around the world wish to embark upon could be putting a huge percentage of the population at risk of a slew of unknown problems. Many experts have acknowledged that there are lots of unknown and unique risks involved in mRNA vaccines, including: local and systemic inflammatory responses that may spur autoimmune conditions, cancer or organ damage.
"Moreover, the genetic damage that such vaccines can cause would be irreversible and irreparable. Genetic defects simply cannot be removed from the body. Dr. Wolfgang Wodarg, a German physician and epidemiologist, said: In fact, this promising vaccine for the vast majority of people should be FORBIDDEN, because it is genetic manipulation!
"The side effects of such a vaccine might take months or even years to become apparent, and by then it may already be too late for much of the population."

The Methinks: Monday, 14 December 2020
A COVID-19 vaccine is any of several different vaccine technologies intended to provide acquired immunity against coronavirus disease 2019. Previous work to develop a vaccine against the coronavirus diseases SARS and MERS established knowledge about the structure and function of coronaviruses, which accelerated development during early 2020 of varied technology platforms for a COVID-19 vaccine.
During the last week, several countries have received approval to use one of the developed vaccines and have begun or plan to begin mass vaccination. These countries include the US, Canada, India, Russia, Mongolia, China, Saudi Arabia, Great Briton, most all of Europe, French Guiana and several island countries.
Today, the first injections of the COVID19 vaccines are given in the United States.

The Methinks: 15 November 2020 (personal note)
As with everything in life, especially things hard to deal with, people tend to make light of most subjects and Covid19 is no exception. Thus, there has been many jokes to come out of this pandemic, most of which are a bit funny, but a few which, me thinks are hilarious. My favorite one is the following:
In twenty years, when our grandchildren ask us about the toilet paper shortage in 2020, we will respond with: Yes, it was terrible, we had to drag our butts across the grass! In the snow! Uphill! Both ways! and all the while fighting murder hornets!

The Methinks: 10 September 2020, www.cdc.gov/flu/pandemic-resources/)
The 1918 influenza pandemic (commonly call the Spanish Flu) was the most severe pandemic in recent history. It was caused by an H1N1 virus with genes of avian origin. Although there is not universal consensus regarding where the virus originated, it spread worldwide, lasting from February 1918 to April 1920.
In the United States, it was first identified in military personnel in spring 1918. It is estimated that number of infections of this virus was about 500 million people or one-third of the world′s population at that time.
Too, it is estimated the number of deaths to be at least 50 million worldwide with about 675,000 occurring in the United States.
Mortality was high in people younger than 5 years old, 20-40 years old, and 65 years and older. The high mortality in healthy people, including those in the 20-40 year age group, was a unique feature of this pandemic. While the 1918 H1N1 virus has been synthesized and evaluated, the properties that made it so devastating are not well understood.
With no vaccine to protect against influenza infection and no antibiotics to treat secondary bacterial infections that can be associated with influenza infections, control efforts worldwide were limited to non-pharmaceutical interventions such as isolation, quarantine, good personal hygiene, use of disinfectants, and limitations of public gatherings, which at the time were applied unevenly.
The 1918 Spanish flu was the first of two pandemics caused by H1N1 influenza Another virus; the second pandemic was the 2009 swine flu pandemic.

The Methinks: 01 September 2020, Update
Worldwide, there has been twenty-six million people who have been diagnosed with this virus but only eight hundred and seventy-two thousand who have died from it, making the percentage that have died during this pandemic less than four percent. The daily new cases has reached a plateau and the number of deaths peaked in late April, but came down a low in early June but rose a little in late July and now beginning to drop again.
Worldwide, there are now twelve countries that have no active cases of the coronavirus.

The Methinks: 09 July 2020, Job Loss is Staggering
As of this date, the weekly report on unemployment claims, over 48 million people have filed for unemployment for the first time since mid-March.
As of the July 2, 2020 release of the monthly Employment Situation for June, the unemployment rate in the United States reached 11.1%, down from the peak unemployment rate of 14.7% in April.

