A WAYFARER′S WORK
The Desert House, Hemet, CA

The Desert House, Hemet, CA
Hemet, California is located in what is called the high desert area of southern California about 90 miles east of Los Angeles in the San Jacinto valley in Riverside county. The average elevation is 1600 feet above sea level.
The San Jacinto Mountains are just to the east of Hemet and Palm Springs lies on the east side of of these mountains just over 40 miles from Hemet.
An Oasis for Seniors
Here in California during 2018, the average cost for a home is about $500,000 while the average national cost is less than $200,000. However, in Hemet, California, a person seeking to buy a home can find housing somewhat less than in the rest of California.
Located in the city of Hemet are numerous 55 plus housing communities, many of which are mobile home communities.
These 55 plus communities have made available a location were seniors could and still can find affordable housing in southern California, an area where in the housing market the prices have soared in recent decades.
In one of these communities, the owner of the Desert House has his home.
The Desert House
The desert house is a double wide mobile home located in a 55 plus mobile home park. The owners, since they purchased the mobile home, have used this home as a rental for ten years.
Now that the owner has become the age required to live in the 55 plus Mobile Home park, he has chosen to sell the home he and his wife were previously living in and move to Hemet to live in the Desert House.
However, prior to moving into the Desert House, the owners want to thoroughly clean the home, and then upgrade the home by putting a fresh coat of paint inside and out, installing new appliances, flooring, and some other features.
Hence, here arrives a wayƒarer to help with the work.
