The Heart Attack
What is the Real Cause of a Heart Attack?
The cause of heart attacks begin when cholesterol attaches to the inside walls of the artery and then hardens into a plaque, which is thereafter referred to as a disease of the arteries know as atherosclerosis. The continual attaching and hardening of cholesterol gradually narrows the opening that blood flows through. As more cholesterol attaches to the arterial wall, albeit slowly, the arterial opening continues to be reduced in diameter.
Blood clots naturally and normally flow in our blood and when the artery opening becomes smaller than a blood clot, the resulting abrupt blockage of blood flow caused by a blood clot in such a narrowed area of the artery is a heart attack.
Why does Cholesterol Attach to the Arterial Walls?
A normal healthy arterial wall lining does not allow for the cholesterol to attach and harden into a plaque forming into atherosclerosis. So why does it do so? This happens only when the inner arterial wall has been damaged, usually by the sharp edge of a molecule of food which cuts the wall lining and leaves scar tissue.
Once the scar tissue occurs, the cholesterol has a place to take hold and begin to build upon. The more the interior wall lining is damaged, the more places the cholesterol has to attach and increase in size.
If one continues ingesting food which causes arterial lining damage, eventually, the attached plaque will increase in size, reducing the artery opening from inside. Logically, then, wouldn′t we avoid eating the food that causes this to happen?
What Food causes this Damage?
There are many food products that damage the arterial wall lining, known as the endothelium. However, the single food product most notorious for causing the most damage is High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS). The reason why this happens is that for sugar manufactors to increase the sweetness of corn syrup while decreasing bulk, most of the outer fiber is removed from the molecule leaving the inner core which then resembles a sphere with many sharp knife blades sticking out of it. Since HFCS is included in almost all processed foods, is it any wonder why there are so many cardiovascular disease (CVD) deaths every year.
Other substances which result in the same type of damage to the arterial walls include: (1) chlorine from city tap water and (2) fluoride which is also added to some city tap water.
Too, there could be more food and/or other substances that do the same type of damage. When the research reveals these, they will be included here in the future.
Is it Possible to Remove the Hardened Cholesterol Plaque?
Not with statin drugs that are most often prescribed by the medical industry, as they do nothing to remove the hardened cholesterol nor do they increase the size of the arterial opening.
However, the hardened cholesterol plaque can be removed with food and/or supplements that contain cardiovascular antioxidants. These antioxidant first remove the plaque and then also heal the inner lining of the arterial walls to prevent further attaching of the cholesterol. Read on in the next section to learn more.

The French Paradox
What is the French Paradox?
In the early 1990′s, a paradox in France received worldwide attention when it was observed that the French people, although normally consuming large amounts of high fat and high cholesterol foods, experience better health than Americans, particularly in much lower incidents of hearth attack and cancer.
After repeated studies were made, the only notable difference in life style is the fact that the French drink red wine with all of their meals, beginning from childhood. This lifelong everyday consumption of red wine with meals by the French people when compared with those of people in the United States was found to be the primary reason for this difference in incident of heart attack and cancer between the two countries.
How does Red Wine Help Prevent Heart Attacks?
Red wine, primarily in the seeds and skin of red grapes, contains natural phenolic antioxidants such as oligomeric proanthrocyanidin complexes (OPCs), resveratrol, and flavonoids, all of which are cardiovascular antioxidants.
Cardiovascular antioxidants first removes the damaging food molecules (known as oxidants or oxidizers) from the blood, and in time will remove all the hardened cholesterol plaque (referred to above as the disease called atherosclerosis) from the arterial walls. Then, after cleaning the inner cell wall of all the hardened plaque, the same cardiovascular antioxidants next repair the damage previously done to the lining of the arterial walls by the foods containing HFCS.
Yes, it is only these heart healthy nutrients that can remove the hardened cholesterol plaque from arterial walls and then repair any previous damage done.
Nothing that the Health Industry produces and especially not the statin drugs can come close to what these nutrients are capable of doing positively for our bodies.
Furthermore, you can know for certain, that not one person associated with the Health industry will ever inform you about what you have just read because it will prevent you from needing their services again.
And That is Only the Start
OPCs promotes healthy endothelial function by healing the lining of the arterial wall and then help normalize and maintain healthy blood pressure. OPCs improve or reduce symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency, diabetes, endema, high blood pressure, hemorrhoids and more.
Resveratrol has been shown in lab tests to neutralize free radicals associated with a wide variety of beneficial physiological effects including cardiovascular health. It is also associated with helping maintain healthy endothelial function.
Flavonoids help protects against bacterial infections and free radicals, which contribute to early aging, as well as preventing the development of a number of health problems, including diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
Further, red grape seed and skins contain highly concentrated levels of vitamin E and linoleic acid, nutrients which are beneficial for good health and longevity.

The Real Cure for Heart Disease
Cardiovascular Antioxidants from Red Wine
There is nothing wrong with drinking moderates amounts of red wine every day, and doing so would go a long way to improve your cardiovascular health. Further, many adults do have a glass or two each day.
However, for most adults living a normal lifestyle in this world, and only now just coming to learn about these benefits from red wine, the amount of red wine necessary to consume so as to get enough cardiovascular antioxidants required to correct a lifetime of damage and thereafter become heart healthy would be as much as four to five gallons of red wine every day for many years.
So then, what alternative do we have?
Supplements, The Healing Alternative
The same cardiovascular antioxidants in red wine and red grapes are available in supplements which can be found in most d-marts, hf-marts and pharmacies. The supplement is called grape seed extract or grape seed complex and has become a standardize extract of red grapes. Even though this supplement has been called the greatest discovery for modern medicine, very few in the Health Industry recommend it, much less even know about it.
The particular brand I use has 50 mg of the grape seed extract complex and contains 22.5 mg of the polyphenols (natural phenolic antioxidants). The serving size on the label says one capsule per day, but I personally take four capsules a day and have been doing so now for over twenty-five years.
Standardized Extracts
A standardized extract is an extract from a specific herb that has one or more of the herb′s components present in the capsules in a specific, guaranteed amount, usually expressed as a percentage. The intention behind the standardization of herbs and other substances is to guarantee that the consumer is getting a product in which the chemistry is consistent from batch to batch.
Since extracts have begun to be standardized, the ingredients are being put on the labels for the consumer to examine. Many of the lower priced extracts that are available in the d-mart have a low percentage (often around 10-20 percent) of the herb extract and then the rest of the content are fillers, or some other type of ingredient, many of which are inflammatory substances such as rice powder.
Recently, I have found a bottle of the grape seed extract that has a standardization concentration of ninety-five percent. The label stated that there was no fillers or added ingredients.

The Conclusion about Heart Disease
Get Started on Grape Seed Extract
The report above about the French Paradox showed that the people in the rural areas who drank red wine daily had little or no cases of both cancer and heart disease when compared with those living in cities nearby without the benefit of growing a vineyard.
Therefore, there is no sense delaying the taking of this highly advantageous supplement because it alone has the most profound effects on a person overall health and well being than any other food or supplement that can be consumed.
The benefit of red grape seed and skin extract over red wine is that the extract provides all the healthy benefits found in red wine without any of the negative effects the sugars and alcohol may have on you. Thus, it would be so advantageous to begin taking the grape seed extract supplements immediately and even double the recommended dosage as there is no upper limit of consumption of grape seed extract.