The Methinks: 08 May 2020, Update
COVID-19 is not a hoax, it is a real disease. However, methinks this disease and all the media precautions presented to the public in this country is a political state of mind, in fact, a scam presented by the government in there efforts to control the populace.
Further, as the public stay at home orders continue and the control of the populace increases, the entire system of things is becoming to much like a Nazi political state.
The closing of all non-essential businesses, the loss of more than 20.6 million US jobs, the closing of all federal and state departments including parks, and the policing of those businesses considered essential; all mark of government populace control in this nation-wide government shutdown. Further, their determination of which businesses are non-essential and which are essential is altogether idiotic, lacking no real basis.
For example, I went into a o-mart earlier this month which has been open through the entire government shutdown, while another more popular o-mart has a sign on it′s door stating, Closed Due to Order of the Governor. Thus, non-essential has become a term that is self interpreted by the business owners.
Another example: One d-mart has closed down it′s entire automotive department, including the sale, installation, and repair of auto tires, stating the same lame reason, The Governor has shut down the Automotive department. Elsewhere, I see everywhere I go, many other Automotive businesses, even those who only or primarily sell, install and repair tires with signs, We Are Open.
Again, methinks this nationwide government shutdown is a political hoax, a partisan scam, even a means of double speak that will allow government populace control to the sole tune of making their political statement.
Further, this government control is all part of the of what the Bible foretold for the time we are living in, particularly in how men will be acting. (2 Timothy 3:1, 2, 3, 4)

The Methinks: 15 April 2020. Update: The Acronym
When I saw the acronym, COVID-19, I asked myself, what do the letters and numbers mean. Since most diseases of this nature have acronyms because the name is just too long to repeat as was the case with the Middle East Respiratory Symdrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrom (SARS). So, methought, there must be a long name for COVID=19 as well.
After some research and not finding a direct answer, I came to conclude that the COVI must be the acronym for COronaVIrus.
However, I could not find any thing to understand the D-19. Then, it came to me that this acronym could be when this CoVi was first reported, so I researched a little more and found that China reported it to the World Health Organization on 31 December 2019, which then explains the D-19 in the COVID-19.
There you have it, this acronym means Coronavirus December 2019.

The Methinks: 01 April 2020. Update: The Disease
Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV.
Novel coronavirus 2019 is the coronavirus identified as the cause of a respiratory illness first detected in Wuhan, China last year.
When COVID-19 was first detected, many of the patients were reported to have had a link to a large seafood and animal market, suggesting the virus spread from animals to people. However, a growing number of patients have not had exposure to animal markets, indicating that the virus can spread from person to person.
Since the COVID-19 virus has only been identified recently, there is limited information about the different ways it spreads, clinical features, and its severity at this stage. Human coronaviruses are most commonly transmitted through: (1) The air by coughing and sneezing. (2) Close personal contact, such as touching and shaking hands. (3) Touching an object or surface with the virus on it and then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes before washing your hands.

The Methinks: 30 March 2020. Update: COVID-19 Info & Precautions.
A virus is not a living organism. It is a protein molecule (DNA) covered by a protective layer of lipid (fat), which, when absorbed by the cells of the ocular, nasal or buccal mucosa, changes their genetic code (mutation) and turn them into aggressor and multiplier cells.
Since the virus is not a living organism but a protein molecule, it is not killed, but it decays on its own. The disintegration time depends on the temperature, humidity and type of material where it lies.
COVID-19 Will survive for: ~ 72 hours on plastic; ~ 42 hours on metal, such as stainless steel; ~ 24 hours on cardboard; ~ 4 hours on copper, because copper has natural antiseptic properties; and ~ 4 hours on wood because wood removes all the moisture and does not let it peel off and then, the virus disintegrates.
The virus is very fragile, the only thing that protects it is a thin outer layer of fat. Thus any thing that dissolves the outer fatty layer will destroy the virus.

The Methinks: 29 March 2020. Update, COVID-19
All viruses are parasites which can only reproduce within cells. (Thus, they are very different from bacteria and fungi, which are self-reproducing, often in soil, water, organic wastes, sewage, or within organisms.)
The coronavirus particles are organized with long RNA polymers tightly packed into the center of the particle, and surrounded by a protective capsid, which is a lattice of repeated protein molecules referred to as coat or capsid proteins and forming the core particle. This coronavirus core particle is further surrounded by an outer membrane envelope made of lipids (fats) with proteins inserted. These membranes derive from the cells in which the virus was last assembled but are modified to contain specific viral proteins, including the spike, membrane, and envelope proteins.
The key to destroying the virus is to disassemble and remove the outer membrane from the inner particles, which when done causes the virus to be inactivated (and in effect, you could say killed). This disassemble of the virus can be accomplished by several methods, which amount to exposure of the outer membrane to one or more of the following methods for the purpose of dissolving the fatty (lipis) layer.

