A WAYFARER′S WORK
The Oak Tree House, League City, TX

The Oak Tree House
This home is where my baby sister has lived for more than a decade has been a respite for her brother, one that would afford him with a place to stop, pick up mail and clean up both himself and the jammer. This annual respite would often occur in the late fall or early winter when this wayfarer was on his annual migration south in search of a place to winter through the coldest months of the year.
This photo directly below was taken on the 33rd anniversary of the death of father of these two siblings. It would seem that this day will never pass without some memory of this great loss by the entire family. Still, Papa Buras will return to the earth during the Paradise, which is an event that this wayfarer has long awaited for.

Sale of the Oak Tree House
The time had come for the sale of the Oak Tree house and the storage bins that I have been keeping in the attic had to be looked at. This means that I must need go through these several bins and down size my belongings once again. I arrived in November of this year and ultimately reduced the number of bins from ten to four, selling many of my things in several garage sales and giving much of it to charities.
Susan also sold many of her possessions at the same garage sales and we spent many hours in her garage waiting to the items to leave with those who came by. After the sales, I helped Susan with the cleanup and fix up of the home, of which I hung around for several weeks during this effort.
Susan asked me about what we could do in the back yard to cover a spot that did not have any grass where the dogs had compacted the ground. I looked around the yard at the potential materials to find a lot of good size rocks and told here that these would do for the border, that we just needed the plants, dirt and bark mulch.
We had already used some of the bark mulch to brighten up the gardens in the front yard, so she asked me to build a flower garden in the back yard to match. So, together, we went to the local garden-marts to buy some flowering bushes, top soil and bark mulch.

Once the gardening was all complete, the real estate agent came by to take photos. Then, their move to Wimberley took place as planned and the home sold very quickly.
Thus ends another location that has been used as a respite by this wayfarer.

The Oak Tree Trimming
It was on the 07 December, 2013 that I proposed to my sister that the oak tree needs to be trimmed. After first checking on the availability of a ladder and found none, Susan and I drove to the hw-mart and purchased one for the task at hand.
Then for the next four weeks, we would trim the low hanging branches, pile them on the yard after which we would bind them into bundles small enough to handle. Then we would move the bundles to street side to awake the city trash pick up.
What was the results?

Upward Reaching Oak Tree
Yes, we had succeeded in changing the downward hanging oak tree to an upward reaching oak tree. This opened up the view both from the house outward and the street inward. This tree trimming would later help in the sale of the home when that time came.
