Information:
The previous Depot Street Bridge, the one built in 1956, came to the end of its life and was to be replaced by a new structure, which for the most part is how it is done in bridge reconstruction, but this replacement was something entirely new for bridge construction. The new bridge was built along-side the existing bridge and when it was ready to open, the old structure was first demolished and the new bridge was moved sideways into place at the same location.
Driving Directions:
The bridge is located across the Rogue River and connects SH 99 with IH 5 from exit 48 in Rogue River, Oregon. This bridge is located adjacent to the John F. Fleming Memorial park, where there is a placard relating the history of the bridges that have spanned the Rogue River at this location.