The Methinks: 28 March 2020, Update: How to Dissolve the Outer Lipis Layer
Best and Foremost Method, WASHING WITH SOAP:
Do to the virus having only a thin outer layer of fat, any soap or detergent is the best and foremost remedy, because the soap foam dissolves the fat. By dissolving the fat layer, the protein molecule disperses and breaks down on its own. (This is the reason it is necessary to rub for 20 seconds or more, so as to make a lot of foam and dissolve the outer layer of fat around the virus.)
BLEACH SOLUTION:
A mixture of 1 part bleach (chlorine) and 5 parts water will dissolves the protein portion of the virus and this mixture does so by breaking it down from the inside.
NOTE: Bleach in any solution is carcinogenic and should not be used on skin without wearing protective gloves.
DRINKING ALCOHOL:
Using drinking alcohol or any mixture with alcohol content of over 90% to wash hands will dissolve fat, particularly the outer lipid layer of the virus.
Most drinking alcohols do not have alcohol content greater than 50%. There are, however, a few drinking alcohols that will work because they have 90 percent alcohol or more. This list include:
Spriytus Vodka, Proof 192 (96%) made in Poland.
Everclear Grain Alcohol, Proof 190 (95%) made in US
Golden Grain Alcohol, Proof 190 (95%) made in US
Bruichladdich X4 Quadrupled Whiskey, Proof 184 (92%) made in Scotland
River Antoine Royal Grenadian Rum, Proof 180 (90%) made in Grenada
HEAT:
Heat melts fat, that is why it is so good when washing hands to use water above 77 degrees F (25 degrees Celsius). This works well with clothes and everything else. Also, the hot water makes more foam and as already mentioned, making more foam is good for dissolving the outer lipid layer, thus destroying the virus.
HYDROGEN PEROXIDE:
Oxygenated water (hydrogen peroxide) is next after soap, alcohol and bleach, because peroxide dissolves the virus′s protein, but it must be used undiluted.
NOTE: Full strength may cause skin damages.
ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL:
Many are using 91% or 98% Isopropyl alcohol because it does work in dissolving the outer lipid layer and thus destroying the COVID virus. However, the Isopropyl component in this alcohol is put there to prevent people from drinking the product because it is extremely toxic with numerous side effects. Too, Isopropyl is readily absorbed through the skin, so frequent topical use of this antiseptic can cause blindness and other major side effects.
NOTE: Isopropyl alcohol should not be used for frequent skin antiseptic use.

The Methinks: 27 March 2020, Update What DOES NOT WORK
LISTERINE: DOES NOT WORK!
Although reported to work when the understanding was that 65% alcohol would work, Listerine does not work to kill COVID-19. This is true because Listerine does not have 90% or more alcohol
ANTIBIOTICS: DO NOT WORK!
Antibiotics are used to kill living bacteria. Unlike bacteria, the COVID-19 virus is not a living organism. Thus, you cannot kill a virus that is not alive with antibiotics. Instead, whatevere you use must dissolve the outer fatty layer of the structure. This is done with the methods mentioned above.
BACTERICIDES: DO NOT WORK!
Bactericides are used to kill living bacteria. Unlike bacteria, the COVID-19 virus is not a living organism. Thus, you cannot kill a virus that is not alive with Bactericides. Instead, whatever you use must dissolve the outer fatty layer of the structure. This is done with the methods mentioned above.
VINEGAR
Vinegar is NOT useful because it does not break down the protective layer of fat.
DRINKING ALCOHOL, SPIRITS, VODKA, and etc.
The normal alcohol concentration in most all Spirits, including rum, vodka, whiskey and wine will not work, because the strongest drinking alcohol available in most liquor stores is only 50% alcohol content. The percentage needed dissolve the outer lipid layer is 90% concentration of alcohol or more.

The Methinks: 26 March 2020, Update: COVID-19 on Porous Surfaces
While attached to any porous surfaces (skin, clothing, bedding, etc.), the virus is very inert and will survive for 3 hours.
DO NOT shake clothing, sheets or cloth, because if you shake these or if you use a feather duster on other surfaces, the virus will become airborne and can survive for up to 3 hours in the air.
During that period of being airborne, it can lodge in your nose or throat.

The Methinks: 25 March 2020, Update: COVID-19, Temperature and Environment
This virus is very stable in outside low temperatures, or artificial cooling indoors, such as in air conditioned houses and cars. They also need moisture to stay stable, and especially need darkness. Therefore, dehumidified, dry, warm and bright environments will degrade it faster.
Shining UV LIGHT over any object that may contain it breaks down the virus protein. For example, it is perfect to use UV light for disinfecting a mask for re-use. Be careful, UV light also breaks down collagen (which is protein) in the skin, eventually causing wrinkles and skin cancer.

The Methinks: 24 March 2020, Update: COVID-19 General Information
The virus CANNOT penetrate healthy skin.
The more confined the space, the more concentration of the virus is possible. The more open or naturally ventilated, the less.
This is said repeatedly, but you have to wash your hands before and after touching mucous membranes, food, locks, knobs, switches, remote control, cell phone, watches, computers, desks, TV, etc. And when using the bathroom.
You have to HUMIDIFY DRY HANDS after so much washing them, because the molecules can hide in the skin cracks. The thicker the moisturizer, the better.
Also keep your NAILS SHORT so that the virus does not hide there.
DO NOT mix RUBBING alcohol + bleach - it converts to chloroform and hydrochloric acid. These compounds can cause damage to the nervous system and lungs, kidneys, liver, eyes and skin.

The Methinks: 23 March 2022, Update: Prevention
To prevent the coronavirus from spreading, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends frequent washing of hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using a hand sanitizer if a sink is not available.
The World Health Organization says people should wear face masks only if they are sick or caring for someone who is.

The Methinks: 22 March 2022, Update: Coronavirus Information
1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you most likely have a common cold.
2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose.
3. This new virus hates the sun and is not heat-resistant. It will be killed by a temperature of just 26-27 degrees Celsius. (78-80 degrees Fahrenheit)
4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne. It can stay alive for 3 hours in the air.
5. If it drops on a plastic or stainless steel surface it will live for 2-3 days - so if you come into contact with any metal surface - wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap and lots of hot water. I lives on copper surfaces for about 4 hours and 24 hours on cardboard.
6. On fabric it can survive for 6-12 hours. However, normal laundry detergent will kill it.
7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice.
8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes. However, a lot can happen during that time - you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on.
9. You should also gargle as a prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice.
10. It can not be emphasize enough, drink plenty of water!

The Methinks: 20 March 2020, Update: The Symptoms
Most people experience a mild form of coronavirus with these symptoms being the most common: cough, body aches, runny nose, sore throat, nasal congestion or diarrhea.
Interesting: In some cases, people who are infected will not exhibit any symptoms.

The Methinks: 13 March 2020, Update: The Symptoms
1. It will first infect the throat, you will have a sore throat lasting 3 to 4 days.
2. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia. This takes about five to six more days to reach the lungs.
3. With the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing.
4. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind, instead, you feel like you are drowning and at this point, it is imperative you then seek immediate attention.

The Methinks: 11 March 2020, Update: The Symptoms
The most common symptoms of COVID-19, according to a recent WHO report that draws on more than 70,000 cases in China, are the following:
fever (88%)
dry cough (68%)
fatigue (38%)
sputum/phlegm production (33%)
shortness of breath (20%)
sore throat or headache (13%)

The COVID-19 viral disease that has swept into at least 114 countries and killed more than 4,000 people is now officially a pandemic, the World Health Organization announced Wednesday.
Eight countries, including the United States are now each reporting more than 1,000 cases of COVID-19, caused by the coronavirus that has infected nearly 120,000 people worldwide.
By dubbing COVID-19 a pandemic, the WHO is placing it in a different category than several recent deadly outbreaks, including the recent Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Zika virus outbreak in 2016 and the 2014 Ebola outbreak in West Africa. All three of those outbreaks were deemed to be international emergencies.
In the last pandemic, the "swine flu" in 2009, or the H1N1 influenza virus killed more than 18,000 people in more than 214 countries and territories, according to the WHO. In recent years, other estimates have put H1N1's toll even higher.
In Italy, more than 630 people have died of COVID-19, and the total number of cases continues to rise sharply. The country now has 10,000 cases, second only to China. There are 9,000 cases in Iran and more than 7,700 in South Korea.
